Large windows open into the basilica grounds and we could hear the bells rining and nuns singing but not the noise of the piazza on the other side. Bus stop right out of the front goes to the train station and tourist areas. So many fabulous restaurants right on the San Zeno piazza, hop on hop off bus a 5 min walk. River walk is 5 min in the other direction. Conad supermarket is 7 min walk and has everything you could need. We felt safe at all times. 3 of us stayed 6 nights but would have been happy to stay longer. Federica was wonderful. Nothing negative to say at all."

This apt is right by base of funicular, 5 min walk to ponte pietro, 15-20 min to arena. The gelato place that’s 3 min away at the base of the hill was excellent and artisanal (and trust us, with 3 kids over 2 weeks we tasted a lot of gelato). One day we had a casual lunch at the bar across the street which was so reasonably priced and delicious (and full of local regulars which was fun). No washing machine but otherwise had everything we needed to be comfortable. AC worked great, the kids loved their principesse room as I called it.
