- "We had never visited Ft. Myers Beach before. This accommodation was affordable and close to the beach. It is located just across the road from the beach. There are more modern, larger places to stay with a much higher price tag. We are giving this 5 stars because the hosts were hospitable and the place was simple and good value for the price. It’s really set up for 4 people. We were able to get away with 5 because our youngest is 8. We also brought our Yorkie, which the owner allowed. The host could not be nicer or more accommodating, and they really made us feel like family. It really did bring back childhood memories from a different location, when Nags Head, NC was not nearly as built up as it is today. As a child I stayed in simple/quaint cottages there, and this was nostalgic for me even though it’s in a different location. Thank you to the owner for making us feel welcome and comfortable."

House is 10 ft off the ground with relaxing tree top views from every window in the house. 10 acres protected land adjacent to property , and neighborhood boat and kayak launch one block from house. I have two kayaks and 2 bikes; guests are welcome to use. Lots of birds to watch, bring your binoculars. A leisurely walk to small cove beach, one block from house. Plenty of parking under the house. (No HOA restrictions). Outside fire pit for bonfires, Plenty of firewood.

A Beaches are plentiful within a 60 to 90 minute drive. Ft myers beach, Sanibel beach, North Captiva beach is my favorite there is a water taxi from Pine island to north Captiva. Wonderful outing.

If you're coming with your boat on a trailer you can drive straight in no problem but you cannot make a U turn... you have to back out all the way down the street. We ended up leaving our truck and trailer parked at the marina where we dropped in the boat behind the blue dog grill restaurant. No biggy at all!!!! It was only a 5 minute walk back to the house.Love love love this place!! It really was amazing."

This tiny home is perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat from every day life! Located in the quiet little fishing town of Bokeelia. Minutes from several boat ramps, restaurants, and the Bokeelia fishing pier. Take the local ferry out to the outside islands like Cayo Costa, Captiva, or Cabage Key or enjoy your time on the beautiful front porch overlooking your own private pond. Catch and release is always welcomed and don't be surprised if you see wild peacocks passing through!

The space
The Bokeelia cottage is a tiny home. Although tiny, it has every vital essential needed to make your getaway extremely comfortable.

Kitchen- located as soon as you walk in. This kitchen includes all your main appliances from a 4 burner stove, oven, microwave, sink and even a full size mini fridge. The kitchen is also stocked with all necessary cooking essentials from pots and pans, knives, to even a wine opener for that evening sunset.

Dining- Seeing as this is a tiny home and its located on your own private pond, the dinning area consists of our front porch. There you will find a picnic table set up for you to enjoy your meals overlooking the beautiful hview. If for some reason the weather is not cooperative, there is a coffee table located in the living area that has been designed for the top to extend closer to the couch making a great place for eating.

living area-is located as soon as you walk in, next to the kitchen. It consists of a very comfortable couch, coffee table that turns into a great eating area, a smart tv that you can connect your own devices to for those times of wanting to relax inside.

Front Porch- located in the front of the tiny house. This is a great area for hanging out with the whole family. The porch consists of a picnic table and a grill. Enjoy time BBQing, playing a game, fishing in the pond, and enjoying that gorgeous island sunset!

Bedroom- Sleeps 2. It is located on the main level. This bedroom has a brand NEW queen bed, a window overlooking that beautiful pond, and its own personal AC unit separate from the rest of the tiny home.

The loft- Sleeps 2. This area is located right above the bathroom and downstairs bedroom. There is comfortable queen and plenty of space for any extra luggage during your stay.

Parking on the side of the tiny home for two vehicles and plenty of space for your boat and trailer. There is also a hose located on the right side of the tiny home for cleaning your boat.

Welcome to the newly improved Matlacha Cottages, a serene and unique open water getaway, perfect for solo travelers, families and couples. This is the entire cottage consisting of two private studio spaces with an adjoining door. The master suite offers an oversized closet for longer stays, a brand new custom tiled shower, and a separate bathtub. In addition an efficiency kitchenette is provided in the master suite with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee bar, allowing guests in the master suite to have additional privacy from the main cottage. The second bedroom is next to the second bath in the front part of the cottage. Perfect for two couples or travelers requiring private separate spaces. We have completely brand new appliances in this cottage. No expense was spared to preserve this beautiful historic structures. This gorgeous brand new cottage kitchen boasts natural quartzite which matches the hues of our beautiful sunsets pouring into both the master bedroom suite and living area windows. Stay for a day or even a month! You're always welcome here!

Please note that you are staying at "The Matlacha Cottages", which also consists of Units 3&4 in our Green Cottage. You will share a backyard space with stunning wildlife and sunset views. We are on the open waters of the Matlacha Aquatic Preserve. The open water sunset views will dazzle you every evening! Centrally located, you can walk to everything in Matlacha, from its unique history and fishing charters to its art and local artisan shops, amazing seafood, restaurants, bars, and boutiques. Our businesses depend on our amazing guests. Please plan to walk around and explore the area. Our community has worked hard to recover from a devastating hurricane. Thank you for being part of its recovery.

The dining nook is perfect for working remotely with amazing water views, and the kitchen features beautiful Brazilian quartzite, mimicking our shoreline and sunsets. Every detail of this property reflects high-end craftsmanship, having been recently gutted and remodeled by a local craftsman artist.

We highly recommend bringing your own kayaks or renting from Gulf Coast Kayaks. While a small shallow boat might be able to dock at our cement pad, we have not tried it yet.

Guest access
Fishing, dolphin watching, and bird watching from our deck are highly recommended, but swimming is not advised. Consider taking a day trip to Costa Maya from Pine Island for the best beach in the US, or explore other amazing beach options via ferries and tours departing from Pine Island and Matlacha.
