- "We stayed the 3rd week of June as the season was just getting started in Mascia’s house in Fano, a lively and lovely beach town. Our apartment was on the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans) and was located in a great position so close to everything but just outside of the “centro storico” or historic center” and we arrived in a Saturday and we had parking right outside the 2 floor building and were alone in that building for list of the week. Only once did we return to not find our usual spot but a woman in a building across the street saw us and called down that she’d move! Amazing hospitality! The apartment was ready; towels, sheets, the works and was spotless! A 2 bedroom, eat in kitchen, large bathroom place w/pvt entrance. We had our 2 small dogs with us and they were welcome (we obviously looked for a pet friendly spot and Mascia knew). It was all truly so easy. There was a €1.50 per person tax per night to pay when leaving but we knew before hand and is not unusual. Indeed, Mascia said she’d come by on the morning we left at 9:30 but we woke up at 6AM so we’re ready way before time so I called Mascia and asked if we could leave it on the table and she was fine with it so we did and we left. Also, this locale is so close to beaches although the beach we went to, Animalido, was a 7 minute drive but was also the reason we chose this area of Italy, dog friendly!"
