Stone steps lead up to the spacious upper sitting room. Adding toasty warmth on cosy winter evenings is the wood-burning stove in the exposed stone fireplace, a true nod to the home's heritage. Deep, comfortable sofas are sprinkled with plush satin and velvet cushions for an exclusive, luxurious feel. Underfloor heating maintains an ambient and warm feel even before the stove is lit.
Beyond the sitting room is the first of five sumptuous bedrooms. The first double bedroom with en-suite shower room is located on the ground floor and retains the characterful charm of the upstairs rooms, with its exposed beams and deep-set windows. On the first floor, bedroom two comprises a king-size bed, exposed beams, soothing shades throughout and a spa-like en-suite shower room. The Smart TV allows you to enjoy movie nights in pure comfort.
Another half flight of stairs leads to the main house bathroom, complete with a luxurious full-size bath and a rainfall walk-in shower, also serving as a Jack ‘n' Jill en-suite to bedroom three. Step through into a peaceful and serene single bedroom, where soft fur throws evoke a cosy chalet bedroom vibe. The fourth double bedroom is sumptuously styled in grey and white, with a Smart TV and a luxurious en-suite shower room.
Sweet dreams are assured in the fifth bedroom. This spacious room with its velvet accents and soft grey palette is soothing to the senses. Awaken in luxury, beneath the rainfall shower of the en-suite bathroom.
Step outside to the private and peaceful courtyard garden. Enjoy the warmth of the hot tub, followed by a quick spritz in the garden shower to refresh the senses. Make the most of the weather and dine alfresco at tables in the front and back gardens, both with ample seating for eight. A joy throughout the seasons, damson trees bear beautiful fruit towards the end of the summer and in early autumn, whilst mature, well-stocked evergreen shrubbery ensures colour and privacy all year-round.
A travel cot and highchair are included for the youngest members of your group and can be found along with a high capacity washing machine, and dryer in the utility outbuilding.

- "Fantastic, luxurious property for our weekend away. Beautiful bedrooms with en-suites provided privacy for our party. Two fabulous rooms downstairs to sit in, play games and chat. Hot tub was large, and lovely and warm. The photographs of the property don’t do it justice. Would highly recommend" - "We spent 2 nights here and loved every second of it. The communication from the owner was great with clear directions of how to find them. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The furniture and decor was very classy, no expensive spared. The hottub was ready for us and very clean. We all had no mobile phone signal so having a strong WiFi connection meant all could log on to all their devices. Overall a lovely property I would definitely recommend."

- "Although there was on site restaurant it was closed for bookings and only take away Saturday and Sunday, then beginning of new week it did not open until Thursday and was fully booked both remaining days even though tried booking for Friday on Thursday. Of course there are cooking facilities in the room but when you book a week away you would like ro be able to have a meal without having to drive. Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay in a lovely place."

- "Great location on the edge of the lakes with the convenience of a town centre location for access to bars and restaurants. Comfortable and clean property. Just be aware that access to the loo is through one of the bedrooms, wasn't a problem for us as I slept through my friends nipping through but could be a problem for others. I would stay here again. The space
Situated on the fringes of the Lake District National Park between Penrith and Keswick, Fell View provides comfortable accommodation in the foothills of Blencathra Fell in Whitbarrow Village, Berrier near Greystoke. Constructed, furnished and equipped to a high standard, the first floor apartment has open countryside views and is a peaceful base to return to after exploring the Lake District.
With an open plan design, the apartment has a spacious super king size bed with comfortable mattress topper, lounge with a sofa bed, armchair and 50" smart TV with freeview channels, Netflix and Amazon Prime. The dining area and fully-equipped kitchenette has everything you need and even extras like egg cups and a cafetiere. It has a 2-ring electric hob, mini oven, microwave, dishwasher, full size fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, slow cooker and steamer. Bedding and towels are provided in addition to dishwasher tablets, soap, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and tea and coffee for the first day or two. The bathroom has twin sinks and a shower over a large bath. The north-east facing balcony is accessed through French doors and is a relaxing place to sit with your morning coffee and take in the country air and peaceful surroundings. The only vehicle you will hear is a very occasional tractor as you are far removed from any road traffic.
To unwind you have complimentary use of the shared indoor swimming pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna and gym and if you want to take a break from cooking, there is an on-site restaurant offering a dine in menu or pizzas to takeaway. These facilities are in the same building as the apartment, so close enough to not have to put a coat on to reach them, but far enough away to not hear the chatter of any people using them. There is also a giant outdoor chess / draughts board, games room with table football, a pool table, cinema room (with a popcorn machine), Playstation room, outdoor play area, 9-hole putting green and an 18-hole mini golf course. There are 4 electric vehicle charging points on site. The apartment is within easy travelling distance of Ullswater, Keswick and Windermere and is a great base to explore the Lake District, especially if you’re looking for hotel amenities with the flexibility of self-catering.
There is a shop on site at Reception selling milk, bread, butter, condiments, snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, toilet rolls, toothbrushes & tooth paste as well as takeaway teas and coffees from 8am to 8pm daily.
The nearest shop off site is Basecamp North Lakes / Cocklakes shop, just under 2 miles away, on the opposite side of the A66 to the Sportman’s Inn (postcode CA11 0SG). They sell locally-sourced milk, eggs, cheeses, sausages and meats, butter, bread, jams, marmalades, chutneys, sauces, honey & peanut butter, muesli, coffee, cakes (including vegan) and delicious Mediterranean delicacies. There is also a cafe serving breakfast and lunch - sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soups, toasties and deli boards as well as Sunday Lunch. They also have alpacas!
Netflix, Prime and other streaming channels are accessible on the TV to use with your own log ins. Or if it's easier, bring a firestick and plug into the HDMI port. There is also a DVD player with a selection of DVDs and a digital clock radio with bluetooth speaker, wireless phone charger and USB port. For the warmer days and nights when we have the occasional heatwave there is a portable fan.
There is a lounge, which is a quiet space where guests can relax and enjoy drinks. There are board games and books, as well as two office-style working desks for any guests who may need a workspace outside of their apartment.
My guidebook has lots of ideas for places to visit, hikes, walks, forests, lakes, outdoor activities and places to eat in the area (you’ll find the guidebook in my profile).
As the second bed is a sofabed, the apartment is suitable for either just 2 adults or 2 adults with 1 or 2 children up to the age of 12. A travel cot and high chair can be supplied for younger children if required.
Although no pets are allowed on site we can recommend the nearby 5* kennels - Berrier Boarders.
Whitbarrow ask for each guest's home address, email and mobile to accept a booking.
Guest access
There is a lift access and stairs to the apartment on the first floor, but if fire alarms are activated, the lift will be unoperational, so is not ideal for anyone who is unable to use the stairs in such an event.
There is a large free car park for your use and disabled parking bays located closer to reception if required. There are also 4 electric vehicle charging bays near reception.
Other things to note
The pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and gym are open from 8am -7.45pm every day (the last 45 minutes of the day are an adult only swim session). Maximum of 30 guests in the pool area and no limit in the gym. You book a session in the pool area via a link we send.
