Topsail Island is a barrier island. It is surrounded by water. Intra-coastal waterway is on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side.
It's a rugged island and has been through many hurricanes. Every one takes a toll but, Topsail comes back even stronger!
Come visit, see the history that made this island so interesting!!
Laid back and easy going, ride bikes if you want to rent them or rent a golf cart and tour at ease.
Many Island restaurants close by 9 p.m. ,
I might suggest, plan on eating earlier and party after!

The bathrooms are both en suite with the washer/dryer combo in the master bath, which I found extremely convenient. The location is fantastic. Truly a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach. The view from the deck is lovely and relaxing, but there is no shade, so we erected a pop-up gazebo and created shade and a little more privacy. There were a couple little glitches during our stay, and the hosts were very responsive. Also, Turtle Shell staff are on the property almost daily and are very approachable if you need anything. Two caveats: 1) If cooking is a big part of your vacation, this might not be the place for you, as the kitchen is not well-equipped and there is very little counter space, and, 2) I wish it wasn’t so expensive!"

The location is unbeatable (minute walk to the public beach access, walking distance to grocery store, Surf City Coffee and Daybreak Donuts!) so you need not worry about parking. In fact, I don't think we even got into the car again after we arrived until it was time to pack up and head home. The apartment is clean, updated, and adorable. The playset was an awesome added bonus for my three year old. Another reviewer mentioned the size of the bathroom, and it was tight, but doable for a small family. Would absolutely recommend to any other small families or couples, especially those with young children and/or pets. We will book again!"

I know others complained about noise but we didn't have any problem. On the first day we wished for a hose in the outdoor shower and on day 2 it magically appeared. Also no closet or anywhere to store luggage, which made it feel even more cramped. However, I've read reviews for some of the other units and it sounds like this one may be a bit smaller because of the screened-in porch so I guess it's a compromise (If I were to stay there again, I'd still sacrifice extra space for the porch!). I doubt I'd want to stay for more than a couple of nights just due to its miniscule size, but, overall, we enjoyed our stay and I would gladly stay there again. "

- "Very clean and spacious, bright and beachy. We only made breakfast and had all utensils and pans needed. LOVE that they had k-cups with a Keurig! 2-3 minute walk to the beach! This condo is right across from the Trailer Bar. They have live music which was great. We would just put chairs on the deck, listen and people watch. But when you’re trying to sleep, you can hear everything across the street. People tend to get a little louder when drinking, lol. Did not bother me one bit, my husband slept right through it. If you’re a light sleeper, could be an issue. I would not let that keep me from staying here again. Great communication with the owners. If you’re looking for a place to stay and don’t care if you have a beach view, stay here!! Seriously only 2-3 minute walk to the beach. P.S. LOVE that there is a washer and dryer! I could pack light knowing I was able to do laundry. "

The master bedroom has a queen size bed and there is a day bed in the alcove. Of the two large couches in our living room, one is a pull out couch. (As typical at NC beaches, linen rentals are additional or you can bring your own)
Whether you are beach go-ers or enjoy the pool* this can be your place!

Pullout couch is just that...a pullout couch. (Not as comfortable as a regular bed). There is an additional mattress pad on the Queen bed that can be moved to couch mattress for comfort, but it does not fit inside when folded up.

Sit on the large private balcony and take it all in as you look out over the well maintained pool and courtyard and onto the ocean.

Happiness Comes in Waves is located just over 1 mile north of Surf City town center and provides easy access to all of the area’s attractions.

The space
As you enter immediately to your right is the the nicely lit King bedroom and it's connected half bath with closet. Continue down the hallway and you will find bunk beds quietly tucked away in the thoughtfully designed nook. Drawers can be found under for additional storage and curtains provide needed privacy. Right across the hall is the door to the spacious full bath which also connects directly to the master half bath.

Down the hall, you will be welcomed by an open concept living area with a fully stocked kitchen. Air mattress is provided in the coffee table trunk. Some adult and children’s games are available along with some books to help make for a relaxing stay.
