- "A group of 4 of us met up at South Seas Resort for a much needed girls vacation. It's about an hour drive from RSF airport. The unit was great, beautiful view from the screened in porch. Beach access was close. We did drive to the pool because it was a couple miles away but well worth it, view was gorgeous, pools were warm. Hot tub was not available one day which was disappointing. Doc Fords food and drinks were delicious. We didn't spend a lot of time at the beach but having chairs, umbrella and towel service out there was really handy. Loved our stay! We'll be back with our families."

- "The room was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We got daily text messages asking us if we needed anything. The facility was well kept, the beaches were clean and the several pools to choose from. We will most definitely return. " - "After growing up in the area and staying at south seas before we were excited to come again. Knowing the hurricane had hit and causes some damage we were still excited. However, after seeing the listing and photos and amenities of the property we assumed it was repaired and most things were as advertised. We arrived at south seas and there is no “front desk” as mentioned during check in. The front desk building is demolished. You check in with front gate keeper. Who had no idea we were scheduled for a stay as we were not provided a unit number. After fumbling through that we were informed our unit was not clean. No big deal. However, after 2 hours our groceries began to spoil, and our children needed to use the restroom. We then entered the unit before they were done cleaning (because there was no other option). Soon later that evening a fire alarm inside the unit began chirping while the kids were sleeping. After that we tried to shower, only to find out the unit had no hot water. None of these little things are the end of the world to us but it seemed to compound. The ceiling fan in the master wobbled to the point it’s unusable. The south seas property will be beautiful again one day but there is just too much hurricane damage and MOST amenities are still not available. They are doing their best and we feel for them. But you must make it clear to people wanting to stay or visit that 90% of the property is closed and under complete construction for repair. "

- "Full service resort that is remote enough to feel tropical without having to leave the country. Beautiful beach with all the amenities but without the fuss." - "I spent A LOT of money for my family of 5 to stay here for a week and it was way too expensive for what we got. The problems started when we first arrived. We arrived early and were told that the cleaning staff would start on our room and call us to let us know when it was ready. When we hadn't heard from them by 4:00 (the official check in time) we were told that 4:00 was the "start" of check in time but our unit would be ready in twenty minutes. An hour an 1/2 later we were finally allowed into our room. Then the next day we were locked out of our room. And again our kids who were hot and tired were forced to sit outside and wait for someone to let us in. Not to mention that the unit is nowhere near what we expected. It is dirty and lacking basic necessities. I have included pictures of all the kitchen "amenities". And that hot water heater is unsecured in the kitchen - a safety hazard for small children for sure. We found clumps of hair on the porch, dirty dishes and left over items from the previous renters scattered throughout. The bed doesn't fit the frame, the kitchen table legs are so loose the table feels like it is going to fall over at any minute. I can go on. Room Picks By Victoria refused to accept any responsibility for this and instead put all of the blame on South Seas. The problem is, when you book through this listing you are paying Room Picks, so South Seas doesn't have any incentive to help. you or remedy any of the problems. For such an expensive vacation we should be able to except a rental that is clean, well-stocked and available when we need it. This was sadly not the case. Yes, the beach is lovely, but you can find a better value with a different rental."

Then you need to stay at Baywatch Cabana, an efficient apartment situated on a lush three-acre site along Roosevelt Channel on Captiva Island. That is not only inexpensive but clean and comfortable. The individual but fully-furnished Cabana features a queen-sized bed, sofa, full bathroom, kitchenette (microwave and full-size refrigerator), and washer and dryer. The lanai has an eating area along with a gas grill, while French doors open onto a small sun deck facing north.

Outdoor games are also available to use on the abundant green lawns or relax around the fire pit in the landscaped area. The grounds offer two shared docks with electricity and water for fishing or boating. Take one of our kayaks to go into Buck Key, a historic small island directly across from the docks. - "Well worth the money" - "Nice secluded location. We liked the location for fishing, access to the beach is 1.3 miles down the road at Blind pass where parking is $5/hr or you can bike. Bring a hot plate if you want to cook other than the microwave. Blue Haven is located on North Captiva Island, Florida. No cars just a great place to relax and enjoy paradise!. The house is only the upstairs unit which is 2 bedrooms and 1 bath.. It has a nice fenced in pool for your enjoyment. The house also comes with a golf cart to get around the island. You can only get to the island by water taxi. The island is about 4 miles long of which about 1/2 of that is nature preserve and about 1/2 mile wide with plenty of beautiful beach. We do have 4 very good restaurants on the island and plenty to do including fishing, kayaking, shelling, boating, jet skis just to name a few. Come check out this small piece of paradise.

Please be aware that Sanibel and Captiva Island faced significant challenges due to Hurricane Ian in September 2022, which affected many businesses and properties. However, the area is gradually recovering, with most amenities expected to reopen by the end of 2024. Conveniently, there are a few restaurants and a Starbucks near the condo that are already operational.

Part of the charm of this island right now is why I fell in love with the island, many years ago. Since the Hurricane, the island and beaches have been a little slower than normal, and to me that is hugely appealing. The beaches are beautiful and back to normal.

Do note, Captiva is still in the process of rejuvenation, meaning some construction work and noise may be noticeable, and our resort is among the places being restored. The condo is accessible by stairs, as the elevator repair is ongoing – it's located on the first floor, involving just two small flights of stairs to reach.

North Captiva Island is a Unspoiled Remote Barrier island in Lee County in Southwest Florida, located just offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. It lies just north of Captiva Island, separated by a channel called Redfish Pass which was created in a 1921 hurricane. It lies just south of Cayo Costa Island, separated by Captiva Pass. North Captiva Island or Upper Captiva Island is comprised of full time residents and vacation renters. There are no cars allowed and transportation on island is by foot, bike, or golf cart. Golf Carts are available to book for your stay at Boats and Fun on North Captiva Island. Please call ASAP to reserve yours in advance! A golf cart is not included in this rental.

We offer gorgeous sugar sand beaches, an abundance of wildlife and tropical plants and landscape, world class shelling and fishing plus two thirds of the Island are State Preserve perfect for walking trails that lead directly to the Ocean.

There are Restaurants on Island and two Bars. A Well Stocked Convenience Store and a Boating Store. Boats and Fun offers Boat Rentals and Day Trip and Fishing Charter, Fishing Gear Rentals, Golf Cart Rentals, Fat Tire Bike Rentals, Fresh Seafood Delivery, Gifts, Bathing Suits, Beach Gear etc. There is not a Traditional Grocery Store on Island. We also have Private Chefs that can cook at your Vacation Rental, Take Away Meals that can be ordered, and Cooking Classed that can be held at your Vacation Home. We also have an Island Masseuse and Photography Services Available as well as many other options for Day Trips to Cayo Costa, Boca Grande, Cabbage Key etc.

LOGISTICS - Our Unique Island Paradise is only accessible by Boat or by Plane. There are a number of Ferries, Private Charters, or you can take your Own Boat. Please make sure to check your flight times before booking you island vacation as the ferries operate typically going out from 7AM to 5PM and please make sure to purchase travel insurance as personal reasons, weather, and travel can cause delays and cancellations. There are other ferries and private charters for hours outside of the above. If you are flying to Florida you will most likely fly into RSW Fort Myers, FL then Drive or Taxi to Safe Harbor Pineland Marina, Pine Island, FL. Pine Island Limo is a popular choice and will be included in your Welcome Package. If you drive to the Marina, they do offer paid parking in their lot at the Marina. Go into the Marina's Ship Store and pay for your parking there.

Arrange your ferry way ahead of time at Island Girl Charters website or by phone. Then Ferry over on Island Girl Charters approximately 30 minutes to arrive at the dock at Mainstay/Barnacles on North Captiva Island or Take Your Own Boat and Rent a Slip! Ask us if you need assistance! Check In to Ocean Waves is 4PM or thereafter and Check Out time is by 9AM. Guests typically book the 3PM ish ferry.

Please Note - The ferry and the private vehicle parking at the Marina are not included in your vacation stay they are paid for by the guests.

Upon your arrival on the Island Concierge will bring you and your luggage, groceries, etc. directly to Ocean Waves where your Ocean Front Vacation will begin!

Groceries can be brought on the Ferry, ordered ahead of time by a personal shopper that can meet you at the ferry, or order from a personal shopper and stocked into your refrigerator or both! Groceries can be ordered during your stay too with our concierge or with a shopper of your choice and then put on the ferry for your pick up at a dock. Your options will be detailed in your Ocean Waves Welcome Package sent to you after booking! Please note there are guest charges for the services of personal shoppers and for having your groceries stocked at your vacation home for your arrival.

Concierge will also make sure you have assistance at the end of your fantastic vacation to help you with check out.
