Our property was built in the 14th century and Buonsignori Apartment is on the second floor.. (Owners live on the third and fourth floors.) The small entrance way leads to the open-plan living/dining room. There is a modern kitchen with stove top cooking, oven, and all the necessary cutlery. The windows face the Via San Pietro and the Pinacoteca National museum from which you can watch the Palio parade in the comfort of your living room.

This beautifully restored and professionally decorated residence is located within the walled city, the historic center of Montepulciano, an important hill town in southern Tuscany.

Situated on a small lane just off the main commercial street of the town, 'the Corso,' it offers ready access to the cultural life of the town, restaurants, coffee bars, shops and the wine bars, tasting rooms and cellars where you can sample the famous wines of Montepulciano, yet the apartment is so quite that an alarm clock will be needed if you don't want to sleep away the morning.

At the foot of the lane is a small plaza overlooking the medieval wall of the town with a breathtaking panoramic view of vineyard-covered hillsides, clusters of farmhouses and the Lake of Chiusi in the near distance, Lake Trasimino and the town of Cortona in the middle-distance and the spectacular Appenine Mountains beyond.

The precise age of the original house is not known but the cellar contains the town's only remaining ceramics kiln and certainly predates the 17th century addition that is now a separate residence for the owners.

Although completely renovated, the residence retains its original character - hand-hewn chestnut beams with handmade terra-cotta tiles between, local travertine marble floors, travertine walls in the bathrooms, travertine vanities and countertop, travertine door frames set in thick stone walls with panelled wood doors and hand forged iron hardware. Even the copper and wrought iron light fixtures were made by a local craftsman. The bathrooms and kitchen are thoroughly modern and equipped to meet the expectations of discriminating visitors. There is also a central heating system and a working fireplace for the comfort and pleasure of winter visitors. In summer the apartment remains cool and fans were enough to keep the air moving but in anticipation of the effects that global warming may bring in the future, we have replaced the standard fans with TECNO AIR SYSTEM units in each bedroom. These combine Ionizers to purify the air with an ultrasonic nebulizer, to cool the air using an evaporative process without wetting. These are very effective cooling systems in a hot dry climate.

The space
Our apartment is setting in a quiet and safe residencial area just on the perimeter of the town center of Poggibonsi. You'll find excellent restaurants and pizzas but also bars, pharmacies, atm, grocery stores and every kind of shop you need within walking distance.
Here we rent a total of just 2 distinguished and renovated ensuite rooms. (Each one with its own private bathroom inside). This one in particular it was the room of my brother Andrea when he was a teenager. Now he live in another town with his family.

THE APARTMENT:
It is on two floors and it has a private entrance by the building through a small private garden where you can relax whenever you want. In Spring and Summer you can also enjoy al fresco take away lunch and so. In the living room (ground floor) there are two big sofas, LCD TV and a large table with chairs at your disposal. Here there is a corner with espresso and packaged sweets always at your disposal 24h. Also there is a sideboard with cutlery, plates, glasses at your disposal in case you want to eat some food from the market or pizza take away. We remember that we can't provide any type of food service and that we are not able to provide breakfast. The use of the kitchen of the apartment is not allowed. The Room is on the 1ST FLOOR. There is no lift but they are just 19 steps by staircase from the living room.

THE ROOM (16 sqm):
Here you'll find: highspeed wi-fi, small TV, fan, kettle, tea & chamomile, 1 bottle of water. Double gazed window with mosquito net!
The bathroom is en-suite. So 100% private as it's accessible from within your bedroom only. At your free disposal: shampoo, body & hands soap, a small hairdryer, a big shower (100X80cm), WC with soft close, washbasin. There is no bidet.
The room is furnished with: a wardrobe, a comfortable double bed (150X200cm), bedside table, suggestions and tips about the area and restaurants on the walls of your bedroom. A lot of maps are provided!

In addiction: next to the door of your bedroom (not inside), on the floor, you have a medium size fridge always at your disposal to share with the one or two eventual guests of the other room that we rent. There are mountain bikes in the garden always at your disposal. You'll find 4 bikes here as we rent 2 bedrooms, so bikes are available for you 24h7d ;)
Bed & bath linen are free furnished and weekly changed. You'll find the room already prepared for a comfortable stay.

In the apartment there is a friendly and family atmosphere. Absolutely it's not like an Hotel. Don't worry the two rooms in our small intimate B&B have very different furnitures so you can be 100% sure that you'll have the room you had booked!

You'll share the apartment with my mother Dolly (employed) and my father Piero (engineer-teacher). Both just retired. I guarantee you that my parents are very friendly, youthful and open mind people. Mom and dad travel a lot and often they use Airbnb to book accommodations. We started to rent one room about 12 years ago as a joke but quickly we received a lot of reservations and immediately we felt great hosting people from all over the world!
