This beautifully restored and professionally decorated residence is located within the walled city, the historic center of Montepulciano, an important hill town in southern Tuscany.

Situated on a small lane just off the main commercial street of the town, 'the Corso,' it offers ready access to the cultural life of the town, restaurants, coffee bars, shops and the wine bars, tasting rooms and cellars where you can sample the famous wines of Montepulciano, yet the apartment is so quite that an alarm clock will be needed if you don't want to sleep away the morning.

At the foot of the lane is a small plaza overlooking the medieval wall of the town with a breathtaking panoramic view of vineyard-covered hillsides, clusters of farmhouses and the Lake of Chiusi in the near distance, Lake Trasimino and the town of Cortona in the middle-distance and the spectacular Appenine Mountains beyond.

The precise age of the original house is not known but the cellar contains the town's only remaining ceramics kiln and certainly predates the 17th century addition that is now a separate residence for the owners.

Although completely renovated, the residence retains its original character - hand-hewn chestnut beams with handmade terra-cotta tiles between, local travertine marble floors, travertine walls in the bathrooms, travertine vanities and countertop, travertine door frames set in thick stone walls with panelled wood doors and hand forged iron hardware. Even the copper and wrought iron light fixtures were made by a local craftsman. The bathrooms and kitchen are thoroughly modern and equipped to meet the expectations of discriminating visitors. There is also a central heating system and a working fireplace for the comfort and pleasure of winter visitors. In summer the apartment remains cool and fans were enough to keep the air moving but in anticipation of the effects that global warming may bring in the future, we have replaced the standard fans with TECNO AIR SYSTEM units in each bedroom. These combine Ionizers to purify the air with an ultrasonic nebulizer, to cool the air using an evaporative process without wetting. These are very effective cooling systems in a hot dry climate.

Our apartment with Air Conditioning is located at the beginning and lower part of the Historical Center of Montepulciano. It has a beautiful terrace with amazing views of the Tuscan hillside and the medieval town. It is a short walk from cafes, restaurants, shops, supermarket, wine cellars and several beautiful sites. It’s also a 5 minute walk from the Language School IL SASSO. Our apartment is on the third floor and there are stairs to get up to apartment. It is a Duplex Apartment which we have renovated. . Bedroom on first level has new Queen Size Bed with New Mattress, soft linens, and new pillows. Spacious Living Room/Kitchen and Dining Area are on the Main Floor. Kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, spices, oil, dishes and glasses. We have a large Dining Table which can accommodate up to 5 people. Living Room has a Sofa, 2 comfortable chairs and a Large Flat Screen TV. Bathroom on Main level has been renovated and we supply plush large new towels and toiletries for our guests. On the second level you will find another Queen Size bed with New Mattress and new linens. The Second Renovated Bathroom is also on the second level. The door leading to Terrace is on that same level. The private terrace has New Seating. The Views of the Tuscan Countryside and the Medieval town are magnificent. -This little but super cozy studio flat, placed at the ground floor (no stairs), has a small double bed (195x140cm) that is about 20cm less large than a normal queen size bed so confortable also for 2 normal size people but of course not as much as a queen size bed.
-It has a little kitchenette with a electric hotplate, a kettle, a microwave and kitchenware and a frigobar. It is enough for any kind of meals but not the same of a full 4 fires in a full kitchen.
-Free parking at P7 and P8 at around 150-250mt. far.

Just 400m from the old town of Montepulciano is La Casina di Mira, modern accommodation recently renovated, so called because the very nice lady who for many years lived in this house was called Palmira, for all Mira. In a quiet location, with free outdoor parking, makes it perfect to reach the historic center; very close, just 400 m away is also the supermarket or the bus station; the stop of the urban bus service is only 50 m ( the stop is Via Calamandrei which is the road parallel, in front, to the one of the house, going up the driveway) To make the access to the house more free the check in will be done independently by the guests, who can find the house keys inside the small safe located outside the door. Renovated just two years ago, it has been finely furnished in order to convey a modern and welcoming atmosphere.The guests of the house can also take advantage of the free wi-fi and of course the independent heating. The accommodation can accommodate up to two people as it has a large double bed.
