Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of year here—our favorite season! The hickory trees turn golden, fall wildflowers bloom, and warm days linger just long enough to keep the pool open. (Pool is currently closed for the season as of October 1st.) Local fall festivals pop up around the area, and the cooler temps make for perfect fishing weather on the lake.

Our cozy and well-appointed walkout basement apartment offers everything you need for a comfortable stay: a spacious king bedroom, large living room, oversized walk-in shower, and a generous kitchenette area for easy meals and snacks.

Step outside and discover what truly makes our place special:
600 sq. ft. of covered deck space with a dining area, Weber grill, lounge area, porch swing, bar, dart board, and a private above-ground pool with its own sun deck. At night, gather around the lit firepit under the stars.

Wander the garden paths, visit our quarter-acre pond, and meet our giant Blue Catfish (feeding only, no fishing allowed). The property is surrounded by lush forest with large boulder gardens at each end of the yard—our namesake. Lit walking paths let you enjoy the outdoors day or night.

For fishing enthusiasts, Windsor Crossing (Tebo Creek arm) is just 3 miles away—a quiet launch spot for crappie fishing and perfect for kayakers (ask us about directions to the old quarry site for a great kayak/swimming experience)—while Long Shoal Marina is 8 miles in the other direction, with boat slips available. A fish cleaning station is provided on-site, and we’ll happily compost the waste in our garden.

Nearby favorites include boat rentals at Hickory Hollow Resort (2 miles), plus local spots like Dollar General, Running Wild BBQ food truck, Frank’s Fish Shack, and Donna’s Diner—famous for the best tenderloin around. NOTE: restaurants nearby are usually closed earlier in the week so be sure to check first for hours of operation.

Our home sits on the north side of 7 Hwy between the Tebo Arm and Grand River Arm of Truman Lake. Less than ten minutes from Long Shoal Marina, Bucksaw and Windsor boat ramp. This home features a master bedroom (king size bed) with Garden Tub in the master bath, Second bedroom has queen size bed, Third bedroom had two twin beds . Hardwood and tile floors throughout. Enjoy the peaceful and beauty the outdoor nature has to offer. Walking Trail down to lake. Gas grill, with propane provided . Please note we do have Wifi. In this area AT&T & Sprint has good service. We also have an RV site available for a small fee per night.

Cabin that is lost in the woods and just up the hill from great fishing on Truman Lake. Get away to a location that exudes peace and quiet. This cabin has been in our family for many years and is my recharge location to go to every April and November. Short 1/8 mile walk down the hill to the cove or a very short drive across the highway to Higgins Landing boat launch. 15 minutes drive to Iconium, or 30 minutes to Clinton or Warsaw. We only allow pets on a pre-approved basis and no hunting or shooting at the property, but be on the lookout in the creek gravels in the cove for arrowheads. This area was a main Indian trailhead and several arrowheads have been found in the immediate area around the cove. If you need to make cell phone calls, simply walk/drive back up to the highway (100 yards) or the little corner store at Z and ZZ Hwy (3 miles).

"The Broken Spoke" nightly rental sits on just over a quiet acre of land only steps from the Katy Trail and minutes from local restaurants and shopping. We can accommodate up to six in the house, we have camping space available for larger groups upon request, as well as extended stay rates. 1-2 people $100, and up to six $125. Whether you need a couple's getaway or have a family gathering, we can accommodate you as this home sleeps up to 8. On the main floor there is plenty of room for everyone at the large farmhouse table or in the sunroom. Cook up a delicious meal in the rustic kitchen while visiting with family or friends with the open concept space. You can also find one bedroom and the full bath with a walk-in tiled shower and double vanities on the main floor. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a large family room with a sectional that includes reclining seats while you enjoy your favorite movie or tv show. There is a shower in the garage and an outhouse with a working toilet that is convenient for hunters. There is lake access in the neighborhood 1 mile away via old corp of engineers road/boat ramp (road is a little rough). From The Great Escape you are only 7.5 miles to Long Shoal Marina, 9.5 miles to Bucksaw Marina, 12 miles to Truman State Park Marina, and 15 miles to Warsaw.

The Great Escape is truly off the grid and cannot be found on any maps. It is located 2 miles south of Hwy 7 half way between Clinton and Warsaw.

House Rules:
- $500 Refundable Damage Deposit required at booking. Will be refunded within 14 days of checkout unless damage is found or excessive cleaning is needed.
- No smoking/vaping allowed indoors (including garage or sunroom). Please only smoke outside. Damage deposit and/or additional cleaning fees will be charged for smoking indoors.
- No parking, driving or riding on grass in yard. There is plenty of parking available on gravel drive and trails for riding ATV's.
- Fish cleaning station/sink is there for your use, but please clean up when done. Please do not leave fish remains in the yard or throw them into the woods. Large Ziplock bags can be used, and then put into the trash.
- Tampering with security cameras, locks, and/or Wi-Fi router will result in immediate cancellation without refund. Cameras are there for the protection of the property (3 exterior and 1 in garage, none inside).
- Firepit, patio, garage, and all 14 acres is there for you to enjoy. Please respect the property and pick up after yourselves; dispose of all trash properly and leave the place as you found it. Insect repellent is recommended, nature is alive and well.
- Be respectful of neighbors and property boundaries. House sits on NW corner of property and most of the 14 acres is to the East and Southeast. If more details are needed, feel free to ask.
- All ATV’s, boats, and trailers are owner’s property and not for use by guest. Sorry. Feel free to bring your own, there is plenty of parking space available. Garage space can be used for parking if available, but not guaranteed.
- $20 pet fee per stay for dogs
- All trash in green trash container outside must be bagged and tie, no loose trash.

Cedar Ridge is a beautiful three bedroom and two bath house on Truman Lake, and is the perfect place to enjoy the lake. The cabin is two minutes from a boat ramp and has a two car garage to keep your boating and fishing equipment secure. The cabin is sparkling clean and has a fully equipped kitchen, living room, master bedroom and an attached bathroom downstair. Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms and an additional bathroom. You'll love the porches with their beautiful views and the hiking trails we've blazed on the property. Because we believe in the value of enjoying family and friends, there is no wi-fi or tv in this cabin. But, there is excellent Verizon cell phone service.

- Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

Located just 2 miles to the start of the historic Katy Trail makes this a great spot. Also, we are only minutes away from Truman Lake which boasts some of the best crappie and spoonbill fishing around. A dedicated shed with lock is provided at the back of the home for bike storage.

EV charger is also available on the property. We do have security cameras in the driveway and parking lot that is monitoring 24 hours a day.

The Neighborhood:
About a half mile south from the HWY 7 turn. You will go through a creek bed and dip in the road, and the then house will be up on the left if you are going south on HWY U. The blue address sign off the top of the mailbox will read "3862", but the mailbox will read "382".

Also had plenty of room to park our boats and trailers outside the house in the large parking lot. Bucksaw Marina ramp was just a few minutes away! Enjoy a quiet stay in the country at our modern cabin that offers room for 6 to stay comfortably. This cabin has a bedroom with a king size bed, a loft area with a queen bed and a sofa bed in the living area. It also has a full kitchen, bathroom, A/C, heat, cable tv and WiFi (which can be intermittent at times). We are minutes away from UCM and Whiteman AF Base, only and hour from KC. The Rock Island trail is minutes away if you're looking for bicycling or walking trails. Our amish bulk food store is located on the same property for a unique shopping experience and EV chargers are also available. We do have security cameras in the driveway and parking lot that is monitoring 24 hours a day.

Price was far less expensive than multiple hotel rooms and being able to spend evenings as a family with a home cooked meal instead of in a crowded restaurant was perfect. There was a grill available for our cabin to use as well. All around fantastic 10/10 will stay again!"

The loft area is 6 feet high so you'll have to stay low while using the area. We are minutes away from UCM and Whiteman AF Base (home of the B2 Stealth Bomber), and only an hour from Kansas City. The Rock Island Trail is 7 miles away and we can provide shuttle service if needed. Our amish bulk food store is located on the property for a unique shopping experience. EV charger is also available on the property. We do have security cameras in the driveway and parking lot that is monitoring 24 hours a day.

Our space is very simple, but functional. We have all the main necessities but provide a dedicated space for you to park a bicycle or small scooter in the laundry room. In addition there is a large amount of kitchen cabinet space along for all the cooking needs you might have. The couple of unique things that make up our space is that it is connected to a facility called Katy Rock Adventures that has 3 Escape Rooms, a 1500sqft Nerf Arena, Cornhole and Axe Throwing as well as a growing selection of board games and puzzles. Also, you can experience the clip clip of the Amish as they pass by or park their buggies at the back Hitch. So please enjoy our quaint little place and don't forget to have some fun too!

The Bunk House, located at The Famous Goat Ranch RV Park near Truman Lake is a comfortable little getaway just 2.2 miles from Bucksaw Marina. - "Quiet" - "Great location, close to Bucksaw" - "We chose a cabin so i could cook meals for our family of four over the holiday weekend. First night the gas stove went out at the end of cooking dinner. I reached out and they said the tank would be exchanged the next morning. The woman was there the next morning to exchange the tank. She ley me know that the owner (Tyler) is in Wyoming not local, she takes care of the cabin, and the vrbo messages go straight to her. They found the hose had a leak and would need to be replaced. She said she'd work on it that day and keep me updated. She said if i needed to cook i could walk across the street and use the community pavilion. I never heard back. The third day was the 4th of july. I reached out around lunch asking for the status on the gas hose and if i had to could i still use the pavilion. Never received a response from anyone, but we did see the woman driving around the rv park that evening and she did not stop. The cabin was spacious and cute. Definitely could have been dusted prior to our arrival. The lack of response and communication was definitely disappointing."

Welcome to use parking and ramp at the north side of this house. Ramp and steps are four feet wide, however, this entry has only a four feet square which makes electric wheelchair use a bit tight to maneuver. Walkers and cane users have easy access.

Jim's Place is a huge, two-story brick home, built in 1921, with hardwood floors, simple country furnishings, and five comfortable private suites. There are two suites on first floor, ADA accessible, and 3 short-term month-to-month rentable suites on the second floor.

Fully furnished Cabin has 3 bedrooms(master with king. 2 large bedrooms with queens. 2 single beds available as needed). 2 full baths, large family room with fireplace, large completely furnished kitchen(we supply fresh eggs as available free to our guests) and dining, laundry room, large partially covered deck with comfortable lounging area, bbq, outdoor dining and fire pit. We have WELL WATER, It may have a slight sulphur smell, sometimes none, sometimes more than others depending on weather. We are working on eliminating it completely. It is perfectly clean and safe. (We test). We provide reverse osmosis filtered water at kitchen sink and for ice maker. Separate bottled Water dispenser is provided for hot and cold water.

This is a working farm, as well as a private outdoor recreational area. There are chickens, and cattle in the back pasture.

Civil war relics have been found on the property, and we have, what looks to us, and have been told, is an American Indian mound! Bring your metal detector and feel free to hunt the land for treasure. Come in the winter and try our great trail system for cross country skiing. ..in the spring and summer, for ATVs and motorbikes!

If all this is not enough, take a short ride to the various antique shops, great nearby restaurants, historical Clinton, explore the Rock Island Spur of the Katy Trail, shop the Amish Markets, and visit Red Fox Winery.

1. After Jan 1, 2019, we have decided to accept pets on a case by case basis. Additional pet cleaning fee of $30/ea for entire length of stay will be charged.

"The Broken Spoke" nightly rental sits on just over a quiet acre of land only steps from the Katy Trail and minutes from local restaurants and shopping. Quiet serene location! Our personal cabin is located just 400 yards from Truman Lake. Short walk to the cove for wildlife viewing or Higgins' Landing boat launch is just across the highway, and has plenty of parking for vehicle/s, boat trailer, and great bank fishing. Clinton and Warsaw are a 30 min drive, and Iconium is a 12 min drive. Don't forget to look around in the lake feeder creeks, lot's of arrowheads in the area. We now have super fast WI-FI!

There are 4 boat launches in the area. A rough one right at the end of the driveway, one right across the highway, Higgins Landing, follow the road to the end, Fox Run, 2.5 miles away, and one on the opposite side of the lake from Higgins Landing. Turn right out of drive, go across the bridge, first left, go to the T in the road and go left.

You have access to everything except the small storage room where I keep my clothing.

Grey gate with a 12697 Higgins Sign on the post. SMOKING is only allowed outside and butts must be disposed of properly. If they are found outside, part of the deposit will be kept for picking them up. Also no shooting of firearms or hunting on the property. Top bunks on bunk beds are for use at occupants responsibility and we cannot assume any risk for using them.

The space
Cedar Ridge is a beautiful three bedroom and two bath house on Truman Lake, and is the perfect place to enjoy the lake.  The cabin is two minutes from a boat ramp and has a two car garage to keep your boating and fishing equipment secure.  The cabin is sparkling clean and has a fully equipped kitchen, living room, master bedroom and an attached bathroom downstair.  Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms and an additional bathroom.  You'll love the porches with their beautiful views and the hiking trails we've blazed on the property.  Because we believe in the value of enjoying family and friends, there is no wi-fi or tv in this cabin.  But, there is excellent Verizon cell phone service.
