- "Great place to stay for quiet evenings! " - "Cross creek still has the flavor of Old Florida. My wife and I went there for our 25th anniversary and were not disappointed. We visited Payne's Prairie State Park and were able to observe the wild Cracker ponies through binoculars from the observation tower. The property has a boat ramp into Cross Creek which I believe connects to Orange Lake and Lake Lochloosa. I would bring a boat if I were staying longer. We brought our two Labrador retrievers that travel with us everywhere. We would have liked to try the Yearling Restaurant but it was closed for sub kitchen floor plumbing repairs. The owner of the property was very friendly and even with the stress of repairs in progress, he gave us a tour of the restaurant and shared it's history. We intended to visit the home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings who wrote the book "The Yearling" but only got to drive by due to time constraints. We also drove through historic Micanopy and both the commercial and housing districts had a charming appeal and several antique shops. We will likely revisit and try to take advantage of everything the area has to offer. We will stay in the "Yearling Cabins". "

- "We had a great time! I will definitely be coming back the next time I come down! " - "My fiance and I, along with one of our friends stayed here for Gatornationals and cannot say enough good about this place! Don’t let its size fool you, everything is high quality! The top bed was super-comfy and the linens were amazing. Like, softer and nicer than some high-end hotels. Our very tall, large friend slept on the sofa-converted-to-bed and said it was very comfortable; something he didn’t expect at all given it wasn’t a “true” bed. Honestly, we’ll take this place over a hotel ANY day. We’ll definitely be back! "

Welcome to our gorgeous cabin retreat! This lovely one bedroom cabin with an upper loft will sleep 4 people. If you are looking for a country setting with a quiet atmosphere and lots of privacy, this is the place for you. The stand-alone cabin has no other people on the 1/4 acre property, has a chain link fence, and smart locks for easy self-check in. Ceiling fans, large screen tv in living area and bedroom, as well as a mini-split AC and heater. We have taken a great deal of pride in setting up this cabin, with repurposed antique barn doors and tongue and groove wood throughout. Laminate plank flooring and a fully appointed bathroom are a few of the great amenities, and the loft up the ladder is great for storage space or an occasional overnight guest. Less than a mile to a convenience store, gas, and a dollar store, and other attractions are nearby. World Equestrian Center is a half-hour away, Devil's Den Prehistoric Spring is only 5 miles away (http://www.devilsden.com/). Gainesville And Ocala Hospitals are also close, along with great proximity to UF and all of their sporting events.

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape with trails and a unique experience. This tiny home is mostly outdoor living. The 8x10 bedroom is heated and cooled with queen size bed. The rest of the living is truly outdoors. The kitchen is small but well equipped with a picnic basket full of necessities, cooktop stove, small fridge and coffee maker. The living area has comfortable seating. My favorite- the bathroom! With a soaking tub and outdoor yet private shower!
The space
Mostly outdoor living and constantly evolving! I love suggestions and feedback from guests on how to make the property more inviting and comfortable.
This is complete outdoor living (except the bedroom) There is privacy from neighbors and RV that may be on property during your stay. The Firepit and gazebo are right out the front door and give you more outdoor 'living spaces' to enjoy.
Bugs and animal friends are common to spot in and around the house as it is made to be a 'glamping' experience. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Guest access
You are free to use any of the spaces on the property. Natures Nest is exclusively yours, however, the firepit, gazebo, swings, hammocks and trails are shared area IF there is a camper/RV at the property.

Please DO NOT flush anything in the toilet except toilet paper. This includes NOT flushing personal hygiene products as wipes, feminine products, etc. If you see toilet paper, etc. when you flush that means the toilet is clogged and needs to be addressed immediately. Please note, DO NOT smoke/vape/use electronic cigarettes inside the home. We have provided seating and ash trays outside for smoking. Ensure doors and windows are closed so that smoke does not permeate inside.
During the summer, please do not set the AC below 73 degrees as this will cause the unit to malfunction and freeze thus causing failure. In the winter, please do not set the unit above 78 degrees.
