- "Amazingly clean cabin! Property was quiet, well maintained and beautiful!" - "This is a recording stay for us several times a year and we always enjoy it! " - "We atayed here for three nights and everything was great. The cabin was clean and large for two bedrooms. It had a lot of plates, pots, pans, a charcoal grill, a propane grill and a firepit. The internet was decent (able to watch netflix on TV without issues and had wifi for the phone), although we spent more time around the firepit. The location is admittedly remote, which is part of the point of booking a cabin or campsite in this area. There are a couple of restaurants, a grocery store, etc in Thorp, about 15 miles north. However we cooked most of our meals on the grills provided. The man-made lake/pond next to the cabin is small, but still fun (for a small raft for the kids or catch and release fishing off the pier). The resort is located between two lakes (Mead Lake, 5 miles away, and Rock Damn Lake, 10 miles) that have larger beaches and fishing areas. We went to both, and I would recommend Rock Damn."

• If you want a night out, there are two taverns that serve food just across the lake.

Rock dam is our favorite place ." - "Pictures do not do the cabin justice! We loved the kitchen island and when in doors spent most of our time there. Our stay was during the week, so the lake was quiet and peaceful. It was getting quite busy by the time we left on Saturday (4th of July weekend), but this gave us a chance to meet the neighbors, and everyone was most pleasant. After reading some of the other reviews I will add our thoughts: 1) the MINIMAL cleaning that is requested is simply picking up after yourself...something we all should do anyway. 2) the cleaning fee...please consider this cost may be to help cover the cost of all the "little items" that are provided...toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, propane, etc. Ernie was most responsive any time we needed to reach out and the cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed. When they say all that is needed is your food and clothing they are not kidding. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our entire experience and are already thinking of a winter get-a-way at the cabin!"

- "This is such a beautiful property. The accommodations are like new. The access to the lake is a very well maintained 55 steps away. There are rafts and kayaks to use along with a floating dock to relax on. Checking in was a dream. There is a code on the door that is sent to you the day you check in. There is a tv in the living room with complimentary Appletv and board games to enjoy. There is also a little patio with a fire pit where we roasted marshmallows with provided roasting sticks hanging on a nearby tree. In walking distance, there is a local, friendly bar and a few steps further a beautiful supper club with excellent food. You are also just a few driving minutes away from great breweries, restaurants, ice cream parlors and shopping. We didn't see our host or hostess which was absolutely ok because if you need anything just shoot them a message and they get right back to you. We will definitely keep this in mind for future getaways. Already talking about bring our adult children back with us some day. This place sleeps 8 very comfortably. - "Sherry was a great hostess and the Lone Birch cabin was very peaceful and quiet, which was welcome after a day at a loud music festival. The cabin was cozy and it was fun to go out on the lake with the tandem kayak. We must not of read the description closely and came with food to prepare several meals. We were able to pivot and use the fire pit or microwave for cooking instead. It was wonderful to wake up to a chorus of birds or sit next to the fire in the evening and watch the sun set in the distance. Highly recommended!"

It was homey and outfitted with about anything you could want to make the stay comfortable. We loved its closeness to the water! The weather wasn't very accommodating but I did get to sit in the sun for an hour or so the day before checkout. I loved the sound of the water and the views of the lake as I enjoyed the sun! We really appreciated that there were privacy fences between the cabins. And the fact that it was very handy if you wanted to fish. The guy next to us seemed to be having a great time fishing! All in all it was a great experience and in the future we won't hesitate to go back if we have the opportunity."

Kayak season is here! Very Clean and Unique place to take the family on vacation or a group of friends (large group rates and accomodations available) We are located in Cornell, Wisconsin. Visit Brunet State Park for some paddling around the islands, less than a mile from cabin. Or kayak the Chippewa River....portage across the road. We have some of the best waters around. Old Abe biking trail runs from Cornell to Lake Hallie (about 40 miles of paved trail) is less than 1/4 mile from cabin for enthusiast bikers and for the hikers, the Ice Age Trail passes in front of the cabin on CC road. We are across the blue bridge on outskirt of town which has plenty of places to eat, within 1 mile radius. And if you love history, stop in to the visitor center located across the blue bridge, in Mill Yard Park. Great place to unplug and enjoy the outdoors again. The area offers seasonal outdoor recreation......fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, snow shoeing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing.
We have added a gas grill and also have a wood fire pit and propane fire pit on the covered deck.

The ONLY thing (if I had to find something) that wasn’t perfect was the TV in the bedroom wouldn’t work, but with sunshine & so much else to do it didn’t really matter. They even had ice and 4 frosty mugs in the freezer!! I never had a need to reach out to the property manager. I look forward to coming again in the future."

- "The windy tree-lined road leading out to the cabin got us so excited! You'll want to make sure you have front wheel drive, the quarter mile path to the cabin has a couple steep turns! We pulled up on a quaint little cabin with a beautiful patio looking out to the pond. We enjoyed quiet nights under the stars around the fire. The S'Mores kit was so cute and definitely got used! Plenty of firewood. They had several camping chairs and a grill for us to use. The place was clean and cozy. Plenty of pillows and blankets. The bed we slept in was a little firm but we still slept well. A fan for each room was nice. There were clean towels and washcloths and essential soap/shampoo/conditioner. No condiments (salt & pep) but all the pots, pans, ice tray dishware, and cutlery you should need. Coffee pot/keurig and coffee was much appreciated. They even had koozies which always come in handy! There weren't any cards, dice, or games which would've been a nice touch. The owners took the initiative to install an AC unit as we were seeing high 90's during our stay that was so kind and much appreciated to have an escape from the heat. The owners were kind, helpful and easy to communicate with but also left us to our privacy and seclusion. The hiking trails were nicely mowed and mapped out. We had a lovely time and would 100% stay here again. This is probably our favorite Air B&B/VRBO experience we've ever had due to its unique quaint setting."

Two bedroom lakeside cabin, just 3 miles east of Chippewa Falls at the Hideaway Resort, one of 6 cabins (10 miles from Eau Claire) with easy self check in, close to Hwy 29, Hwy 53 and I-94. Grocery store/liquor store, gas, fishing tackle, boat launch all conveniently located within one mile.

This 740 square foot cabin, built in 1956, features beautiful views of Lake Wissota, just 30 feet away, looking east with low elevation access to the lake. The interior consists of a fully equipped kitchen, a queen sized bed in each bedroom and full size fold out futon, cable TV/DVD player, wireless internet, AC, on site laundry and bed linens/towels furnished.

Outdoor features include a patio, picnic table, lawn chairs, charcoal grill and campfire ring. (Firewood furnished for a nominal fee).

We did some ice fishing and some snowshoeing. The owners made the cutest ice skating rink right outside our cabin. This literally is the perfect hideaway. This completely renovated 1200 sq. ft. plus loft space, lake cabin has everything inside and out for the perfect lake vacation any time of year.

The home features 1 bedroom, with a large loft that has 1 queen, 1 full, 1 futon, 1 full bath, 1 family rooms with another futon, open concept kitchen, large front yard, large patio, grill, fire pit, dock, and large, private shoreline. The kitchen is nicely equipped for all your cooking needs. Plenty to do inside: internet, TV, board games, movies. The home is furnished with everything you need, just bring your fishing poles! Oh, wait we have them too, if you forget yours!

Lake Wissota is conveniently located just an hour and a half east of the Twin Cities. The home is within walking distance of a public beach and three restaurants. If you fish, this is the place for you. The lake has musky, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, sturgeon and catfish. It's a quiet lake during the week and an active one on the weekends. There are 5 waterfront restaurants/bars on the lake that you can boat right up to. If you want a day off the lake, take a tour of the historic Leinenkugel Brewery or visit Irvine Park Zoo. Both are just 10 minutes from the lake. Don't forget your golf clubs and bike. There is a public golf course on the lake and the area features great bike trails. This is also the perfect winter get-a-way for winter sports lovers: great ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, and cross-country skiing!

This is the ultimate camper cabin overlooking Lake Pepin. The half wall and screen cabin has huge sliding windows to catch the breeze and the sound of the waves rolling on to the beach.

Camp Pepin is a summer camp located on Deer Island, outside of Stockholm, Wisconsin. Enjoy the backwoods trails, disc golf, family games in the field by the lake and bonfires for your group right by your cabin.

This cabin does not have plumbing, so your bathroom is the bath house 100 yds across our well manicured lawn to the Lower Dining hall. The bath house has 5 bathroom stalls and 4 showers, and a bank of 5 sinks with mirrors. This bathhouse is is a community bath house to be shared with other guests camping on site.

This is a camper cabin and you will have a designated fire pit and picnic table. We will have a barrel cooler of water ready to go for you, and wood available for purchase. You can also bring a camp stove or small grill for outside, and you may plug in a hot plate or electric griddle to cook as well.

You will have access to camp's canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Make sure to bring a life jacket, as we have many children's jackets to choose but have a smaller selection of adult sizes.

You may drive across the lawn to unpack your vehicle and then park your car on the large lot off the side of the main road. There is a boat landing just down the street on Deer Island and we have room for you to part your trailer on site. Our dock is designated for day use only and only has room for one boat; it is not recommended to beach overnight or in high winds as the waves can build and pummel the shore.

Ys 2 Left is located on the property of Camp Pepin, on the beautiful shores of Lake Pepin. This is a custom camper cabin that has its own attached bathroom with shower.

The property is approximately 40 acres with a large manicured open space, amphitheater, and stairs down to the expansive 100+ yard beachfront on Lake Pepin. When you camp at Camp Pepin, you can enjoy the beach, your own fire pit area with picnic table and patio chairs, access to our canoes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards (weather permitting) as well as life jackets. We also have a disc golf course in our 20 acre woods!

The neighboring Mississippi River villages and towns offer exquisite dining, hiking, evening entertainment, shopping and sailing charters! There is so much to do if you desire, and so little to do if you choose to wiggle your toes in the warm sand, watch the sailboats go by and enjoy a book on the beach. The birds here are great too!

Camper cabins require that you bring your own sleeping bag or bed linens, towels, camp stoves or cook tops, pans, etc.

Faith Cabin is located on the 40 acres of Camp Pepin, a summer resident camp. There are trails and disc golf in the back woods and 200 feet of beach to enjoy and hunt for agates. There is a fire pit designated just for you with a picnic table. We have canoes, paddle boards and kayaks, along with life jackets available for guest use. Camper cabins require that you bring your own sleeping bag or bed linens, towels, camp stoves or cook tops, pans, etc. Faith Cabin has an attached bathroom.

Welcome to the Lumberjack Shack! Step back in time and experience the rustic charm of this 100-year-old popple log cabin near Rock Dam Lake, and campground! Once the sleep shack for the WPA workers, the cabin was drug to it's resting spot on Windy Creek where it still sits today. Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin's lush forest, this location offers endless miles of ATV, & snowmobile trails with access just up the road. Beach, two bars, waterfall, small store & campground just a couple minutes walk! Outisde the cabin you will find Windy Creek offering opportunites to watch beaver, ducks, birds, & other wildlife. Row boat, and two kayaks on premises for guest use, the inlet bay is not connected to the lake unless you venture through the culverts on kayaks which people have done!! The screened in porch is a great place to relax, and the lot is very private. A true "cabin" experience with modern amenities!

- "We stayed here over memorial weekend and we were the first renters for the house! The house was equipped with everything we needed and nicely decorated. We loved kayaking on the lake, bon fires at night, cards in the screened in porch, grilling on their new grill, star gazing and just enjoyed being away from a busy city with our two dogs. Shannon was very helpful and responsive; we did have an issue with the water heater but being a holiday weekend there wasn’t much Shannon could do, we still made the best of the trip! There’s a bar and grill across the street where allot of locals on ATV’s like to hang out at. Everyone was very friendly and it was nice that they sold firewood! We could hear another bar down the street had a live band playing music on Saturday night, it wasn’t too loud, but we enjoyed hearing the music and it ended before quiet time. Overall, I would highly recommend, and we had a great relaxing time!"

Y's 2 Right is located on the property of a residential summer camp. Camp Pepin is located on Deer Island on the shores of beautiful Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River. Y's 2 Right features an attached bathroom and shower in the cabin, plus an adjacent room with bunk space, a small sofa and a (decorative during the summer) fireplace. All of our camper cabins include a dedicated picnic table, fire ring, porch chairs, a fan, a water cooler and a folding table.

Y's 2 R sits under the largest Red Pine on the camp property - providing shade and a great location for a hammock with a beautiful view of the lake.

Located at a summer camp that sits on 40 acres, with an extensive backwoods to enjoy, this camper cabin includes a picnic table, fire ring, folding table, coffee maker, and folding table. The cabin has bunks to sleep10 people, with a bathhouse only a 100-yard walk from the door.

Thank you." - "My family of four came to stay at Camp Pepin to get some much needed time in nature and a little break from the stresses of the world. Boy, was this the perfect place for exactly that. We spent two days of pure relaxation paddling Lake Pepin in canoes, paddle boards, and kayaks supplied for free by the camp, eagle watching, relaxing by the campfire, and spending quality time together. Sunsets on the water were a stunning and inspiring end to each day. The water is merely steps from the cabin and can be seen out some of the cabin windows. All paddling supplies are down at the waters’ edge, so no hauling of supplies is needed. The staff at Camp Pepin were attentive to our every need, such as bringing us fire wood, prepping our watercraft, and answering questions about the area. The cabin itself is a camper cabin, so nothing fancy, but everything you need for a low effort camping trip. Fans were supplied in the cabin to cool things off, though I do recommend bringing your own as well to boost the circulation. The bathroom for this cabin is across the common field area and you have 4 toilets and 4 showers exclusively for your group. We found this to be really nice, as we could take our kids in and hose them off before bringing them back to our cabin! Also, in the same building as your bathroom is a game room with ping pong, board games, and carpetball that were great for some family play time. Plenty of cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, and rules about sanitation and safety were posted and available throughout the grounds, including those to clean off games after use. We felt completely safe in regard to COVID 19 while at Camp Pepin. We highly recommend a visit to Camp Pepin and a stay in Bergwall cabin, it could not have been a better stay!"

You'll have 2 small cordwood cabins all to yourself. One is a writer's retreat with a queen futon bed, large desk, and ergonomic Aeron chair. The other is a cold shower/kitchen. There's a portable toilet. It's comfortable enough to be productive– rustic to create a unique, camp-like experience. The kitchen has a small fridge, a hot plate & toaster oven.

The cabins are part of Crazy Rooster Farm and Amish Telephone Booth and Sacred Blossom Farm. A 60-acre Permaculture-inspired farm with grazing cattle and medicinal herb production.

Guest access
You'll have exclusive use of the two little cordwood buildings and the acre lot. You're also welcome to roam around the farm. Ask for directions and instructions on where cattle are grazing and which gates you can access.

Other things to note
Experience the beauty and simplicity of Amish life! Stop by the quaint roadside organic produce stands, or take a dip in the Buffalo River. Nearby pizza farms and other fun places to go for quick excursions.

There is electricity in both cabins and a small electric heater to take the chill off in spring and fall. Note that this is a rustic cabin so we do get Asian beetles in the spring, boxelder bugs, and flies. They are harmless, but we must warn you they might inspire a poem or a song. The small kitchen is equipped for one or two people to prepare simple dishes. The shower isn't heated, so it's an invigorating experience.

If you like nice hotels, this may not be for you. If you're okay with sleeping in your car... this is The Ritz.

If you get bored and want something to do, we may be able to find some wood for you to stack, a garden to weed, or a barn to muck out.

Access to the lake is not maintained and is steep. Shallow draft boats can reach dock. No pontoons or boats with big outboard. Dock is in rough shape and not maintained.

Gorgeous little house with cap cod feel, right on the water. We call this baby "Water's Edge on Tainter Lake". Perfect way for a quick escape from the Twin cities, only 50 minutes away. Fish off the permanent dock on the water. Beautiful views and sunsets on a fun, active recreational lake. Short boat ride to Jake's super club. Some guests say its a "private location", but we are on a very active lake with houses close by. Please read our "other details to note" for more info.

The space
We want you to feel at home and be comfortable at our beautiful little oasis from the cities on the fabulous and fun Tainter Lake. We have a hot tub in the basement in a room that was the old boat house, which is heated and has a garage door that opens up to the lake. The hot tub is usable all year round. The fireplace is an electric fireplace, not gas.

Caveat: If you are interested in coming in July, Aug and early-mid September please note that the lake can get very, very green, which means water and swimming quality is not good. If you have a boat there are areas that the locals go to swim, but without a boat, swimming during these months is not recommended. Just to note: the house is smaller and taller so it has many stairs going upstairs and going to the basement the stairs are very, very steep. The outdoor sidewalk slopes down to the lake and not recommended to be used in the winter, but access to lake is still available from inside the house to the basement door. Our house is not recommended for those with limited mobility.

Take a break and unwind on the Flambeau River in Holcombe in this 2 bed, 2 bath home with large riverfront yard. There are plenty of outdoor activities to do in this area year-round. Great fishing whether you choose to go on the rivers or to the main lake. The boat landing is a straight shot 2 miles down the road. Canoe and tubes are available for use. Hop on your snowmobile and go straight from the yard onto the river to access miles and miles of trails.

This retro, but modern A-frame cabin is tucked neatly into a wooded hillside, overlooking a peaceful river, near Menomonie, WI. ~1 hour from the Twin Cities.

The space has been revived by lovers of architecture, design and the great outdoors as a quiet getaway for couples or friends looking to slow down and reconnect.

The space
The 800 sqft space is ideally sized for 1 to 4 people, but there are beds for up to 6. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed and a view of the woods (and the deer that graze most mornings if you’re awake early enough.)

The loft is what slumber party dreams are made of. From any one of the 4 twin beds the morning views of the sun rising over the river are special. Access is via a library ladder.

The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dishware and utensils, common cooking spices, olive oil, salt and pepper and a few days worth of complimentary coffee beans with grinder and filters.

The refrigerator, freezer and gas stove are "apartment sized"; smaller than "standard" but larger than "mini".

The living room has a Jotul gas stove for the cold months, however the forced air heat in the winter (and central air in the Summer) are sufficient to condition the space to your liking.

As mentioned, the property isn’t suitable for those with mobility challenges or an aversion to light activity.

To access these peaceful, private surroundings you’ll walk 150 feet downhill on a gravel path with your personal items. Hiking back up only takes a minute but it’s enough to get your blood pumping! Especially with a weekender bag over your shoulder. A cart is available in the summer, and a sled in the winter, to assist with this part of the adventure.

If this doesn’t sound like a fit for you, please don’t book A-frame DGP. That said, for many of our guests, this adds to the uniqueness and privacy of the experience, and the cabin itself is a lovely reward for a small amount of additional effort as you walk through the trees. Hot tip: do pack accordingly (read: lightly!)

AWD / 4WD vehicles are required November through April. The driveway is plowed when 4+ inches of snow falls, but the timing is variable so we can't guarantee driveway conditions. Spring rains can create muddy spots where a 2WD vehicle could become stuck. Thank you for understanding.

Other things to note
The cabin was just equipped with high speed WiFi. You'll be able to stream to your hearts content on your devices, but truthfully this is more of a books, bourbon and campfire-conversation vibe. There is no TV.

Wildlife: this is a wooded area on river frontage. Yes, bugs and other forest critters exist here and should expect to encounter them.

Name: what’s with the name “DGP”, you ask? When we first visited the hand-built 1968 original A-frame, we noticed a carved sign above the door “Der Goofenoffen Platz” (translate that as you please; we’ll go with “The Goofing Off Place”) and knew that, despite the inevitable pronunciation challenges, the name must remain intact to preserve the original spirit of this lovingly crafted escape. We took the same approach with the renovation project: keep as much of the original character and mid-century vibe intact, while adding modern comforts and amenities (like, you know, running water, electricity and flushing toilets!)

Echo Point's guest cabin is a unique and tranquil getaway perched on the edge of the water with a grand view of Tainter Lake, about an hour east of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN.
This renovated cabin - originally built in the 1950's atop a boathouse - provides guests the feeling of being in the trees overlooking the lake. It is the perfect getaway to unwind in nature.

The space
Our 1100 sqft guest cabin is ideal for up to 5 people. The space consists of a great room - living, dining, kitchen - with a central see through fireplace, 2 bed rooms, sitting room (with day bed and second fireplace), bathroom, screen porch, lots of outdoor spaces (multiple decks), and lakeside fire pit. Two kayaks and SUP also available.

Guest access
The cabin is located 25 steps down through the woods to the edge of the lake and shares the nearly 2 acre property with owner's main lake house up on the bluff. The difference in elevation and surrounding woods afford ample privacy for everyone. Parking is at the front of the property roughly 300' from the top of the stairs down to the cabin (past the main house). Access for loading/unloading on the driveway is available, as well as a wagon or sled if desired.

Other things to note
Please note: the water drops off quickly at the shore and is about an 8 foot depth at the end of the dock. Also, at times in late summer there may be some algae that can accumulate. It is safe, but sometimes can be unsightly. Given these factors ours may not be an ideal swimming spot, but there are sand bars on the lake which are beautiful, and both the Hay and Red Cedar rivers that feed our lake are beautiful for kayaking (and swimming).

Welcome to Wissota Lakehouse, where you will feel at home the minute you walk in the door. This three bedroom, one bath home (main floor only, lower level is not rented) is on Little Lake Wissota. The three bedrooms (1 queen, 1 queen, 2 twins) accommodate a family of six or a group of friends. This is a very comfortable home with an outdoor fire ring, gas grill, picnic table, deck, canoe and dock for fishing or tying up a boat.

The space
Little Lake Wissota is part of the 6300 acre Wissota water and fishing paradise. This home has a fully equipped kitchen, TV, washer, dryer, dishwasher, free WiFi, back deck and central air. The location on a quiet cul-de-sac is not far from various eating establishments. The famous Leinenkugal Brewery and two wineries are close by for tours and tasting.
Across the road is Ray's Beach, a large public sand beach. The Old Abe (paved) biking trail offers great biking along the Chippewa River. Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls is a great place for families with a kid-friendly pool and petting zoo. Lake Wissota State Park is just across the lake offering swimming, picnicking, camping, hiking and biking trails and water rentals.
Area events include: Country Jam, Country Fest, Rock Fest, Eaux Claires Music Fest, Northern Wisconsin State Fair, Pure Water days and many other great events in the surrounding area. Check with Chippewa Area Chamber of Commerce for more detailed information.

Rock Dam Lake is a 118 acre lake located in Clark County, Wisconsin. It has a maximum depth of 10 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing and a public beach. Campground, playground and restrooms available to the public. Fish in this lake include panfish and largemouth bass. Notice: Dam located at West side of lake.

Beach, bar/restaurant/ice cream shop within walking distance of property. There is an additional bar/restaurant located on the other side of the lake.

Property is located in the heart of atv/utv country, snowmobile and horseback riding trails.

Welcome to our amazing getaway on the water! Our 1400 square foot cabin is on the Yellow River/Moon Bay, with direct access by boat to Lake Wissota. Dock is available for your boat or for you to fish, swim, or just sit and enjoy the view. Our cabin has a spectacular view of the water from the living room, a fire pit overlooking the lake, and a stairway of 24 steps that leads to the dock. Close to Wissota State Park.

Our cabin is cozy in the cooler months and so much fun in the summer!

The space
The original part of our cabin was built in 1920, but it is now a year-round updated house that has been added to over the years. (You will notice this has led to a funky but fun floor plan.)

We use our cabin quite a bit in addition to renting, so we have all the amenities we like: a kitchen with lots of cooking utensils and appliances (including dishwasher), washer/dryer, Wifi, plenty of parking, a small gas grill, and a three-season screen porch. Our TV has local channels and internet access (but no cable), and you can use our Netflix account or log into your service of choice.

Our internet service is excellent. We also have a new central air unit to keep the house cool even in the hottest days of summer.

Our cabin is safe for small children! Our waterfront is completely fenced and the stairs to the water are protected by a gate. We have a pack-n-play and a high chair (the kind that straps onto a kitchen chair) for use.

It is great for adults too! There are a number of seating areas (kitchen table, dining room table, pub-style table in the living room, three-season porch, deck, fire pit) so there is lots of space for friends to gather.

There is a boat landing that is perfect for canoes and kayaks (and small motorized craft) about a half mile down the road. Lake Wissota State Park has a larger boat launch just 3 miles away.

The fishing in our bay is amazing! Recently some friends caught walleye and bass while sitting on the dock.

And don't overlook fall, winter, and spring! We have a fabulous gas fireplace that makes our living room so cozy, so you can snuggle by the fire while gazing out the big bay windows at the frozen lake. We don't do it ourselves, but our neighbors say the ice fishing is great in our bay. Lake Wissota State Park has great cross country skiing, or many people ski or snowmobile on the frozen bay.

Our lakefront home is in the perfect location: it has an Up North feel without the long drive. Nestled in the quiet community of Altoona Lake, it's the charm of a small town only 15 minutes north of downtown Eau Claire.

The space
The Lakefront home is 2 bedrooms and 2 bath, with the master bedroom containing a queen-size select comfort bed. The private children's room contains 2 Twin-Over-Full Metal Gray Bunk beds with Ladders and Guardrails.
The home also contains a 65-inch smart TV for your streaming entertainment needs and a desk in case you need to get some work done. Wi-Fi included.
Our kitchen is fully equipped with cooking basics, a fridge, electric range, microwave, coffee maker, crockpot, blender, toaster, air fryer dishes, and utensils.

THE LAKE
Lake Altoona is a 720-acre lake located in Eau Claire County. It has a maximum depth of 25 feet. Visitors can access the lake from public boat landings, and a public beach. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Smallmouth Bass, and Walleye. The lake's water clarity is low. It's perfect for quiet fishing and relaxed boating.
This is truly a fisherman's paradise. Bring your own gear. Kids will enjoy catching sunfish right from the dock! There is also a paddle board available to explore and fish out on the lake. You are welcome to bring your own boat as well.

There is a public boat launch on our lake within walking distance of the home. Feel free to park your boat in our driveway, and load in each day at the lake access, just a few steps away. You are welcome to dock your boat at our dock. (Send us a message to see if your boat will fit.) Kayaks and paddleboards are welcome.
In the wintertime, you can skate and ice fish right out the backdoor. Bring your own gear. The backyard is the lake and is accessible right out the back door. There is also a huge sledding hill a mile away. Snowmobiles are welcome!
No Pets. We apologize that we cannot accommodate your pet and would be happy to point you to a local border. There will be a minimum $200 pet cleaning fee if evidence of a pet is found.
We are not responsible for accidents at the house or on the property. Use the lake at your own risk.

you can park up to 4 cars in the carports and driveway. There's also paid parking at the boat launch/Altoona Beach a 1 minutes walk to the house.

We want nothing more than your stay to be 5 stars, so we've listed a couple of things below that we think you should know and will help prepare you for your future stay!

-No smoking of any kind is permitted inside of the home.
There will be a mandatory penalty fee of $100 for the removal of any smoke detectors
-No parties or events.
-No weapons or firearms are permitted
-A maximum of 4 cars are allowed to park on the property
-No parking on the lawn.

IMPORTANT:

Please be advised that the guest will be required to provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID for verification. The minimum age requirement of the primary booking person is 21+ yrs old.

Again NO weapons NO drugs NO PARTIES allowed.

Please be mindful of quiet hours between 9 pm - 8 am each day.

Early check-in is upon request and a fee of $50

ONLY booked guests can be there at any time (unless discussed/approved and additional fees are paid in advance).
After 6 guests each additional person is a fee of $25 each.

Disclosure:
There are cameras installed throughout the building, (outside of the home) to see who comes in and out of the property. We also include noise monitoring devices to help see if it gets too loud in the home, (it can’t hear any conversations). This helps to protect the safety of each and every guest. If you have more questions about this please reach out.

Stays Longer Than 28 Days:
If you are planning to stay with us for more than 28 days, you will be required to sign a contract prior to arriving at the property. This is simply to make sure that all rules are followed.

This peaceful, 900+ sq. ft. lake cabin was built in the 1940s and offers simple comforts and rustic charm. It’s perfect for couples, families, or a few friends looking to unplug and spend time together.

The layout includes a curtain-separated main bedroom, and a front bunkhouse area with two twin beds, a queen bed, and an additional living space. The one bathroom, with shower, sink, and toilet, is located off the main bedroom.

This is not a luxury stay, but a relaxed place to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and make memories.

The entire house is yours to enjoy! While the garage and basement/work area are not accessible, they are securely blocked off, so there’s no guesswork about what’s available.

For waterfront access, the red dock is open for use, but please avoid the white dock as it is in need of repairs. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, you'll also have access to two kayaks, a canoe, a peddle boat and a small selection of life jackets.

There is a red A-frame garage on the property that is not available for guest use, but the property around it is fully accessible.

Other things to note
This lake is a haven for fishing, with its natural features like weeds, marshes, and submerged tree stumps creating the perfect habitat for fish. Its serene setting also makes it ideal for kayaking. While the water is clean, it’s not the best for swimming, and for safety reasons, water skiing is not recommended.
