The only reason I selected 4 stars for property condition and area around is because of the damage from the Hurricane that remains. It is truly not by fault of the Edison House but just to draw attention to the fact that there is still significant damage and it does affect your stay. We are glad we were able to visit a year post the hurricane and understand the damage and impact it has on a community. They are a strong community and are building back up. This unit has one king bed and is a newly renovated studio. It is 5 minutes from the beach, restaurants and bars. Park your car and walk everywhere or Uber in. The street itself is a quiet retreat. This is a lower unit located on Carolina Avenue, FMB.
Please know we have acid washed the pool and have all new pool equipment. Unfortunately Ian stained the pool. I am told the stain may fade over time with the chemicals. If not, then I have to resurface the pool which is not an option now. The pool and spa can be heated. The spa/lights shut down at 10p.m. for the night due to FMB's noise ordinance. Charcoal BBQ by the pool and one by your entrance.

It all has been updated and has appliances for cooking anything. We provide beach towels, cooler, beach chairs, beach wagon, linens, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo, body soap, hand sanitizer, It is the downstairs unit and the pool is shared with the upstairs unit.

My property manager, if available, does airport pickups and drop-offs to/from RSW and he will make a stop on the way in for groceries/liquor at the Super Walmart if needed. The cost is $40.

The beach is only steps away, and there’s a beautiful view from the lanai. You’re also very close to most of the places you would want to go on Sanibel, and almost all places are bikeable (except Ding Darling, Crow, and Bowman’s Beach during summer. Summer is quite hot.). The beach is gorgeous with great shelling. The only caveat is that the beach gets quite busy, and people stake out their spots early in the morning (between 7 and 8). The estate sits about a mile off dirt road. You will find many homes on Pine Island do not have paved roads, but it really is part of the island charm! Don't be surprised to see peacocks roaming throughout the yard and roads here! They stay their distance but fun and beautiful to watch!

If you have never visited Pine Island, you will love the “Old Florida Charm”. However, there are no beaches on Pine Island, but you can go 35 mins North or South to the closest public beaches or you can take the ferry to beautiful Cayo island with you can see from Pineland.

There are many waterfront locations and natural preserves and trails here on Pine Island and water access locations for boats.

There is a closet with shoe storage and hanging space (a few hangers included), as well as a cube shelf style dresser (no drawers, but spaces to store your items/folded clothes).
