First, I was disappointed to find that the claim of “breakfast included” was misleading. Upon arrival, I learned that no breakfast was provided, which was a significant letdown, especially since I had planned my mornings around enjoying a meal at the inn. This lack of transparency regarding amenities needs to be addressed. Additionally, I encountered a tray in living room meant for snacks, but it was filled with expired items, including bars and half-and-half milk, raising concerns about food safety and indicating a lack of attention to detail. Expired on 2023? February 2024? Another inconvenience was the absence of phone connectivity on the property; only Wi-Fi was available. While some guests may prefer to disconnect, it was frustrating to be unable to make calls or access cellular data when needed, which could be problematic for navigation or emergencies. While the setting of Bamboo Valley Inn is beautiful and the ambiance lovely, these issues significantly detracted from my overall experience. I believe that with better communication regarding amenities and improved attention to food safety and connectivity, this inn could truly shine. For now, I advise potential guests to be aware of these shortcomings before booking their stay."

Located near the road to Hana we are ideally situated for exploring this side of Maui. We are on agricultural land and grow bananas and citrus. For breakfast we provide bagels, eggs, yogurt, waffles, oatmeal, bananas, coffee and tea. Breakfast is self serve do it yourself and available anytime. We live on the property and are available at all times for questions and assistance. We are available for one night minimum stays.

One other thing to note is that while we spray quarterly for pests we can get insects in the house. We also have geckos occasionally inside too.

This is a large, two story house with the owners living in part. You have a private entrance, one bedroom and full, private bathroom plus decks front and back.
Located at 2600 ft elevation on the west slope of Haleakala, this is a quiet neighborhood with great views of the ocean and the mountains. There are no kitchen or laundry services, and our licensing prohibits us serving food. However, we provide a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and all the fixings and a variety of teas for your enjoyment.

Please read the amenities carefully, if it is not on the list we do not offer it. Please be aware that we only allow up to 2 people in the Garden Room. So if there is a child with you they count as 1 of the people. There is a very comfortable queen bed in the room but no extra bedding or bed. Please only book if there are 2 people coming. All guests must register. This is required at check in, so make sure both names are on the reservation.
WiFi is free, we make no guarantees and offer no compensation, for devices that will not work on our system. We will do our best to help resolve issues you may have.
We live in a remote area of Maui, and occasionally we may lose utilities. Most are restored within a few hours. But sometimes longer. We offer no compensation for these short interruptions. Please bear this in mind when you are booking.

Breakfast: We don't serve breakfast but in common kitchen: we have a large fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric tea pot, oatmeal, coffee, creamer powder, sugar, tea, hot chocolate, plates, bowls, cups and silverware for you. Plus a mini fridge in each room.

All new beds, furniture, lights, floors, windows, doors and decor. The restrooms have new toilets and vanities, floors and doors. Recently reopened, still offering promotional rates. 8 private bedrooms. Only your group in your room(s) and bathroom, unlike hostel style.

None of our rooms have AC, nor TVs and neither do any other places on our side of the island.
We do have free high speed internet for your Netflix/ etc. enabled devices. Free parking, no hidden costs.

ALL bathrooms are now for EXCLUSIVE use for each room or family.
Only for your use. We are NOT renting all 8 rooms, for your health and safety.
Upstairs rooms have mini fridges.

Out door patio/common areas for lounging and conversations, with social distancing ability.
Check-In.
We are self check in, although there is almost always a manager to answer questions. On the front porch/entry is a white board with room assignments, each with your name and room number. You will have an email with your electronic lock access.
Please use the chalk, and put a check-mark next to your name when you arrive. “√”
We are keyless entry, your room is left open. Please take a photo of the door code on the back of the door, and the little lever on the back/inside will lock/unlock the door as you desire.
Rooms 1-3 are downstairs, and enter through the living room door at the porch.
Rooms 4-8 are upstairs, and the stairway is right next to living room door, on the left.

Other things to note
Our downstairs rooms 1, 2 and 3 are the economy rooms. They are small, we keep them very clean. Room 4 upstairs is nicer than 1, 2 or 3, with a mountain view and corner. Rooms 5, 6 (Hana Bay View) and 8 are ideal for couples. Hana Bay View Room 7 is ideal for 3-6 people. Pricing varies based on the number of people. For your safety, once enough bedrooms have rented to each have a PRIVATE bathroom, we block the other rooms.
The outdoor patio and sitting areas are also common areas.
We take the Covid problem very seriously, and safety protocols will be followed. Wearing a mask when passing through the common areas, social distancing when sitting outdoors from other groups.
We are a BnB, but no breakfast during the times - there are wonderful breakfast food trucks 2-3 minutes driving time - or a 12 minute walk from Hana Inn.
