- "I would really like to give 10 stars if I can. Me, my wife and my 2 kids went on the trip for 10 days in various places in Florida and stayed for 3 nights here in this property. This is the best place we have stayed in the trip and really enjoyed the stay. A nice little place with 3 bedrooms and a restroom with a nice kitchen and living room. A warm welcome from the owners and explained the things quickly and the cottage is ours with lot of trees and private area. The house was very clean and had all the basic necessary things. All other places we stayed were in Downtown and busy area so this is very good and a quiet area like country side feeling, but quick to everything. It is a nice feel to have a coffee outside watching birds and some peacocks near by in the trees. Really it is a hidden cottage. Some minor change of plans for us and want to leave very early morning so informed the owner and they happily addressed and was there for any help if needed. Definitely will stay here again if we visit Miami or will visit to just stay here and enjoy the time."

Casita 305 is a restored classic Florida cottage with two sections. The front is the Casita and the back is Mima’s Efficiency. They are connected but separate. Both are private with their separate entrances.

The space
Casita 305 is a unique property in the heart of Miami Dade and the Florida Keys. A historic vintage Florida Pine paneled cozy cottage style home. At the time the only way in and out of the area was through a path called the "Homesteaders Trail". In 1904, Henry Flagler decided to extend the railroad from Miami to Key West. Farmers in the area were able to transport their fruits and vegetables to Miami and other parts of the state. Many of the workers who helped build the railroad stayed in the area and founded the City of Homestead in 1913.

Casita 305 sits between the old Flagler Road and the new US 1. With the growth of the city, the new major roads of Krome, US1, and the Florida Turnpike all connect from Campbell Drive. As one of the few remaining cottage houses with open spaces circling the property it feels like old Florida.

Sit at the corner of the living room in a comfort lounge chair and read Hemingway’s “Old Man and the Sea” and dream of Lions. Or sit on the Tommy Bahama sofa and watch the weather go by from the Atlantic side to the Gulf of Mexico from large corner windows like in the Caribbean Islands. What a view and experience happens when the afternoon storms go by or with an amazing blue winter sky. Watch the butterflies enjoying the nectar of bright red flowers from large corner windows. Or the mourning doves that come in the afternoon to feed on the seeds of the royal palms, next to the coral wall, to end the day before flying away to find a place to sleep for the night. Celebrate the view each morning with a rooster crowing at sunrise and the beautiful sunset as that of Key West. Open the large windows that cross ventilate the house and feel the old Florida breeze as they did here before….

Go on an adventure each morning to the Florida Keys, Florida Bay and Flamingo, the Redland, Everglades, Marco Island and Naples, or Miami and its Beaches. Coming back again to enjoy a quiet evening at Casita 305.

Or just stay in and refresh from all the traveling. Sit and unwind watch a movie, while the catch of the day is being prepared.

Guest access
The house can be accessed from the front door using a smart locking system. There is a driveway for one car at the front of the house. Parking is available in the back. You can also park on the side of the house on the curb.

There is a back door which can be opened, when not locked, into a hallway with shared access to the back of the house. There is a mother-in-law’s area that connects to the back hallway, which is presently being renovated and is separate from the main house.

Homestead Bayfront Park is only 9 miles away. And Key Largo is just a 30 minute drive.

Other things to note
Have all the comfort and get away to a vintage cottage that has been renovated with a new bathroom and kitchen appliances. Go out to see Miami and the Florida Keys like a native without spending out your budget.
