- "I had called Red Awning and left an extensive complaint. The wand to open and close the blinds was missing. My husband had to use his hands to do that. There were no tissues anywhere in the cabin. There were no directions anywhere for the ceiling fan. We finally figured out there was a remote left on one of the night tables for it. Also, there were no directions on how to use the two remotes for the television. We did figure it out. There were no instructions on how to use the fireplace. The only thing posted said, “Do not use wood” or something to that effect. The largest complaint is that when my husband moved the portable space heater (which was is very poor shape [everything loose] there was a syringe on the floor. We didn’t touch it, but put the heater back when we were leaving. "

Parking:
There is a dedicated parking space on the Casita’s private gravel pathway that can fit up to 2 compact vehicles, or 1 compact SUV and 1 truck, in tandem. Please DO NOT park on the roundabout driveway or on the street. Please do not go to the main house, which is typically reserved by other guests.

This space cannot accommodate trailers, RV`s, or trailer trucks for parking.

Pets:
Sorry, no pets allowed. Thank you for understanding!

Quiet Hours (8:00 pm - 7:00 am):
Sound travels easily in this desert neighborhood. No loud music outdoors. To be considerate of neighbors, please keep noise and sound to a minimum and STRICTLY no music after 8:00 pm, especially while outside the house or on the deck. Disruptive noise and neighborhood nuisance puts our rental permit at risk. Initial reports and complaints of noise shall get a first warning. Additional reports and complaints of noise after 30 minutes from the first warning will incur a $200 penalty. Any further reports and complaints afterwards shall warrant an eviction without a refund.

Smoking:
This is a non-smoking home. Smoking is STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED inside. You can smoke outside the house or on the decks with doors and windows closed to keep smoke out. Please make sure to use the provided ashtray to help keep the area clean. Reports of smoke inside the house through our detectors or house cleaners shall incur a $2000 penalty fee.

Guests:
If you`re thinking about inviting friends over, please reach out and ask us. We`re easygoing about inviting a couple of friends over for brunch or dinner, but we want to be considerate of other neighbors in case you are thinking of inviting more than a couple of friends.

Kitchen:
When checking out, please throw dirty dishes into the dishwasher and start the cleaning cycle on Auto (the dishwasher detergent is under the sink). Please wash all used pots, pans, kitchen knives, and other kitchen items by hand.

Never Leave Food or Trash Outside:
Sedona is filled with wildlife. Never leave any food trash outside the house. Please keep them inside. If they have to be taken outside, make sure to keep them in the trash bin and lock it with the cable system at all times.

Wildlife Reminder:
Our most common wild visitors are javelinas, deer, and coyotes. Please do not approach javelinas and make sure to give them space. They come in packs and will attack if they feel any one of them is threatened. They do not run away easily, especially when they smell food. Javelinas will attempt to knock over trash bins and scatter trash everywhere. You can make loud noises to scare them away, such as honking your car horn or banging a cooking pot. Do not harm javelinas - they are creatures protected by the local regulation.

We`ll request for you to sign a rental agreement and a copy of a government photo ID. After signing, you will receive the smart lock door code on the day before your check-in. Noted in the agreement is that we do a $200 security deposit pre-authorization on your card upon check-in. It is automatically released in 7 days if rules are followed and there are no issues at the house after checkout.

Our beautiful cabin, Hickman Hideaway, has everything you need to enjoy your relaxing vacation. Our 2,500+ sq. ft. chalet style vacation rental has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and features hardwood floors, a modern, fully-equipped kitchen with granite counters, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and a BBQ on the deck. We have central heating in the winter and evaporative cooling on the main floor for those occasional warm summer afternoons, making Hickman Hideaway a truly year-round getaway. There is a full size crib in the middle main floor bedroom, with a pack-n-play, high chair and baby gates stored in the closet. Baby monitor and miscellaneous baby items are in the bottom dresser drawer. NOTE: Room in Loft is locked and is not part of the rental.

Both bathrooms have been remodeled. The main floor bathroom has a tub/shower. The lower level master en suite has a shower. With two bathrooms and showers your family won't have to argue over who goes first!

Floor to ceiling windows in the large vaulted ceiling family room look out to pine trees, distant neighbors and a view of the lake. There is a beautiful stone fireplace, two comfortable sofas, a flat screen TV with cable and Roku for your personal sign-in. What a wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful view! We have family-friendly DVDs, books and games for all ages.

The dining area table seats six, with additional seating for two at the eat-at bar. A card table with four chairs is also available.

The loft looks out beyond the pine trees to the lake beyond. In the open loft area is a recliner and lamp for reading or just relaxing. There is also a desk in case you really have to do online schooling or work from the cabin as it is a great place to work from. There is also a table on the other side of the loft for a second work station.

Challenge your friends/family to a game of darts, fooseball, pool, or cards in the recently renovated game room. TV and DVD player are also in the game room. A second stone fireplace is on this level, continuing the cabin feel. This fireplace has an electric insert which is also a space heater.

In the spring, summer or fall relax on the deck with lake views, tall pines, and squirrels running hither and yon! Perhaps you'd rather sneak off with a book, or nap in the hammock under the tall pines, seasonal. The patio table on the deck seats six, and the fire pit seats four.

If you play so hard you need to wash your clothing, we have full size washer and dryer in the laundry room on the main floor, including laundry soap and dryer sheets.

Munds Park is about 2 hours north of Phoenix, 18 minutes south of Flagstaff and 30 minutes from Sedona. You can head north to Snowbowl in about 50 minutes and the Grand Canyon is just 2 hours away for a nice day trip. Munds Park offers activities for all to enjoy - hiking, fishing, ATV riding and more.

Our community of Munds Park/Pinewood has fishing, hiking, off road trails and beautiful mountain scenery. If you sit quietly on our deck, the squirrels will run up and down the trees in front of you, and some evenings you might even catch a glimpse of a deer or elk. In the winter, when there is snow, there are many places to make snow angels, sled, and have your snow ball battles. Snowbowl Ski Resort is less than an hour away.

Hickman Hideaway truly has year-round beauty:

Winter generally brings snow (but not guaranteed!) that is wonderful for sledding, making snow men, snow angels, or just taking a walking and enjoying the hush of a winter wonderland. After playing in the snow it is great to come into the central heating and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa in front of the fireplace. Snow removal is provided for your check in, with shovels for you to maintain any snow fall under 5 inches. If there is more than 5 additional inches of snow during your stay, we will have the upper parking and a walkway cleared again, if necessary.

Spring is beautiful with the blooming wild flowers and perfect temperatures. It can surprise you with a May snowstorm, and the next day be a wonderful day to sit on the deck. The fire pit is a welcome addition to the cooler nights.

Summer will provide a 20 - 30º temperature drop from the Phoenix area, with fabulous days and nights that cool down even more, just in time for a relaxing drink on the back deck.

Fall brings the changing of the leaves, which seem to happen overnight. It almost sounds like you can hear the colors changing. Sit by the fire pit and watch the stars.

Now for the legal:

* We do not allow parties or large groups as we are in a family neighborhood.
* No smoking in the cabin or on the property. Smoking must be done in your car or on the street. There is always fire danger in the forest.
* Sorry, no pets. We love pets, but we have family and guests who choose to stay at Hickman Hideaway because it is animal dander free. They count on us keeping it that way. We hope you understand.
* We have security cameras. Full disclosure here, we have installed two security cameras on the front of the cabin. One faces the parking and walkway into the house, and has audio and records. The other looks over the parking area and does not record, or have audio. The cameras are turned off once the guest has checked in, and are turned back on the morning of check out. We often see wildlife wander around the area. We have our hopes of seeing an elk, but most likely it will just be the birds and squirrels.
* The upstairs loft room is locked as an owners retreat & not part of the rental. There is also a locked owners closet in the lower level that is not part of the rental.

THE SPACE:
This cozy two bedroom and two bathroom cabin features an open concept layout, loft, front/back porches, fenced in backyard and floor to ceiling windows that truly bring the outdoors in. Located just 12 miles north of Sedona and 12 miles south of Flagstaff, there are endless opportunities to explore the local southwestern culture.

Kitchen: The cabin has a fully stocked kitchen complete with a gas oven/stove-top, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, crockpot, coffee maker, etc. It has plenty of pots/pans, BBQ utensils, and stocked with your basic spices and oils.

*Be sure to purchase groceries before heading into the canyon!

Living Room: A gas and wood burning fireplace centers the room. There is a flat screen TV with YouTube TV for your convenience. Other streaming apps are available for you to use your personal credentials on to view, and there is a library of DVDs. Tucked away is an abundance of board games, cards, and puzzles for hours of entertainment.

Loft: This area has wonderful natural light and a nice library ranging everywhere from graphic novels to encyclopedias. It is a perfect place to sit back and enjoy your favorite morning drink, as you enjoy the morning sunshine.

* Due to the nature of the loft area, it may not be suitable for small children.

Bedrooms: Both spacious bedrooms feature walk-in closets and plush queen-sized beds. There is also an air mattress accessible with a heated mattress topper for those cool summer evenings.

Infants: No need to pack all that heavy infant equipment! We have a pack-and-play, highchair and gate for the stairs to accommodate all your infant's needs and ensure their safety with the loft area of the cabin.

Bathrooms: The main floor bathroom has a walk-in shower but no bathtub. The second-floor bathroom has both a bathtub and shower.

* Linens are provided for all sleeping spaces, as well as bath towels and washcloths for each guest. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner

Porch: There are two porches on the property, one leading up to the main entrance and another right off the kitchen. Both have outdoor seating areas for those blissful summer evenings. The back porch also has a gas grill and dining table.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

Guests are welcome to explore the Pine Flats community. If visiting in the winter, 4-wheel drive is recommended. During the spring and summer, the creek passage at the entrance of Pine Flats can occasionally have water running over the bridge from time-to-time, but rarely does this cause an issue. In the event of high water in the creek you may park your vehicle just outside the neighborhood entrance and use the bridge to cross over the creek by foot to access the home.

Booking over 2 weeks (14 days) will require a mandatory mid-stay cleaning, billed separately, in addition to the cleaning charged at booking.

We do accept alterations requests, but require that they be made at least 14 days prior to the start of your original reservation date. Acceptance of the alteration request is at the host's discretion.

Deck living at its best! Large deck for dining and lounging all throughout the day. At night, grab a blanket and enjoy peaceful silence while stargazing in this Dark Sky Community. A perfect getaway from the city for one or two couples, or a family. Nestled in the forest on Animal Hill within walking distance to hiking trails. Amenities include reliable WiFi, streaming services, a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a fenced in back yard. It's a great cabin for all seasons because of AC and heat.

The space
The living room, kitchen, and dining room are all in one room under rustic beams for a cozy feel.

The coffee and cocktail nook is equipped with the following: charcuterie boards, charcuterie utensils, wine opener, bottle opener, wine glasses, champagne flutes, an 18 piece bartender drink set, a Ninja Coffee and Tea Maker with a frother attachment, free provided coffee and sugar in containers next to the coffee maker, 3 different flavor of coffee syrups, large and small coffee mugs, a coffee grinder, a microwave, a retro 4-slot toaster, free dog biscuits, and a bin for extra storage of bottles or whatever needs storing, and a first aid kit in the drawer.

Please note: more specialty drink glasses and extra glasses and cups are located in the cabinets such as martini glasses, etc. Also, located in the cabinet is the tea filter that is used to make tea in the Ninja Coffee and Tea Maker. No tea is provided.

The kitchen contains the following: dishes, pots, pans, storage containers, mixing bowls, a blender, strainer, serving dishes, silverware, knives, large serving spoons, spatulas, mixing spoons, full large utensils available on the counter, a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, spice rack, drying rack, and cutting boards. Board games are located next to the coffee nook.

The living room and bedrooms have smart televisions. Device charging stations are available on all nightstands in bedrooms. TVs have a charging station and power strip to connect game consoles if needed.

The fire extinguisher is located in the pantry.

Dog Nook under the stairs contains a rug, hooks for leashes, collars, etc. A bin with tennis balls, food and water bowls, poop bags, and a leash to use if you happen to forget yours.

Guest access
The entire two story cabin is accessible to our guests, including the gated deck. Guests will be able to access the front and backyard. The back yard is fully fenced in. The garage is not accessible. There is ample parking on the property. Parking is located next to the cabin on the rock and paved driveway. In front of the deck is an extra parking space on rocks if needed. It may also be used as a yard game/play area. Bring your own yard games.

Other things to note
Our televisions are set to guest mode options for streaming through Roku. Please know your username and password so you can stream your personal profile. You will be able to continue watching what you are watching at home while away on vacation!

Sedona is located around 30 minutes from Munds Park. You can enjoy wine tasting, fine-dining, the mind-blowing uniqueness of the red rocks, and many outdoor adventures. Sedona can get hot because it sits at a lower elevation than Munds Park. You can spend part of your day in Sedona and come back to enjoy the cooler weather the woods provide at our cabin.

The cabin is just 2 hours from Phoenix, 20 minutes to Flag, 2 hours to Antelope Canyon/Page, 45 minutes to Sedona, 30 minutes to Snowbowl and an hour and half to the Grand Canyon. All of which makes the perfect home base to enjoy lots of exploring and adventuring!

The is a modern A-frame cabin where guests have access to the entire place. From large chalet windows and doors to hardwood floors throughout. The cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bathroom is on the main floor. The cabin sleeps 8

Guest room 1 has a king bed, a Smart TV access and is on the main floor.

The loft is a shared space that is upstairs, with guest room 3 but also has a large sectional for sleeping and entertaining. This is the perfect area to watch a movie or play a game.

Outside offers Munds Park front porch sitting and outback has a beautiful deck with a table and Propane grill to make a perfect meal! We also have a fire pit to grill up some delicious smores or lounge in the hammock in the trees.

This is one of the few cabins that has central AC and heat and a wood burning fireplace.

Quiet hours in the park are from 10 pm to 8 am. We do have full time neighbors so we do ask that our guests respect the quiet hours.

No events or parties are allowed at the cabin.

No smoking of any substances inside the cabin.

No burning of incense or candles at anytime.

The cabin is about 15 minutes from the nearest grocery store in Flagstaff. Instacart delivers to Munds Park if you would like to have your groceries delivered after you check in. You will want to plan accordingly however, the local gas station does have a mini-mart with a large supply of necessities.

This house features a fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedroom 2 full bath, dinning table that accommodates 6 and kitchen bar for 4. All bedrooms provide a smart TV for streaming. Enjoy the Livingroom to cozy up next to the TV and fireplace. Enjoy the beautiful scenery on the wrap around deck. The back deck has a beautiful view for you to enjoy. It is equipped with a table for 6, Adirondack chair seating next to the propane firepit on those chilly nights. Munds Park is known for its clear sky's to star gaze.

- "This property was very clean. It was beautiful and enjoyable. We just have a couple of suggestions. First of all, it was extremely difficult to find the address of the house/cabin. It would be best to put a light above the address that is on the garage, or it would be the best to put the address on a little post at the edge of the driveway. Also, we did not have enough wash cloths and hand towels for everyone. We said five adults were coming and we did not have five washcloths and five hand towels. We had more than enough bath towels. It would be nice to have a little instruction booklet that explains how do use the outdoor fire pit, outdoor heater, thermostat inside the house, the fireplace inside the house, etc. I must say this is the first VBRO house I have been to that did not have a little booklet explaining these things. in the bathroom with the tub, someone from our group slipped and fell in the tub and dislocated his finger. It would be a good idea to put some of strips or non-slip some thing on the bottom of the tub. It would be good to have instructions sent out at least two days before arrival. I want you to know how much we enjoyed your house, I don’t want you to think with all these suggestions we did not have a great time. We all wish we had more time to stay there. It is beautiful, relaxing, and a nice area, and very clean and enjoyable. Thank you so much for all the work you did on fixing up that house. Take care."

Nestled against red rock canyon walls, amidst tall Ponderosa pines and Sycamore trees. Our unique cabins were designed for intimacy and exclusive to the enjoyment of couples or that individual looking to re-energize within a tranquil getaway. The cabins are situated in a cluster setting, about 10 or more feet apart and turned in such a way as to afford a great deal of privacy...a unique value of experience and geographic setting.

Each of our three chalet-style cedar vacation rental cabins offer the same floor plan. 500 square feet of comfortable space.

Downstairs is the main living area. A love seat faces the electric fireplace, and a comfortable chair, plenty of lighting for reading, an efficient kitchen and dining area and a private bath with a jacuzzi/shower combination. The bathtubs have grab bars for safety.

A sliding glass door leads to the private patio or deck.

Upstairs in the open loft, there is a queen size bed, armoire, and a comfortable chair. Plenty of lighting. Outside upstairs deck with table and chairs. Screen door for fresh air. Lots of light and windows.

A car is the best way to get around Sedona.

The cabin has 4 bedrooms with 2 upstairs bedrooms - one with King bed and other with twin bunk beds. The 2 downstairs bedrooms have one with Queen bed and other with twin bunk beds. We have 1/2 bathroom upstairs and 2 beautifully remodeled full bathrooms downstairs - one with tub/shower combo and other just shower that is attached to Queen bedroom.

We are located in the small community of Munds Park which is 20 minutes south of Flagstaff. We are 45 minutes to Sedona and Williams. 1 hour to Jerome and 1 1/2 hours to the Grand Canyon. Perfect spot to hit all the amazing Northern Arizona sights, but also stay in beautiful small town Munds Park with its relaxed friendly vibe. It’s just a short walk to the end of our street to catch a beautiful trail along a ravine that leads to the National Forest in one direction and to Odell Lake in the other direction. At Odell Lake you can fish and kayak - bring your fishing poles and kayak! They have a Farmers Market every weekend during the summer at Munds Park. There is a ATV rental in Munds Park - so you can make a day trip and ride to Mormon Lake in one direction or Sedona in the other! We are on a heavily wooded corner lot with 2 empty lots behind us. The neighbor’s houses in front of us are below the street line so when sitting on the front patio you are just looking out into the tree tops - so private, serene, peaceful, relaxing and gorgeous! The house is fully stocked with brand new top of the line kitchen everything and all the extras in the bathroom to make your stay luxurious - including new luxury towels, hair dryer, flat iron, shower steamers, cotton balls, Qtips and makeup remover wipes!

The entire house is yours to experience your own “Bella Vita” with the exception of the kitchen pantry and upstairs bunkbed closet, which are locked for owners access only and contain our supplies to help us prep for the next guests. Feel free to use anything else that you see!

Cabin 10 has a living area with Queen Memory Foam Sleeper Sofa and TV as well as a Dining Bar that seats 4, a well equipped Kitchenette stocked with everything you need to make a wonderful meal or just store your leftovers from one of Sedona's fine restaurants! There is also a bedroom with a TV and a king size bed and can sleep up to 4 people. There is 1 bath with a walk-in shower featuring a skylight! Cabin 10 or Honeymoon Cabin has a claw foot soaking tub and Fireplace!

This cabin also has a patio equipped with a outdoor table and 4 chairs as well as a propane BBQ and VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS! We also have a .25 acre garden area with a beautiful waterfall, tall flowing trees and beautiful grass and foliage as well as a gas fire-pit on the common patio! Just steps out our front door we offer a private creek access for our guests! We are also just a 1/2 mile from Slide Rock State Park and only 5.5 miles from Sedona City Limits. It is a beautiful drive up the canyon as well to Flagstaff, Skiing, or the Grand Canyon!

Except for a few off-limit cabinets and closets, guests will have the entire home to themselves.

Accessibility: Whether entering from the garage or front door guests will have to utilize stairs to access and use the cabin. The mother-in-law suite is on the ground level. Everything else requires stairs to access.

Other things to note
After booking you will be sent a link to your online guest registration form. This is though us directly. Guest registration must be completed to receive information to access property. However, property access information is not available earlier than 5 days prior to check-in.

We collect the following information during registration;
- All adult guests: Names
- Main Guest: Email, phone number, DOB, copy of Gov't ID
- Vehicle information

As is the case with most homes here in the mountains, there is no AC. There are many ceiling fans throughout the home. The ground level space (Mother-in-Law suite) stays nice and cool 😊 We highly recommend openings the windows in the evenings during the warmer months 😁

Town Ordinance: No street parking From Nov. 1st through April 1st. There is plenty of off-street parking spaces available, please try to only utilize the driveway and garage. This helps keep the streets clear for easy navigation by residents.

Cleaning fee will be an additional $50 for stays 7 days or longer. This is to make sure we are providing the utmost cleanliness experience for all of our guests.
