- "Tensing Pen is absolutely beautiful! The staff is amazing, the location is perfect and the resort itself is so magical. We felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. There were only 3 complaints we had: 1. the bugs!! we got bitten up so badly every night! dont forget your bug spray!! 2. the bugs!! there were bugs EVERYWHERE in our room. all over the furniture, the bed, the shower, the sink etc...its a small price to pay to stay at a rustic resort like this...just prepare yourself. 3. They allow people who are not staying at the hotel to hang out at the property. this was extremely frustrating because there are limited places where you can sit and sunbathe or hang out in the shade, and many 'visitors' overtook the prime areas and didnt leave until after sundown. other than that, i HIGHLY recommend this resort!"

Villa’s also conveniently close to shopping and dining, which made exploring Negril easy and enjoyable. Each room was cozy and comfortable, with its own bathroom, mosquito nets, and cooling—ideal for relaxing. The décor blended vintage charm with modern convenience, giving the house a unique, romantic feel. It had a calm, welcoming energy, and everyone in our group was able to unwind in their own way. The staff were friendly, attentive, and cooked amazing meals. They kept the property secure and were always helpful. That said, there were a couple of drawbacks. The street noise at night was loud enough to disturb our sleep on some nights. Also, there was an untrained puppy on the property that frequently entered the house. It would jump onto the dining table and eat food if left unattended, which was frustrating and unhygienic. Despite those issues, the villa itself is beautiful and full of character. With a few adjustments, it could be near perfect. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return. "

When they did move us, we asked to stay in that room because it was in the quieter side, ground level and we had enjoyed staying over there. They moved us to a room on the 2nd floor (I have a bad knee and with water and slippery steps felt uncomfortable going up and down) when I brought this to the attention of the front desk, they didn’t seem to care and said but you paid more for the upgrade. It didn’t feel like an ungrade, one large bed, closer to the other resort that was loud and lot more people, we were not comfortable on the beach due to no lounge chairs being available and very hot sun with very little shade. Would have preferred to be across the street with the large pool. The person out front selling jerk chicken took advantage of us by charging 50,000 Jamaican dollars for two pieces of chicken. Disgusting. It tasted rubbery and wasn’t good either. I know or do not believe he was part of the resort but I was very offended with the price. We agreed $10.00 then he showed me chicken, then said it’s $20 for 1/2. Chicken and then gave us two and said $50, actually reached into husbands wallet and took the money out???? "
