Big Bear Gambrel is set high above the road so you must be able to climb stairs to get inside and is a three-story home. On the main level of the cabin, you'll find floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room with a large wood-burning fireplace, 40” smart tv (Netflix, Hula, Amazon), and an extra large comfy sectional. The dining room consists of a custom 9 person farmhouse table and bench, perfect and roomy for your family and friends to enjoy a meal. You'll also find the kitchen on this level, stocked with all the pots, pans, and any cooking items you'll need during your stay in addition to updated appliances. The kitchen comes equipped with a Keurig and a regular coffee machine. There is also a propane grill on the back deck available for use. Also, the house is equipped with Rabbit Air purifiers on each floor.

You can find one full bathroom on the main level with a tiled tub and shower and a bathroom with a shower on the lowest level. This cabin may have been built in 1970 but all of the upgrades and renovations mean plenty of hot water and great water pressure for all the guests. Off of the main floor, there is a large wrap-around deck around the home with a custom wood table and umbrella, outdoor furniture, including a fire pit, and lounge seating for many on the front and back sides where you can watch the shooting stars. (It's my favorite spot for morning coffee.) If you look up you can see the ski resort and since we are sitting high on the street, you won't be looking into neighbors' windows, but instead, you'll have a perfect view of trees, mountains, and the slopes. Upstairs you'll find both bedrooms. The master bedroom is a loft and overlooks the living room. It has the most amazing view of the trees and mountains. If you tire of the view, there is a 40" smart tv and retro malm wood-burning fireplace to keep you warm and toasty if you're visiting in the winter. The guest bedroom has a queen-sized bed and two twin bunk beds. There is a private balcony attached to this room. The backyard is woodsy and quiet so this is the perfect place for an afternoon nap or to read a book and relax.

Downstairs is where all the fun happens! There is a full-sized pool table, a poker/chess/card table, electronic dartboard game, and is fully stocked with board games and puzzles! There is also a Super-Sac LoveSac and Love-Sac Moonpit Lounger. The lounger is the size of 2 queen size beds and easily sleeps 4 adults. There is also a 120” projection screen with surround sound for the perfect movie night! We also have a Nintendo Classic and the projection screen is equipped with Apple TV. On the deck, there is a 6 person hot tub (cleaned weekly) with gorgeous ski slope and mountain views. Additionally, you can find 2 twin air mattresses to use on this level or upstairs in the main living room, whatever fits your sleeping arrangements. This is great for adults and kids alike!

There is also a second full bath on this level with a large walk-in shower. This is where you can find the washer and dryer and anything you need to do laundry. All carpets, upholstery, area rugs, and mattresses are cleaned regularly. There are several speakers throughout the cabin equipped with Amazon Music. Many of the lights are controlled and the home is Nest thermostat controlled. There is also high-speed WIFI through the house.

​​​​​​​**New Addition** In the backyard, with a giant 7.5' window facing the woods, you'll find 100 square feet of triangle perfection. With just enough room for a king-sized bed, this is the perfect spot to nap, read a book, stargaze or watch the snowfall. The driveway can accommodate a maximum of 3 vehicles. If you have a large truck or SUV, there may only be room for 2. There is no street parking.

Please be aware that during winter months, chains and/or 4WD are often required to enter Big Bear. During the snowy months, the mountain is not safe to drive without them and the city does enforce these requirements. Our driveway is also on a slope, so if it is snowy, you will need chains or 4WD to park. If you have any questions about this, feel free to message us.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire cabin minus a small owner's closet that is attached to the laundry room where we keep cleaning supplies, house and yard tools.

Other things to note
We have two bikes located on the property for guests to use. The street in front of the house is perfect for an afternoon bike ride or walk. These are cruiser bikes, not mountain bikes, and are perfect for the lake paths or roads.

There is a propane grill on the back deck available for guests' use.

The home is equipped with Ring cameras on the exterior of the home. This provides a safe environment for our guests and ensures that occupancy, pet policies are rules are followed

Please note...there are cameras at the driveway and property entrances. These are solely on the exterior of the property. Footage remains private and may be used to monitor occupancy and other property policies for liability reasons. It in no way infringes upon the expectation of privacy in these public areas. To disable or obscure the cameras is prohibited and may result in the immediate removal of guest(s) and forfeiture of all amounts paid.

𝗦𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗟
Snow removal services are supposed to arrive within 24 hours of any snowfall of more than 4+ inches to clear the driveway and a pathway to the main entrance. Snow removal companies cannot guarantee a specific time the property will be serviced. Therefore, guests may have to shovel a spot to park if they arrive before the snow removal company or if it snows during their stay. There have been times in more significant storms (2ft+ of snowfall) when snow removal can take longer. It doesn’t happen often, and our other guests have always been able to make it work. Just know that we are doing everything possible to get someone out there.

Please be aware that weather conditions can change rapidly, especially during winter. We are unable to honor last-minute cancellations due to weather/road conditions. Chains or 4WD/AWD vehicle requirements are often in effect to enter Big Bear Valley. Guests booking a stay in the winter should be prepared for the possibility of tire chains being necessary to travel to Big Bear. City officials and law enforcement enforce this requirement. Important headcount note: With using all bedding options, there are still three couches (if 11+ is needed). So 'beds' accomodate up to 11 people (including hide-a-bed's, assuming no more than 2 per bed, 1 per twin), anything above 11 would utilize the couches (unless more than 2 per larger bed were used) and probably best to bring sleeping bags for those people.

Located just blocks from the center of The Village, everything you need is within close proximity once you land at our Lakefront chalet. In the summer you can swim, boat & fish and in the winter you are just minutes away from ski resorts & sledding.

The space
This beautiful lakefront chalet is one of three units in a triplex. It was built in 1977 and the given name of the complex is: Lake Chalets. The name of our unit is: Lakefront Retreat. There are two buildings on the lot. The 1st building facing the street has garages and a unit above. The rear building has two units. Our unit is the top floor of the rear building, which has no shared walls and a huge deck with unobstructed lake views.

The two-story chalet feels much more like a private home than a chalet; it has cathedral ceilings and tudor details. The lot is over 9000 square feet sitting 'on' the lake. There is plenty of room for activities while waiting for your next boat ride/water ski, your next big catch, snow play or simply watching the boats come and go from the nearby, adjacent marina.

The master BR has a queen-size platform bed featuring a down comforter with duvet plus down pillows with high thread count linens. The master features its own large closet with remote color 20-inch TV with DirecTV and DVD player. It also has end tables with lamps, alarm clock and antique armoire for storage of all additional linens, towels and blankets.

The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with down comforter and duvet plus down pillows 'and' a matching bunk bed separated by an end table with lamp and alarm clock. A modest stackable washer/dryer is in the closet for easy storage and access.

The third and fourth bedrooms are dual lofts separated by its’ own bathroom on the second floor. Each loft is open, with no walls, and has two full beds sleeping four total in the loft area. By the textbook real estate definition, these are not actual bedrooms. There is a closet in the bathroom and a hanging rack in the hallway. Drawers for clothes should be kept under the bed; each bed has three drawers under it.

The living room has 40-inch Flat Screen TV with DirecTV, wireless internet (airport and ethernet), mac computer and DVD player. Enjoy a crackling fire in the rock fireplace on our comfortable ultra suede sectional couch.

Our kitchen is fully-equipped with travertine floors, dishes and settings for 12 persons, and all appliances - oven/range for big meals, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, coffee maker and a steak knife set for your steak dinners. With amazing views of the lake through the sliding windows above the sink, and all kitchen utensils, pots and pans - you'll be hard pressed to find a better-stocked kitchen.

Other things to note
Our private deck sits just off of the kitchen and includes views of tall pine trees and clear skies for stargazing or snowfall. Enjoy the sunset from the sit-down views, while melting away the stresses and strains of everyday life.

The shared backyard is oversized and huge, with room for any outdoor activity you can think of including, in the winter, making snow angels in the snow-covered backyard which lies just a few steps down from your own shared dock with boat access for an additional fee.

The Happy Deer Camp was built and loved by one single family since the 1950s until this year when our family became a part of it. And, if you're looking for a pet & child-friendly, peaceful place where time stopped many decades ago to allow you to re-connect with your inner-self or loved ones, you've found the perfect spot! At our home, you'll feel precisely "at home" where most cell phone carriers provide signal, but we focus on disconnecting entirely from technology. In lieu of, enjoy the amazing views of blue jays drinking water from the bird bath, relax on the large hammock hung from two pine trees, talk the night away sitting on a bench under the stars, watch old movies on VHS/DVD, read, walk the 0.5 mile to Lake Gregory for many activities including admiring the architecture in style of the 1930's with high cathedral ceilings of the San Moritz Lodge, feel the warmth of the fireplace or sit back on the white bench to catch a deer or other animals come to visit the soothing creek that's in front of the deck! Our chalet is centrally located to everything on the mountain! The Lake Arrowhead Village is a 5 minute drive. Sky Park and Santa’s Village is a 5 minute drive. Public Lake Gregory is a 15 minute drive and Snow Valley is just 12 miles away.

You will find an abundant amount of hiking and biking trails to enjoy the beauty of the mountain. No matter the season, Lake Arrowhead is full of adventures and entertainment all year round.

Enjoy hanging out at the patio watching the colorful ski resort and mountain sky views. Early morning, with awe, you can hear the Big Bear Zoo wolves howling for food. Bear Mountain ski resort is only a stone throw's away from (we walk), along with Moonridge golf, the zoo and shops. Or wonder around the trees in the back yard and possibly even sled the hill in our property.

With the lower level fully renovated in 2017, the two-story layout with bathrooms and fireplaces on both floors will entertain you and your friends. The downstairs also offers direct access to the back yard.

Your well behaved furry friends are welcome (additional cleaning fee will be applied).

It’s seems there’s no AT&T cell reception in the house but WiFi calls are permitted.

The house is just below the street level. It's 20 steps down to the entrance of the house with it's living room, fireplace, kitchen, 2 bedrooms + 1 bathroom.

Please be a good and respectful guest. Due to sensitive plumbing no funny stuff down the toilet please, only toilet paper.

Pets are welcome (but we must enforce an additional $75 pet cleaning fee).
Please be respectful and clean up after your dog everywhere in the property and do not allow it to run around without a lease as our property is not fenced. Any pets not disclosed in the reservation but with evidence discovered during cleaning will incur a $250 penalty.

We recognize accidents can happen. We ask you to clean up after any unexpected events in the house. If we have to clean any ‘funny’ stuff we will provide photos and an explanation and charge $150/incident.

The Home- 998 sq feet. Open floor plan and all new mid century modern décor! 20ft vaulted wood ceilings, wood like vinyl flooring throughout. Beautiful fireplace in the living room. A full sized appliances in kitchen and laundry. Two mini split AC/heating in each room to heat/cool the bedrooms. Wall heater to heat the main living area. All bedding will be provided along with bath and spa towels. Basic toiletries included. Bring yourself and groceries!

Bedroom 1: First floor. King bed, vanity, dresser and closet. Mini split AC unit to control heating or cooling in the bedroom.

Bedroom 2(Loft): Second floor. Queen, Full, and twin trundle bed. 45” smart tv. Balcony overlooking spa area. Mini split AC unit to control heating or cooling in the bedroom. This helps with summer heat rising to the loft area along with ceiling fan.

We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton balls, cotton swabs and floss picks. Hand towels and washcloths will also be provided. The bath towels are not for lake use, please bring extra for the lake.

Bathroom: First floor. Shower, 1 sink.

Living Room: Open to kitchen and dining area. 3 seater couch, 2 wicker chairs. Natural wood burning fireplace and smart tv

Kitchen: Full sized fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker. Fully
stocked with all utensils, cookware and dishware. The kitchen features a bar with 4 high-top chairs as well as a dining room table that seats 4( 1 bench and 2 chairs).

Back deck- 6 person spa, patio seats, with string lighting. Hot Tub hours 7A-10P per county regulations. Patio furniture cushions available seasonally.

Front Patio- Propane grill, propane firepit, patio furniture, and string lighting.

Animals of any sort are NOT allowed, this includes any type of service animal or hypoallergenic animal. The owners are highly allergic. Please respect their space and health. Please reach out for our dog friendly homes.

If traveling in summer. Like most homes in Big Bear there is no central AC. Fans are provided. Casa Moonridge has two mini split units for heating and cooling in the loft bedroom and primary.

If traveling in winter, we highly suggest purchasing trip insurance! We have a strict cancellation policy and will stand by it. Winter months can be challenging with snow, ice, road closures, and other things. Cover yourself by purchasing the trip insurance.

Please respect our neighbors. It’s a very quiet street. We know most our neighbors.

Reminder- This is the mountains. We do our best to control what we can. We hire Terminix to spray and leave bait for pests, do our best to prevent rodents. Annual removal of weeds. Most of our homes do have sap
producing trees.

All requests to change date, must be done a minimum of 14 days before your stay. Prices may change due to change of date.

San Bernadino County Good Neighbor Policy

We want you to have the best experience possible so you’ll come back to visit us again soon. Here are some tips on how to avoid some of the common complaints we get about short-term rentals. The number one rule to remember is being a vacation home renter also means being a good neighbor.

PARKING ( 2 vehicles)
All short-term renters must park on the rental property. No street parking is
allowed. The number of approved spaces for your rental can be found on the information posted inside the unit.

NOISE
We know you have good taste in music, but your neighbors might not. So turn down the volume and keep all noise to a minimum. Guests are advised to adhere to quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

PETS (Not a pet friendly home)
Pets are required to be leashed or kept in an enclosed area on the property at all times. Dogs are required to be licensed. Barking or other animal noise may result in noise complaints. (This house does NOT allow animals)

TRASH
Please place all trash in approved containers. Ensure containers are closed to
keep animals out. Do not place trash bags or other uncontained trash anywhere on the property.

OCCUPANCY (6 including children and infants)
Exceeding the occupancy limit could result in expulsion from the rental, fines, or both. The approved number of people allowed in the unit can be found on the information posted inside the unit.

PROHIBITED USES
Short-term rentals may not be used for commercial purposes, such as filming, corporate retreats, conferences, or wedding receptions.

COMPLAINTS
The County operates a 24-hour hotline where residents can report short-term rental violations. All complaints are investigated and can result in a $1,000 citation.
