Possumwood is cosy, romantic little cabin set in a peaceful location behind your hosts main residence. An extensive garden is also available to you. The cottage is self-contained, with a small kitchenette (no cooking, microwave only), twin king single beds, bathroom, dining setting, television (foxtel now), wifi and reverse cycle air conditioning. It is the perfect getaway cottage in the beautiful blue mountains for couple or just good mates. Enquire first if you have mobility issues.

Come and stay in this quaint mountain getaway. When it's winter, come and sit by the fire in the mist and fog or soak in the claw foot bath. When summer starts, roast in the warm sun surrounded by our beautiful garden. We are 10 minutes walk from the main street in Leura and only 5 mins from Mt Hay road which connects you to scores of bush walks including the trail to Lockleys Pylon and the Shortridge Pass to the Blue Gum walking track.

The Milk Shed is a large self-contained studio renovated with recycled materials. Situated in the centre of the historic Old Leura Dairy and with its dual vanity sinks and spacious king sized bed it is the perfect couples getaway.
For food preparation we have a four burner stove/oven and a Weber gas BBQ for outdoor eating. We also have a microwave, toaster, kettle and espresso maker.
All cutlery, bbq utensils, crockery, pots & pans are provided. As well as basic cooking ingredients such as olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, a variety of teas and coffee.

The space
The spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area has been designed for cooking and socialising with friends and family. Curl up on one of the comfy couches by the gas log fire embedded in a five-metre high sandstone wall. Cook up a holiday feast to serve upon the oversized dining table. The sleek kitchen comes with an induction cooktop, electric oven, large microwave, pod coffee machine, hot/cold Billi tap, toaster, and pantry basics. The open area provides the warm and welcoming centre of the chalet.
A second living/TV room provides a space to stretch out on the large couch - read a book or access streaming services. This room can be closed off from the main centre space via a sliding door, for privacy, if desired.
There is a combined butler's pantry and full-sized laundry off the back of the kitchen. This room has additional counter space, another sink, plus an excellent full-size washing machine and dryer.
There are three bathrooms. The main bathroom is spacious, modern, and inviting. Indulge in a deep tub bubble bath after a day of walking, exploring, shopping, or biking. Two additional bathrooms are located adjacent to two bedrooms - both are well-sized, in a modern design similar to the main bathroom. Each has a full-size shower, vanity, and toilet, as well as deluxe bathroom provisions.
Enjoy your choice of four bedrooms (three queen beds; one double bed); all come equipped with cloud-like bedding, luxury French-linen sheets, and quality pillows.

Both bedrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs) have king-size beds made up with super luxe flax linen sheets from Cultiver.
The bedrooms both have Nobo electric heaters, ceiling fans, bedside tables, lamps and leafy views from the windows.

Both bathrooms have just been fully renovated.
The upstairs main bathroom features a gorgeous deep bathtub for long restoring soaks, rain shower over bath, heat lamp, basin and toilet.
The downstairs bathroom has a generous walk-in rain shower, basin and toilet.
Freshly laundered, Turkish cotton bath towels and luxe botanical Australian toiletries are provided.

HEATING & COOLING:
The fireplace in the upstairs lounge room is perfect company on a chilly winter's eve (one bag of complimentary firewood and kindling supplied). There are also Nobo electric heaters for the bedrooms and a heat lamp in the main bathroom.
For cooling we have an air-conditioner in the upstairs lounge/dining room and ceiling fans in both bedrooms. The house also catches lovely mountain breezes with the windows open.

KITCHEN:
The Treehouse has a brand new fully-equipped kitchen with Nespresso machine (biodegradable Pod&Parcel coffee pods included), kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, electric induction stovetop and oven.
All crockery, cutlery, cups and glasses are provided. There is a full set of pots, pans and cooking utensils as well if you prefer to self-cater, although Leura has a wonderful choice of cafes, bars and restaurants with lots of different cuisines and options for dining out!

LOCATION:
The Treehouse is about a 20 minute (1.4km) walk to Leura village shops, cafes, restaurants, art galleries and quirky antique stores.
The beautiful Leura Cascades and Pool of Siloam bushwalks are only minutes away by car, as well as spectacular Elysian Rock and Sublime Point scenic lookout, Everglades Gardens, popular wedding venues and golf courses.
The house is also only 7 minutes drive to Katoomba, Scenic World, the Giant Staircase and the world-famous Three Sisters lookout at Echo Point.
The Jenolan Caves, Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens, Leura and Wentworth Falls are all also easily accessible by car on the Great Western Highway.

Guest access
You will have full access to the house, gardens and private hot tub area. Only a small downstairs room is off-limits to guests, as it is used for storage.
Please be aware that the house is located on the high side of the street with about 10+ uneven stone steps up to the front door. The kitchen, dining, lounge room, one bedroom and main bathroom are also all located upstairs. It may not be accessible for guests with limited mobility or fitness.
Please note this property is not suitable for infants or young children due to safety concerns, but older children and teenagers welcome!
There are no laundry facilities on-site but there is a laundromat in nearby Katoomba.
