- "Tensing Pen is absolutely beautiful! The staff is amazing, the location is perfect and the resort itself is so magical. We felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. There were only 3 complaints we had: 1. the bugs!! we got bitten up so badly every night! dont forget your bug spray!! 2. the bugs!! there were bugs EVERYWHERE in our room. all over the furniture, the bed, the shower, the sink etc...its a small price to pay to stay at a rustic resort like this...just prepare yourself. 3. They allow people who are not staying at the hotel to hang out at the property. this was extremely frustrating because there are limited places where you can sit and sunbathe or hang out in the shade, and many 'visitors' overtook the prime areas and didnt leave until after sundown. other than that, i HIGHLY recommend this resort!"

The Jamaicans are inherently joyful, beautiful people. Sometimes they try a little too hard to separate you from your money. Mostly they are respectful as the tourists are to them. I would come back to white sands but likely not for a while as there's many places to see, unlike most poeple here that will be back next year and the year after that. Ive stayed at other Large All Inclusive resorts before and wanted something a lilttle more personal. Well Idle Awhile was everything I couldve asked for. Security is always present at the resort. Location was great , its right on the beach, my room was litterally steps away from the beach every morning, I was able to walk to other places on the island to eat local foods and it was very inexpensive. The staff was very friendly , and I met some great people during my stay at the resort. I just loved it. You have access to everything right there on the beach, jet ski, snorkling, glass bottom boat rides, Margaritaville its just a short walk away.. Next Time I come back to Negril this is definetly where I will be staying."

On here it shows the resort right on the edge of Seven Mile Beach when in fact it's about a mile away. Without transportation both ways you are hard pressed to walk to the beach. We rolled into the hotel around 11 pm after booking two nights before. Make sure your booking goes through and they are expecting you otherwise the gate will be closed. We had a room facing the street and the neighbors yard. The room matches the pictures on this site and was clean. After about an hour or so in the room the neighbor dogs (4) which was the next door residence started barking then howling. I walked outside a few times to shut them up which helped my girlfriend sleep...I'm glad I brought ear plugs. The next morning we rented the resort's moped and started riding around. I highly recommend getting a moped for your trip as they are pretty cheap ($30/day). We hit many different locations like Blue Lagoon, Seven Mile, Rick's, etc. Overall without the dogs barking and bar being pretty loud (get a room away from the street if you book here), it was a good place. The people working there are accommodating and friendly. Visit Rick's Bar for some cliff jumping. Visit Canoe Bar (1/2 mile away from the resort) for a good meal and happy hour."
