From the seating area on the balcony guests can relax and overlook the flowing waters of the nearby River Leven and the woodland views.

This location provides visitors with easy access into the countryside and the Cumbria Coastal Path. As this is the Lake District, the well known lakes of Windermere, Grasmere, Derwent Water and Conniston Water are all within driving distance. For the more adventurous Scafell Pike (the highest mountain in England) may prove a challenge to undertake. Walk in the footsteps of the Lake Poets, such as Wordsworth and Coleridge amongst others, and visit Grasmere to see his final resting place. Not to mention a visit to the home of Beatrix Potter at Sawrey, Hawkshead.
Outside the National Park area are the coastal regions of the Furness and Cartmel peninsulas, with the Leven Estuary and Duddon Estuary easily accessible.

As this is the Lake District, the well known lakes of Windermere, Grasmere, Derwent Water and Conniston Water are all within driving distance. For the more adventurous Scafell Pike (the highest mountain in England) may prove a challenge to undertake. Walk in the footsteps of the Lake Poets, such as Wordsworth and Coleridge amongst others, and visit Grasmere to see his final resting place. Not to mention a visit to the home of Beatrix Potter at Sawrey, Hawkshead.
Outside the National Park area are the coastal regions of the Furness and Cartmel peninsulas, with the Leven Estuary and Duddon Estuary easily accessible.

The ironworks produced iron and steel from 1711 until its closure in 1966. Now, the attractive and modern complex consists of several single—and double-story apartments that have been built to a high standard, and most, including No 5 - aptly named The Smelting Pot, benefit from views of the River Leven.

The Smelting Pot is a modern apartment that spans two floors. The ground floor is the social space for family or friends to get together and cook a meal in the modern kitchen or perhaps enjoy a few drinks on the patio while the kids stream their favourite TV series—the choice is yours. The ground floor is open-plan and spacious, so you'll have no trouble relaxing, even with a full house.

Also on the ground floor, in the entrance hallway, is a WC, a handy storage cupboard for coats, etc and the stairs to the first floor. The stairs are carpeted, as are the three bedrooms, of which there are three: two double bedrooms with king-size double beds and a single bedroom. Two of the bedrooms have balconies, too, perfect for a morning coffee or a chilled afternoon with a good book.

There are two bathrooms on the first floor, one of which is an en-suite with a walk-in shower, toilet and basin, and the second is the house bathroom with a bathtub and a shower over, toilet and basin.

The Ironworks complex is located between the two villages of Backbarrow and Haverthwaite and just 2.5 miles from Lakeside at the southern tip of Lake Windermere, where you can hop onboard one of the Windermere Lake Cruises and sail up the Lake to Bowness, Brockhole or further to Ambleside. For a full-on adventure, why not catch the Haverthwaite Steam Train to Lakeside and leave the car at home?

The Nest is a beautifully designed, second floor duplex apartment. The apartment is laid out over two floors, with it's own private entrance at the front of the building. The open plan living/dining area situated on the lower of the two floors is the perfect space to relax and unwind on the comfy corner sofa in front of the smart TV (Complimentary Netflix) with family or friends after a day out exploring. The space also features a dining area with a table and chairs where you can all gather for meals, games or perhaps you're visiting for business purposes and require ample space to work. Head out of the patio doors to the balcony where you'll find a super snug seating area to enjoy a morning coffee whilst soaking up the peace and quiet with views across the River Leven. The modern kitchen is equipped with all that you need for the cook of the group to prepare an evening meal for all, featuring a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven with electric oven and hob, washer/dryer and much more! The apartment is served by fibre broadband, so don’t go thinking that just because you’re staying in a secluded location that you can’t keep in touch with friends, family, colleagues, or clients, because here at The Nest you can.

Ideally suited to those who enjoy water sports, walking or cycling, there are three double bedrooms, one with high sleeper beds, a sofa-bed, two bathrooms and a cloakroom. A very well equipped kitchen and Sky tv / Wi-Fi.

The space
This is a third floor apartment which is part of a tranquil gated development of 16 properties which share
extensive communal grounds including woodland and lake frontage. Increasingly we spend time away so are making it available as a holiday letting. Primarily suited to adults, children are permitted but require supervision because of the Juliet balcony and access to the lake and the River Leven from the grounds.

The apartment itself can accommodate six comfortably with two king size beds and an adult size bunk bed ( top bunk not suitable for child under 12 years). There is a further trundle bed for a younger child. Linen for the sofa bed in the main living area is available on request. The kitchen is well equipped and includes double oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer drier.

There is a picnic table and bench by the lake and folding garden chairs for use in the communal gardens are available on request.

Please note there is no private external area for al fresco dining although guests can make use of the outdoor communal spaces at their own risk.

There is no lift and four flights of seven stairs to access the property. Being an apartment and adjacent to open grazing fields it is not suitable for most pets.

Oxenholme station in Kendal is approximately 2.5 hours from London by train. However, use of a car for travelling throughout the Lake District is advised.

The modern kitchen is equipped with all that you need for the cook of the group to prepare an evening meal for all, featuring a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven with electric oven and hob, washer/dryer and much more! The apartment is served by fibre broadband.

Also on the lower floor you'll find a spacious king sized bedroom with a luxury Hypnos mattress so we're confident you'll wake up feeling refreshed after a great nights sleep. The room is equipped with plenty of storage space for clothes, and a family bathroom with a bath tub, shower overhead, a heated towel rail, a sink basin and WC.

On the upper floor you'll find a Super King sized bedroom, the bed is zip & link and can be made into two twin beds if required (please let us know in advance of your stay and we can arrange for this to be set up for you). There is a third double bedroom on the same floor and again both beds have luxurious hypnos mattresses. There is also a second floor shower room with a shower, sink basin and WC.

The Nest will comfortably sleep up to 4 guests with ample seating for all throughout the living and dining area. We have specifically ensured that your family trip away is suitable and safe for little ones by providing a Nuna travel cot and a higher level bassinet option is available if needed for infants, there is also a highchair, an audio baby monitor, changing mat, baby bath toys, games, a potty, toddler toilet seat, a step stool, plug in night lights and retractable stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs.

The space
A wonderful and contemporary apartment which has been tastefully furnished offering comfortable accommodation with outstanding views and modern amenities. Only 2 miles from the stunning Lake Windermere.

The property sits independently in the grounds of a family home. Through the entrance door, upstairs into the light airy, spacious open plan apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

A large sofa, positioned in front of the gable end window for you to take in those stunning views. With a flat screen TV, with streaming apps for you to log in to.

There is a dining area, a well appointed kitchen, which includes a fridge with freezer compartment, induction hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. At the end of the kitchen is also a breakfast bar.

The bedroom has a super comfy king sized bed and a unit for storage of your clothes.

The shower room has a modern shower, toilet and basin facilities. Towels are provided for you.

Outside is an area with a bistro set for you to enjoy alfresco meals and drinks. There is a charcoal barbeque for your use. Here you will also find the hot tub for your own personal enjoyment.

This really is an area of such beauty and there are so many things for you to enjoy; The Swan Hotel with spa facilities and restaurant, Lakeside steamboat & aquarium, Grizedale Forest is great for walks, bike rides and tree top adventures. There is also the Lakeland Motor Museum, Haverthwaite Railway and you can also visit the home of Beatrix Potter.
