The most important thing for us is quiet so we were anxious about this however, despite the complex being fully booked, all residents seemed to adopt a subtle approach to all activities, including the pool area. There were families but overall, the children were so well behaved and respectful of others. Our suite was large and the view of the sea was soothing. Beds very comfortable, air con immensely necessary and effective and the cleaning service top drawer. Our only thoughts were that there weren’t a lot of kitchen appliances, utensils and crockery, but if you don’t like cooking, no problem. Also, the sofa and chairs were very uncomfortable, although I note that some properties had more modern furniture. That being said, these thoughts do not warrant any reduction in our 5 * rating! It was our first visit to Portugal and we will definitely be back, in a villa next time but they looked booked up for the foreseeable future!"

- "The property was ideally located in the centre of Carvoeiro. The property wasn't cleaned to a high standard, there was a lot of dust and the place smelled quite musty on arrival. There were no wine glasses and we had to get our own. They have blinds in the property that are of no use and are poorly maintained. These need to be upgraded. There is no pool, so in the height of the summer you'll need to walk to the nearby beach. The apartment has 2 free standing fans which are OK but can be a struggle in July / August. There's a roof terrace with a picnic table and 2 uncomfortable chairs. They could make things much more comfortable by providing a couple of loungers. It would really make such a difference as we couldn't enjoy the terrace due to this. We had 3 issues during our time here, they were resolved by the factor but it was inconvenient and highlights the fact that the property could be better maintained. If the owner is reviewing this: 1. Provide better blinds 2. Put loungers on the roof terrace 3. Ensure there's adequate glasses 4. Improve drainage in upstairs shower and repair shower door"

Our beautiful, two bedroom / 2 bathroom fully refurbished, air conditioned apartments with spectacular sea views are two of the best located sea view apartments on the popular Upper Monte Dourado Resort in the centre of Carvoeiro. This lovely one bedroom apartment is situated on the small complex of Colina Verde (Green Hill). It is one of the most elevated points of Carvoeiro and has stunning town and sea views. All the rooms have a balcony or terrace and enjoy lovely open views. On the roof you have a large, private terrace where you can sunbathe, enjoy an al fresco meal or watch the sun set!

It has an excellent pool area (with a small, shallow kids pool) with showers, changing rooms, WC's and freely available sunbeds.

Very quiet location but only a 5 minute walk to an award winning sandy beach, the village centre and great restaurants. Carvoeiro is set on a particularly attractive stretch of coastline with lovely cliff top walks and hidden sandy coves. Local activities include golf, diving, boating and tennis. If you like to explore, there are lots of other interesting places to visit nearby, including the old historic capital of Silves just 10km away.

You can collect your car at Faro Airport. An airport transport can also be reserved from Faro Airport to bring you directly to Casa das Primas. The cost is approximately 70 Euros. The journey usually takes approximately 50 minutes.

There are over 100 restaurants/bars in Carvoeiro and surrounding areas. We have top quality beautiful restaurants in our village, fresh seafood, fish and excellent meat dishes are on offer. A mini market 100 metres from Casa das Primas can supply all the basic requirements. There are a number of excellent walks around the cliffs and village. Casa das Primas is very centrally situated with easy access for any activity. The villa is extremely quiet and peaceful in spite of its close proximity to the centre of Carvoeiro.

We are able to offer you peace of mind with our cleaning, sanitising and disinfecting of the apartment between stays. With each apartment having their own entrance and exit, there is much less risk of coming into contact with other guests staying on the property. As the apartment is self-catering, there is minimal exposure to cleaners and other workers. We are able to implement social distancing policies during check-in and check-out. Your health and safety is imperative to us and as such we are happy to comply with the WHO and local authorities on advice and implementation of policies. Our cleaners are fully trained in correct cleaning and disinfecting of the apartment, pre - and post stay. If more information is required you may certainly contact the owner.

Area Description and sport: The Algarve is a region renowned for its wonderful sunny climate, miles of golden pristine beaches, either long stretches of beach or intimate little coves with stunning rock formations. The sea is azure blue and mostly clear. We are within easy reach of the famous Benagil Caves take a boat trip from Carvoeiro to see them at their best. The Algarve has an average of 3000 hours of sunshine per year. It has virtually no rain during the summer months. February is the start of spring, with October being very mild and warm. The Algarve has many sporting attractions. Golf is a very popular sport, as well as many water sports, tennis, padel, horse-riding, walking and biking. . Water parks, Zoo marine, Lagos Zoo and the historical castle in Silves are all 10 - 30 minutes away by car from the villa.

Did the walk to 7 hanging valleys from the apartment which was fab (got an Uber back though as was hot!). Apartment was great size, walk in wardrobe was much appreciated, bed super comfy. The only downside for us was that the kids were a bit big for the pull out beds (ours are 10 and 13 and on the tall side). The nursery is right next to it and you do hear it but it didn’t bother us. Casa Guilhermina has a lovely terrace at the front which is south facing and from the front entrance you can take the external steps up to the roof terrace where you can take in the beautiful sea view and relax on the comfortable lounge furniture or really make the most of the sun on the two loungers. There is also a charcoal BBQ on this level - perfect for alfresco dining.
We have a cot, high chair and children´s cutlery so we can accommodate a baby,.
The stand out features of Casa Guilhermina are definitely the view from the roof terrace and the location for town but it also offers very spacious accommodation and great outdoor space for a one bedroom property.
We will accept winter lets on this property also, it has electric wall air con / heater units - electric is charged separately for all rentals between November and March.

NEW TOURIST TAX

As you may have seen on the news or in the press, Portugal has introduced a small Tourist Tax like some other European countries, which came into force in May 2024. It is collectable and payable by us directly to the Lagoa local council which encompasses Carvoeiro.

The fee for the tax applies throughout the year and is broken down into high and low season.
Low season between November 1st and March 31st - €1 per person per night
High season between April 1st and October 31st - €2 per person per night

The fee is capped at a maximum of 7 nights regardless of longer stays.
The fee is chargeable for any guest age 13 or above.

We will request the additional tax through the Vrbo website on or around the second payment. To calculate the correct fee, please let us know any guest aged 13 and above.
