- "Casa Nirvana was a perfect location with amenities for 3 adults and 1 pre-teen. A/C kept us cool while sleeping and the only noises we heard were the local roosters and one trash truck. We could walk to town for groceries, caffe con leches, and dinner. There were ample areas to be together or apart. The water was hot for showers, and an outdoor shower for our return from the 5 beaches we visited. Parking on the street was not an issue." - "Owners stopped by and left us two more beach chairs an hour after we arrived, a nice touch there were 4 of us. House was worn but working, could use a lot of gardening but we were only there nights. Located on a private 6 acre property with a breathtaking 180-degree view of the ocean. The East Villa was the first one built on the property. It overlooks Ensenada Honda (east view) and the whole of Vieques island (south view) and Puerto Rico (west view). You will be staying walking distance from town and Melones Beach (great snorkeling!). We highly recommend renting a vehicle to get around the island. However, you can do without one. The house is a short walk from town were you can take a taxi to most beaches.

We are located in a quiet residential neighborhood near town with access to all areas walking or driving. There is taxi service but they do not run on a regular schedule therefore we highly recommend that you consider renting a Jeep or Golf Cart in advance. Kindly note there are few and they tend to run out quickly during high season and holidays so please consider renting in advance .

Please note that for the safety of our guests NO VISITORS ARE PERMITTED on the property at any time.

This lovely, private apartment is at the East end of the island on a dead end road in an extremely quiet location. The view is gorgeous and the walk to Zoni beach is only about 10 minutes. The sound of the waves is so relaxing and peaceful.

Your living-kitchen room, as will be assigned by management, would either have a standard sofa or a double-bed futon, which is suitable for teens or young adults. TRANSPORTATION TO CULEBRA: The airplane is a relatively hassle free, reliable and timely way to travel to Culebra. We recommend the use of the airplane. Main local airlines are Air Flamenco and Vieques Air Link. Air charter operators are also available. Ferry service departs the port town of Ceiba, Puerto Rico. You may buy ferry tickets online but if you are unable to buy the tickets ahead of time, we suggest you take the airplane.

DIRECTIONS TO YOUR RENTED APT.: From the ferry dock keep going on the main street (Rd. #250) towards the airport. From the airport location drive or take a taxi to Tamarindo Estates, 7 to 10 minutes. From the airport stay on Rd #251 North for about 1.3 miles; at Km. 2.2 (by the yellow house) turn left into Tamarindo road till the very end (about 3/4 mile). At the circle on Tamarindo Estates, walk to the office building and follow the instructions for check in.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
Though guests may use taxis and “publico” vans, we recommend driving a rental vehicle, a golf cart or jeep. Check with Jerry’s Jeep Rental, Carlos Jeeps, and Culebra UTV Rentals. On high season or popular holidays, booking a vehicle in advance is suggested.

BEDS AND VENTILATION: The apartment’s air-conditioned bedroom has a double-bed (Full-sized, 54x75 inches) for 2 guests. Guests may also opt to use the room’s ceiling fan and open the screened windows for natural ventilation. Your living-kitchen room, as would be assigned by management, would either have a standard sofa or a double-bed futon, which is suitable for teens or young adults. A 30x72 inches rollaway cot is also provided in the apartment. The living-kitchen room has a ceiling fan, and the windows are screened and may stay open for fresh air ventilation.

TRANSPORTATION TO CULEBRA: The airplane is a relatively hassle free, reliable and timely way to travel to Culebra. We recommend the use of the airplane. Main local airlines are Air Flamenco and Vieques Air Link. Air charter operators are also available. Ferry service departs the port town of Ceiba, Puerto Rico. You may buy ferry tickets online but if you are unable to buy the tickets ahead of time, we suggest you take the airplane.

DIRECTIONS TO YOUR RENTED APT.: From the ferry dock keep going on the main street (Rd. #250) towards the airport. From the airport location drive or take a taxi to Tamarindo Estates, 7 to 10 minutes. From the airport stay on Rd #251 North for about 1.3 miles; at Km. 2.2 (by the yellow house) turn left into Tamarindo road till the very end (about 3/4 mile). At the circle on Tamarindo Estates, walk to the office building and follow the instructions for check in.

Though guests may use taxis and “publico” vans, we recommend driving a rental vehicle, a golf cart or jeep. Check with Jerry’s Jeep Rental, Carlos Jeeps, and Culebra UTV Rentals. On high season or popular holidays, booking a vehicle in advance is suggested.

The Casa Rosado Oceanview Studio is a luxury apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Open the glass veranda door and you can see down the bay all the way to the open ocean. The large room has two queen sized beds, a table that seats two people, and a small kitchen area with sink, microwave, and electric stove. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. Open the sliding glass doors and feel the Caribbean breeze! Enjoy the view from the patio balcony. There are two chairs for you to sit outside.

Culebra has an abundance of wildlife including horses, cats and roosters/chickens that roam the island. The island has a rural character. You may hear some roosters during your stay.

Guest access
The entire apartment is yours during your stay. The patio area is shared with another identical apartment next to yours. There is also another apartment above you.

Other things to note
There is a lockable storage box to put your luggage if you arrive before the check in time. If you would like to use it, please let me know and I can provide you the combination for the lock.

San Juan International Airport (SJU) is the largest airport in Puerto Rico with the most flights, domestic and international. To get from San Juan to Culebra, you can fly or take the ferry. Cape Air, Flamenco Airlines and Vieques Air Link. All fly to Culebra. San Juan Isla Grande Airport is a 10 minute cab ride from the International Airport but the flights can be more affordable.

An alternate method of travel is to take the ferry out of Ceiba, offered several times per day. Tickets can be bought online at least one month in advance, sometimes earlier. When online tickets sell out, there are more tickets available in an-person at the ticket office at the dock. Online tickets for weekends and convenient times sell out several weeks ahead of time and cannot be bought too far in advance, so please plan ahead. Search the internet for Puerto Rico Ferry.

You will be staying among us locals and experiencing life in Culebra like we do! There are chickens, roosters, dogs, cats walking freely around the neighborhood. Occasionally you might hear dogs barking, roosters crowing and chickens clucking.

Puerto Rico, including Culebra and Vieques, has been experiencing intermittent power outages due to ongoing repairs to the island's electrical grid. Culebra’s power comes from the main island via underwater cables, but the island has its own generators that activate during outages. Typically, outages are short-lived.
Culebra’s Generators are turned on once the cause of the outage is determined for the safety of the residents.
Culebra, due to its remote location approximately 17 miles off the mainland of Puerto Rico, offers a more tranquil, natural experience. While this is part of its charm, it also means that we may experience occasional power and water pressure fluctuations. These surges can sometimes cause damage to appliances such as water heaters, internet routers, air conditioners, televisions, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, coffee makers, televisions, and other similar equipment.


Please note that due to the island’s isolation, repairs or replacements of such items may take several weeks or even months, which can affect the consistency of these amenities.

One thing to note if you are a light sleeper. Culebra is known for its wild roosters that are all over the island. They do crow a lot. 98% of our guests are not bothered by them but if you are easily disturbed by roosters crowing, we provide ear plugs and a white noise machine.

The unit is on the second floor. The bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom, screened in porch and covered front terrace are on this floor. A spiral staircase leads to the roof terrace with a parapet wall surrounding it. Great breezes, water views of Ensenada Honda bay and the hills behind. There is a pergola with UV ray blocking sails, bistro table and chairs to relax, take in the views or have a drink as the sun goes down, There are beach chairs available should you need them.

Other things to note
There are mosquitos in Culebra so repellent is recommended. We do have screens on our windows to keep them out but they will come in when the door is open!! Please note that mosquitos are attracted to dark colors like black, brown and navy blue........

Ants: Don't leave food around. That will attract ants!!

Finally, please be aware that there are cockroaches in the Caribbean. There are several species of roaches that have wings and in Puerto Rico. These are called the American cockroach or Palmetto Bug. We do our best to control them with weekly pest control. It is VERY rare to see them in our units but we feel that it is important to discuss this just in case.....You can help us to prevent them by keeping your unit clean and entrance doors closed so they don't come in. They generally uncommon inside, but in wet weather or in search of food, they will enter so don't leave food around and ensure you take the garbage out every day because cockroaches generally feed on food scraps and rotten garbage. Please be aware of this. We do our best to keep our units cockroach free and if you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask.

The cottage is the most economical way to enjoy the Hilltop grounds and vista, and a good base from which to dive into the magic of rustic, small town Culebra. It is a functional unit with no frills attached and not recommended for older or large in size couples. The heart shaped shared swimming pool with cascade fountain is just the thing for a cool dip after a warm day trekking across the island.

The Cottage is the most economical way to enjoy the Hilltop grounds and vista, and a good base from which to dive into the magic of rustic, small-town Culebra.
Right outside your door, you can bask in all of Hilltop: palm, lime, oleander, mango, and hibiscus trees dot the verdant green lawn and garden, and the heart-shaped blue swimming pool with cascade fountain is just the thing for a cool dip after a warm day trekking across the island. From the Cottage you will quickly forget your old life on the mainland, as you gaze at the azure waters of Ensenada Honda surrounded by postcard-perfect green hills and a layer of clouds scudding across blue skies… Drive scant minutes to the soft white sands of world-famous but still spacious Flamenco Beach, or to your favorite dive spot, followed by a cool drink and a meal at a restaurant in town…and come back to a brilliant Milky Way shining through a tropical night, with no big city glare to spoil the view, just a tropical breeze to cool off the day. If you’re an early riser, treat yourself to a ride or a run just before dawn to Zoni Beach in the east to witness a spectacular sunrise…

The Cottage makes for cozy but comfortable apartment living in the quiet of Hilltop, with 300 square feet (27.9 square meters), offering a full-size bed in the only bedroom, with curtains, air conditioning to refresh you after an adventurous day, and a full bathroom. The kitchenette, though not as fully equipped as the other two rentals with kitchenware, still boasts a four-burner cooktop, oven, and large refrigerator. While the Cottage sleeps two in the bedroom, you can seat four at the dining table.
At this price, who shouldn’t spend a little time in paradise?

The private villa is located at one of the most recognized complexes on the island of Culebra, about a 20-min. drive from town. It's a studio close to the pool(not under our control**), perfect for couples and families with kids.

Important Notice:
Please excuse us; we are waiting to replace a part for one of the glass sliding doors to the balcony. There is still access to the area through the other one, so you can enjoy the beautiful view and relax while sitting.

The space
The studio has a kitchenette which includes a refrigerator and microwave, and a cozy balcony with a view towards the pool area. Guests will also find living, sleeping & dining area to help make a confortable stay.

Other things to note
This villa is located about 15-20 minutes from the town of Culebra. It is recommended to rent a vehicle or Golf Cart to get to it or, another option is to take a taxi.

While staying here, you'll experience the natural beauty and wildlife that make Culebra so unique. You might spot (and hear!) island residents like chickens, roosters, horses, iguanas, and even the occasional white-tailed deer in the evenings.

Though we take care to fumigate the property regularly, Culebra is an island surrounded by nature, so you may still encounter some local insects, such as mosquitoes and flies. We recommend keeping doors closed to avoid Palmetto Bugs, which are typically attracted to light but not commonly found indoors.

Tips for a Comfortable Stay:

Don’t forget your sunscreen! The tropical sun can be intense.
If you plan to explore the beaches or island during the evenings, bring bug repellent for mosquitoes and no-see-ums, which can be present after sunset.

As is common in many homes in Culebra, the garage has been converted into a laundry room and housekeeping storage area for added convenience.

You will receive a message with your arrival instructions and door code on your check-in date. These instructions will be emailed to you once housekeeping has confirmed the unit is clean and ready for your stay.

Please note that parking for the property is on-street, allowing you to park your vehicle in an open space on the side of the road. It's typically easy to find a spot nearby, making it convenient for your stay!

Culebra's Water Pressure:

Culebra is experiencing a significant influx of visitors, placing considerable strain on the island's water supply system. The outdated and fragile infrastructure, coupled with the high demand for water, often results in low water pressure, particularly in elevated areas such as hills and mountains. This issue is most noticeable in the late afternoon, after visitors return from the beach and begin using water simultaneously for showers and other activities in preparation for the evening. We have observed that this issue typically starts around 3:00pm and resolves after 7:00 pm. You may experience these pressure fluctuations during peak hours. Low water pressure significantly impacts an on-demand water heater by causing a weak or slow water flow, meaning the unit might not be able to efficiently heat the water due to insufficient water volume passing through the heat exchanger.

Bath Towels & Linen Change Requests:

As part of our commitment to sustainability and in consideration of the island's limited water resources, we provide one bath towel per guest. Towels can be exchanged every three days upon request, and we're happy to assist with this during your stay.

There is also a clothesline to hang your wet and sandy things on. The swimming pool is quite refreshing after a day at the beach. The pool is also a very good way to acclimate yourself to Snorkling and Snorkling gear (For checked in hours only)

- 2.3 miles (3.8km) - Tamarindo Beach. Stone beach. Snorkel with turtles (best chance in morning) and other sea life.

- 4.9 miles (8.2km) - Zoni Beach. Secluded soft sandy gorgeous beach:) for long walks and warm swims.

- 1.8 miles (2.9km) - Melones Beach. Stone and sand beach. Snorkel towards the rocks.

- 2.4 miles (3.9km) - Punto Soldado Beach. Stone and sand beach. Snorkeling on the left side.

- 2.9 miles (4.7km) - Carlos Rosario Beach. A trek then a perfect sandy beach:) Snorkeling down the inlet to right.

- 1.1 miles (1.8km) - Resaca Beach Trail Head. Perfect isolated 1-mile-long sandy beach. 30-minute hike in through rocks, boulders and mangroves. Can be high surf and great snorkeling spots.

- 2.9 miles (4.7km) - Brava Beach Trail Head. Perfect isolated 1-mile-long sandy beach. A 20-minute easier hike in. High surf.

Villa has king bedroom with AC, en suite bathroom, open kitchen/living room with granite countertops. Comfortable furniture in living room w/AC to just relax. Airy spacious and private, everything you need to enjoy Culebra !

It has a private patio just outside the door to enjoy. The tap water comes from the rainforest and is great to drink.

Views are from the deck when you enter the property from the street and Villa is down the stairs.

The space
VILLA has private entrence and outdoor sitting area. We are close to harbor and get lots of oven breezes. The bedroom has plenty of storage area and closet for your items. Stools at the kitchen island for dining or eat just outside the door on the private patio.

Set on a hillside overlooking Ensenada Honda where you can enjoy great ocean views on our large deck which is shared other Seagrapes guests, or just relax in our hammock grove under the palm tree.

Free extend stay - use the outdoor shower and bathroom upon early arrival or after check out to extend your time enjoying Culebra. Just drop bags before or after check out, use changing room and/or shower to have more island time to enjoy. Free for our guests !

Other things to note
Please note that Culebra has geckos, wild roosters, cats, iguana and a variety of bugs which we try to keep away from our place. Please don’t feed the animals and keep food off counters and in the refrigerators to keep pests away. Keeping doors closed helps a lot. We do use professional exterminator services but sometimes geckos and bugs do get inside.

Thank you for your interest in Green Villas Seashell. Seashell is an air conditioned studio with private bathroom beach-style villa overlooking beautiful Ensenada Honda Bay. There are many stairs that guests must climb to reach this unit, we do not recommend it for anyone with reduced or limited mobility. It is between town (a 10 minute walk) and beautiful, secluded, safe Soldado Beach. Sitting on its’ balcony for meals, reading, talking and watching the sailboats and colorful fisherman boats come in and out of the bay is unique. Maybe if you get lucky you may watch the occasional pirate ship or yatch. It sleeps 2 people. I have great prices for longer stays.

The kitchen is fully equipped, making for great savings, with regular size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and blender. It has pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc. Also comes with a beach cooler.

Seasehll has access to 2 private loading docks. You may go swimming, fishing or sun tanning by the water.

Everything in Culebra is close being 7 x 3 miles. You can take taxis for $5 plus/person almost anywhere. You may also rent cars, scooters, bicycles and kayaks. Other things to note
Culebra is a tiny island, just 7 x 3.5 miles of size. This property is located among lots nature! Around the property there are chickens and other birds, cats, cute little wood mice, iguanas, etc.
And although we fumigate the property and surrounding areas every month, some of the common insects and bugs you may encounter in this area (and the entire Culebra island) are mosquitoes, flies, and Palmetto Bugs (they generally are not common inside homes).
Our property is water front, facing one of the most beautifully in the Caribbean, boaters love it! occasionally you will listen to boats and jet skis passing by.

The space

This first floor apartment consists of a comfortable king size bedroom and a common area that features: a futon sofa, dining area and stocked kitchenette, both areas features A/C. We will provide beach chairs, cooler and towels.... just what you need explore Culebra's turquoise waters.

Kitchen will be stocked with salt, pepper, oil as well as with the main utensils, dishes, etc to prepare meals. We hope you try our Puerto Rican coffee - also provided.

This apartment can be accessed from the handicap parking without any steps. One of the full bathrooms is designed without barriers, making this property suitable for persons with limited access. The bedroom has another full bathroom attached.

Other things to note
This apartment complex was severely damaged by Hurricane Maria. Now, 7-8 years later, some common areas has not been restored or demolished because of insurance/legal reasons. The process has been long, but this still doesn't keep us from enjoying Culebra and this property.

Please note that the beach gear we provide are: beach chairs, towels, and a small cooler. No umbrella, snorkeling or beach pad.

We understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. To protect your trip and avoid losing your payment in the event of cancellation outside the free cancellation period, we recommend purchasing travel insurance, which usually costs a fraction of the cost of your booking. If necessary, we will assist you with the documentation on our end.
