Blackberry Cabin is a cozy log cabin set back on an acre of pine and fruit trees in the community of Whispering Pines. The fenced backyard leads to the banks of the East Verde, sometimes a gushing river, other times a rocky stream, where locals wade and catch the stocked trout. Riverbanks are lined by grass, flowers and blackberries which you are welcome to pick! Our property includes a unique stone embankment where swallows and other birds like to zip by, with a steep hill behind leading to national forest land. Watch for wandering deer and elk!

Inside there is an open living and dining area with a fully stocked kitchen - just bring your favorite food! There is a loft bedroom with a pleasant sitting area close to the air on warm afternoons, with room for friends or family in the sleeper couch below. On cool fall or winter nights the toasty wood stove will keep you warm with that lovely radiant heat.

Whispering Pines is a small neighborhood of full time residents and visitors escaping the heat and bustle of the city! It is minutes from excellent hiking trails at Washington Park and various public access points on the East Verde. Our Chalet offers a large loft Bedroom with a queen bed. Beautiful views of the Mogollon Rim from the bed, and of the National Forest to the back. Downstairs bedroom has full bed. In the living room you will find a wonderful wood burning stove. The living room has incredible views from the cathedral like windows. Kitchen has everything except your food. Outdoor deck is very private with tall pine trees providing lovely shade. Our cabin is located at the very back of the lot right up to the National Forest. It is in a very private setting. If you are looking for a cozy couples retreat, we think you've found it! Note, the Century Link Internet out in the forest is spotty at times. Please don't expect it to work well, and after all it's not why we are up there!

They get to watch the birds and squirrels out the windows while I hike and rock climb in the area. This year we were almost derailed by the Brady fire, but persevered and I am so glad we did. Mid levels include two more large bed rooms, one king, one queen, a bath, complete kitchen, dining area and the great room furnished to lend itself to enjoying satellite HDTV, reading, games, and conversation areas.

The lower levels include one bedroom, queen size and a bunk bed, another bath, and an amazing oversized game room with a wood burning stove, ping pong table, piano, TVm, games, music, puzzles--even a queen wall bed and pull out bed for extra sleepers.

The kitchen/dining area is complete with microwave, dishwasher, disposal, cookware, dishes, utensils, blender, mixer, coffee pot, toaster, etc. Also stocked with flour, sugar, salt, pepper, spices, .--Big table with leaves in hall closet. Good for family or holiday feast. Adjoining patio has table, chairs & BBQ s for picnic style dining.

There are electric heaters under each bathroom vanity in the bed rooms living room and game room. However, the preferred heating method is to sit in front of the fireplace or wood stove with a cup of hot chocolate.

Towels and extra linens are found in hall closet. Iron is in laundry room (lower level, W/D, soap)

The cabin was completely renovated in 2011 with a strong feeling of the old west.The large stone fireplace along with propane heat keep the cabin warm and cozy. The spacious upstairs loft features queen size and full size beds. There is one single rollaway available for extra sleeping downstairs. Kids love the separate bunk house out back. Kitchen has all the features of a modern home with a dinning table and bar. Bathroom has a shower/vintage claw foot tub combo along with a washer and dryer. All towels, linens and paper products are provided. There is a covered wrap around porch that features views of Myrtle Point, gorgeous pine, juniper and oak trees. Renters can relax around the table on the porch which has plenty of room to enjoy an outside meal. A year round spring attracts wildlife with frequent viewings of elk and turkey. We encourage you to bring your horses -- the riding is fantastic in the Tonto National Forest, which is right through the back gate. There are two 12x12 clean horse pens. Water provided. Renters are responsible for their horses feed and vet supplies.
We do not allow ATVs on the property except during hunting seasons. There is a 4 adult limit.
