- "This was a magical experience. So private, beautiful, and serene. Loved all the employees as well. " - "I don't usually write a lot of reviews, but I specifically came back to this booking that we had in April of 2022 because I've thought about it so much since that stay. This was possibly the most idyllic setting I've ever had the pleasure of staying at; the grounds around the main property are like a movie set. It was impossibly pretty, and the hiking trail they set up around the multitude of tropical plants they grow there was a lot of fun to walk. We swam in the pool where the waterfall was flowing, but the water was a little too high to try and get up underneath the falls itself. We had a wonderful night's sleep away from the bustle of town; we slept with our windows open and during the night one of the house cats decided it wanted to sleep in the bed with us, so we made a little space for our new friend. If you're looking for a unique experience in Hilo I'd highly recommend this incredible property. We only stayed one night so I can't comment on a lot of the hospitality outside of the excellent breakfast we had, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that it would all be equally great. "

We enjoyed dinner in our room from the on-site restaurant where we also had breakfast prior to checking out. I highly recommend eating here and checking out the gift shop full of Hawaiian goods. Also, in the gift shop is a cooler of wine/beer which can be enjoyed in the comfort of your room. The staff was gracious enough let us borrow wine glasses and a corkscrew for the night. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay while visiting the national park. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!"

The protected outdoor surroundings add to the feeling of enjoying your own mansion on a leisurely morning. I'm talking about a full on breakfast with something for everyone. - "I don't usually write a lot of reviews, but I specifically came back to this booking that we had in April of 2022 because I've thought about it so much since that stay. This was possibly the most unique setting I've ever had the pleasure of staying at; this was a hobby farm filled with free-range animals that wandered all over the grounds. The portion the owner uses as a visitor space is a wonderful little apartment attached to one of their outbuildings. It had views of the pond and all the animals, yet we felt completely left alone (in a good way!) We had a wonderful night's sleep away from the bustle of town. If you're looking for a unique experience in Hilo I'd highly recommend this incredible property. They made us breakfast the following morning and it was wonderful. We only stayed one night so I can't comment on a lot of the hospitality outside of the breakfast we had, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that it would all be equally great. Fair warning; there is not much to do in the town of Volcano, so I'd suggest packing snacks and drinks if you're planning to stay for more than a few days. One other fair warning: This is in the rain forest; you may encounter muddy terrain so be careful if you have a cheapo rental car. We had a Jeep and had no issues. If you want a really neat experience with good hosts, don't hesititate to book this property. "

While the setting of Bamboo Valley Inn is beautiful and the ambiance lovely, these issues significantly detracted from my overall experience. I believe that with better communication regarding amenities and improved attention to food safety and connectivity, this inn could truly shine. Volcano apparently has them frequently, and they feel kind of like the wind is shaking the house. However they don't last long, and added to the sense of excitement and mystery of the stay. 5 minute drive to Volcanoes national park, 40 minutes to Walmart, Target, and cheap gas in Hilo. Access other areas in about 2 hour drives to the north east coast or west coast. Can't wait to stay again!"

The space
This studio space has one (1) King sized bed and its own attached private bathroom with a shower. There is no kitchen. However a microwave and keurig style coffee maker, and small fridge are available in your suite for your convenience.

Guest access
You’re welcome to use the patio on the back side of the house. You can reach it by following the sidewalk on the right side of the house around to the back.
Please do not use any other entrances other than the sliding glass door to access your studio.

The space
The 800 square foot cottage sits on 2 acres. The property is planted with Koa trees and a large variety of palms. A wide variety of hibiscus including the rare pure white immaculutus grow here too!(the only hibiscus with a scent).ylang ylang flowering plants line the driveway. This cozy cottage is tucked away on the front end of Lanikai and its location makes it walking distance to many great destinations. The view can't be beat. It's comfortable with all that you would need.

This room is large and is located on the main floor with two beds, a queen size and a full size bed, sitting area, frig, microwave, coffee, double doors lead out onto front lanai, with ocean view. Bathroom is dedicated but is also the bathroom for the living area on the main floor, not an ensuite. Double doors are also a private entrance to the room. An extra door gives you more private access to the bathroom. There is a futon that pulls out for an extra bed.

The space
Come stay with us at our 3 story 8,000 sq ft farm stay B&B. The structure is a custom home with 100% Bali teak and also includes custom wood designs on most of the interior walls with wood sourced from the island. All three stories have panoramic ocean views on the East side of the home and garden and waterfall/creek views on the West side. The top floor features a 1200 sq ft dining lani suitable for large groups. The top two floors are exclusively for guests, where you can have your privacy and enjoy the large living spaces shared only with 2 other guest rooms on the floor.

Guest access
The room has a locking private double doors to the front lanai and two locking doors to the main living areas. All guest rooms have access to the shared spaces on their floor which includes kitchen, dining, laundry, living room with large TV and panoramic views, large lanais on ocean and creek sides. All guests also can enjoy the dining lanai and game room on the top floor.

Our farm stay B&B is in the Pauka'a area, conveniently located 3 miles north of the quaint town of Hilo Hawaii, on the lush, east side of the Big Island. We are in a farming area, and have a 10 acre farm complete with cows, goats, sheep, pigs and chickens guests can see and visit, along with a whole host of wild birds that visit the feeders constantly and the occasional hawaii hawks and wild pigs.
