Welcome to the cottage South! Enjoy all the space and amenities that this wonderful 600 sq ft, 1 bedroom with a king size bed, 1 bathroom Florida home has to offer. All bathrooms include fresh bath towels, beach towels and soap for your convenience. The living area is spacious, tastefully furnished and has cable television and WiFi. Arrive to plentiful off-street parking and be welcomed into a charming tropical garden.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COTTAGE

THE COTTAGE IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE DAYS/MAXIMUM OF SEVEN DAY STAYS. NO ONE UNDER 30.

LANDSCAPED/ GARDEN-LIKE OUTSIDE -- The Cottage is comparable to a five star hotel room in this area, at a fraction of the cost. Your elegant guest home-away-from-home has its own private entrance through a secret, landscaped garden walk. The door to your cottage has its own security code off a beautiful, private patio with two chaise lounges, glass-top table for outside dining, a hot tub and an orchid-filled outdoor shower. Access to the shared-with-your hosts (but no one else) sparkling new, salt-water heated swimming pool (clothing optional), gas grill, outside dining area all enclosed with a privacy fence and gorgeous, lush tropical landscaping. A double-doored gate separates the Cottage from the pool area. You may choose to leave it open or close it for complete privacy.

UPSCALE, COMFORTABLE INSIDE -- The comfortable living area comes complete with 42" flat screen TV plus free high-speed WIFI. Also, you'll find a comfortable, full-size sofa, a designer upholstered chair for reading, an antique trunk (for a coffee table), a huge chest of drawers (for your clothing), books and book shelves for your reading pleasure, oriental carpets and original artwork throughout.

Off the living room is a galley styled kitchen with mini-fridge, toaster, microwave oven, Keurig & regular coffee maker, sink, a cozy glass-topped breakfast table with two stools and a full washer/dryer. We provide FREE beverages including coffee and tea pods, soft drinks and bottled water. You also have full use of the outside grille by the pool for cooking.

The separate bedroom boasts a queen-size, sleigh bed with new, firm mattress, two night stands, plus a large armoire to hang your clothes and a charging station for your i-phone or Android. The entire cottage is done with taste, interesting antiques and tasteful furnishings and signed original artwork and posters. But it is not stuffy. It is comfortable, warm, cozy.

TONS OF AMENITIES -- It also comes with these amenities: Tommy Bahama beach chairs & umbrella, two bikes, beach mats, a welcome basket of goodies and libations, all linens & bath towels, beach towels, bath soaps & shampoo, plus all the kitchen fundamentals. THE NEIGHBORHOOD
We live in beautiful West Wilton Manors. It is a quiet, upscale residential neighborhood -- only a few blocks from all the action on the famous Wilton Drive and an easy 10 minute drive to the beaches and Las Olas (the main drag of Ft. Lauderdale). The streets often have very friendly people walking their dogs, jogging or biking. There are hundreds of things to do and see, gay and straight.

Mikel Park -- underwent a $1.6 million renovation -- anchors the neighborhood and you are free to use it during your stay. It is a few steps from our home. The brightly lit and beautifully landscaped park features estate fencing, outside workout stations, a running/walking path, restrooms, softball/kickball field and a pavilion for musical performances. The park is locked at dusk. There is also a police sub-station in the park and is kept lit all night.

We are located five miles from all the Ft. Lauderdale beaches, including Sebastian (the gay) Beach and dozens of Ft. Lauderdale city beaches, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Beaches(straight/family friendly), and less than five minutes from the bars/restaurants of Wilton Drive. And a short drive from the shops of Las Olas and Haulover Beach (the nude beach). 15 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. About thirty minutes South (depending on traffic) from South Beach/Miami. 45 minutes North to Palm Beach International Airport.

We are a two minute drive to Publix (a grocery store), Dunkin', 24-hour convenience store, liquor stores, Home Depot & Lowes, Walmart Drug Store and many other retail stores, restaurants & bars.

We will be happy to recommend bars, gyms, restaurants, site-seeing spots, shopping areas -- depending on your preferences. Let us know what you want to do ahead of time and we'll prepare a customized list of suggested places to go and try. GETTING AROUND
We strongly recommend you rent a car so you can easily visit the attractions on Wilton Drive (about seven blocks away), all the beaches, restaurants, upscale shopping on Las Olas, and the nearby bars. Depending on the season, Florida car rentals are typically not expensive, but be sure to check rates. You may also wish to try Toro.com. Parking is incredibly cheap. (We'll show you where & how to pay, depending on where you want to go.)

Given the nature of the city & its party-atmosphere, UBER and LYFT are very popular and easy-to-use here. Cabs are also available, but more expensive. If you plan on having a drink out, USE UBER or LYFT. Wilton Manors also now features CIRCUIT... a golf-cart service taking you between any two points in Wilton Manors for $2 pp. Do not drink heavily & drive here. We can also offer you two new bikes, if you prefer to get around that way.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- All the major airlines fly into Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL). We recommend SouthWest Air, They have less add-on “surprises” (like paying for luggage) & a very flexible "change" policy. Other good rates can be found with all the majors, plus Allegiant & JetBlue. We do NOT recommend Spirit. Although a little further away, you may also want to check airfares into Miami (MIA) or Palm Beach International (PBI). MIA is about thirty minutes away/ PBI is about 45 minutes away.

Note: Pre-send a package (with clothes, for example). We’ll hold the package for you until you arrive.

- You’ll find a Welcome Basket on your arrival, full of snacks, libations & tips on what to do & how to get around. Coffee/Tea pods, Soft drinks and water are provided free throughout your stay.

- ITS VERY PRIVATE -- The cottage is attached to our home, though there is NO direct, inside access from the main house to the cottage. Your privacy is assured: there are no direct visual lines between the two buildings & sound does not carry between the Cottage & the main house. There are NO security cameras focused on the patio behind the Cottage, the outdoor shower or hot tub, or inside The Cottage. There are security cameras around the perimeter of the Main House for security purposes.

- The pool is surrounded by a privacy fence. It's a clothing optional area. Since we only rent out this one space, you have these areas to yourself, shared only with your hosts. Guests use all amenities at their own risk.

- "My husband and I very much enjoyed our time at The Cottage away from the kids. The hosts have thought of everything!! Inside and out they had everything we needed and more. They were very accommodating and truly cared about us enjoying our stay. We loved the peaceful days at the pool, bike ride through the neighborhood, and LOVED the outdoor shower. It felt like we were showing in the jungle. They also had lights at night that lit up the pool area so nicely. We felt like we had plenty of privacy and the bed was very comfortable. There are a ton of restaurants to choose from and it was nice to have a mini fridge and microwave so we could just heat leftovers up the next day and save on lunch. We rented a car and I highly recommend, but using their Circuit city transport might be a good option too for dinner since you have to pay for parking. It ends up being about the same price since their house is so close. We are already looking at dates to come again and I would highly recommend."

The Mango Cottage
(Separate structure from our main house, "The Mango House".)

As you arrive at our well lit 3-car driveway (with the only video camera on the premises) you will open the gate to our winding, tropical garden walkway (evenings are lit by a vintage peace sign) with patches of sunshine beaming through the stately old mango trees. (We have 5 mango trees on the property.)

The cottage entry has a private patio area with an attractive modern divider (offering a mini-gas griddle for outside grilling upon request) with 2 lounge chairs and a table for 4, shaded under our mango colored umbrella. The scenery is "guarded" by our metal eagle with a 4' wing span (formerly the finial from the original Pompano Beach Bank) overlooking a lush, green back yard, lone mango tree and a 10' yellow Elder flowering bush (almost) always in bloom. At night, our 4' hanging star and a canopy of tiny lights will brighten your Florida evening.

Once you enter The Mango Cottage, you are immediately impressed with its vaulted ceilings, invigorating "whisper quiet" air conditioning, calming window views and fresh Floridian decor, featuring some of the artwork from watercolorist, photographer and property owner, John Coté.

The bedroom has an incredibly comfortable king size bed with (4 king pillows) soft linens, a seating area and large walk-in closet. John's most recent panoramic photograph "Silver King Sunset" has found its place above the king size bed! The unexpected tarpon jumping during the early evening colors gives quite a romantic tone! There is also a large wooden luggage bench suitable for 2 carry-ons. NOTE: Feel free to move luggage bench into walk-in closet, if you prefer.

Make sure you utilize the Bluetooth (HOMEWERKS (MangoCottage) for your music pleasure, accessed in the bathroom! Music icon must be selected in bathroom light pad. Your selections can easily be enjoyed throughout cottage.

In the living area, there is a modern "Florida orange" chair near some of John's watercolors and across from the roomy Bahamian-style futon (with a queen firm mattress, also with soft linens), which overlooks John's newest panoramic photograph - "6 Storms" from Flamingo, FL, at the cottage entry - Yes, John captured from his vantage point, actually 6 separate, darkened rainclouds storming all in a row against the wild open Flamingo waterway!

Part of any conversation, will be relaxing at the modern bar-height dining table for 4, along side of the lit bar with its wine glasses for 4. Perfect for entertaining, to watch a movie or concert in this, your cozy Mango Cottage!

The Mango Cottage includes WIFI, 2 tv's, a full kitchen with large and deep stainless steel sink with a mini 18" dishwasher and tropical fine dinnerware. The view from the kitchen sink window and bedroom window is the lush green, impressive mango tree + a blossoming tree with lovely fragrance. The large mango tree offers a hammock (upon request).
Note: Mango trees typically flower in January/February.

By the way, we offer our very own frozen ORGANIC Mango Pureé from our bountiful Mango crop so you can create your own tropical smoothie (blender provided). We would be happy to deliver our frozen mango packets to your freezer upon your request while still available.

In addition, The Mango Cottage offers 2 beach chairs (stored by gate hose station), a sand umbrella with shoulder strap for easy carrying and 2 black "turtle" beach towels rolled and placed inside the hot pink beach tote to use during your stay (stored on the hooks in the utility room). At the inside of the cottage gate and walkway, there is a hose for your personal use to wash off sand from feet, chairs, etc...

For our Canadian travelers, we have a cribbage board and cards (kept in the bedside drawer).

There is also a spacious laundry room inside The Mango Cottage with Samsung washer and dryer.
Two extra large, thicker towels (striped) that are ONLY for the outside lounge chairs are kept on top of dryer.

The Mango Cottage property is right on the quaint Kester Park, where a pavilion is available (for rent with the city or random availability) alongside the sand volley ball court, 2 manicured, newly constructed, state-of-the-art youth baseball fields and adjoining playground, in our "Pet Friendly" neighborhood where you will meet many who walk their dogs.

The Mango Cottage welcomes dogs! We have kennels (lg/small) available (upon request) but definitely required for non-housebroken furry friends. We also have a large fenced in backyard that will bring joy to your dog[s] as they romp around. However, we do require that your dogs be supervised at all times while outside.
Note: A 2 minute drive to Canine Corner Dog Park requires a Current Rabies "actual" certificate (not just a tag!), application and fee.

You can't miss where the locals congregate at the expansive Galuppi's Restaurant & bar, located right on the golf course and jogging trail! Showcasing its new outdoor stage with front seating lounge and water views (Can be reserved for dining & show). And then there is their outside (massive tv) and inside table cloth dining. Catering for weddings and special events available upon consultation.

WiFi, cable TV, free movies, books, etc. The space very clean, tidy, and well furnished. Kitchen is stocked with basics and a full range of cooking necessities at the beginning of your stay.

We are in a quiet, residential area, so we recommend having a rental car or Uber/Lyft to get around. We are in a safe neighborhood for walking, but we are not really walking distance from the local attractions. Convenient location near Hollywood Beach, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale are only a short drive away, plus local attractions. We're only 7 minutes from the beach in Hollywood, and half hour from south beach, minus the noise and crowds! Sawgrass and Aventura malls are a 20 minute ride away.

-We are a long term rental with a lease. You must contact us first, wait for our reply, and discuss your needs PRIOR to making a booking request. We only accept reservations of 30 days or longer, starting on the 1st of the month and ending on the 1st of the month. We could offer a slight flexibility on this with longer reservations. Due to the fact that our minimum stay is 30 days, for safety reasons, we accept only guests who have at least one prior trip through this website and at least 1 positive review. - Base quote promotion is for ONE person. Price will be higher for two guests.
- The outdoor areas of the property are shared spaces
- Check-in 3pm, check-out 10am.
- Visitors to our property are allowed only through prior, written permission by the landlord, on a case by case basis. There is 1 visitor spot, with a sign in sheet.
- Parking available for ONE vehicle only. Free, private, and off-street.
- We strongly recommend having a car/taxi/uber if you want to get around.
- Pool and garden are shared spaces.
- No pets, kids under 12, or smoking indoors permitted.
- Marijuana use is tolerated but it must be done completely inconspicuously. You cannot bring any marijuana smell into the building, on your clothes or otherwise. Drug paraphernalia such as bongs must be stored in airtight containers while indoors.
- We do not tolerate inebriation or altered behaviors of any kind on our property.
- We require that tenants keep the apartment in very clean and neat condition. We inspect our unit once every two weeks (with 24h notice), and if it is not kept in good condition (smell, spills, stains, dirty fridge/oven/counters etc), we will have to hire a maid. You would be responsible for the costs associated with the maid and cleaning the unit properly.
- Pool hours are 9am - DUSK, pool is not heated.
- We require humidity control at all times within the apartment.
- We have a small friendly dog (15# Yorkie/Terrier mix) and outdoor cat on the property.
- WiFi and Cable TV service are complimentary. We cannot guarantee 100% availability. The building has it's own optional separate wifi and cable hookup you can purchase through Comcast or ATT at your own expense if desired.

Our professional cleaners take there time and thoroughly clean each unit between guest. This including but not limited to washing all liens, disinfecting all hard services, door knobs, scrubbing appliances, kitchenware, dishes and bathrooms. As well as, changing filters and running commercial Ozone machines when necessary . For the security of our guests we do have security camera's on our parking lot and common walkway. Access to the unit is not given until the unit is clean.

When we first arrived, the beach was small with huge rocks, but plenty good for a dip. There was construction going on during our stay, though, so we couldn't use that break for a couple days. Not the property's fault, and if you come now, the beach is 100X bigger and sandier with no rocks. The waves were awesome for biggie/ body boarding. They do have beach toys and boards available in the villa as well. There are tons of shops and restaurants a mile down the road, perfect to walk or drive to. There is a pool that e didn't use, but it looked very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful, although the maintenence guy was a little rude when he came to fix the tv that wasn't working. The host was very responsive and had the guy sent over the next morning, dived the issue for cable tv, but we were unable to stream while there. Not the biggest of deals when you are in paradise! The ice machine on the fridge didn't work (needs filter) so you might need to buy some ice. Thanks for a wonderful stay and my family cannot wait to come back!"

The house has a fire stick which allows you to access all major TV subscriptions you have. The Wi-Fi will be available the moment you walk into the house. Just put in the password. Towels are underneath the sink in the bathroom. There’s an Extra blanket in the closet on the top. If more than 2 guest are staying spare sheets and pillows will be provided. There are two robes available to use. If they are taken home you will be charged additional for them. There are two different hammocks that you are able to put up located inside of the closet.(the green and yellow one fits the best) There’s an ironing board and a iron in the closet as well. Some cleaning products will be available either located in the closet or underneath the kitchen sink. A fire extinguisher is located under the sink in the kitchen.

There is a non-refundable animal fee for any animal accompanied by the guest for the total stay that is for the sanitation/maintenance of the property for the next guest.

The Cracker Shack Tiny House is an open plan Florida cottage with living, dining, and work spaces, a quality queen size ships bunk, a walk-in closet with washer and dryer, a full bath with whirlpool tub and shower combo, a full kitchen with dual stainless sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave convection oven, toaster oven and coffee maker, and quality cookware and dishware. There is a large deck facing the back yard with hammock and Holiday Park beyond. There is also a covered front porch. The property is fenced all around with tall hedges surrounding it.

Furnished with my grandparents North Carolina porch wicker, my mother’s Welsh Pine armoire, a narrow desk with an antique rolling chair from the S and O railroad office in Chicago, my step-brothers antique cedar chest found in the attic of a 1930’s house he bought in Delray, a queen size bed built into an alcove like a ships bunk with a back yard view and hidden storage underneath, and some painted pine pieces to fill in.

Outside there is vintage wrought iron furniture on the back deck; a round table with umbrella and four chairs, and a cast aluminum chair and footstool that came from the Hollywood Beach Resort Hotel from 1926, and two lounge chairs . You can hear tennis rackets whacking balls at the Jimmy Evert Tennis Center in Holiday Park, or a concert in the Park on Friday nights in Summer, not the lions roar Olive remembered remembered when it was home to the Clyde Beatty Lion Farm.

When you are in this house you feel like you are in the country in a different, gentler age, but it is in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Two rusted but serviceable beach cruisers are available for guest use. A Smart TV with Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime accounts and an antenna for broadcast tv, wi-fi, Panasonic sound system with Bluetooth and Amazon dot deliver music, news and entertainment. The cottage is detached but on shared property with a larger main house in the front. Exterior spaces are common areas. pets (dogs) live on the property but are never unsupervised and seldom make any noise.

The neighborhood
, Croissant Park is one of Fort Lauderdale’s Oldest and safest neighborhoods. We have several historic homes, some over a 100 years which can often look run down to some or charming to others. Majority of our community members are the elderly and families. It is perfectly safe to walk here.

The room has a queen sized bed as well as a 2 single sofa beds that are modular. It can be either put together to make another queen size bed or 2 single beds. Max capacity is 4 guests.The cottage has a large bathroom with a walk in shower. Toiletries & towels are provided for guests as well as a hair dryer.

A full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator & microwave are also available for guests to use. Coffee & tea is complimentary.

A dining space is also available to guests and a desk for work space.

One parking space is available for guests.

We have two bikes that are available for guests to use. Please ask if you'd like to use them so we can provide you with security codes to lock.

The front (entry) room is the perfect spot for working remotely, as the bright windows and beach breeze will keep you relaxed as you churn out those emails and stay productive while wearing your bathing suit. The large living room provides plenty of space for everyone to hang out, with a huge couch and TV that is ready to stream your favorite shows and movies.

The TV’s are Roku TV’s and you can log in to your favorite streaming platforms to pick up where you left off. We also provide Alexa’s in the Echo Show 8, that allows you to stream almost any song from Amazon Music. You can also use Alexa to find out more about the Island, or the local area. The Echo is also quite good at giving weather forecasts to plan your beach days.

The Island amenities include, a relaxing hot tub to unwind and recharge. A cozy
clubhouse where you can use laundry service, exercise equipment, enjoy board
games, an ice machine to keep your beverages fresh or fill the cooler for a day at the beach, and work stations for your convenience. Additionally, we have a
selection of beach items for your enjoyment, located by the beach Box on the west side as you exit the garden.

The garden is full of seasonal edible fruits, herbs and veggies growing for your consumption while at The Island. Feel free to harvest Avocados, Mangos, Papayas, Bananas, pineapples and other delicious natural treats during your stay. As you walk the property, keep an eye out for all types of herbs
that can be added to your dinner; freshly picked by you for a touch of culinary
magic! please only harvest what you will consume so that others can enjoy as well.

When you book the Casita at The Island you'll have exclusive and private access to the 2 bedroom 1 bathroom home. You will also have 24/7 access to the Club House located just outside the casita's kitchen back door where you'll find modern front loader washer and dryer, a brand new Norditrack treadmill, two work stations with printer, a commercial Ice maker to keep your drinks cool and fill up the cooler for a day at the beach, a sitting area with a table to play the many board games available in the Club House book shelves. Our Casita guests will also have full access to the outdoor garden and all amenities at The Island, the outdoor full bathroom, plus a second outdoor shower, relaxing hot tub, a launch area that looks like it came from a Bali retreat. Plenty of sitting areas, a grill and a fire pit.

The beach box on your way out from the garden is where you will find all the items needed for a relaxing day at the beach, umbrellas, beach chairs, toys, coolers and carts to make the two block walk a breeze.

The Blue Key Cottage is located in the heart of Oakland Park. Walking distance from the drive of Wilton Manors (15 minutes) .The cottage is equipped with everything you can think about and if something missing, we will get it for you! Full kitchen, dining area, living room, Florida room, 3 bedrooms , 3 bathrooms and a beautiful patio with your own private pool. The patio is equipped with dining table and chairs, lounge chairs, 1 BBQ and floats.

Right in the middle of the beach, Las Olas Blvd, Sawgrass Mills Mall, and Wilton Drive. Many restaurants nearby. Walk a few blocks to Milk Money, a trendy local coffee shop. Sunrise Blvd is two short blocks away for fast access to the beach, the airport, Wilton Manors, and Miami. A large grocery store (Publix) is just two blocks away.

Other things to note
-Asthma, allergies, respiratory problems or hyper-sensitive to smells? This is an old apartment. It was built with lots of wood, it is surrounded by flowers and bushes, and it has had many experiences. If you have these conditions, it probably won’t be the right choice for you.

-We only clean the grill every 90 days. For most guests it is enough to heat the grill up to sanitize it's but if you want a freshly cleaned grill, this is not the right choice for you. Generally speaking, if you heat it up to 400-500 degrees, it is completely sanitized. Then you brush it to get any remnants off of it. But it's really not possible to do more than that unless you just throw away the grill after every use and get a new one.

-This is an old house and the unit is on the ground floor. Bugs are a constant battle in Florida. You may encounter some during your stay. We exterminate using traps, bait, sprays, and fumigation. There is bug spray on the top shelf in the kitchen cabinet furthest from the sink. If you need us to come and exterminate, we can send someone Monday through Saturday (Sundays are more difficult).

-We clean ovens about every 90 days. For most guests heating the oven to 325F (160C) is enough to sterilize it after the previous guest.

-All of our TVs (in all units) are 4K Smart TVs (mostly Samsung). They have apps preinstalled for Netflix, HBO, etc, and you can sign on to your own streaming accounts. We do not, however, have cable. Local channels are very limited.

-We provide a Keurig coffee maker and four coffee pods to get you started on the first morning

-We no longer provide a drip (filter) coffee maker

-Beach gear: we provide beach chairs, beach towels, and a small cooler. You can rent umbrellas at some beaches. We do not provide snorkeling gear.
