This bright and fresh cottage is tucked away in the trees among other cottages. The property is also RV friendly if you want to park your own camper or trailer on the site. The property has a modern kitchen, modern bathroom, flat screen TV, fire pit and more. It is very close to one of the nicest parks and beaches on Lake Michigan. We are very proud of this property! This property is clean and new and the beach is only a few steps down from the bluff above, making it perfect for families.

We ended up getting an air mattress and sleeping on that plus the couch (not folded out) because the mattress on the hide-a-bed didn’t seem like it would be comfortable to sleep on. We welcome both short-term and mid-term (30 days or more) rentals from October through the end of April.

The Crane's Nest is a beautiful 3 bedroom, one bath cottage near Lake Michigan and located in the Lake Michigan Beach area. Newly remodeled. We want our guests to feel a range of emotions when entering The Crane's Nest. Cozy, comfortable, relaxing, nautical and romantic. This cottage is fully stocked with supplies for campfires, grilling, cooking and games for the whole family. We are one mile south of Roadside Park (public beach) and one mile north of Hagar Park (public beach). We are perfectly located between St. Joseph (9 miles south) and South haven (12 miles north). With so much to see and do in both directions.
The Crane's Nest is a Family friendly cottage. We are not large enough inside or outside for parties. We rank very high on decor, cleanliness and activities.

Our 2 bedroom cottage is located just a few minutes from three public beaches. This newly remodeled house has a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room, main bedroom with queen bed, and 2nd bedroom with two bunk beds. Recently we updated the main bedroom with a new bed and a new memory foam matress. The bathroom was also entirely renewed. All rooms have wooden floors with new furniture. For your convenience, there is a washer and dryer for quick laundry. We provide sheets and towels. The house has wireless internet as well as two TVs with Netflix, HULU, HBO MAX, and live TV. Both TVs have DVD players with many movies for kids and adults to enjoy.
The house can accommodate 6 people.
Our beautiful backyard with many trees provides a perfect spot for recreation, outdoor activities, and morning coffee. There is a gas grill and a separate bonfire place. You can dine outside in a large wooden patio, relax in two comfortable hammocks, or warm up by a fire pit at night. For your convenience, there is an outside shower (hot and cold water) and an additional toilet, all surrounded by a privacy fence.
There is plenty of space to enjoy outdoor sports. Our kids love playing tetherball, badminton, and volleyball. Game sets are in the backyard and the guests are most welcome to enjoy them.

- "This cottage was the perfect little getaway for us and the location was great. Located between St. Joseph and South Haven, we enjoyed exploring both towns. Hagar Park beach was the perfect beach (beautiful and way less crowded than others) to spend our time at and is just a minute away from the cottage. The owner was also very quick to respond. We also loved the outside shower option here and were able to wash sand from the beach off. The only negatives I would say at all was there were things that could’ve been cleaned a little better (appliances, dishes in the cabinets, ceiling fans) and there is a musty smell in the cottage. But I hate to even mention those because overall was a wonderful experience. Would stay again!"

- "Three generations and fun for all. Everything was so great. One of the best stocked houses we’ve rented in terms of products to get you started. Toilet paper, spices,etc. kitchen appliances were fantastic although the kitchen wasn’t organized to make it easy to find things. The whole house was spacious and welcoming. The house was decked out with a lot of tech bells and whistles but there was a lot of attention paid to the precarious function of it all. We were troubleshooting all week. But of course it was our choice (well, our kids) to make it an issue. If it was up to me we would have been totally unplugged! - "We had a blast. There's a huge theme park in Muskegon that wasn't too busy during the week. A nearby air and space museum was a blast, too. This property is 2-3 minutes from some beaches that weren't crowded at all. Up to date appliances, three large TV's." - "This is a nice cottage with view of Lake Michigan. Can sit on quiet back deck and listen to the lake. We had a nice evening fire in the fire pit. We did not walk to the beach as it would have been along a busy road. This 3-bed, 2-bath house includes a sun porch, large back deck and firepit.

The bedrooms are cozy in size with tons of natural light and high-quality beds and linens. Primary bedroom has California King with a private ensuite bath. Second bedroom queen, third bedroom are bunk beds. Both baths were remodeled and include modern fixtures/ amenities.

In the summer, long relaxing hours will be spent on expansive back deck overlooking the yard. This space is well shaded, and kids can explore the backyard safely as it is completely fenced in. There is a open outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. Evenings are filled with smores around the firepit.

The house has a bright sunroom and sit-in kitchen to enjoy your quiet early morning coffee. There is a woodsy lounge themed family room. Perfect for cozy cooler evenings.

- "We really enjoyed this little house. It's out on a dirt road, and some of the neighbor houses are run-down, but once we stepped inside everything was perfect! Very clean, well maintained. They thought of everything! The owners have a couple of beach chairs, beach towels, and a beach bag that can be used, super nice touch. Lots of little things that really improved our vacation. The owner was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. There is no AC, but even during a hot week, we were totally comfortable inside. There are fans in every room. We felt safe and enjoyed the nature all around the house. There is a beach access about a mile away, it's about three flights of stairs down to the beach from that point. We also just drove down to silver beach, about 15 minutes, and enjoyed that beach access (no stairs) and downtown St Joe, too. We definitely recommend this little, sweet cottage!"

This is an affordable Michigan cottage that sleeps up to 2 people. It has window A/C unit, gas furnace, keyless & contactless entry, complete kitchen, outdoor space, and comes professionally cleaned and sanitized with fresh linens, towels, coffee station with grounds, and basic soaps.

The space
We have updated many parts of the cottage (see pictures) and continue to do so, however the cottage will show its age and character at times. If you are looking for a white-glove experience, this may not be the best option for you. However, if you are looking for a clean , comfortable, & affordable space, very close to beaches and well-positioned between Saint Joseph & South Haven (in a quiet area of Hagar Shores), with all of the amenities of a home, this is a great option for your stay!

This smaller yet restful and pleasant studio apartment sleeps 2 guests on a new queen bed and is fully furnished. Full Kitchen, gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, on demand hot water, and yes, coffee pot. Make yourself at home!

Enjoy an evening around the fire pit or a cat nap in one of our hammocks. Sitting on 3/4 acre; there is plenty of open space to enjoy for outdoor activities.

Known for its sandy beaches and dense woods, Hagar Shores is conveniently located right north of Saint Joseph and just south of South Haven. There is a pizza & burger place right across the street that is walkable. There is also a Dollar General about a 1/2 mile up the road for any last minute needs.

Along this route you will have convenient access to free public beaches , state parks and bike trails. Welcome to Sand Castles Cottages, Cottage 7. (See all nine at www.airbnb.com/p/scc) We are 1 mile to 2 public beaches and located between St. Joseph & South Haven, MI. Our property is unique in that we have 9 vacation rental cottages on one acre. Built between the 1930s-50s, it is one of the last properties of this type along Lake Michigan in this area. We have tried to keep the old charm while adding modern amenities. You can rent 1-9, depending on your group size.

The space
Cottage 7 is an ORIGINAL TINY HOUSE! We have tried to keep this 1950s cottage’s charming vintage feel but updated this cottage with modern amenities.
This studio cottage sleeps 2 with a queen bed, all linens provided. There is a private bathroom with shower and a kitchenette with Keurig, toaster oven, microwave, and induction cooktop. A table for two is inside and there is outdoor seating in the yard.
Basically everything is provided for your stay except personal toiletries and food. There is an HDTV with Roku providing hundreds of channels and WiFi.
Outside there is a gas grill and charcoal grill (charcoal not included but often left from previous guests) plus a communal fire pit nearby (firewood provided). We have two screened in gazebos that are available to all our guests. There are outdoor games between cottages 3 and 8.

There is plenty of outdoor seating and dining in front of cottage and a communal fire pit nearby with firewood provided. Outdoor games including corn hole, croquet, ring toss, ladder ball, and disc golf. Across the property is a swing set and sand box with toys.

Our cottages can be rented all at once to provide accommodations for groups!
There can be the potential for traffic noise because of our road frontage on m63, however, this is probably the quietest cottage.
No tents please!

The space
Our cottage 5 an adorable 1940s two bedroom cottage that has had modern updates. Although it is small, we have tried to stock it with everything you will need during your stay.

PLEASE NOTE, we just updated cottage 5 kitchen with all new cabinets, flooring, and countertops. We also changed the arrangement of the twin bedroom. There will now be 3 twin beds, one with a trundle, to make a total of 4 twin beds. Pictures show the updates.

The kitchen has an apartment size gas range, dishwasher, full size fridge, dishes and cooking utensils.

The dining table seats 6. The living room has a sofa and rocking/swivel chair, board games, decorative fireplace with candles, and flat panel smart tv with Roku.

Master bedroom has a queen bed while the second bedroom has 3 twin beds and a trundle. There is also a pack n play crib. All linens and towels (not for the beach please) are provided. Bathroom has a bathtub.

Outdoors there is a wrap around deck with a piped natural gas grill, dining table for 6, picnic table on the lawn with firepit (firewood provided) and chairs, and outdoor games to borrow (near cottage 8). There are two screened gazebos on the property with comfortable outdoor seating for all our guests to enjoy. There is also a swing set and sandbox towards the front of our property.

You will have the entire cottage 5 for yourself along with the deck and side yard with private fire pit. Outdoor games are shared and located near cottage 8. Please use and return them.

The space
The cottage is bright and cozy with a large screened in porch for dining and relaxing (you might not ever way to leave this space).

The Bunk House is a favorite for kids of all ages with its own bathroom and outdoor shower.

The main cottage is cozy and has a bedroom with queen bed, and a second bedroom with 2 double beds, plus a bathroom with tub/shower. There is no central air, but a window unit keeps the place cool on hot summer days!

The bunk house is the coolest and has 2 twin bunks (that's 4 beds y'all), a daybed with trundle and an attached full bath, which includes an amazing outdoor rain shower (you'll never want to shower inside again).

Fully stocked and we have you covered for a great stay with games, puzzles, books, yard games, beach toys, beach chairs and umbrella.

There is a nice, large yard for playing games with a bonfire pit and a beautiful wild flower garden that attracts butterflies for chasing.

Parking for up to 4 cars.

A large deck between the cottage and Bunkhouse has a gas bbq grill and several adirondack chairs.

These cottages are located in Southwestern Michigan, with lots of windows and wonderful lake views from every room! Only 90 miles from downtown Chicago, and approx. 3 hours from Detroit. 1 block to beach access at Hagar Shores Beach and the blue waters of Lake Michigan. Only 9 miles from Silver beach, and Lions Park beach, 9.4 miles from Van Buren State Park beach, and 17 miles from South Haven beach.

Sand Castles Cottages of Lake Michigan Beach is a 1 acre property with 9 cottages. This listing facilitates group rental for all 9 cottages. While our property is not available for events directly on it, we can provide housing for a group having their event off site. Up to 30 people sleep in our one and two bedroom cottages. Lake Michigan Beach access is one mile away and we are between St. Joseph & South Haven.

The space
Our one acre property with 9 vacation rental cottages is a great place to house your group. We are close to two public beaches and located between St. Joseph & South Haven, MI. These cottages were built between the 1930s-50s and is one of the last properties of this type along Lake Michigan in this area. We have tried to keep the old charm while adding modern amenities.

Our cottage property is not set up to host events on our property, but we are a great spot to house your friends and family who are attending events off site. (Example, we do not host a wedding or reception but your group could sleep at our property.)

We only allow the max guests we sleep (30) to be on our property at any given time.

The property contains 5 studio queen bed cottages, 1 one bedroom (two queens) cottage, and 3 two bedroom cottages. Each cottage has its own private bathroom and kitchen or kitchenette.

Sand Castles is located on m63, a lakefront road that is right between downtown St. Joseph and South Haven, MI. Within a mile of our property are two beach access points on Lake Michigan. If is a very convenient location to many points of interest in Southwest Michigan.

We are now requiring a three night minimum on summer weekends, June through September. We will consider two night rentals for weekdays and slower season weekends (like May, early June, and late Sept/Oct).

In the event of a power failure, we have the ability to set up a generator which will power the well (so all the cottages will still have water) and cottages 8&9 will have some power as well.
