The apartment is located on the outskirts of the traditional fishing village of El Cotillo. And yet the historic town centre with its old harbour is only a 5-minute walk away, where there are some of the best Tapas and fish restaurants on the island. A fantastic French bakery is in the immediate vicinity (2 minutes’ walk), as are small cafes and eateries for all tastes and budgets. The supermarket is also 5 minutes’ walk, adjacent to small shops and boutiques which invite you to shop for local produce and gifts. Doctors, Chemist and cash machines are all very close by.
The airport is 40 minutes away by car, we recommend a hire car or our airport transfer service to your apartment door. 15 minutes’ drive takes you to Lajares, a favourite place for Ex pats to take up permanent residence, it has a cosmopolitan & hippy chique feel while keeping its Spanish charm
10 minutes further takes you to Corralejo, the main resort in the north of Fuerteventura, with an abundance of local and international shops, restaurants and bars. Dinner followed by an hour or two wandering the old town and harbour is a favourite local past time.

The downstairs area had more than enough room for our family of 3 and the bedrooms were roomy enough. El Cotillo is a really laid back town. We loved it. Not too developed, so it feels like a Spanish town more than a tourist resort. It has many lovely restaurants and bars - we didn't have a bad meal the whole week we were there. The beach to the south of El Cotillo is a long, gorgeous stretch of sand and much loved by the surfer dudes whose rusty camper vans populate the town. To the south the beaches are calmer and beautiful and, if you like bird spotting, there are even mud flats a little further up the coast (still walking distance). The north of the island has much to see (Calderon Hondo, Corralejo Dunes and Betancuria are all worth a visit), but really it's the beaches here that take the top prize! It was a great week. Thank you."

Almost all apartments are located in the complex have a size of about 40 square meters and are all the same cut with living-dining room kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, terrace or balcony. Only four apartments have a frontal sea view. Due to the "sloping" layout of the other houses, most of the apartments (ours) have beach and sea views depending on how the location is. Sometimes the apartments even have mountain views. So you can enjoy sunrise or sunset from the balcony or terrace.

The Apartment 'Casa Los Lagos' (51)

The approximately 40sqm apartment is located in the lower floor (ground floor) of a house and is reached via the spacious terrace. Due to the staggered situation one takes neighbors hardly was. The apartment consists of a living / dining room (sleeps 2 for children / teenagers) with fully equipped kitchenette. Next to it are the bedroom with large wardrobe and the bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and washing machine.

The destination- El Cotillo

El Cotillo, the original coastal town in northwestern Fuerteventura, is far from the hustle and bustle. In the alleys of the old harbor district meet fishermen, individual tourists and wealthy Majoreros who have built their second residence here. The charming little town of El Cotillo is known as a paradise for surfcracks, high waves and good wind conditions. There is plenty of sun here. In El Cotillo, for example, an alternative surfing scene has been established, always in search of new challenges. There are ideal conditions for "windsurfing", "kitesurfing" and traditional surfing. A small supermarket (delicious breakfast sandwiches / baguette!) and more shops are only 4 to 5 minutes walk from the apartment. A larger supermarket, a bank, numerous restaurants and bars, a laundry and other offers can be found in El Cotillo.

My name is Howard. Janine and I were so happy that we were able to achieve great weather during the British winter and we have now set up this apartment which is full of love and makes us so happy.
The dream was to establish a bolthole that meets all of our requirements and then to share the experience with others. We strongly believe that if one has not lived and loved a holiday rental, it will not have covered every angle and will not be a great rental. Success to us is defined by the desire to come back and to achieve that we have established a number of feedback and communication methods. As important as the apartment itself is its location. We managed to discover this lovely large village called El Cotillo, formerly a fishing village, on the north west coast of Fuerteventura. It is a wonderful location as it has the best beaches whether your interest is surfing or caribbean-like lagoons and there are numerous bars and restaurants as well as surfing and horseriding schools within walking distance. Within 15-20 minutes of El Cotillo is Fuerteventura's first and livelier resort of Corallejo and within 10-15 minutes is the rather stylish and Bohemian town of Lajares with a laid-back feel. There are numerous other great towns and the capital of Fuerteventura, Puerto Del Rosario, is only 40 minutes away and of course the overall location close to the west coast of Africa ensures hot temperatures and minimal rain all year round.
The apartment is located within minutes of the best beaches, restaurants and bars and is part of a contemporary style development of several hundred 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedroom apartments with outdoor adult and toddler pools. The surfing beaches are a mere 10-15 minutes walk away and the sheltered and calm clear water lagoons are 3 to 7 minutes walk. The historic old harbour with more bars and restaurants and a nightclub which closes at 2.00 in the morning is 5-10 minutes away. A good supermarket and other shops are within 3 to 4 minutes walk.
Reliable car hire with good insurance and no shocks can be as little as 20 Euros per day with Autorheisen which we recommend and this should be booked from home on the internet, collected at the airport and used for the 40 minute drive to the apartment and one can park safely in the secure underground carpark or outside at no cost. Keep the car for the duration and deliver back to the airport on return home.
The apartment is well equipped and has one double bedroom with large balcony, a newly fitted bathroom with double length walk-in shower, a kitchen, a lounge with a sofa bed for one adult or two small children and a large balcony and a large rooftop solarium with furniture and barbeque. It is situated close to the village (supermarket, bakary, restaurants, shops) and also close to the beaches so that you can walk a few minutes (on the one side surfing beach and on the other side swimming beach). The pool was not heated and a bit cold, but the sea was 20 degrees warm in January. The roof top balcony is especially nice and sunny. There were not as many tourists as in other places. We would come back again."

It might seem to be a distance from other parts of the island but the roads are generally in excellent condition and often straight with light traffic so getting around is not a problem. The quality of the restaurants in El Cotillo we ate in was very high and reasonably priced. Los Cazadores and La Vaca Azul were our favourites."

Almost all apartments are located in the complex have a size of about 40 square meters and are all the same cut with living-dining room kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, terrace or balcony. Only four apartments have a frontal sea view. Due to the "sloping" layout of the other houses, most of the apartments (ours) have beach and sea views depending on how the location is. Sometimes the apartments even have mountain views. So you can enjoy sunrise or sunset from the balcony or terrace.

The apartment "Casa La Piedra" (58)

The approximately 40sqm apartment is located in the lower floor (ground floor) of a house and is reached via the spacious terrace. Due to the staggered situation one takes neighbors hardly was. The apartment consists of a living / dining room (sleeps 2 for children / teenagers) with fully equipped kitchenette. Next to it are the bedroom with large wardrobe and the bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and washing machine.

The destination- El Cotillo

El Cotillo, the original coastal town in northwestern Fuerteventura, is far from the hustle and bustle. In the alleys of the old harbor district meet fishermen, individual tourists and wealthy Majoreros who have built their second residence here. The charming little town of El Cotillo is known as a paradise for surfcracks, high waves and good wind conditions. There is plenty of sun here. So in El Cotillo an alternative surfing scene has established itself, always in search of new challenges. There are ideal conditions for "windsurfing", "kitesurfing" and traditional surfing. A small supermarket (delicious breakfast sandwiches / baguette!) and more shops are only 4 to 5 minutes walk from the apartment. A larger supermarket, a bank, numerous restaurants and bars, a laundry and other offers can be found in El Cotillo.

The "Urbanización LOS LAGOS"

About ten minutes walk from the "center" is the small settlement in which the apartments "Balcon de Cotillo" were built. Here, lovingly arranged in the typical style of the Canary Islands, the staggered, bright white houses were built. Due to the "privatization" and the associated change in the administrative structure, much has been invested in the renovation of the complex, which consists of a well-tended garden with palm trees, oleander and more. m. is surrounded.
