Cons: The lighting throughout needs to be replaced because it still felt dark even with all the lights on, and there were no curtains on the door windows. You can see everything from outside. The description on Expedia listed a washer and dryer as an amenity, which was one of the main reasons we chose this property. However, upon arrival and after contacting Expedia, a machine was not available on the property. A pack and play was featured in the photos, something we needed for our toddler, and it was confirmed that one would be provided for our stay. We asked when someone would be out to deliver it since it was already late in the day, and we were told not to worry - it would be handled in a timely manner so our stay would be comfortable. No one showed up to deliver the bed. The biggest issue was the garbage that was left in the front yard from the previous renters. A large trash bag with visible food discards just tossed to the side. We asked where we could dispose of it since we didn't want to attract animals, but were assured it would be promptly taken care of by the property. The bag was still there at checkout three days later - no one showed up the entire stay."

You can see in the photos no one had prepared the exterior of the property for guests in quite a while. One kitchen chair was missing the bolts that hold the pad down, and another had legs so loose it was not safe to sit in. That's half the chairs. There was a water disconnect notice in plain sight in the kitchen. The biggest problem was the broken hot water handle in the shower. As we all know, that's a 10 minute fix, but we found it in a broken state (pictured). It took the property manager 4 hours from the time we reported it at 8AM to complete the repair. The office never called us back and only spoke with us once assuring us someone would be there in an hour or less. It took 3 hours from then, and the office stopped answering our calls when we would try to get an update. The repairman said a handful of words, offered no apologies, and tracked dirt into the house before disappearing for another hour to get the new fixture, tracking more dirt into the house. Steer clear of any properties managed by DoorMat in Big Bear, unless that's how you like to be treated."

There was no lights going down the steps and they were covered with tree leaves so we slipped. But my biggest pet peeve about this place was how filthy the couches and rugs were. • Do you provide sheets and blankets? Yes, linens are provided for each bed in the cabin. They are professionally laundered, and beds made up for you when you arrive.

• Is there a place to do laundry? No, however there is a laundry mat located in the plaza for any unexpected cleans.

• How many towels should we bring? We provide one bath towel for every provided sleeping spot, i.e. beds for six, six bath towels, six wash clothes, plus hand towels. If the linens we provide are damaged, you will be charged accordingly.

• Where should I dump my trash? The City of Big Bear Lake requires renters to remove trash when they leave. Trash can be taken to Public Trash Sites (Clean Bear) The City maintains two public trash sites for trash and recyclable disposal to serve both residents and visitors. Locations: Fire House #2 (across from the Civic Center on Big Bear Blvd.) Big Bear Disposal, 41974 Garstin Road. If trash is left at the cabin, there will be a $25 fee per bag that we have to remove ourselves.

• Does the cabin have a full kitchen? Yes, the cabin comes with a full kitchen and is equipped with the following supplies: pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, flatware, and glasses! The cabin has an oven, microwave, and refrigerator. The cabin has a coffee maker. We ask that you empty the refrigerator when you leave. Please bring any supplies you think that you will need: aluminum foil, plastic wrap, storage containers, coffee filters, coffee, creamer, etc.

• Is there parking at the cabins? The cabin has room for two vehicles. There is no parking on the street. It is against the city ordinance, and you may be towed.

• Do you have a barbecue grill? The cabin does have a propane grill. If propane is empty please contact us. You may go to our local DIY and they will fill it. Just upload the receipt and we will refund you.

·Should we clean the cabin ourselves? The cabin is professionally cleaned after every stay. We do ask you to leave the cabin in the same condition you found it. Cleaners will charge extra for trash left and if dishes aren't washed.

• What do we do with dishes and soiled linens? The linens, towels, etc. may be left in the shower in the bathroom. Dishes, silverware, etc. need to be cleaned, dried, and put back into the cabinets/shelves. There is a $25 fee for any dishes that the cleaners have to wash and put away.

• When will I get my security deposit back? Security deposit is handled through Airbnb and is just a hold they place on the card for 48 hours after check out.

• How do we get keys to the cabin? Once you have checked in with us at the office, you will receive a code to access the house.

• When is check-in and check-out? Check-in is 4:00 p.m. on the first night of your rental, and check-out is 10:00 a.m. on the morning following your last night’s rental. A $50/hour charge will be added to any check-outs after 10 am that is not pre-approved. It may be possible to check out at 1 PM for an additional charge.

• What if I need to get hold of someone about the cabin? Message us on Airbnb. We try to respond immediately to all Airbnb messages.

Are you a couple traveling with a baby? At your cabin, you will find a portable crib, safe and certified. It will have a mattress; only bring your baby’s sheets. Also, you will find a high chair with adjustable height positions for convenience and to better suit your child from his or her earliest meals. In the kitchen, there is an electric steam sterilizer with many functions, including drying and reheating food. The multifunctional bottle sterilizer is very easy to operate with just four buttons. Using high-temperature steam, this sterilizer eliminates 99.9% of all harmful things, then automatically dries your items so you can get back to using them! Just bring your own baby’s bottles.

THE VILLAGE - just a 10-minute walk (great restaurants, winter/summer festivals, and events, clubs, bars, a movie theater and shops)

SNOW SUMMIT SKI RESORT - 6-minute ride (family ski, tube park, snowboard resort, certified lessons, mountain biking, kid's playground)

TOWNE TRAIL - 10 min walk (0.5 miles) to Forest Ranger Rd (well-maintained trails, hiking, mountain bike trails, incredible views of the lake and mountains, marked with arrows - can't get lost!). In case you don’t like to walk half a mile from the cabin to Forest Ranger Rd, you can drive up and leave the car next to the entrance of the trail, there is a small parking lot for your convenience. If the gate is open, you are allowed to drive on the trail as well!

PINE KNOT MARINA - 12 min walk or 2 min drive (lake tours, luxury boat rentals, parasailing, jet ski, fishing boats)

ROTARY PINE KNOT PARK - about 12 minutes walk (lake access and a beautiful lake view, benches, children’s playground, picnic tables)

MEADOW PARK - 13 min walk or 3 min ride (lake access, tennis courts, volleyball court, horseshoes, play lot, picnic areas)

For your convenience, we offer the following romance packages (you choose approximately how much you like to spend):

PACKAGE #1 - a bouquet of beautiful flowers in a vase

PACKAGE #2 - small flower arrangement, chocolate on a side and fresh white rose petals on the bed

PACKAGE #3 - a dozen of quality wild red roses in a vase (market price)

PACKAGE #4 - small flower arrangement, large chocolate, fresh white roses petals on the bed and three led candles

PACKAGE #5 - Deluxe Setting: dozen of wild roses, white roses petals on the bed, led candles, big chocolate and ten balloons

You simply let us know what you want and our local florist and designer will take care of professional preparation at your cabin. That will be done BEFORE you arrive to surprise your partner. You can take these home with you as well.

FAQ: How do I book the package?
A: Any time during your booking process, send us a message with a request about a romance package. We will confirm your inquiry with additional information after your reservation is made.

Q: Your tub looks hot, we love how you lay petals and think to get one of the packages. Will our tub be designed the same when we arrive at your cabin?
A: Your tub will be nice and clean before you arrive, it won’t have water in it or bubbles. After all, we want you to have a hot tub, not a cooling tub. Quick Tip: You may get just the petals from our local florist, the whole bag for about ten dollars. We poured some foaming bath and laid the petals around. Don't forget to add some bath salt too - it is good for your body ;)

Q: We saw red petals in your pictures, but in the packages you offer white. Is it a typo?
A: We offer only white petals for your romance package because red petals would mark the bedding since we create a nice design on your bed out of the petals. But if you like red petals in your tub, feel free to pick up a bag from the florist and do your thing.

Q: Why decorate our tub with led candles and not use real wax ones, aren't you for an "authentic look and feel"?
A: Yes, we are, but at the same time we think about your safety. Besides that, hot wax will drip down the tile and stone and then needs to be scrubbed off (tested). So if you want to have a piece of mind on your vacation, led candles will create that ambiance and carefree soaking experience and add a ton of safety.

Our cottage has all the amenities! Coffee maker, blender, air fryer, waffle maker, dishwasher, washer/dryer combo, Wi-Fi, propane BBQ, private fenced & gated back yard--perfect for children and/or pets, outdoor dining area.

Outdoors:
Fully fenced and upgraded with a brand-new fire pit surrounded by comfy lounge area, BBQ, and patio table and chairs for dining outdoors. Lots of outdoor games for enjoying our large yard. We have cornhole, darts and horseshoe. Just want to relax? Flop in the hammock provided and gaze at the beautiful sky through the pine trees on the property.

Indoors: Smart TVs with complementary Netflix. Cozy living room areas equipped with gas-burning fireplace, separate heater and smart tv and
board games. Luxury bedding in each room. Humidifier available for your use in the nightstands. Please use distilled water (provided in gallon-size in the bedroom closet).

TRAVELING IN WINTER:

Before you travel, make sure to check weather and road conditions. You can check road conditions on California's Department of Transportation site- there you will type in the road you will take (either 18, 330, or 38) to confirm if you need snow chains, if roads are closed, etc. **You are legally required to carry chains with you in the winter, if you do not bring your own chains and they have chain control, you could be turned away and not allowed to proceed OR will have to pay premium prices. Please check the weather and road conditions before coming up. Please note that we make every effort to accommodate guests, but we do not offer refunds due to weather conditions. When you arrive, the cabin has two standard parking spaces, please use only those. Street parking is illegal.

SPRING AND SUMMER STAYS:

This unit is in mountains nestled in pine trees. During spring & summer months remember to keep doors & screens closed to keep insects out of house, wildlife abounds here near the forest. There may be bugs. They are not limited to moths, ants, and spiders, but these are most common. I do have ant baits in the closet if you get too many visitors! The back yard is pressed earth, aka dirt. It could be dusty. You may bring some dirt into the house on your feet. This is common in the mountains.

PETS:

We’re DOG FRIENDLY! We happily invite your furry family, however we do charge a $50 per dog per stay fee (2 dogs maximum). This is what our housekeepers charge to deep
clean, manage the fur and other cleanups.

NON-SMOKING:
Smoking in any shape or form is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to cigarettes, marijuana, and vaping of any sort. Violation will result in a $250 penalty.
