It’s a gorgeous home and property in a peaceful, natural setting. We enjoyed watching deer in the morning and hearing all of the birdsong including a cuckoo calling every dusk. The view over Lago Maggiore is ever-changing and we left the drapes open at night to fall asleep to lights twinkling across the lakeside villages far below. The drive up from town is winding and sometimes narrow and the driveway is a bit steep, but there’s nothing to worry about after you’ve done it once or twice. We absolutely loved coming back to this lovely, quiet treasure of a place after bustling days around Stresa and this enchanting region. Tutto spettacolare!"

In September there is an exhibition-market of our "Cocco wine" wines and on the last Sunday of September there is the Palio degli donkeys, a competitive race through the villages preceded by a parade in medieval costume that recalls the history of the village, the ancient crafts, or moments of the life of the past.

Cocconato has Roman origins and the remains of the 10th century Radicati castle are still visible.

The large house, located in a quiet residential area but still close to the center, is an ideal place for a nice holiday. Both inside and outside it is wonderful to stay. The bedrooms are equipped with comfortable beds and have good mattresses and pillows. The spacious and attractive bathroom has recently been renovated and equipped with a spacious shower. In addition, the house has a separate toilet room. In the spacious, charming kitchen, which is equipped with the necessary appliances, you can cook and eat deliciously. We would like to recommend a visit to the underground wine cellars, also known as underground cathedrals. These are also listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The vineyards in the area are sure worth to pay a visit. Tasting of the most beautiful wines is easily arranged. In addition, there are many restaurants where you can enjoy delicious food. A detailed recommendation of them can be found in the house. A nice day trip can be made to the large cities of Turin, Milan and Genoa. These cities are easily accessible by car. But there are also many smaller towns in the area that are very worth to visit like; Asti, Acqui Terme, Alba or Nizza Monferrato. When you’re looking for refreshment you can take a dip in Canelli's beautiful swimming pool. It has a fantastic view on the vineyards and a small restaurant with delicious simple meals.

In the months of September, October and November there are many wine and food festivals after the harvesting of the grapes in Piedmont. All cities offer weekends or weeks spread over these months where the wines of the region are presented by wineries. Of course, these wines can then be tasted and purchased. Every year in October and November in Alba there is the very famous truffle fair (Fiera del Tartufo). Close to the holiday home is a truffle farm within walking distance. Here you can go truffle hunting on request, together with an experienced hunter and trained dog.

The TV only has Italian channels. The shower head needs replaced. There is no ice tray, and the fridge was disconnected for about 50% of the time due to said charging issues. We had to pay extra for sheets and towels per Bed! . (What use are the 3 beds without linen and running water and a shower with no towels? There was still an unidentified overcharge We banged our heads countless times on the absurdly low ceilings, at some points only 2-3 feet above the floor.hob kettle leaks. A very tricky lock on the door. 75 steps up to the 4th floor flat at the end of a very steep hill. Not a ray of sunlight penetrated the flat together with extremely low wattage lighting, meant even in the height of summer we had to use torches to read in evenings."
