Large tri-level cabin in a quiet spot just a half mile walk into Summerhaven. Easy drive to Ski Valley, popular trails, and Rose Canyon Lake. Weston Lodge has room for everyone with two big primary bedrooms with king size beds, a huge loft that sleeps up to a 6, three living rooms, two kitchens, and three full bathrooms. Perfect for a group trip, where you can all be together but also sneak in some quiet time. The cabin is among the trees with amazing decks and hiking right out your front door.
The space
A quiet dirt road leads to the cabin, making this a very private property despite being so close to Summerhaven. Drivable in a car spring through fall, but trucks, SUVs, or 4x4 will make it easier. The last 0.2 miles does not get plowed in winter.
The upstairs/main area has a bedroom with King size bed, ensuite bathroom, kitchen, living and dining areas, and a large loft with two twin over full bunks, full bath, a lounge area, and two great decks. Downstairs living area has a bedroom with a king size bed, large bathroom, full kitchen, and living and dining areas. The downstairs is also equipped with a pack n' play and air mattress so kiddos can easily sleep nearer to guests in that bedroom.
Large wrap around decks on the two main levels and mini decks off each side of the loft allow for great views among the trees.
Please note the pictures of the spiral staircase connecting the multiple levels of the property - not ideal for young kids.
The two kitchens are stocked with all pots and pans, silverware, and dishes, plus spices, cooking oil, vinegar, ground coffee, and basic condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, syrup, and hot sauce). We also have a toaster, coffee maker (ground), air fryer, ninja sizzle grill, and pressure cooker available on the property.
While we strive to provide as many amenities as possible, cabin life has some limitations we want our guests to consider:
1. Water is limited on the mountain so please be considerate with your usage.
2. Critters large and small are a normal part of life in nature so don't be surprised to see them around.
3. Trash service is not available so you will need to haul your trash back down the mountain with you. There is a $100 additional charge if trash is left on the property.
4. Fire is a big risk on Mt. Lemmon so no outside fires, smoking, fireworks, or anything similar are allowed, no exceptions. Since this is one of 129 cabins that didn't burn down in the 2003 fire, it is surrounded by mature vegetation. Our insurer will not allow gas or charcoal grills, unfortunately, so we have an electric ninja sizzle flat top for outdoor grilling.
5. There is limited cellular service at this property. We do have Starlink WiFi, which works great, but it can have rare interruptions as this is a remote location. Streaming works well, video calls are iffy.
6. Once snow starts to stick around, Weston Lodge is only accessible on foot. There is parking along Turkey Run road at the bottom of Guthrie, and you'll need to walk up 0.2 miles to the cabin.
7. This is a rare pet-friendly cabin. To help us keep it that way an additional $75 pet fee will be collected for cleaning supplies and general wear caused by pets.
8. The winters are hard on the deck paint, FYI.
The home is beautiful and we know you'll have a wonderful time experiencing nature and all it has to offer with the added bonus of comfy beds and full bathrooms!
Guest access
Nest locks are used on both front doors for access.
Cabin is located 0.2 miles up a dirt road. Once you arrive there are two parking spots (one outside each entrance).
Once snow starts to stick around (usually January - March), Weston Lodge is only accessible on foot. There is parking along Turkey Run road, and you'll need to walk up 0.2 miles to the cabin.
If water happens to be turned off at the property (the water company does this occasionally) there is a turn on near the road by the upstairs parking spot. Open the lid to the in-ground hole closest to the road (there are two) and turn the handle at the back of the hole so it points toward the cabin.
Other things to note
This is a gorgeous cabin, unique for the area, and will offer a wonderful relaxing place to enjoy everything Mt. Lemmon has to offer.
There is no A/C, but it is not needed due to the positioning of the cabin and the tree cover. There are ceiling fans in the loft. Central and radiant heat for cold days in the winter. Central heater is loud when blowing, but it doesn't turn on for long once the cabin has been heated. We also have space heaters available.
Please closely review the entire listing to ensure it is the right fit for your group!

- "This mountain unit is clean, well furnished, and has an awesome view from the large outdoor deck. The host was terrific. We only wish there had not been a mandatory $89 charge for damage insurance. We have stayed in quite a few VRBO's and had not seen that additional charge. Plus, we have never caused any damage to any place we have ever stayed! Nonetheless, we greatly enjoyed our short stay and highly recommend this lodging." - "The purpose of the trip was to escape the heat in Tucson. The porch fit the bill perfectly. Lots of bird watching and relaxing in the outdoors. It is also a quick drive into summerhaven and other pony’s of interest. We will go again."

Dogs are able to go under fence so we kept them leashed while in the yard. The cabin is located in town so it’s easy to walk to the general store etc. I recommend bringing your own food the kitchen is stocked well but if you bake something you may need a cookie sheet. Overall the cabin is clean and easy to navigate. Great place for 2 people."

- "Cabin was clean, beautiful and quiet." - "The cabin was absolutely exquisite. Very clean, very well decorated, great amenities. Couldn’t be better." - "Super quite great place to stay" - "Our stay at the cabin was excellent! It was close enough to walk and enjoy the Summerhaven shops and restaurants but not on the main road so you still feel as though you’re in a secluded cabin. The couches were comfy, jetted tub felt amazing after a long hike, and the deck was perfect for meals and reading. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. Our cozy rustic cabin will make you forget all about the hustle and kbustle of the city. Nestled in the mature pines (this area did not burn in any of the fires!) we are close to all the amenities Summerhaven has to offer including world class hiking trails, rock climbing, Ski Valley, and restaurants and shops. Kids can play in the woods behind the cabin or at the stream at the base of the road!
A brand new deck has been built September 2024. Same cabin but bigger and better outdoor space!
The Space
This 70 year old 850 square foot rustic cabin is well appointed with a great room/kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. The two small bedrooms will sleep 4 people comfortably with a brand new Casper queen bed in the master and 2 brand new Novaform memory foam twin beds in the guest room. The kitchen is stocked with silverware, cooking items, and utensils. The great room offers a comfortable place to snuggle up with a book, play piano, warm up in front of a roaring fire, or enjoy a movie. The additional deck space is a lovely spot to view wildlife and relax in the temperatures typically 20-30 degrees cooler than Tucson.
The cabin is accessible via approximately 20 stairs with open side rails. As there are steps to ascend and the balcony is not fully child-proofed, you will need to be careful if you bring young children.
Guest Access
There is a keypad on the front door for access. There is a "loading zone" parking spot up the hill at the base of the outdoor staircase leading up to the cabin. Permanent parking is in a clearly marked spot at the base of the hill, about 45 feet away. Please do not leave your car in the "loading zone" for more than 15 minutes as it blocks access up the road to the cabins beyond.
*** WINTER ACCESS ***
In the Winter months, you will most likely need to have a 4x4 vehicle, all wheel drive, and/or snow chains, to rent the cabin, since mountain access is restricted to such when there is snow/ice on the road. Please stay up to date with weather conditions and call the Road Conditions Line for updates, which can be found by googling: "mt lemmon road conditions line" (I'm not allowed to post the phone number or link here). Also you may have to walk through snow to get up to the cabin as only the base of the road is plowed.
Other things to Note
The cabin does not offer a washer/dryer or air conditioning.
While there is a General Store right up the road, plan to bring all of your food and drinks up the hill from Tucson.
There is no trash service on the mountain so you will need to pack out all your leftover food and trash. We will be forced to charge you $75 PER BAG of trash left in the cabin.
We now allow house trained dogs under 30 pounds. There is no smoking anywhere on the premises. We appreciate you keeping all food and drink out of the bedrooms.
Mt. Lemmon water is mountain spring water and we drink out of the tap.
There is cell service on the mountain. As for cell data, T-Mobile and AT&T work very well and Verizon gets some coverage in the evenings and early mornings. We now offer WiFi through a T-Mobile hotspot!
The cozy fireplace is for you to use, but you must bring your own firewood. You can purchase this at the general store down the street.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Catalina Hwy all the way up the mountain and into the town of Summerhaven. Drive through the town past the Lodge and the General Store and the Cookie Cabin. Past the Cookie cabin on the right side of Sabino Canyon road you will see a turn off for Carter Canyon Road. Do not take that right, but turn left about 10 ft past that opposite of Carter Canyon Rd. There is a little cement bridge that crosses the creek with a metal crow on a street address marker and a manual lifing gate. Cross over the bridge and drive a short distance to the right up the hill and 12700 will be on the left.
Please call with any questions.

- "Perfectly appointed, comfortable and private, priced well. It met my needs exactly and I would stay there again and recommend it. I had to improvise covers for the clock on the stove and the thermostat on the wall because they both are incredibly bright at night when trying to sleep, as though one has left several room lights on. Imagine waking up to the sounds of birds chirping and the trickling of water from the creek as you sip your favorite hot drink from the balcony among the pine and fir trees. This cabin is just a stone's throw away from town center with a food shop right across the street, but is a true mountain hermitage where you can unplug and unwind from all your concerns. And with fast Wifi, you can do your best work remotely amidst the serenity of nature while a fresh mountain breeze blows.
THE SPACE
This is a 70 year old rustic cabin - 900 sq. ft. with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, built into the mountain side and accessible via approximately 30 stairs with open side rails. It may creak and squeak on occasion, but that's just its personality and part of a real cabin experience. Please note that as there are steps to ascend and the balcony is not fully child-proofed, being elevated, you will need to be careful if you bring young children.
GUEST ACCESS
The whole cabin is for you! There is self-entry with a code that you will receive upon booking.
*** WINTER ACCESS ***
In the Winter months, you will most likely need to have a 4x4 vehicle, all wheel drive, and/or snow chains, to rent the cabin, since mountain access is restricted to such when there is snow/ice on the road. Please stay up to date with weather conditions and call the Road Conditions Line for updates, which can be found by googling: "mt lemmon road conditions line" (I'm not allowed to post the phone number or link here)
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Concerning trash, the mountain has a "pack it in and pack it out" policy, as Mt. Lemmon has no trash service available. It must be taken with you off of the mountain. Any trash leftover will incur a $75 fee per bag.
2 smaller pets up to 30 lbs. maximum (each pet) are allowed, any violations to this rule will incur a $50 fee.
There is cell service on the mountain. As for cell data, T-Mobile and AT&T work very well and Verizon gets some coverage in the evenings and early mornings.
We have fast WiFi at the cabin! If you stroll into the town center, the community center also has free public WiFi daily. The center is closed during the week but you can access the internet from the benches outside or from the restaurant across the street.
Due to water availability issues on the mountain, please refrain from using the washing machine. As well, sometimes the Mt. Lemmon Water District imposes mountain-wide water restrictions. Please make sure to check for any current restrictions before your stay at the MtLemmonWater website (I'm not allowed to post an external website link on Airbnb).
The cabin offers a 40 inch Smart TV for you to enjoy all your favorite movies on the Internet (Netflix, Amazon, etc.).
The cozy fireplace is for your enjoyment, as well, but you must bring your own firewood, which may be purchased at the general store down the street.
There are USB outlets on the back of the end table next to the love seat in the main living room.
There are extra linens in the bedroom with the queen bed.
The water is mountain spring water and drinkable!
Please avoid using the microwave and the oven/stove at the same time, as this may cause the electrical circuit breaker to trip.
- "We really enjoyed out stay at the Forest Hermitage. Everything was as described and was the location is perfect." - "My kids, grandkids and I really enjoyed our stay in this cabin! It was a true mountain experience! Nicely furnished. The beds were comfortable. The only complaint woul d be the need for a decent spatula. - "It was a beautiful cabin the views are incredible and overall had a great stay thank you again" - "This was a great adventure stay for us in our second stay on the mountain. The neighborhood access road is a challenge for steepness and broken up pavement, but the lack of any other vehicles and treetop views from two decks was worth it. It sure beats the traffic with no views down in the village. The area roads are great to explore by walking and ebiking. We had our SUV in 4x4 mode during the stay and used alternate map tools besides Google Maps to find this section of the street ahead of time. I would suggest planning ahead and not going in darkness or rainstorms when looking for the address on this no outlet street (trail). The whole neighborhood is a mix of single lane paved streets and very steep driveways and side roads. The house is clean and fully furnished with two decks and a picnic table on the lower deck. We will probably be back for more treetop solitude (in 4x4 mode). Top rated"

- "We felt absolutely welcomed walking through the door. Our fur baby already had dishes set and the hated dog yard was perfect for potty breaks. Everything worked perfectly, we slept comfortably, and had basic necessities." - "We had a wonderful, freezing evening watching the stars at the U of A telescope. It was so nice to come to a warm room and not have to drive down the mountain." - "Perfect for a mountain getaway. " - "We had to park far from our cabin door in order to take our belongings into our space. We were very pleased with the cabin and cleanliness. There was a puddle under refrigerator door that was contiuous. Doing all home-cooked meals, I would have liked lids fitting all the pots and pans. Also, a cutting board would be nice."

- "Clean, spacious and well appointed. Had a great stay. Mountain was very cold on our visit days, fireplace was a great comfort. Loved the classic arcade games and the pool table! Will have to try again to escape the heat of summer!" - "We had a wonderful time. Thank you." - "I had a fantastic, long weekend with my siblings and grown kids. We were 5 adults, we had plenty of space. It's a beautiful home; we especially loved the wrap-around porch. It was a short drive to Summerhaven where we enjoyed lunch at Sawmill Run Restaurant. A short drive in the other direction, we were at the trailhead for the Meadow Trail (an easy hike) and the Mount Lemmon Loop (a more challenging route). I hope to stay here again."

- "First time to Mt Lemmon and the cabin was perfect. Well appointed, everything you need for a short visit to Summerhaven. Cabins are in a strategic location, within walking distance of a couple of very good restaurants, and the ability to prepare our own food was a very definite plus. I would suggest cutting the weeds back that surround all of the cabins." - "Easy to book, valuable price, great location, loved the full kitchen since not a lot of food options. Clean place, nice furniture and appliances. We'll be back!!!"

- "During one of our hikes, we saw a family of wild turkeys. It was awesome!" - "This was a nice stay. But the shower in our cabin felt like we were going to fall through. Other two that it was nice and peaceful. Would recommend. Will definitely be back" - "We were pleasantly surprised that the Mt Lemmon Hotel are individual cabins. The comfortable cabins are right along the Main Street of Summerhaven, but still very private and quiet. We visited on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so not much was happening in this small, quiet, quaint town, on those days, but that was fine with us as we wanted to relax on the porch, read and rest. There are plenty of hiking trails to explore if we had desired to do that. The cabins are new, and very comfortable and cozy. Very nice. The ski restaurant and the main restaurant in town are closed on Monday snd Tuesday, but there is a cookie:/pizza place within walking distance. We were glad we brought our own breakfasts for those days. We will definitely stay at the Mt. Lemmon Hotel if we visit again."

- "We had 3 couples staying for the weekend and we had an amazing time. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed and then some. We especially loved that all three bedrooms had king beds, which is quite unusual for a rental. The host was easy to communicate with and answered quickly. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!" - "This cabin in Summerhaven was better than pictured! Clean, cute, with a lot of extras! It's a good size place. It was within easy walking distance to all the shops, and we couldn't have been happier! Everything we used worked, and the wrap around porch, with breathtaking views, and gas fire pit with seating were our favorite spot! There was also a grill, and we ate dinner on the porch. Just fantastic! You won't be disappointed if you book here!"

- "It was a wonderful experience with the best views of the stars at night. A great place to stay." - "This cabin had everything we needed for a quick getaway. It was very clean and comfortable." - "Everything you need for a get away from the city" - ""The Getaway" was just that! Our favorite parts of the property include the awesome back deck (with plenty of seating ... three tables with chairs) and hummingbird feeders. So adorable. The teens loved the basement that had couches, a TV and a pool table. The kitchen was well-equipped for heating up the pre-made meals we brought, and there was a pantry area which we filled with our groceries. Loved that we didn't have to pack the Keurig and creamers, as well as s'mores sticks and snacks. There were several other nice touches around the house, like games, books, luggage racks, small fans for each room, and everything was easy to find (like extra toilet paper, towels, etc). The house is only half mile from town, so if you are able-bodied, you can walk down the hill for a cookie, groceries or to the restaurant. A few notes for the property manager: The listing says there are two bedrooms, but we were happy to find the third bed in the loft! We had brought several air mattresses for the kids but didn't need them. That should definitely be updated! Also, we had some trouble with the road up to the property. In fact, we got a bit stuck. A warning to others that if it has been wet, muddy, or even if you just have a smaller vehicle (without 4WD) you will really need to gun it up the hill. Our car was heavily laden and it was quite an adventure. Plus, there are several blind corners going to the property so be careful! A couple other notes for future guests: - There is really only room for 2 cars max. Don't bring more! - There is a "firepit" but it's a propane type, there is no place to build your own fire. So, s'mores are made over propane. Still nice, just FYI. Thank you!"

Parking is at the base of the steps shown in the photos.
We offer free early check-in as long as the cabin is cleaned from the prior guests!
There is a DVD player with the TV along with some provided DVDs, but feel free to bring your own DVDs as well.
Cabins on Mt. Lemmon do not have A/C in general, including this cabin. The temperatures are usually mild enough to where A/C is not needed. There is definitely heating for the winter months, though!
Combining the best of a cozy cabin feel with the comforts of a fresher, newer building, this 2-story cabin is in the heart of the mountains and a short walk to restaurants and shops. Fully paved road makes a hassle-free drive. Great walks among winding roads and nearby trails. Two decks, a porch swing, puzzles and cooler temperatures are guaranteed. Fully stocked kitchen with coffee, teas, seasonings, and condiments. Wi-Fi is provided and most cellular carriers have service on the mountain.
The space
Parking on site. There are 10 steps up to cabin, as well as stair access to 2nd floor. The bedroom with a queen bed and the bathroom are both on the main floor as well as the kitchen, main living room with a delightful window seat, and the room designated as "the reading nook". The second story has a large open area, with two futons, allowing for a second living space as well as sleeping area. At 8,000 ft elevation, open windows and ceiling fans provide the natural cooling system. TV with ROKU and DVDs is in the main living room. The cabin is not for young mobile children since it is not child proofed and has stairs and elevated decks.
Guest access
The whole cabin is for your use and enjoyment.
Other things to note
There is a 3-night minimum for holiday weekends, such as Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Our cozy rustic cabin will make you forget all about the hustle and bustle of the city. Nestled in the mature pines (this area did not burn in any of the fires!) we are close to all the amenities Summerhaven has to offer including worldclass hiking trails, rock climbing, Ski Valley, and restaurants and shops.
We also now offer WiFi through a TMobile hotspot.
