The apartment itself is spotlessly clean with a modern bathroom and air conditioning. There is a BBQ for guests to use, we did find the kitchen utensils for cooking etc were limited, however a quick chat to the owners and they provided the items we asked for. The owners, Aideen and Diago live upstairs and are the nicest hosts. They provided olive oil from their grove and eggs from their chickens and are always on hand to answer any questions or just have a chat. Salo itself was lovely, a really nice 2km promenade around the lake with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. We found it to be a good base for exploring the many other pretty towns around the lake (definitely recommend Limone, so pretty!). It’s just under an hour to the theme parks and just over an hour to Verona. A car is essential if staying here. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here."
