Why should you choose this apartment?: I am aware that it is not easy to rent a house in Venice where the market offers a great choice of apartments for rental.

I can say that my decision to buy this apartment in spite of its higher price in respect to other flats of the same size was due to the fact that I found it had some very special and unique features:

1) the fantastic view from all the windows over the canal . You see a canal crossing where the gondolas seem to slip under the building and you feel like living on a bridge in a romantic atmosphere.

2.)f the central location a a at five minute-walk from Sa Marco square and Rialto bridge

3) the terrace

4) the apartment is on the second floor and has a magnificent view.

5) the charming history of the calle and the Paradiso arch.

6) the 'calle del Paradiso' is very quiet and it is close to ' salizzada San Lio 'where you find all kind of shops

I would also like to say that the renovation was completed in 2015 and that the apartment was completely equipped with new furniture.

A deposit is not requested: we don't ask you to pay for a deposit at your arrival since we have never had any problems with our guests.

I am an architect and I put a great deal of passion in carrying out the restoration works. I saved all the original characteristics and I tried to recuperate as much as possible from the old decoration. For example the 'seminato ' floor - a kind of Venetian mosaic - was recreated according to the original pattern (but now it is perfectly even, a very rare thing in Venice!), the ceiling rafts are the old ones and have been perfectly restored, the bedrooms parquet floors are made of elm- wood

It was a great pleasure for me to restore this apartment and I would like to rent it out to people who will appreciate it and think of it as their home in Venice.

The Owner was there to greet us and was readily available during our stay to answer any questions we had about the apartment or the San Marco area (restaurants, wine and cheese shops, bakeries, etc.) The apartment's location could not have been better, as it was only a 10 minute walk from St Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge, and other major sights, plus was surrounded by plenty of good restaurants and wine bars. The only (minor) negative was that the apartment was up 3 flights of stairs, making hauling luggage a bit of a challenge, but once ensconced in this beautiful apartment, the effort was well worth it. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning for another visit."

SURROUNDINGS
The north-eastern part of Venice’s Cannaregio Sestiere or quarter is particularly attractive with its three parallel straight canals, the setting for churches, palaces and minor houses alternating with gardens hidden by ancient brick walls.
It is a more open, airy and luminous part of Venice than other parts of the city.
One can stroll along these canals in peace and tranquillity, enjoying the beauty of the city without the crowds found in the main thoroughfares. Even boat traffic is less on these canals and much less noisy.
In this area there are still many shops, open air markets frequented by locals and delightful restaurants and café’s with waterside tables and live music in summer.

In only a few minutes you find the fruit and vegetable stalls of the open market at San Leonardo while the nearest supermarket (open on Sundays) is only five minutes away.

Very well located between the Rialto area in the north (with its famous food markets and labyrinth of alleyways) and the Dorsoduro district in the south (with its wide ‘fondamente’, antique shops and galleries) and only two minutes’ walk to the 14th century Church of the Frari, Campo San Polo and the jaw-dropping Tintoretto-filled Scuola Grande Di San Rocco.

Ca’ Navagero, was the historical domicile of the aristocratic Navagero family. From the end of the 1300’s this family provided Venice with many important politicians, ambassadors, writers and historians, one of them being Andrea Navagero. He was very important in the cultural history of Renaissance Venice. The palazzo has origins dating as far back as 1400 and is represented in a famous painting of Jacopo De Barbari from 1500.

Between the 17th and 18th centuries the palazzo underwent transformations but continues to withhold its original aristocratic charm. Still today, the palace is home to artistic and architectural master works. The façade with its arches built in the 1400’s, the balcony, the entrance hall, the wooden ceilings and the inner court with its fountain decorated with the Navagero family crest are a few examples.

The restored and renovated Palazzo welcomes its guests exuding fascination, charm, elegance, and a great feeling of history. A fully restored traditional wood beamed open attic. The two storey flat offers an elegant entrance hall with large double window overlooking the front canal.
At upper floor: living room with top quality fully equipped kitchenette, 1 master bedroom with impressive view of Madonna dell’ Orto church front, a second double/twin bedroom, 1 spacious bathroom WC/bidet/ bath/shower, + a second WC with hand basin. A small studio apartment, the doll's house, is an intimate space to meet in the evening after visiting the city. It is very central ( 15 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge) in a typical and quiet area... Campo San Giovanni and Paolo...one of the most romantic and beautiful places in Venice. There are several cozy restaurants and bacari nearby, which allow you to immerse yourself in Venetian specialties. The Acqua Alta bookshop, in a special atmosphere, awaits .

The space
The studio is very very small, but it has everything you need for a vacation: a double sofa bed, an essential kitchen, a windowed bathroom with shower. The studio overlooks a typical Venetian street. It is located on the second floor of an ancient palace. The furnishings are special because they tie many traditions... artistic ceramics, African woodworking, a Japanese touch illuminated by Burano's beaded chandeliers. The studio is in an ancient building and both the beams of the ceiling and the condominium stairs have the natural plaster that tends to make flakes. The lack of air conditioning can be a problem , for those who are not used to it, especially on very hot and humid days. Fans are usually enough to make it pleasant. You have to be open to a different experience...typical of authentic Venice.
