The house was recently renovated and looks really nice from afar but up close the renovation was pretty bad, we honestly had a good laugh about all the little things we found (2 of us are General contractor). We all thought the house is probably in the midst of a renovation and the accommodations were “half-baked.” Positives: The house is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The house is large; all of the bedrooms are very big and there was more than enough space for the 6 of us to be comfortable. The air conditioning (window units, not central AC) was very effective on a warm weekend. We had no trouble staying cool. The host was responsive when we had questions and was kind enough to let us stay a little extra on our departure date since our flights were pushed later. Negatives: As I said, the house felt very incomplete. The bedrooms each have a bed and a bedside table. No other furniture. Lighting was weird. The living room has two ceiling light fixtures that can accommodate 6 bulbs in each but each fixture has only 2 mismatched bulbs. The main floor bathroom has an overhead light and a brand new light fixture over the sink, but it has no lightbulbs in it. Lighting in the main floor bedroom was very bad. While the kitchen is newly remodeled, it is not well equipped. Definitely not a chef’s kitchen; only one useful counter and minimal plates, glasses, etc. While this wasn’t a problem for us, it should be noted that there are many steep steps to get from the street to the front door, and no handrails. It worked for us, but we were expecting more."
