Our private transportation was arranged by the resort (for fee) to comfortably transport us from Montego Bay to Negril. We were greeted with refreshing rum punches and lemonade. Check-in was smooth, prompt and professional. We were escorted to our suites to find 5 star accommodations. The Somerville matches any brand name 5 star resort in the quality of the rooms, property and exceptional hospitality. Each room had a beach theme, was meticulously clean and offered a refreshing environment for relaxation. Each suite had sitting area and table, as well as a modern bathroom. Outside there is a private sitting area for each suite. I enjoyed the quiet sounds of nature each morning. It was clear that we had found a hidden jewel in Negril's West End. The Sommerville is within 10 minutes or less walking distance to Negril's famous Rick's Cafe. We went twice to enjoy the music, entertainment and perfect sunsets. The resort rate included a full breakfast each morning, including eggs, bacon/sausage, pancakes or the traditional Jamaican ackee and saltfish. We went to the Negril 7 Mile Beach daily (10 min away) at Margueritaville and returned to our resort retreat, stopping daily at the bakery for fresh patties. We found dinner options within walking distance, Ivan’s Restaurant for cliffside dining. Without hesitation, the Somerville is a rare find! "

When the weather cooperates, we also have Callaloo. Everything is organically grown. An optional Meal Plan is available for $35 or $45 per per meal/$15 per meal for kids 8-10 years old. When you have the desire to get out and about, we can arrange a taxi for you. We are close to many restaurants and also the famous Ricks Cafe. The Seven Mile Beach and its reggae bars and restaurants are only minutes away.

We provide information for bike rental vendors in town - many of our guests enjoy exploring on their own. We are a short bike ride from just about any place in Negril. We have a masseuse on call for added relaxation while on property. Our yoga house, the Cottonwood Pavilion, is equipped with mats and blocks and can be used free of charge. Surrounded by a Jamaican residential area, our cozy Johnmaica Apartment is located. True to the motto: Experience Jamaica pure. A little quieter yet central. Between the 7-mile beach and the cliffs of Negril. The center can be reached in 5-6 minutes by car. The one-room studio offers its own entrance, air conditioning and fan, a very well equipped kitchen, shower room with window and a balcony overlooking the garden. Our Johnmaica tours are also available on request.

The space
Our one-bedroom apartment measures 37 sqm and has a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The studio is comfortably furnished and offers everything you need during an unforgettable stay on the Caribbean island. One double bed 1.60 x 2.00 m. A fully equipped kitchen with large fridge, blender, toaster and Co. Shower room with window. Wardrobe with plenty of storage space even for the suitcases. Air conditioning and optional ceiling fan. A beautifully landscaped garden for shared use of the outdoor shower. For relaxing in the hammock or for breakfast surrounded by palm trees, avocado and mango trees. On request, you can also cut an organic aloe vera leaf for grooming or drinking.

For our little guests: on request, we offer a high chair with strap and a cute paddling pool in diameter 1.20m.

And most importantly, we have a water system from Germany. We have fresh, hexagonal and basic water to drink. You don't have to tap from the line or buy plastic bottles in the apartment. Absolute plus and unique throughout the island.

With the separate entrance, you are completely self-sufficient and if you have any wishes or would like to use tips & tricks of the island, we will be happy to help. No matter what it is: restaurant recommendation, exchange money, go shopping, book tours or how I treat any mosquito bites. Just reach out.

At your disposal is the apartment with adjoining balcony as well as the garden for sunbathing, breakfast or yoga. Just to your liking.

Other things to note
Our location is right between the 7 mile beach and the cliffs. Slightly elevated on the Westland Mountain Road. Arrival with luggage is best possible by a local taxi or with us. Once you are checked in and more mobile, you can also just walk the way to the main road. Distance about 800 m. It is 5-6 minutes to the center. At the beginning of the 7-mile-beach x-minute. To the beginning of the cliffs 8 minutes and to Rick's Cafe 12 minutes.

If you are traveling by car or scooter, we offer safe places on our property for this.

We are happy to help with shopping and trips to the beach. Of course, we can also organize an airport transfer for an additional flat rate.

With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, this is the ideal place for the whole family or smaller groups. A bright and modern living area off of which the two bedrooms lead off. Everything can be cooked or prepared in the open kitchen.

Stoney Gate Cottages has a total of 5 accommodations in a quiet side street. Parking is possible on the property.

We’re located about a 5 minute walk from Rick's Cafe. With lots of restaurants nearby, you'll be spoiled for choice. You'll also find live bands playing Jamaican music nearby

Saltwater Pool -
This is a shared space for all guests at Coral Cottage Jamaica. Feel free to move the chairs around the space and make yourself comfortable.

Smoking -
There is no smoking in the room. However, you can smoke on the Love Shack's patio, at the bar, and in the outdoor spaces. Please be respectful of other guests and we ask that our guests use ashtrays.

Water -
Do not drink from the tap, and some water is provided in the kitchen area. We encourage guests to buy a package of bottled water for their stay.

Tipping -
Our staff works hard to keep the property clean and provide you with an amazing experience. Please consider leaving a tip with the staff before you head back home!

Tingalaya's Retreat sits on over 4-acres of land. Our property is secluded yet still close enough to town; very safe and serene area. Lush foliage surround the cottages, kitchen, ocean-side area; hammocks are open for use any time; we have a cool and true Rastafarian property manager who has been w/ us for over 16 years - he is well known by the locals and is a great resource and conversationalist.

The Sunset Cottage is ocean side. One bedroom and one en-suite bathroom. No AC. Large ceiling fan and stand fan provided. Housekeeping available. Shared kitchen including ice machine and refrigerator; ocean-fed pool, free wi-fi, daily hot breakfast, gardens, yoga/exercise house, phone for local calls, washer & dryer. No curfew.

You have access to the villa's kitchen if you would like to cook during your stay. There is a large refrigerator for guests to use, as well as basic supplies. Our team has a refrigerator in the kitchen as well as dishware that are used when we cook for guests.

After cooking meals, please wash and dry your dishes and place them back in the cupboard.

Saltwater Pool -
This is a shared space for all guests at Coral Cottage Jamaica. Feel free to move the chairs around the space and make yourself comfortable.

Smoking -
There is no smoking in the room. However, you can smoke on the Love Shack's patio, at the bar, and in the outdoor spaces. Please be respectful of other guests and we ask that our guests use ashtrays.

Water -
Do not drink from the tap, and some water is provided in the kitchen area. We encourage guests to buy a package of bottled water for their stay.

Tipping -
Our staff works hard to keep the property clean and provide you with an amazing experience. Please consider leaving a tip with the staff before you head back home!

The space
Tingalaya's Retreat sits on over 4-acres of land. Our property is secluded yet still close enough to town; very safe and serene area. Lush foliage surround the cottages, kitchen, ocean-side area; hammocks are open for use any time; we have a cool and true Rastafarian property manager who has been w/ us for over 16 years - he is well known by the locals and is a great resource and conversationalist.

One bedroom and one en-suite bathroom with a couch that can be made into a bed (see photo). Seagrape is its own cottage close to the entrance and situated garden side; has its own wrap around veranda/patio. No AC. Large ceiling fan and stand fan provided. Housekeeping available. Shared kitchen including ice machine and refrigerator; ocean-fed pool, free wi-fi, daily hot breakfast, gardens, yoga/exercise house, phone for local calls, washer & dryer. No curfew.

As little or as much; interact whenever you want.

Quiet neighborhood. Great for walks. 5 minutes to the bakery/convenience store. Approximately 8 kilometers to downtown Negril; 10 kilometers to the Seven Mile Beach.

Local Taxi - we have access to regular vendors who can be called at any time.
Free Parking based on availability. Shops for bicycle or moped/scooter rentals in town.

We have a few dogs on property; they are tame/friendly and rarely bark. Dogs on property is typical in Negril.

During your stay
I give my guests space but am available when needed.Our property manager and staff are more than happy to talk up a storm; they treat everyone like family and cater to their requests, within reason of course. Guests are welcome to their privacy or be as social as they please.
