Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries began the annual drawdown to control the salvinia weed on July 29. There is always water in view of the house and we drag the kayaks to the water's edge to use them. It is also fun to walk in the lake bed once it is dry.

The adjoining property to Shades of Blue is our popular Red Camp! Please inquire as to using both houses for special events or family reunions.

Built as a detached guesthouse, it was recently renovated for a college student to live in for a year.

She's moved out and it's now vacant.

The cottage is located in my back yard. I live on a 1.5 acre, wooded lot. Although it is in the backyard, there is plenty of space and privacy. You won't notice us and we won't notice you (unless you want us to).

We are primarily set up to comfortably host two guests, but we have a high quality, self inflating, queen size air mattress in the cottage. So we could sleep up to 4 people, although I wouldn’t recommend it for a long stay.
