The villa is located in Croatia's southernmost town, Cavtat, built on a pine-scented peninsula. The medieval town occupies one half the peninsula, the forest covers the other. The villa is on the edge of either. Over 400 year old, it has all modern conveniences, such as a state-of-the-art kitchen, while its old charm has been retained. Cavtat features among the most beautiful towns in Croatia. Its boulevard overlooks a splendid bay, and is lined with restaurants, cafés, and super yachts. It boasts better beaches than Dubrovnik, which is within easy reach by boat or bus. Cavtat is an upmarket town in an upmarket region. Discos are banned in the old town, and the only buzz comes from the restaurant- and café-terraces on the palm-lined boulevard. Yet, even this buzz cannot be heard from the villa, which is built on the top of a small hill (40-odd steps).

This traditional stone house is just about 150m from the old town promenade with the cafes, restaurants and shops. The house can be reached either from the main parking (a 100m path with some 40 steps) or from the town promenade (a slightly longer but less steep climb through medieval streets). However, the house is not convenient for people with walking difficulties.
Entering the property you will find yourself on a spacious and furnished terrace dominated by a huge bougainvillea, and orange and lemon trees. The terrace is a perfect getaway to the sunny beaches that line peninsula, all of which can be reached by foot in 5 to 10min.
The main entrance leads you into the fully equipped kitchen, beyond which there is a partially separated dining area for 8 people and living area with a television set (Netflix, Chromcast) and DVD-player (with a collection of films). The closest beach is a rock beach just 100m from the house where you can also find water sports center. Banks, shops, a (modest) green and fish market, a pharmacy and the post office are within a 5-10min walk.

There is no private parking as the house is situated within the pedestrian area of the old town, but there is a public parking down by the sea. It is paid and a parking card can be provided for 300kn (this was the last year’s fee and will probably remain the same).

Vedran ( property manager) met us with many suggestions for our stay, plus when we wanted a vineyard tour and nice lunch he was very helpful in setting it up. Cavtat is pretty much an ideal location. It is stunning in its own right and ideally situated. We went to Dubrovnik once by ferry and once by suburban bus. Restaurants were a short walk and pretty darn good. Kotor , Montenegro was about 90 min away and definitely worth the trip. We also went to Ston and Mali Ston. The villa itself was a great place to party. Breakfast on the terrace is something I hope I never forget!"

The two properties underwent a complete reconstruction on the historical site of the Rural Complex Anic-Nikic dating back to the 18th century. The reconstruction was completed in year 2012.

The highlight is the refreshing swimming pool, gazebo and relaxing lounge area with sunbeds, parachutes surrounded by an assortment of citrus trees and fragrant flowers that offer privacy and seclusion. Proximity to the road results in some noise from cars while sitting on the balcony or terrace, but having a luxury villa with swimming pool in such a convenient location more than makes up for it.
The swimming pool is heated, a fantastic treat in May and October when the temperate is cooler outside! We do not use the heating from 20th May - 20th September as outside temperature is hot enough to ensure the water is warm!). Please note that, although we can heat the water from November to April, because of the outside temperature, you should not expect the water to go over 22C.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Apartment Lucy for our first visit to Croatia. It was spotlessly clean, had great air-con and generally everything we needed for our stay. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner Andro - the comms were always excellent and prompt, we had an early check-in and he even gave us a complimentary lift back to the airport. The small town of Cavtat was beautiful with many fabulous restaurants and bars. There were plenty of boat excursions available, such as to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik for around 20Eu each return. There is quite a challenging 20 min walk back up 'cardiac hill' to the apartment from the town but we actually enjoyed walking off the excess food and wine! Highly recommend staying here!!"

Successfully agency rented for over 10 years, this is one of Cavtat's only original Arts and Craft 1920’s summer house. The villa is very special as it was built and owned by an English lady and her local husband - they were said to have been friends with King Edward V111 and Wallace Simpson who apparently stayed with them in this house during their whirl wind tour of the Dalmatian Coast in the 1930’s! The house has been host to some other very distinguished guests and during it’s time between the 2 world wars, famous visitors to visit include; George Bernard Shaw, Hilaire Beloc and Sidney and Beatrice Webb. It has been lovingly restored by its new owners into a warm and friendly family home and is furnished with some lovely old pieces especially brought over from England.

The villa has very spacious accommodation and is ideal for 2 families or a group. The panoramic balcony views make waking up in the morning a joy and the terrace in the garden is a lovely spot to enjoy at any time of the day or evening. There is also a separate ‘little house’ – this used to be the servants cottage and is now a studio apartment.

The walled garden is lush with Mediterranean plants and flowers and enjoys a very secluded position. Floranneve boasts a large pool and there is a summer kitchen/BBQ area for al-fresco dining for those balmy summer evenings. There is also the `moroccan' outside sitting room which is a wonderful area to snooze and read in the shade during those warm afternoons. Table tennis, badminton and other outdoor games are on hand for extra amusement. And the house is just a 5 minute walk to the sea - with its waterfront bars, cafes, shops and restaurants – Floranneve's location is ideal. Cavtat is loved by all who visit – a real ‘gem’ of a harbour, unspoiled and full of history, where freshly caught seafood and delicious local wines are on offer at great local restaurants and bars, Picturesque coves surround the the village peninsular and beautiful narrow little streets make up the water front 1700's architecture.
