- "Tensing Pen is absolutely beautiful! The staff is amazing, the location is perfect and the resort itself is so magical. We felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. There were only 3 complaints we had: 1. the bugs!! we got bitten up so badly every night! dont forget your bug spray!! 2. the bugs!! there were bugs EVERYWHERE in our room. all over the furniture, the bed, the shower, the sink etc...its a small price to pay to stay at a rustic resort like this...just prepare yourself. 3. They allow people who are not staying at the hotel to hang out at the property. this was extremely frustrating because there are limited places where you can sit and sunbathe or hang out in the shade, and many 'visitors' overtook the prime areas and didnt leave until after sundown. other than that, i HIGHLY recommend this resort!"

Many people here have been coming every year for many years and I can see that appeal because it strikes a balance between affordability and access to the beautiful Negril beach. The Jamaicans are inherently joyful, beautiful people. Sometimes they try a little too hard to separate you from your money. Mostly they are respectful as the tourists are to them. I would come back to white sands but likely not for a while as there's many places to see, unlike most poeple here that will be back next year and the year after that. I would add that many families come here over several generations. For them a home away from home. "
