Boutique-style holiday cottage, beautifully decorated with wood burner & hot tub
Cottage
Llanbedrog, Wales, United Kingdom

Hidden away in a peaceful backwater in the centre of Llanbedrog village lies Gwynant holiday cottage. Believed to be one of the oldest cottages in the village, this characterful property has been newly-renovated and styled by a local interior designer whilst also retaining many traditional touches. Featuring vintage pieces and original artwork, each room has been thoughtfully designed, with solid wood flooring throughout. The cosy lounge boasts a large inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, snug sofa & dining table, whilst the shaker-style kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need for your stay, including island unit with bar stools & wine fridge. The main bedroom is a simple but beautifully styled oasis of calm whilst the twin bedroom upstairs is guaranteed to charm our younger guests, with the addition of its own private sitting room. Outside, hidden away beyond the parking area, you’ll find an unexpectedly large private garden with sofas & wonderful wood fired hot tub to relax & enjoy. Whilst for your alfresco dining, there is a built in charcoal bbq & kitchen area, stocked with suitable outdoor picnic ware & camping stove.
Llanbedrog beach, a mile-long stretch of sandy coast lined with colourful beach huts, is around 15 minutes' walk from your front door and features a shop, beach bar and restaurant. Slightly further afield is the bustling seaside village of Abersoch, with its boutique stores, watersports centre and eateries.

PLEASE NOTE The garden is not to the rear of the property but behind the parking area at the front . It is however completely contained & private.

Guest Reviews:

- "Lovely cottage, well equipped and a short walk from the beach." - "Beautiful cottage, thoughtfully presented making it feel really homely. Good quality furnishings and appliances, books and games and very comfy beds and sofa. The hot tub was lovely and although the weather wasn’t amazing, we managed to make good use of it! Lovely touch with the welcome goodies too, thank you Sam! The only additions we’d suggest is oven gloves, hooks in the bathroom for towels and either a washer/dryer or a heated airer or extra towels as it was a struggle to get the towels dry as the we couldn’t hang them outside due to intermittent rain. Also a razor socket for electric toothbrush charging…minor things and didn’t spoil our stay at all. We’d recommend the pub at the bottom of the hill bar the Spar for a quick bite/pint, the Aqua bar a little further down by the beach is lovely, but closes at 6pm and for eating out, head into Abersoch and avoid Pwlheli as they are worlds apart…Abersoch much more dog friendly, more friendly in general and also much classier…you may spot a famous footballer or two as Abersoch is a magnet for them. Such a stunning area for coastal cliff top and beach walks, head a bit further towards Porthmadog and check out some waterfalls and the steam train. Oh…and book your restaurants way before you go as they get mega busy…we went off season and had to book ahead. Manana is great for takeaway and Creel fish shop is excellent, also check out The Potted Lobster as it’s lovely and dogs made to feel very welcome! A wonderful week!"

- "This three bed bungalow provides easy walking access to the beach, a cafe, a pub and an outstanding art gallery. The bungalow was spotless and we had everything we needed. Towels and linens were immaculate. The kitchen had everything we needed to be able to cook. It was a great holiday and we were very pleased." - "The only issues we had were that a few items were missing from the kitchen - corkscrew, scissors, can opener, good knives, casserole dishes. Also, most importantly, there was no information left for us in the property - wifi code, how to set up the TV, local street map, good pubs/restaurants, walks etc etc. Otherwise, clean and comfortable and great location."

- "Overall we enjoyed our stay, facilities are great, clean & tidy and a relaxing base. The surrounding shrubbery and bushes have grown somewhat since the photos were taken, there is now no external route to the rear side garden; which it could be argued makes it more private now. Wise warning is given stating the road is unsuitable for low vehicles as the final stretch of road is untarmaced and is quite rough in places which definitely makes it unsuitable for a low slung sports cars. The host is friendly and knowledgable of the local area"

- "From the moment we arrived we could tell that all was not as it seemed from the photos on the listing. The front door was covered in green algae and the render was in need of repair. Within the description it said the gardener may call but it didn't look like he had been for a long time. On entering the hall the carpet was stained and the house was cold. The photos showed a hamper on the kitchen island but alas - nothing. Not even an information folder. After turning on the electric heaters, we eventually worked out how to use the antiquated hot water system. The bathrooms and kitchen were thankfully clean. However, the general cleanliness of the bedrooms was poor with dirty skirting boards and damp and mould in places. There were many hazards especially for young children, a cracked shower tray and huge gaps in the laminate flooring. We made the best of our stay but will not be returning. Bitterly disappointed.fro a long time."

- "We had a lovely three weeks in Llanbedrog staying here with various combinations of friends. The house is dated but very comfortable and well equipped. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly. The house itself is very dog friendly but with the garden not enclosed your dog needs to be very well behaved or on a lead - especially in the morning and evenings when there are dozens of bunnies to chase!! The location is perfect, just 2 minutes from the beach."

Guest Reviews:

- "We were 16 for a family reunion staying with 4 more who had rented close by but spent the days with us . Ages 12-80. The house fitted our needs perfectly. Wonderful rooms all with bathrooms en-suite. And plenty of living rooms and a huge dining table. We self-catered for the week we were there and the kitchen had everything we needed to cater for 20. The owners were very helpful when we had issues with missing packages and items left behind. And let us take vegetables from the kitchen garden. I can’t recommend this property more highly for a large mixed age group."
