Our property includes a unique stone embankment where swallows and other birds like to zip by, with a steep hill behind leading to national forest land. Watch for wandering deer and elk!

Our Chalet offers a large loft Bedroom with a queen bed. Beautiful views of the Mogollon Rim from the bed, and of the National Forest to the back. Downstairs bedroom has full bed. In the living room you will find a wonderful wood burning stove. The living room has incredible views from the cathedral like windows. Kitchen has everything except your food. Outdoor deck is very private with tall pine trees providing lovely shade. Our cabin is located at the very back of the lot right up to the National Forest. It is in a very private setting. If you are looking for a cozy couples retreat, we think you've found it! Note, the Century Link Internet out in the forest is spotty at times. Please don't expect it to work well, and after all it's not why we are up there!

They get to watch the birds and squirrels out the windows while I hike and rock climb in the area. This year we were almost derailed by the Brady fire, but persevered and I am so glad we did. The lower levels include one bedroom, queen size and a bunk bed, another bath, and an amazing oversized game room with a wood burning stove, ping pong table, piano, TVm, games, music, puzzles--even a queen wall bed and pull out bed for extra sleepers.

The kitchen/dining area is complete with microwave, dishwasher, disposal, cookware, dishes, utensils, blender, mixer, coffee pot, toaster, etc. Also stocked with flour, sugar, salt, pepper, spices, .--Big table with leaves in hall closet. Good for family or holiday feast. Adjoining patio has table, chairs & BBQ s for picnic style dining.

There are electric heaters under each bathroom vanity in the bed rooms living room and game room. However, the preferred heating method is to sit in front of the fireplace or wood stove with a cup of hot chocolate.

The cabin was completely renovated in 2011 with a strong feeling of the old west.The large stone fireplace along with propane heat keep the cabin warm and cozy. The spacious upstairs loft features queen size and full size beds. There is one single rollaway available for extra sleeping downstairs. Kids love the separate bunk house out back. Kitchen has all the features of a modern home with a dinning table and bar. Bathroom has a shower/vintage claw foot tub combo along with a washer and dryer. All towels, linens and paper products are provided. There is a covered wrap around porch that features views of Myrtle Point, gorgeous pine, juniper and oak trees. Renters can relax around the table on the porch which has plenty of room to enjoy an outside meal. A year round spring attracts wildlife with frequent viewings of elk and turkey. We encourage you to bring your horses -- the riding is fantastic in the Tonto National Forest, which is right through the back gate. There are two 12x12 clean horse pens. Water provided. Renters are responsible for their horses feed and vet supplies.
We do not allow ATVs on the property except during hunting seasons. There is a 4 adult limit.

Nested in the trees, on Christopher Creek, enjoy the opportunity to leave your troubles behind in comfortable summer temperatures. Create memories with your friends and family while sitting (napping?) on the deck as the water bubbles by. If you prefer to move around, there are many hiking trails outside the cabin door, also a short 15-20 minute walk to local restaurants.

This double A frame cabin has one bedroom on the main floor with a full-size bed and a set of bunk beds. The TV room has a pull-out couch, the loft upstairs has a Queen. Two adorable bathrooms with claw foot bath tubs for leisurely soaks, (one has a shower). Towels and sheets are provided.

Kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, blender, waffle maker, coffee and tea provided, basic spices and condiments.

There are two sitting areas on either side of the house allowing separate time for kids and adults; the yard is fenced, dogs (maximum 2) under 30 lbs. each permitted. The fence is pretty short in some area's (~30") which should be taken into consideration.

The temperature can fluctuate during the day in the summer months. We have two split unit HVAC units if it gets warmer in the afternoons. For cooler weather, the same units provide heat.

Your children are welcome, please note the deck and spiral staircase to the loft have open railings and are not child-proof.

We offer WiFi, the TV is available to play DVD's with a small selection provided, or rental options available in the supermarkets in Payson. The Roku is available in guest mode to allow sign-in to your favorite streaming services.

The kitchen includes cherry cabinetry, granite counter tops, large kitchen island, and all of the kitchenware needed to prepare the perfect meal. The master bedroom is outfitted with a Top-Rated King memory foam mattress, ceiling fan and direct access to the bathroom that includes a walk-in travertine shower. The second bedroom provides very comfortable Queen and Full beds along with a ceiling fan. The BEST room of the house is the Front deck. Please Note!! Due to the remote location of this property, there is a few things to be aware of when booking your stay.
1. Water in this area is limited and there is no city water access. Local wells provide the water supply and there is a rain water catchment system. Water conservation is VERY important when staying at a remote cabin like this. There is plenty of water, just not enough to waste.
2. Abundant wildlife is also present as in all forests. Don't be surprised to find Elk or other critters living in the forest with you.
3. In this fast paced life we live in now, sometimes it's nice to just unplug and unwind without the distractions of the everyday life. If you must stay connected, there is wireless internet connectivity that can be provided for an additional fee.
4. There are exterior cameras on property. These are to protect our guests, the property owners, and who are we kidding... we like to watch the wildlife from time to time ourselves when we are not there.

In addition to being our largest cabin, this deluxe option offers a second room featuring an indoor jacuzzi along with a pulldown futon couch.

The cabin boasts a romantic gas fireplace, a fully equipped kitchenette (excluding an oven), a mini refrigerator, 2 stove top burners, coffee maker, a microwave, and Wi-Fi. For entertainment, you’ll find two flat-screen smart TVs (with one firestick)—one positioned for viewing from the bed and the other from the large jacuzzi.

Outdoor amenities include a private charcoal grill, a private porch with a porch swing and a private picnic table. You also have access to two shared community propane grills (propane is provided), a common fire pit area (both a wood firepit and a propane fire ring for any fire department restricted no burn days), plenty of community rocking chairs placed around the property, and reserved free parking. We provide coffee, powdered creamer, sugar, salt and pepper, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, dish soap, towels, and linens.

Our cabins offer breathtaking forested views of the Mogollon Rim. Wooden Nickel Cabins offers one of six separate cabins backing up to Tonto National Forest located in charming Christopher Creek, just 20 miles east of Payson AZ. We have a game room and small playground on-site. Guests can hike into Tonto National Forest right out the back door of their cabin or there are several designated trailheads in the area. Creeks and lakes are accessible in the surrounding areas as well.

Other things to note
Cabins are completely furnished. Each cabin has a bedroom, and a loft with made beds, full bath with towels provided. Living area completed with Wifi access (Password will be provided upon check in), a flat screen tv connected to satellite (please note satellite may lose signal during inclement weather), window a/c, heat. Kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove top range (no oven), microwave, toaster, coffee maker and dishes including: pots, pans, plates, cups, saucers, bowls, and silverware.

1. Forest fires are a great danger to our area, please follow all forest fire protocols and burn day restrictions.

2. Guests and visitors should comply with the parking regulations and requirements and must show consideration to other vehicles in the neighborhood.
Onsite parking limited. Please feel free use cemented area for loading and unloading, then please park your vehicle in parking areas available for your use so that the concrete driving area does not remain blocked for other guests on property.
3. Absolutely NO smoking inside of the Cabins.
Designated smoking areas available on back patio and front porch. Please do not leave doors or windows open at anytime while smoking. Please discard of cigarette butts and ashes in the ashtrays provided.
We ask that if you venture off property into the Mountains behind our property that you kindly leave lighters/matches and cigarettes behind, to prevent the possibility of any forest fires starting.
4. Parties and events are allowed on a case by case basis, please inquire ahead.
5. No unregistered guests or visitors allowed.
6. For the consideration of other guests on the property we have implemented a sound ordinance between the hours of 9pm and 9 am.
7. No eating or drinking in bedrooms. Please enjoy your meal in the dining room or common living area.
8. Dispose of garbage in the trash bin.
9. Keep a close eye on your kids at all times.
10. Dogs are allowed. Guests will be charged a pet fee per day per dog. You are expected and required to dispose of your pet's waste and keep your dog on a leash at all times. Do not leave your pet unattended in the cabin. All pet owners must bring their own furniture covers (i.e: sheets or blankets brought from home) if you wish to allow your pets on the furniture including beds.
11. Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and any electronics when you leave the house. Don't forget to close the windows and lock the door.
12. Report any damages and/or breakages in a reasonably timely manner. Damages exceeding the security deposit amount must be paid by guests and will be reported to vrbo.
13. Wash the dishes, and throw out the garbage before checkout.
14. Check out is no later than 11 am.
15. Rental agreement must be agreed to and signed.

A few miles up highway 260 is the Mogollon Rim Visitor Center with breathtaking views! This is your jumping off point for Willow Springs Lake and Wood Canyon Lake where you can rent a kayak or fishing boat for a day of lake fun.

If you decide to stay home, there is still plenty of adventure to be found right in your yard. Look for the elk that like to rest amongst the rose brambles on the south side of the yard! Or explore the romantic old double swing or various little sitting areas around the property. Or just sit on the deck and keep an eye out for passing raccoons, javelina, deer, elk, fox, turkey, weasels, all kinds of birds...and even an occasional visit from a mountain lion or bear!

The master features the most romantic skylight for all-night star gazing! An antique window set high in the wall casts a warm glow when the living room fire is going! Skylights offer plenty of light and a glimpse of the ponderosa pines right outside. You can even watch out the kitchen window while prepping dinner for the resident raccoon or elk wandering through the back yard!

In the sunroom: Kick back and read one of the many antique books that describe the local flora and fauna! This room is all double paned windows and insulted; the evap cooler reaches into there and there is an AC in there that you can utilize should you desire. The town of Payson, located about 15 miles to the west, offers loads of wonderful restaurants, antique shops and grocery stores. Be sure to grab your groceries on the way up!

Guest access
We have a game room and small playground on-site. Guests can hike into Tonto National Forest right out the back door of their cabin or there are several designated trailheads in the area. Creeks and lakes are accessible in the surrounding areas as well.

Cabins are completely furnished. Each cabin has a bedroom, and a loft with made beds, full bath with towels provided. Living area completed with Wifi access (Password will be provided upon check in), a flat screen tv connected to satellite (please note satellite may lose signal during inclement weather), window a/c, heat. Kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove top range (no oven), microwave, toaster, coffee maker and dishes including: pots, pans, plates, cups, saucers, bowls, and silverware.

2. Guests and visitors should comply with the parking regulations and requirements and must show consideration to other vehicles in the neighborhood.
Onsite parking limited. Please feel free use cemented area for loading and unloading, then please park your vehicle in parking areas available for your use so that the concrete driving area does not remain blocked for other guests on property.
3. Absolutely NO smoking inside of the Cabins.
Designated smoking areas available on back patio and front porch. Please do not leave doors or windows open at anytime while smoking. Please discard of cigarette butts and ashes in the ashtrays provided.
We ask that if you venture off property into the Mountains behind our property that you kindly leave lighters/matches and cigarettes behind, to prevent the possibility of any forest fires starting.
4. Parties and events are allowed on a case by case basis, please inquire ahead.
5. No unregistered guests or visitors allowed.
6. For the consideration of other guests on the property we have implemented a sound ordinance between the hours of 9pm and 9 am.
7. No eating or drinking in bedrooms. Please enjoy your meal in the dining room or common living area.
8. Dispose of garbage in the trash bin.
9. Keep a close eye on your kids at all times.
10. Dogs are allowed. Guests will be charged a pet fee per day per dog. You are expected and required to dispose of your pet's waste and keep your dog on a leash at all times. Do not leave your pet unattended in the cabin. All pet owners must bring their own furniture covers (i.e: sheets or blankets brought from home) if you wish to allow your pets on the furniture including beds.
11. Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and any electronics when you leave the house. Don't forget to close the windows and lock the door.
12. Report any damages and/or breakages in a reasonably timely manner. Damages exceeding the security deposit amount must be paid by guests and will be reported to vrbo.
13. Wash the dishes, and throw out the garbage before checkout.
14. Check out is no later than 11 am.
15. Rental agreement must be agreed to and signed.

Your are in the forrest so the possibility of rodents or bugs is possible. We have taken many steps to keep them away and out of the cabin. We sprayed yard and around perimeter, set traps and provided high frequency anti bug/rodent electronic plug in devices located in every room. You'll see the flashing lights. This has kept 98% out but every once in while a mouse may sneak in. Please know this is rare and would appreciate notifying me so we can take care of it asap. Please push main trash container and set outside back street gate when checking out, so Roadrunner trash service can pick up. Trash pick up Tuesdays about 6:00am. Thanks.. PS: recently changed to monthly rental or longer. potential to purchase if desired... I have removed all discounts for weekly and monthly as Ive lowered price 50-60% currently for month to month rental.. remember Im paying for utilities providing a hot tub, wood, fulled fenced huge lot, lots of parking in and out, lots of storage, view of rim and 50 yards form East Verde River. Relaxing log cabin that backs up to the Tonto National Forest. Recently remodeled with tile floors and updated kitchen. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Walk out your back gate to the Tonto national Forest and go hiking. Pick up fossils and agate or dig for crystals at diamond point. There is parking for four so no need to worry about your trailer or off road vehicles. We have a gated parking area. There are off road trails right from our street.

The space
Living Room
The living room has a limestone fireplace and vaulted ceiling with wooden beams. There is a leather couch and chair sitting by the fire. There is also a dining room table with 4 chairs looking out windows to the pine Forrest. There is no WIFI in this cabin.
Bedroom
There is an adjustable Queen bed with memory foam mattress and two small side tables with lamps. This is a tiny home so there are hooks for your clothes on the walls.
Kitchen
The kitchen is newly remodeled with all your basic kitchen essentials. It is equipped with a stove, microwave, coffee pot, and large new fridge. There is not a dishwasher but we are close enough to a restaurant to walk to dinner.
Loft
The loft is accessible to the downstairs with a ladder. The ladder is sturdy and pretty easy to access. Once upstairs in the loft you can go to the right to sleep on a Queen bed or to the left for a small fold out couch/small single bed. There is also a VHS TV player upstairs and some VHS tapes in the drawers. The tapes are all children and family friendly. The TV will need to be plugged in to utilize. There is no WIFI in the cabin so please be sure to download some movies on your phone. We also have lots of DVDs for the family to watch.

The space
Located in Beaver Valley Estates, 15 minutes from the town of Payson. Crossing the Rio Verde river, two blocks from the bridge. The only stone house on the block. Includes two bedrooms one and half a bathroom.

2nd bedroom has the bunk beds, a daybed with a pull out bed and a small blue convertible bed. Individual wall heaters in the bedrooms. Blackout curtains in both rooms. Smart outlets.

Only 5 miles from town, East Verde Estates is an amazing neighborhood tucked away in Tonto National Forest. The Verde River flows through the community & is available for fishing (when stocked) & swimming. There is also a trail at the end of the street that follows the river.

The space
Our beautiful cabin is fully furnished with everything you need for a fabulous getaway in a quiet private neighborhood. There is a full kitchen with a Keurig (some select cups provided) and regular coffee maker (coffee provided), waffle maker, blender, and more. Please help yourself to use any of these. We have 2 family rooms where 1 is equipped with many board games, dvd's, and popcorn maker (owner will provide popcorn for your use). There is also wifi (which can sometimes be spotty) and direct tv. There are also several bicycles that you may use at your own caution (most of neighborhood is dirt roads and have some slight hills). We also love to go sledding and have many sleds that may be used at your own caution as well (please ask us about our favorite sledding spot just 3 short miles away.)

Please respect our home. We wish to continue to share it with others for years to come. You may be charged up to $150 for any damage.

There is only room for 3-4 cars in front of the house. There is ABSOLUTELY NO street parking.

The room with queen lodge pole bed is only inside access to back family room (red walls), master bedroom, and back deck. You can go through the garage and around to the front door if this is an inconvenience of going through a bedroom.

There will also be a $175 cleaning fee charged.

We do not have trash service so you will need to take your trash with you.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO parties or events.

Late checkout or early check in may be available for extra fee and must be approved by owner first in advance before the start of your stay.

***There is a river crossing to get into neighborhood. During monsoon season or very heavy rain, there is a possibility of flooding over the bridge. This does not happen too often but there is a slight chance.***

This is a 1290 sqft cabin in a quite community north of payson. The cabin offers a master bedroom and master bath with jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom is small with a full size mattress and there is a good size loft with twin beds and a desk. A well stocked kitchen and a living room with beautiful views. There is a small laundry room. There are 2 TVs, 1 in the master-bedroom and the second one in the living room.
