Private, peaceful & super cute tiny home in the woods, only 5 minutes to downtown Nelson. Cozy up on the cuddle chair, enjoy a wood burning stove and forest view. Use our mountain spring hot tub or book a woodfired sauna (+$50) & cold plunge for the ultimate Kootenay relax & refresh. Climb the ladder into the loft bedroom with queen size bed, book collection & fibre internet. Outside fireplace, full shower, plus hiking, biking & skiing trails nearby. Find your happy place at our mountain retreat
The Bees Knees in the Trees Tiny Home is a private cabin that shares 6 acres with our home.
The tiny house is the perfect place to relax and unwind. It has lots of homey comforts including board games, a library of good books, yoga mats, cookware and kitchen essentials (fridge, kettle, french press, toaster oven and hot plate, but no microwave or TV because it's Nelson!). Bring your laptop and enjoy fast and reliable 1gps fibre internet. A couch-friendly laptop station provided.
You'll snuggle up on a cozy cuddle chair from a wood fired stove, looking out into the forest. Climb the ladder up to the sleeping loft, fitted with shelves full of books and a comfy full queen bed. The bathroom has a full shower and saniflow flush toilet.
You'll have free access to a shared hot tub located behind the main house off the deck. You can also book an unforgettable woodfired sauna experience (with natural mountain spring cold plunge that runs Nov-Jul) for an additional set up and cleaning fee. You are going to love it.
We provide travel guides of the local area, magazines and useful resources to help you make the most of your time in Nelson. We are on hand to answer questions you might have about the area.
Note that this is a rustic-chic cabin with some limits in terms of access and amenities compared to city life. You'll need winter tires from Nov-March, it's primarily woodstove heated (free split firewood provided), and very rarely ( in -15c weather or below) the mountain spring water line can freeze if the fire is not lit and/or the tap left dripping - don't worry we'll remind you! There is no A/C, but it stays 5~10 degrees cooler than the city as we are nestled in the woods up Morning Mountain.
As it is a small space with a woodstove and a ladder-access loft, it is not ideal for infants or those with mobility challenges.
Please read the entire description or reach out before booking if you have any questions or concerns you in any way!
The tiny home is in a private part of the 6 acre property, about 100' from the main house and 100' from the neighbours'. Parking is right outside the front door on the sloped driveway, or lower down if you prefer flat parking.
We are super close to town, nestled uphill on Morning Mountain in a rural neighbourhood. You'll want to drive or bike into town for most errands. Driving is 4 minutes, Biking is 5 downhill and 15 uphill, walking is 25 down and 30 up (it's steep, but doable if you're fit). E-bikes are an ideal option to get around.
NOTE: Our driveway gets icy in the winter months (December-March) so be sure to travel with winter tires (required in the City of Nelson from October 1 to March 31st). You do not require AWD if you have good tires and can drive in the snow. Always use your parking brake and turn your tires when parked on a hill in any weather!
Other things to note:
A guest book will be provided for you on arrival.
We use our own mountain spring for drinking water. It's screened and UV filtered - and it's probably the best water you've ever tasted. Oh, please don't swim in the reservoir ;)
The wood stove will be your main source of heat in the winter, but there is a low-wattage heater to take the edge off. We'll provide wood and fire-starters to get it off and running. It will need occasional stoking to keep the place toasty, but the cabin is well insulated and will stay warm overnight.
Our flush toilet is a SANIFLO compact macerating toilet. Use like a regular dual-flush toilet (two buttons are on the top left). It grinds the contents, so just be sure that nothing other than TP and waste goes in the bowl.
While the space is not primarily set up for pets, we are open to inquiries! It is bring-your-own pet bed and bowls. Frequent family visitors have pet allergies so there is an extra pet cleaning fee. Please confirm that you've read the description and house rules before booking with any pet.
There is beautiful wildlife in the trees! This means all attractants must be safely secured in the cabin at night.
We back on to Morning Mountain, which is Crown land. This means we get frequent deer, less frequent coyotes and sometimes bears in spring or fall. And lots of wild turkeys!
Responsible fires in a cute outdoor fire pit are allowed when there is no fire ban (please check online or with us first!). Fire bans are common from mid-July to September.
We have a spare hammock, usually set up in the dry season—or if you'd like to set one up just ask.

- "We really enjoyed the property. There are short hikes around the property, that you can link up to longer hikes if you choose. About 20 minutes from Nelson. There are a few cabins on the property, but very private and not all too close to each other. It was very quiet and easy to get to more urban areas if you choose. We stayed here with two adults and our 5 year old and all had a great time. We will definitely come back and highly recommend. It's not for everyone, but if you like being a bit disconnected and enjoy being away from the crowds this place is great. Wifi works well but no TV which is what we wanted."

Our place is intentional, peaceful, cozy, and beautiful at all times of the year. Located 15 minutes from Castlegar and 40 minutes from Nelson. The cabin is on 7 acres of land, surrounded by nature. It has been used as our own little getaway and we now want to share it with others. Access to climbing, hiking, biking, swimming, and snowmobiling is all within 10 mins of driving. Use this as a base camp to explore all that the Kootenays has to offer, or seclude yourself in a forest getaway.
- "Amazing hosts! The cabin is situated on a beautiful piece of property set among the idyllic countryside of Castlegar. An easy commute to town and beautiful attractions within the area. We enjoyed our morning coffees on the front porch listening to the everfesscent sounds of spring, an onithologists dream. Evening visits of statueseque elk that grazed upon the fauna. Perfect picture moments. The cabin itself is well designed, perfect for a couple and the host were accomodating with our 2 young pups. Wifi was excellent for use, no cell phone use in area, but easily fixed by setting your phone to wifi calling. Definetly a wonderful stay!"

Idyllic getaway! A cozy 2-bedroom cabin that sleeps 4 with a full kitchen, open living area, and deck for BBQs is perfect for a relaxing vacation. Pristine views of Redstone Resort golf course located on the 1st tee box, it's a golfer's dream. The proximity to the clubhouse and parking makes it convenient, while the gas fireplace adds warmth and charm.
Having a queen bed in one bedroom and two twin beds in the other offers flexibility for different sleeping arrangements, making it suitable for families or groups of friends traveling together. A fully stocked kitchen allows for easy meal preparation, while the comfortable living space provides a cozy spot to relax after a day of activities. The rain shower adds a touch of luxury for unwinding, and the in-suite washer and dryer is convenient for longer stays. And of course, the BBQ and deck with views of the 1st tee box and fairway provide the perfect setting for outdoor gatherings and enjoying the scenery. With parking for 2 vehicles, it's convenient for guests to come and go as they please.
Nestled near mountain bike trails for outdoor adventures and wildlife watching is a fantastic addition to the cabin's charm. And having Rossland just a short drive away for boutique shopping and exploring adds another layer of adventure. The combination of outdoor activities and access to amenities like great restaurants truly offers something for everyone. It's the ideal retreat for a group of four seeking a blend of relaxation, adventure, and local charm.
Cabin & deck is guest use only
Available by phone/text and email. Available in person if needed.
Redstone Resort Golf Course and residential area
Located on Redstone Resort's 1st tee box it is 5 minutes from Rossland and 10 minutes to Trail.
- "If you’re going to be golfing at Redstone you can’t get any better than this. Located right on the first tee box you can walk out to your tee time and strut back after your perfect round without having to drive anywhere. Nothing fancy but has the essentials. Perfect for our group of 4 and will definitely be coming back. "

Experience breathtaking natural beauty in the heart of the Kootenays. This enchanting, mystical geodesic dome has amazing acoustics and is surrounded by cedar forest and a flowing creek.
Features a full kitchen, clean bathroom, tub and shower; and ample space for movement, yoga, or meditation. Stay warm by the fire and listen to the sounds of the flowing creek, far from the bustle of modernity. A writer or artist's dream!
Sitting outside, you'll be comforted and soothed by the sound of the bubbling creek.
This is an ideal retreat for restoration, decompression, relaxation, or healing; intentionally tucked away from the electromagnetic smog of modernity. All rooms are television free. Cell signals are available by walking down the driveway. Reliable Wifi.
The kitchen features a great gas stove, spacious refrigerator, and a nice sink for handwashing. There is no dishwasher, however.
We chose to maximize open floor space for movement and to utilize floor seating and cushions instead of normal couches.
*** The separate lower suite of the dome is not included, but may be made available upon request, for an additional fee, is extra space / rooms are needed. ***
Close to world class hiking, skiing, and backcountry adventure in the awe-inspiring old growth ecosystems, waterfalls, and glaciers of Kokanee Provincial Park.
Cleaned with natural, ecological non-toxic products, and we recycle and compost to take care of the earth as best we can!
The dome is only a 30 minute drive from the charming art town of Nelson and 45 minutes to the quaint town of Kaslo. 10 minutes from the Balfour ferry to Crawford Bay artisans and restaurants.

- "The place was great, tiny cabin on a lot with guest-shared bathroom and kitchen. Great location, close and overlooking Nelson. Lovely little patio. My only complaint was that we got there right after a long hike and I really wanted a hot shower and there was some large scary bugs in the shower. But that can’t be helped in a kind of outside bathroom. The host was great and gave us great recommendations on things that were happening in Nelson. "

COVID19 - Our Response:
We are fortunate that we have the space to welcome our guests on a 42 acre property tucked in the forest, with no common areas and each cabin distanced from the others so everyone can keep to themselves.
However, as long as covod-19 remains with us we understand you may still have some questions or concerns regarding your future travel plans. We constantly strife to address and accommodate those as best we can. As of now the following measures have been taken to minimize any risk and exposure and allow our guests maximum flexibility. We will continue to adapt as the situation unfolds;
Strict adherance to the latest hotel & hospitality industry guidance as issued by the BC Centre for Disease Control, Work Safe BC and the BC Hotel Association.
Limit accommodation to guests free of corona virus symptoms. We do accept reservations for the purpose of self isolation.
Adjusted check-in and check-out times of 4 pm and 10 am respectively, to allow for airing out and intensive cleaning practices between cabin turn-over.
Self check-in & check-out available. For those requiring assistance, we can drive your luggage to your cabin with our utility vehicle but kindly request guests to load/unload the vehicle themselves.
Closing of our reception area, all invoicing & payments will be done electronically.
Frequent deep-cleaning and disinfection, especially high-touch hot spots, appliances and frequent-use surfaces. As we operate without staff we can assure our guests things are done as they’re supposed to at all times.
We continue to practice self isolation as much as possible and physical distancing with everyone, including our guests.
Housekeeping during your stay will be limited to the provision of fresh linens/towels and garbage removal only, to be picked up from / delivered to your porch. We will not enter your cabin during your stay.
Extra provisions of hand soap and disinfectant cleaning materials is made available in all our cabins. We kindly ask our guests to use both during their stay, especially when returning from places frequented by other people.
Aforementioned measures will continue to apply to all our guests including those having received their covid-19 vaccination(s).
Adjusted Cancellation Policy:
In case of any federal and/or provincial government mandated travel bans: Free cancellation.
In case of any federal and/or provincial government mandated travel advisories: Free cancellation up to 30 days before your scheduled arrival date. Within 30 days or less, our regular cancellation policy applies.
Travel advisories can not be accepted as grounds for free cancellation for any bookings made whilst same advisories were already in effect.
Any other reasons (incl. any personal covid related issues): regular cancellation policy applies.
As a hotel accommodator we are officially considered an essential service and as such remain open to the public. We strongly recommend all our guests to appraise themselves of the most recent guidelines and advisories prior to making a reservation. We further ask our non-local guests to adhere to the latest travel restrictions and where travel is allowed for essential reasons to limit stops during your journey as much as possible and to bring your own supplies and groceries for the duration of your stay.
