- "The cabin was everything we where expecting BUT it was 25 degrees and there was NO propane for hot water or heat. We had to take the BBQ tank down to the gas station everyday to get propane. But again we loved the charm of the place. We would stay there again." - "The cabin is pretty cool if you like rustic (and I do), but it's not ready for VRBO guests. From the outset we ran into problems trying to connect to WiFi, which is particularly important since cell service in this area is severely limited. I was fortunate to have a strong enough signal to contact the property manager, with whom I spent the entire first evening trying to sort out the problem... they eventually gave up and told me they would resolve it the next day. I didn't hear from them until 9;30p the following day, with only a promise to get it resolved on day 3. It never got resolved.The lack cleanliness of the place made me slightly uncomfortable. The very first dish i took from the cabinet was dirty, and throughout our stay found the same issue with many utensils, dishes, and cookware. Bath linens were nice, but bed linens were old and difficult to certain of their cleanliness. We had two 12 year old girls with on this trip, and at least a dozen times I had to respond to their screams, terrorized as they can be by beetles they repeatedly encountered. I'm thinking a simple fumigation could have prevented this. At one point there was a pronounced smell of gas in the cabin... neither the property manager nor the owner seemed concerned when I alerted them to the issue. We left early, and I asked the owner to refund our final day and consider a discount for the previous day. He assured me he would address it with VRBO. I've heard nothing in weeks. "

- "First off, shout out to the host Carla! She is the best communicator. She made sure from the get that our stay would be everything we hoped for. She let us know of the road conditions, weather and cabin amenities in advance so we are prepared...like who does that, she's just fab! The drive to the cabin was the best drive up to the mountains, seriously no crazy ups and downs or side to side roads to get there. The cabin is located in a beautiful private neighborhood. My family was hoping for a snowy Easter and it's just what we got and we were well prepared thanks to Carla. This cabin had the perfect slopes for sledding. Inside the cabin there is these windows in the living room with the BEST open view to mountains, it'll take your breath away! This cabin had the cutest rooms and bathrooms perfectly decorated and filled with all the necessities. I can go on and on of how amazing this cabin and our stay was but you all just have to see for yourselves. - "Just what we were looking for as a last minute getaway. A short drive from the city but it feels like worlds away. There are very few stores close by but they had everything we needed. A 45 min drive over to Reyes Creek for the day was the cherry on top of the cake. Communication was excellent during a mix up with the booking process and continued to be great while at the property. Would visit again!" - "This cabin is adorable and super cozy. It is on the rustic side but had all the amenities to be comfortable and anything else I needed was promptly addressed. I especially enjoyed the peacefulness of having some tea on the front deck and the electric wood stove to warm up in the morning. It is a perfect get away from city life for those who don’t want to be too far from civilization. At night I could hear the crickets and coyotes in the distance which was really cool. Victoria and her husband were very friendly and thoughtful making sure I had everything. Unfortunately I had to cut my trip short because the altitude was getting to me which was an unexpected bummer. I would have loved to stay the duration I planned for. I left a few things at the cabin by mistake which Victoria offered to mail to me which was really thoughtful. I think this cabin would be especially enjoyable in the cooler months to cozy up with a movie and a fire."

Snow removal services are supposed to arrive within 24 hours of any snowfall more than 4+ inches, to clear the driveway and a pathway to the main entrance. Snow removal companies cannot guarantee a specific time the property will be serviced. Therefore, guests may have to shovel a spot to park if they arrive before the snow removal company or if it snows during their stay. There have been times in larger storms (2ft+ of snowfall) when snow removal can take longer. It doesn’t happen often, and our other guests have always been able to make it work. Just know that in those cases we are doing everything we can to get someone out there.

Please be aware that weather conditions can change rapidly especially during winter months. We are unable to honor last-minute cancellations due to weather/road conditions. Chains or 4WD/AWD vehicle requirements are often in effect in order to enter Frazier Park. Guests booking a stay in the winter should be prepared for the possibility of tire chains being necessary to travel to Frazier Park. This requirement is enforced by city officials and law enforcement. We recommend arriving before dark; guests arriving late during the winter months may encounter icy roads and long delays.

The upstairs area is relatively private (with full bath) making it possible for two families to enjoy together for a weekend in the mountains! The loft above the main bedroom is suitable for kids and can feel like a private fort to play board games. :) The front doors open to a deck suitable for cocktails or dinner with the propane, Coleman grill and handmade dining table. Enjoy stargazing on the deck or return inside for glass of hot cocoa by the fire. The open kitchen makes entertaining fun as you serve you family and friends on the homemade extended dining table. Finally, there is a wide screen projector system for watching movies over streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, etc). DVD / VHS player available, as well.

We have several trails which wind through the hills and pines on our property.

Seasonal waterfall and non-strenuous (mostly flat) local hike or bike ride (< 400 ft elevation gain)

Return to Boy Scout Camp Road and turn left. To shorten your hike by one mile in each direction, you can drive to the Camp Three Falls gate (where Boy Scout Camp Road dead ends) and park outside the Boy Scout Camp Three Falls property. Follow the access road on foot until you reach another gate. Follow this road to the waterfall, bearing left about one mile into the hike from the gate. If you continue straight/bear right at this junction, the trail leads to Mt Pinos ( 9.4 miles 3,900 elevation gain).

Buena Vista Lake is 60 miles away and offers boating and fishing.

There is an abundance of wildlife on the property. For the most part they are very wary of people, however to keep the "friendlier" wildlife wild and keep them from becoming a nuisance, please do not attempt to pet or feed them. A five foot chain link fence encloses 8 acres of the property. Please be mindful of wildlife if allow your pets off-leash.

Guests may walk and hike anywhere on the property. Beware of our private runway as you will not hear airplanes approaching to land. A map showing our trails is provided in the welcome binder. We ask however that guests do not climb on the tractor or the carriages as most are 100+ years old. The caretaker home porch (not occupied) and round pen viewing stairs are also blocked.

Other things to note
Well behaved animals are always welcome, both canine and feline. We just ask that they stay off the furniture and beds. For guests bringing horses, the cost is $60 per horse per stay.

Only an 80-minute drive from the San Fernando Valley & Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Los Padres National Forest, the newly remodeled 5-bedroom, 4-bath cabin is a great option for large families and features a full kitchen, an electric fireplace, a game room, a washer/dryer set, and a cozy patio right there in the middle of the nature. Just grab your coffee & enjoy.

The space
Located just 3 miles from the village center, the guests can easily access the village's amenities, including its charming restaurants and bakeries, the General Store, retail stores, fitness center, hair salon, gas station, and the community recreation center.

Picture the community rec center as the go-to spot in our neighborhood for all things fun and healthy. You've got your gym gear for a workout, pools for a splash, and hey, even tennis courts for a friendly match. Plus, they throw cool events and classes to mix things up. Whether you're a fitness fanatic or just want to chill with friends, the rec center's got you covered. It's like our very own clubhouse, where we all come together for a good time. Just a heads up regarding the community pool, a maximum of 6 guests (ages 9 & up) are allowed to the pool area at one time. Children ages 8 and under can accompany an adult. If the group is larger than six, you would need to share the cards and take turns using the pool. Please note that there is a minimal entrance fee with some of the community center amenities, such as golf and swimming pool.
