Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of year here—our favorite season! The hickory trees turn golden, fall wildflowers bloom, and warm days linger just long enough to keep the pool open. (Pool is currently closed for the season as of October 1st.) Local fall festivals pop up around the area, and the cooler temps make for perfect fishing weather on the lake.

Our cozy and well-appointed walkout basement apartment offers everything you need for a comfortable stay: a spacious king bedroom, large living room, oversized walk-in shower, and a generous kitchenette area for easy meals and snacks.

Step outside and discover what truly makes our place special:
600 sq. ft. of covered deck space with a dining area, Weber grill, lounge area, porch swing, bar, dart board, and a private above-ground pool with its own sun deck. At night, gather around the lit firepit under the stars.

Wander the garden paths, visit our quarter-acre pond, and meet our giant Blue Catfish (feeding only, no fishing allowed). The property is surrounded by lush forest with large boulder gardens at each end of the yard—our namesake. Lit walking paths let you enjoy the outdoors day or night.

For fishing enthusiasts, Windsor Crossing (Tebo Creek arm) is just 3 miles away—a quiet launch spot for crappie fishing and perfect for kayakers (ask us about directions to the old quarry site for a great kayak/swimming experience)—while Long Shoal Marina is 8 miles in the other direction, with boat slips available. A fish cleaning station is provided on-site, and we’ll happily compost the waste in our garden.

Nearby favorites include boat rentals at Hickory Hollow Resort (2 miles), plus local spots like Dollar General, Running Wild BBQ food truck, Frank’s Fish Shack, and Donna’s Diner—famous for the best tenderloin around. NOTE: restaurants nearby are usually closed earlier in the week so be sure to check first for hours of operation.

Our home sits on the north side of 7 Hwy between the Tebo Arm and Grand River Arm of Truman Lake. Less than ten minutes from Long Shoal Marina, Bucksaw and Windsor boat ramp. This home features a master bedroom (king size bed) with Garden Tub in the master bath, Second bedroom has queen size bed, Third bedroom had two twin beds . Hardwood and tile floors throughout. Enjoy the peaceful and beauty the outdoor nature has to offer. Walking Trail down to lake. Gas grill, with propane provided . Please note we do have Wifi. In this area AT&T & Sprint has good service. We also have an RV site available for a small fee per night.

Cabin that is lost in the woods and just up the hill from great fishing on Truman Lake. Get away to a location that exudes peace and quiet. This cabin has been in our family for many years and is my recharge location to go to every April and November. Short 1/8 mile walk down the hill to the cove or a very short drive across the highway to Higgins Landing boat launch. 15 minutes drive to Iconium, or 30 minutes to Clinton or Warsaw. We only allow pets on a pre-approved basis and no hunting or shooting at the property, but be on the lookout in the creek gravels in the cove for arrowheads. This area was a main Indian trailhead and several arrowheads have been found in the immediate area around the cove. If you need to make cell phone calls, simply walk/drive back up to the highway (100 yards) or the little corner store at Z and ZZ Hwy (3 miles).

"The Broken Spoke" nightly rental sits on just over a quiet acre of land only steps from the Katy Trail and minutes from local restaurants and shopping. We can accommodate up to six in the house, we have camping space available for larger groups upon request, as well as extended stay rates. 1-2 people $100, and up to six $125. On the main floor there is plenty of room for everyone at the large farmhouse table or in the sunroom. Cook up a delicious meal in the rustic kitchen while visiting with family or friends with the open concept space. You can also find one bedroom and the full bath with a walk-in tiled shower and double vanities on the main floor. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a large family room with a sectional that includes reclining seats while you enjoy your favorite movie or tv show. There is a shower in the garage and an outhouse with a working toilet that is convenient for hunters. There is lake access in the neighborhood 1 mile away via old corp of engineers road/boat ramp (road is a little rough). From The Great Escape you are only 7.5 miles to Long Shoal Marina, 9.5 miles to Bucksaw Marina, 12 miles to Truman State Park Marina, and 15 miles to Warsaw.

The Great Escape is truly off the grid and cannot be found on any maps. It is located 2 miles south of Hwy 7 half way between Clinton and Warsaw.

House Rules:
- $500 Refundable Damage Deposit required at booking. Will be refunded within 14 days of checkout unless damage is found or excessive cleaning is needed.
- No smoking/vaping allowed indoors (including garage or sunroom). Please only smoke outside. Damage deposit and/or additional cleaning fees will be charged for smoking indoors.
- No parking, driving or riding on grass in yard. There is plenty of parking available on gravel drive and trails for riding ATV's.
- Fish cleaning station/sink is there for your use, but please clean up when done. Please do not leave fish remains in the yard or throw them into the woods. Large Ziplock bags can be used, and then put into the trash.
- Tampering with security cameras, locks, and/or Wi-Fi router will result in immediate cancellation without refund. Cameras are there for the protection of the property (3 exterior and 1 in garage, none inside).
- Firepit, patio, garage, and all 14 acres is there for you to enjoy. Please respect the property and pick up after yourselves; dispose of all trash properly and leave the place as you found it. Insect repellent is recommended, nature is alive and well.
- Be respectful of neighbors and property boundaries. House sits on NW corner of property and most of the 14 acres is to the East and Southeast. If more details are needed, feel free to ask.
- All ATV’s, boats, and trailers are owner’s property and not for use by guest. Sorry. Feel free to bring your own, there is plenty of parking space available. Garage space can be used for parking if available, but not guaranteed.
- $20 pet fee per stay for dogs
- All trash in green trash container outside must be bagged and tie, no loose trash.

Cedar Ridge is a beautiful three bedroom and two bath house on Truman Lake, and is the perfect place to enjoy the lake. The cabin is two minutes from a boat ramp and has a two car garage to keep your boating and fishing equipment secure. The cabin is sparkling clean and has a fully equipped kitchen, living room, master bedroom and an attached bathroom downstair. Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms and an additional bathroom. You'll love the porches with their beautiful views and the hiking trails we've blazed on the property. Because we believe in the value of enjoying family and friends, there is no wi-fi or tv in this cabin. But, there is excellent Verizon cell phone service.

- Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

Dubbed the Orchard house since being on Orchard street. This newly renovated stand alone home on a quiet dead end road is just what the doctor ordered.

Located just 2 miles to the start of the historic Katy Trail makes this a great spot. Also, we are only minutes away from Truman Lake which boasts some of the best crappie and spoonbill fishing around. A dedicated shed with lock is provided at the back of the home for bike storage.

The Rock Island Trail is 7 miles away and we can provide shuttle service if needed. Our amish bulk food store is located on the property for a unique shopping experience. EV charger is also available on the property. We do have security cameras in the driveway and parking lot that is monitoring 24 hours a day.

Summary:
Sleep many, or few at this home just 2 miles from Bucksaw Marina on Truman Reservoir. Designed to park boats and campers/RVs. Fully furnished house that sleeps 12. Amenities for infants and young kids (porta crib, toys, dinner ware). Backyard deck overlooks the 5 acre property. There is a 50amp RV plug out front and a water off the house for your RV and extra guests. There is 3 acres of yard and 2 acres of woods. Ask us about our stocked private lake and we can get you access. It’s a mile away.

The Neighborhood:
About a half mile south from the HWY 7 turn. You will go through a creek bed and dip in the road, and the then house will be up on the left if you are going south on HWY U. The blue address sign off the top of the mailbox will read "3862", but the mailbox will read "382".

- "This property has plenty of room for 6 adults at a reasonable price. The house was clean and comfortable to stay in. Also had plenty of room to park our boats and trailers outside the house in the large parking lot. Bucksaw Marina ramp was just a few minutes away! Would stay here again." - "We were very pleased with the location and the facilities. The dishwasher did leak a little from the door seal, but overall appliances worked well. Great to have 2 refrigerators. We will definitely book again if we do another family vacation to Bucksaw."

Enjoy a quiet stay in the country at our modern cabin that offers room for 6 to stay comfortably. This cabin has a bedroom with a king size bed, a loft area with a queen bed and a sofa bed in the living area. It also has a full kitchen, bathroom, A/C, heat, cable tv and WiFi (which can be intermittent at times). We are minutes away from UCM and Whiteman AF Base, only and hour from KC. The Rock Island trail is minutes away if you're looking for bicycling or walking trails. Our amish bulk food store is located on the same property for a unique shopping experience and EV chargers are also available. We do have security cameras in the driveway and parking lot that is monitoring 24 hours a day.

The Dutch Valley store on the property was a treasure trove of goodies especially if you like homemade jams, pies and such. Property is clean and quiet, perfect if you're looking to just getaway for a few days. We were in town for my graduation and having my family all in one place made it so much easier. Price was far less expensive than multiple hotel rooms and being able to spend evenings as a family with a home cooked meal instead of in a crowded restaurant was perfect. There was a grill available for our cabin to use as well. All around fantastic 10/10 will stay again!"
