The rooms are a bit Spartan as they are basically student bedsits but all the essentials are there, and my room was made up each day which a lot of hotels don’t do list Covid! Dinner was bar meals - limited menu but good value and tasty, which is more than I can say for the supper I had at Bella Italian inn Cambridge which was distinctly indifferent and cost a lot more! Ok, not a luxury hotel but I don’t like paying for A lot of facilities I am not going to use. I had free parking in a safe and secure car park, free WiFi which worked well and a shower bathroom which suits me perfectly. Friendly staff, a good bar and I did not have to take out a mortgage to get a large glass of wine. The Uni run a lot of courses there as part of the continuing education offering and if I have time I would love to do a course there as the place has a nice atmosphere."

The apt complex is a bit like Fort Knox, but once you figure out the gate and door locks you’re good to go. Gate was a bit tricky at times to open from the inside, something to do with the release button not always unlocking the gate door. Helpful to have 2 (or more) people for egress. Apt was nicely appointed, could have been a bit cleaner in the corners, etc, but good enough. The bedroom is down some somewhat treacherous stairs, but thankfully we had no issues. Nice that there was a washer/dryer. Though when washer was running, pump could become overwhelmed and the shower wouldn’t drain effectively. We learned not to shower when the washer was running! The beauty of a subterranean bathroom…. Also a half-bath upstairs, though only one window opened in the whole place and just a crack, at that. We left the door open to mitigate the stuffiness. Otherwise, we were very happy at this location! Bit of a walk from the train station with our luggage, would’ve done better to grab a cab. Great communication with CityStay staff."

We thought it was due to the pipes overflowing when we used the washer. The sinks would overflow and it smelled horrid. We alerted the host who said someone would come check it out, however, they did not come for days. Even worse, when we used the bathroom, within a few minutes of using the shower, both my mother and I would experience awful asthma attacks/coughing fits. We both have asthma and severe mold allergies, so we were confused and concerned. It wasn’t until our last night there that we realized that there was BLACK MOLD in the apartment! My newborn niece who visited got a cold and my mother got BRONCHITIS and was in the hospital due to this. "

Easy access, i phoned in advance to arrange entry into the apartment, i was there a little early, thankfully so was the lady who gave me the keys and showed me around the apartment. - "The apartment was clean and as advertised. Great place for a stay while working at Cambridge. Food co-op at the end of the road, gym near by, short walk to train station, pubs, central Cambridge. Excellent place. It's on a dark narrow, dead-end street, so might not be great for some. " - "We had a one-bedroom flat on the 2nd floor. Steep staircase, no lift. The area is quiet; Tescos and the Co-op are at the end of the road. The flat is well supplied with utensils, etc for cooking. Operating the TV is easy, although I don't think the property has a TV licence. The main problem we had with this flat was the plumbing. The kitchen sink has an InSinkErator to breakdown food residue and wash it into the drain. There was nothing to alert people to this. When I started the washing machine there was a horrible smell of drains and water full of food partices (mostly chips) welled up into the sink. There is a switch beneath the sink that needs to be depressed so the insinkerator starts up. It looked as if no-one had used it so the drain was partially blocked. The shower did not work well. The maintenance man came round early the next morning and fixed the problems including using a powerful suction machine to empty the drain. There is no parking permitted on Cambridge Place, but there are plenty of parking spaces so if you come by car you can park very close to unload and load up. There is free overnight parking on Glisson Road which is nearby. The flat is a short walk from the railway station and the city centre, so is well situated. The bin men drive up Cambridge Place early in the morning so if you like sleeping late they are likely to wake you up."

It is a typical single room in Cambridge. It is less than 20 min walk to Cambridge train station, 3 min to Citi 3 bus stop, 25 min to Addenbrooke's' Hospital. Less than 10 minutes to Cambridge Leisure(a large leisure complex, including supermarkets, a multi screen cinema, gym, bowling, a variety of restaurants & Costa Coffee) and Hills Road (Citi 1, 7, 13 buses). It is not suitable for people who go out late regularly or are very active late at night. Please use earphones for any entertainment.

Cherry Hinton is a quiet suburb of Cambridge, our house is situated close to the local shops and the bus stop to the city centre is only a 5-minute walk from our house. The kitchen has everything you may need: gas cooker, oven, microwave, coffee maker, juicer, panini maker, toaster to mention a few. Your own bathroom (wetroom) has warm shower, basin, mirror and toilet in it. Your room will have a cabinet for clothes, hangers, shelves, drawers, towel rail and mirror.

House Rules

Please take your shoes off indoors. Please keep the house quiet after 11 pm and before 7 am.

Bins are emptied on a Wednesday morning, blue and green one week, black the next. Please put the right bins out on the pavement on Tuesday evening, otherwise they will not be emptied. Put recyclable plastic and paper in the blue bin. Put other rubbish in the black bin.

Keep communal areas tidy and don’t leave your things in communal areas.

Please provide for cleaning products, clean the toilet and bathroom after each use with the use of chemicals for hygiene purposes.

Please do not take showers longer than 5 min (government recommendation is 4 min:)). Not only long showers are damaging for environment, but also limits the amount of hot water for the next guest's showers.

Wash up, clean the worktop, sink and the cooker each time you cook or use the kitchen. Arrange cleaning rota in between cleaner’s visits. Small cleaner’s fee is shared between three or four tenants.

After taking a shower, open the bathroom window for ventilation. Please leave the bath clean and tidy, removing hair from the plughole, they very quickly clog the drain!

You are responsible for keeping your own room clean. Please use the vacuum cleaner as needed, it's in the storage room or downstairs.

When possible, dry washing outdoors on the line to protect the environment. Never dry wet things in your room. This will cause black mould.

In case of a spill on the carpet, remove the stain with a Carpet Stain Remover, under the kitchen sink. You can use other cleaning chemicals under the sink as needed.

Switch off lights in rooms you are not in. Lock windows and doors when leaving the house, and at night.

The house is close to science park, store,pub and easy access to city center and train station. The house is near bus stop. It is surounded by good neighborhood.
The bedroom is moderate size with wi fi access and a table incase you need to browse.

The room is spacious with good view of garden and green area. There is work-table and a ward robe. The room has a nice set of beddings which i change after a guest check out .

You will have Access to two shared toilets and shower rooms which means you can use the facilities without any delay. You have free access to kithen .The house is a minute walk to two bus stops going to City center. You need to enter citi 1 bus which passes city center, train station, cherryhinton and goes to fulbourn village.
There is a pub close to the house. There is also Tesco express and Burgens nearby.
You have access to car park and there is also two parks close to the house for
your relaxation.
