Our cottage is away from the hustle and bustle and sits on the coral edge of the glistening blue waters of Jamaica’s south coast. Our cottage is located in Little Bay which is a small and friendly fishing village, bordered by two sandy beach bays. The property, a lush tropical acre includes bananas, lemon, grapefruit, oranges, tangerine, star fruit, key lime trees and exotic flowers.

You will enjoy our hammocks in the sea view almond trees and there are loungers on the sea front for sunning and relaxing. Tansobak has a unique saltwater pool built into natural coral boulders providing a perfect private spot for a quick cooling dip. At the sea edge of the patio is an ocean ladder for access to swimming or snorkeling the reef. Watching the sea birds, fish rising and fishermen pulling lobster pots is always a great daily activity off of the edge.

The main floor 'Doctor-bird Suite' has one bedroom with double bed, one bathroom with hot water shower, wet bar with mini-fridge. This is our only room that has air-conditioning. This unique suite has a first floor veranda facing the sea. The suite features handcrafted cedar carved closets and cabinetry and hand made wicker chairs.

The upstairs has two bedrooms with an inside adjoining door as well as each room has its own outside door to the verandah. The smaller upstairs 'Sunset Room' has a double bed. The larger upstairs 'Sunrise Room' has a king bed. Both second floor rooms have private baths with hot showers, large screened windows, ceiling fans and wonderful sea views. The upstairs rooms are joined to the downstairs using an outside staircase.

We have a separate dining area with a full kitchen. This includes a stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, blender, toaster and fridge, all just a few steps from the cottage. This is a great space for a larger group to gather and enjoy eating together.

Looking for a vacation where you don't have to do the cooking? For just $40. per person, per day for breakfast and dinner you can hire "Annettes Kitchen". Annette's meals are all home made and prepared on site in a separate kitchen from yours. This will often include the catch of the day by local fisherman. Fresh caught tuna and lobster and other varieties alternate with jerk or stewed chicken. Meals are cooked with vegetables, potatoes, plantain or rice and beans which make the dining experience truly Jamaican and wonderful at Tansobak. Fresh fruit of the island such as orange, papaya, mango, banana or pineapple also make the juices or slices truly sweet treats for guests.

We have had the same staff working for us for the last 17 years. They do everything they can to make sure our guests find everything they need to make your vacation one to remember. Just ask if you need something.

Justine's Harvey Suite is a Self-serving suite with a mini-refrigerator and coffee maker in the suite. Guests are welcome to store groceries and cook in the central house kitchen, just 40 steps away.

You can also hire Laga to prepare dinner for US$20 + grocery supplies OR choose from several eateries and jerk shacks, all within a 3-20 minute walk.

Justine's Harvey Suite is dedicated to the love story of Mary and Essua (previous, long-time Horizon owners) and in memory of Justine Taylor, one of the current owner's mum. It was initially started for her to visit because she was a bit of a poo-poo and needed more lux accommodations. In addition to the unique furnishings, this suite also comes with a marble bathroom, a beautiful indoor shower, and an outdoor rinse-off shower.

With it comes a private seafront gazebo and beach for you alone to enjoy. Sea Ranch and Rasta Ranch Cottages (on the other side of The Yard) have their own private porches and small shared beach.

This is the only little private boutique resort we know of that offers the opportunity to spend day after day taking in the beauty of a coral reef filled with a variety of marine life. Some guests even swim out and back; that is how close it is (distance 1 mile).

Sea Ranch Cottage sits directly on the water, and Rasta Ranch is just behind Sea Ranch -- a small sandy beach steps from your door.

-The famous Peter Tosh is a son of Belmont. His monument is just down the road you can walk right over to it, the locals there will show you around -- you may find his CD's or t-shirt on sale as well

-You can hire Laga or Trevor to take you fishing for US$45/hr

-Kayak to the reef which is about 2.5 km out directly in front of Horizon, were you will see a lot of sea life

-A trip to Negril for some dinner and nightlife (you have to hire a driver)

-Walk to Mt Carey, straight up the hill across the road will take you past the playfield up to a beautiful view of the village and the sea. LAGA is happy to be your guide and introduce you to the locals; farmers riding their donkey or tending their gardens, children playing, etc (please give him a little for his time)

-Close by, the town of Savanna-la-Mar (20+ minutes away) for shopping can be arranged as well with hire driver

-Or you can just take in the sweetness of just doing nothing at all (one of my favorite tings to do on island)

The Stoney Gate Cottages Studio is a furnished and modernized second-floor apartment with a private entrance via stairs and an open-plan kitchen with a seating area and TV.

The studio features an air-conditioned bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Guests sleep in a comfortable queen-size bed and have a wardrobe and a mirror.

In addition to its private terrace, the apartment offers access to a spacious terrace on the annex. A gym is located opposite.

The space
Stoney Gate Cottages has a total of 5 units in a quiet side street off West End Road. There are three smaller buildings that form a harmonious community with three apartments and two studios. The garden has various plants and flowers and a striking stoney gate, which gives it its name.
You can park on the property. Our property is secured with cameras and a large gate.

Guest access
This studio is located in the orange building. Our guests have access to a terrace on the upper floor and a sun terrace on the adjacent building.

Garden House is a quintessential Jamaican cottage, featuring outdoor covered patio and indoor seating area joined by a double french door entrance. The Brimhole Estate consists of four houses, a swimming pool and sea access. Each house is situated in a private setting. Garden House features rich wood details and beautiful fabrics. This private getaway is truly a private oasis.

Kick back, relax and have a drink in this calm space surrounded by native flora on the porch or private garden so you can have a peace of mind in this stylish space.

The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator with a top freezer and lower fridge, stove, pots/pans and cooking & eating utensils, cups, plates and bowls.

Bedroom has a queen bed with closet and Air/Co for your comfort.

The Bathroom and shower are semi open, with commanding views of the gardens.

Towels, linens and other necessities are provided.

Things to Note:

Getting Around:
We recommend renting a car, or using a charter taxi - we can provide you with the contact for a trusted driver to help you around the town or island if needed. The house is located in a fairly remote part of Negril, as such we do recommend stocking up on basics such as: snacks, water, juice, fruits or other items of consumption or convenience. There is a bodega/convenience store nearby however they are limited in choice. Most places will accept debit/credit cards, however you should always carry some cash with you either $USD or preferably $JMD

Wifi:
Wifi is available - however, it should be noted that service can be intermittent. The property is located in a remote area, and as a result does not have consistent service - this is part of the charm of a developing country! We recommend using this connectivity downtime to explore the caves and the sea, or making an adventure down the road to an Ital restaurant or jerk hut.

Water:
This house is equipped with its own water tank in case of water shut off or water shortage - this may happen from time to time as the NWC works on the local water supply network.

Electricity:
Occasionally there are load shedding issues with JPS - the national electric company. While it is rare for power to go out, it does happen from time to time. The house is equipped with candles and lights to provide more romantic lighting, although you could use this opportunity to star gaze by the pool.

Guests have access to the whole property including a private sea access.

1. Guest checkin is 'in-person' - we will provide you with a small tour and introduce Jupiter and Dory the dogs on premises, please let them stay inside, they are for your protection.
2. When you arrive you'll receive the house key and gate keys. Lost keys & Damages will incur a fee. (see house rules).
3. Unauthorized persons are not allowed to enter without registration.

Yellow Bird is our most spacious cottage and the only one with a cool outdoor shower. Like all the cottages Yellow Bird is situated with a porch on the sea. Each of the cottages are outfitted with a fridge, kettle, fan and 3 piece bathroom.

We are a private restaurant, beach and we rent rustic cottages. You will also find a heritage great house on the property that has recently restored and for pure fun, let us introduce Calico Jack's, the only island bar in Negril. Once you arrive, we operate on cash only and we do not offer WIFI, it is part of our rustic charm.

We call this upstairs rental Soursop Cottage and it boasts a king size bed and twin size bed in the porch.

It’s like a birds nest up there in the trees and views back and out over the whole yaad.

We are close to Ricks. You can walk there in 30 minutes. It’s about a 15 minute drive to seven mile beach.

The same people who helped bring my vision to life are the ones who will be cleaning the yard, cooking and giving you a local experience.

Natural Mystic has four rentals on the property, Breadfruit, Logwood, Soursop and Pear Cottage. There is also a 3 bedroom house on the next lot called the Barn. It sleeps up to 8.

Soursop is decorated in indigo blues and crisp white linen. We have also added a screened porch with its own bar and twin sofa bed.

The cottages on property: Breadfruit sleeps 6 (two queen beds and two twins in the screened porch), Logwood, 2 (one queen bed), Soursop, 2 (one king bed), and Pear has one queen bed.

They all have kitchens except for Pear which has a mini fridge - you can request a coffee maker or kettle.

If you want privacy, the whole property is also for rent. Please message me for a quote.

Guest access
You will be given 1 or 2 sets of keys when you check in -one is for the front gate and one is for your cottage. We have parking within the gates. I will send you an email with Wifi passwords and the caretakers phone number on your travel day.

The yard is my pride, fruit trees and a veggie garden are the stars of the show. I use these veggies to cook Jamaican breakfasts and give away to my neighbours. You are welcome to harvest what you need.

The pool and area is shared. The Bar is open in high season or by request. It’s all yours when you rent the whole yaad.

Laundry is available only by housekeeper for a likkle tip. We are working on a new laundry for guests. UPDATE: new laundry is done!

Upon request, we can provide a television, drying rack for your clothes, iron and ironing board, snorkel and snorkeling equipment, beach umbrella and beach towels.

Please don't lose your keys or take them home with you. Like everything in Jamaica, electricity and getting keys cut is very expensive. We appreciate it.

Other things to note
I love being outside of the crazy of Negril; the distance to town and the quiet is so lovely. I want guests to be prepared for the 15 minute drive to 7 Mile beach. We are in the West End, on the cliff side of Negril.

There are cats and dogs at the property.

No children please.

Little Bay Beach in front of house. Ask Annette for things to do. Fresh fish, chicken, eggs and produce available from locals or Annette. Limes, Jamaican cherry, bananas, naseberry, ackee, and guava grown on property and can be picked.

Damion next door rents Kayaks. Donna’s Bar next to Damion’s is great place to get drinks or try Grammas Bar at the other end of Little Bay Beach. Close to the school is a convenience store and Tikis Restaurant.

Both bedrooms are primary rooms, with individual access to the patio. This home offers its own entrance to the Caribbean sea and diving platform directly in front of the house. This home is great for friends or traveling couples who need a little more privacy. This home has a parking space.

Seaview House is located at Brimhole Estate, in a secluded corner of the property. Brimhole is a private property featuring 4 guesthouses, each with their own parking spaces, gardens and patios. There is direct access to the Caribbean sea from 3 points on the property, Seaview house has a private entrance and diving platform with ladder to enter or exit the sea. The property also has a large swimming pool in the shape of a fish, surrounded by a deck with lounge chairs and a cabana for shade.

Neptune is located on High Cove property, nestled on a pristine swimming cove on the famous West End. There are 2 other cottages on the property that can be rented separately, or jointly with Neptune for groups of up to 14. It's a stone's throw away from the world-renowned Rick's Cafe, amazing African drummers on Saturday nights, restaurants/watering holes, and has incredible sunsets. 10mins drive to Negril's vibrant Seven Mile Beach. You can also unplug for a secluded or romantic getaway.

Guests can do the Antigen test here in Negril, with immediate results, and also get a certificate, which is what is needed at the moment to enter the US.
The test cost US $50 and we help guests to arrange it and get it done.
