The apartment is situaded in La Morra’s centre at the hightest point of the first village of Barolo Region. It borders with the San Rocco Church which was built in the 18th century.
You’ll find the property in the historical centre, directly opposite the town hall and the impressive Barocca church dedicated to San Martin (the patron saint of the village).
The famous CANTINA COMUNALE (see photo), the Gallo Wine Gallery, and the Barolo’s wine Cellar are just a short walk from the residence.
Amoung its shelves is a grand choise of bottles of local wines, or otherwise you may choose to wandel through Bastioni with its beautiful views of surronding vineyards facing your residence.
And for those wishing to stay in the centre of town, a short stroll away you’ll find shop, restaurants, pubs and vineyards and the “Seven paths to Barolo” that you’ll find between the vineyards.

La Mansarda is a cozy apartment in Alba, the capital of the become Langhe
recently UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Roero and Monferrato.
The apartment is on the third floor with a lift to the second floor. It consists of the living room (8 seats), lounge, equipped kitchenette, 3 bedrooms for 6 adults + a single bed in the 90 x 200 living room, (possibility of adding a free cot for children up to 3 years), 2 bathrooms (one with shower box- one with whirlpool tub), laundry room (washing machine, ironing board and iron), small terrace overlooking the rooftops and hills of Alba. Reserved parking space in private courtyard.
The main advantage of the apartment is certainly the location; in fact it is located in the historic center (150 meters from the main street Via V. Emanuele) with the possibility to park the car comfortably in the courtyard for the duration of the stay.
Walking through the streets you can discover restaurants, taverns, wine bars as well as museums churches.
If, on the other hand, you decide to visit the surroundings, you can admire the enchanting landscapes that the Langa offers with its hills cultivated with vineyards where excellent and fine wines are obtained which you can taste in the wine cellars in the many restaurants.

Firstly, Guarene was even better than we had anticipated - high up on a hill with the small winding streets and welcoming people. It is close to Alba, which was our favorite town to visit. When we arrived, our hosts provided a basket of fresh fruit, bread, cheese and meat (as well as some wine!) for us to enjoy while we settled in. Gianni provided a tour of his art studio and the garden - and our kids loved it all! We also relied on them for recommendations for things to do and restaurants to go to - they didn't disappoint. When we had an issue with our next destination, they extended our stay with no issues. Another great discovery was all the wonderful wineries some have been around for 100 years. We spent a few hours at a winery literally down the street from our place where we sampled Barolo and Barbaresco wines. I wish I could have stayed longer but for me that's the sign of a great trip. Our modern 2.5 room apartment has been ready for you since Easter 2014. It enchants with simple shapes and a high standard of expansion. The covered panoramic terrace with the most beautiful view of the Alta Langa in its original state offers a relaxing view of the unique landscape. The apartment is fully equipped with attention to detail. It consists of a beautiful double bedroom with direct exit, an open living-dining room with kitchen unit, and a spacious bathroom with shower and toilet. The kitchen is equipped, among other things, with a 4-plate induction cooker, a dishwasher and a convection oven. There is also a washing machine in the bathroom. In the living room there is a television with international programs received by satellite. Of course, WiFi is also available.

The covered terrace faces the morning sun. There are deckchairs, an outside table with 4 chairs and a garden grill. The beautiful surroundings invite you to go for walks or bike rides.

The owners live in the immediate vicinity. In the direct surrounding area there is also a gourmet and cultural studio with small production (no noise). Here our guests can look over our shoulders, be it in the processing of herbal products, the production of pasta or the sewing studio. If you want, you can of course take something home-made with you! There is also the option of being spoiled by your hosts with a wonderful tavolata and gaining insights into the Piedmontese cuisine. Of course, we are available with advice and help for planning the leisure activities if this is desired.

Castino is located on one of the beautiful hills of the Alta Langha, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. The small towns of Cortemilia and Santo Stefano Belbo can be reached in a few minutes by car, the famous cities of Alba and Asti with their rich cultural and culinary offerings are within 30 and 45 driving distances, respectively. It only takes 1 hour to the Ligurian coast and the city of Savona. Mountain hiking fans can reach the Piedmontese Western Alps with their wonderful hiking opportunities in an hour and a half. The charming town of Acqui Terme with its wide range of thermal baths is thirty minutes away. Castino is right in the middle, and you can combine a relaxing retreat with lots of wonderful leisure activities!

In fact we liked this place so much that we maybe rather keep it secret! Hospitality was great. We even had a pizza baking workshop offert by our host and her family. This region, known by his hazelnuts and wines, offers many beautiful small towns. For example the Barolo area is close, so lots of wine houses can be visited. The apartment is perfectly located in the central square of Savigliano, so that you can take part in life in the middle of an Italian city: in the morning breakfast with capuchino and croissants in a bar, during the day a bike tour e.g. to Saluzzo or to Bra and in the evening a perfect Italian dinner with typical Piedmontese dishes in the cozy restaurants in the vicinity of the apartment. Several restaurants and winery stores, great views, little traffic. Back in Alba, Historic area 50 steps from front door. Historic center has Main Street with somewhat modern stores as well as side streets with a bit more local feel.
