The space
My attached apartment space is well lit and is on the lower level with a separate driveway and entryway. The home and apartment is at the end of a cul-de-sac and offers privacy. My home is only two miles from lake Hickory and a local boat access used for boating, fishing, and walking (exercise). My space is a 50 minute drive from Blowing Rock/Boone Area and about an hour from Asheville, Charlotte, and Winston Salem.

I am about an hour to hour and a half from the Biltmore Estate, the Bank of America (Carolina Panthers) Stadium, Apple picking, snow and water skiing, great hiking, the Blue Ridge Parkway(beautiful scenery during the fall when the leafs change color) and great shopping in Charlotte or the Outlets in Blowing Rock. I’m less than ten miles from the CRAWDADS stadium and Hickory Metro convention center.

Guest access
Guests have access to the walkout basement floor apartment. Private outdoor patio seating area. All guests have access to a bathroom, a living area with wood burning fire place, and a kitchen space.

- "John and Erin were easy to communicate with when necessary. The house was clean, updated and great for multiple entertainment areas. Like other reviews have stated, the walk down to the dock/lake was steep so take it slow. We ran into two issues, which we dealt with. The outside trash was full on arrival (Monday is trash day, but the trash had not been put to the curb). It wasn't a big deal, but we were there a week with 6 people so the trash did overflow. We didn't have many trash bags or paper towels to start with so we ran out mid stay. Thankfully, Walmart isn't far. What would've been cool was access to fishing accessories like poles and a sharp knife. Being on the lake we wanted to fish, but had to pick up everything. We did catch a catfish (which we ate for dinner) and 4 crappies right off the dock. We also rented a pontoon for the day at the nearby marina, so that was a lot of fun. Everyone in our group stated we would definitely stay again."

Minutes from a boat rental company that can cater all sizes of marine craft. A couple of kayaks will be provided for daytime adventure, the coves have calm waters for beginner adventurists. Swimming right off the dock is always an option as well.

Riverbend Park is within a 15 minute commute with beautiful walking trails that wind in and out of the trees through open fields and next to Lake Hickory. Within a 30 minute drive we have Rocky Face Park which has 6 miles of moderate to strenuous trails.

Winery's, Breweries, and Distilleries are popular attractions within a short distance.

Lake Hickory while picking up in popularity is still mostly natural landscape with beautiful views.

The garage will not be accessible.

Our home is nestled at the end of a cul de sac.
We have 2 exterior cameras that are only accessed if security concerns arise. They focus on the front door and back yard. The focal points do not touch screened areas or interior in order to maintain the privacy of our guests.

The airbnb platform will only allow us to list 1 pet fee, so the second pet fee for your second pet will have to be paid after the reservation is made.

Please keep in mind that ESA (Emotional Support Animals) are not classified as Service Animals in the US or by Airbnb Terms and conditions, therefore they should always be listed on the reservation and subject to the host's pet fees. If you are bringing an actual service animal, we do ask that you confirm that it's for a documented disability and that you disclose what task/service it has been trained to perform you (these questions are asked in accordance with Airbnb's terms and conditions as well).

The Property:
One bedroom with full bath inside. The bathroom can be closed off with a large curtain system; see photos.

For groups of 4, guests typically bring a cot or air mattress since the unit has just the one queen size bed. We can provide an air mattress for a small fee as well.

Desk with a chair for work, and a TV with Roku for leisure time. Small dining table for two. Garment rack for storing/folding/hanging your clothes.

Mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and a sink are available in the kitchenette area.

The path to the guest house is down a landscaped rock/paver path that is on a noticeable decline going down and inclined back up to your vehicle. 99% of our guests have had no issues, but in full transparency it is not convenient for people have physical limitations. If you have any concerns with an incline/decline and would like some pictures, feel free to send an inquiry.

The unit is cooled by a window AC unit which quickly cools down this small area. In the winter, there is a nicely equipped heater. For the sake of fire prevention, all air conditioner/heater manufactures recommend turning off the unit when you're not there, but we understand this is sometimes not possible in the more extreme seasons.


Guest access:
There are no keys to lose or to return! This self-check-in property provides secure, keyless entry with a Smart Lock. You can lock and unlock the door with a personal entry code issued to you for the duration of your stay.

Parking is in our driveway. You are more than welcome to park right up against the garage when unloading, but after unloading please park further up the driveway so vehicles aren't blocked in. Please line your tires up with the right edge of the driveway, and simply park anywhere between the jetskis and the road.

Guest access
You have exclusive access to the guest home/tiny home located by the pool along the wood line of our property. We do live in the main home, so you will see any of our 5 family members from time to time in the yard, at the pool, etc.

We receive regular visits for lawn maintenance and pest control, so these normal sounds of home ownership maintenance should be expected from time to time.

The gated pool area is off limits to all guests and pets. The area is locked and video monitored, and any unauthorized access to this area will result in immediate cancellation of your booking. This is for the safety for our guests.

Other things to note
For the safety of my family and our valuable guests, external security cameras are throughout the property, including the Airbnb guest house. Tampering with any camera will result in immediate cancellation of the booking along with being trespassed from the property without any additional warning.

Note to guests: We strive to keep our suite very clean, as the reviews will mention. After each stay in addition to the standard cleaning, we wipe down all "high touch" areas with anti-bacterial wipes, including light switches, remotes, door handles and all counter surfaces.

There is a tile and wood bar area with a full size refrigerator, microwave, counter-top oven, burners, coffee maker and glasses/dishes.

Master bedroom has a queen bed and a wardrobe. This bedroom also has a toddler bed. Comfy linens are provided. There is a fan and also noise machine in the master.

Living area offers a full-size futon with provided linens. If you are going to enjoy the futon as a bed, we recommend you watch the instructional video. Please also take care to pull the frame out from the wall prior to laying it flat. This video will be provided prior to check-in.

Private bath features oiled bronze fixtures, custom tile shower (no bath tub) and provided towels.

The office area contains a twin bed and a twin floor mattress available under the twin. There is a full desk area and chair.

Area has separate air/heat unit that can be adjusted by guests.

While we do have 2 dogs (husky mix and a little mutt), the guest area is fully fenced separate from the rest of the yard. The dogs are not able to access the guest fenced area. Please do not pet/pick-up the animals without permission.

You have access to the guest fenced in area as well as unfenced yard areas. There is plenty of space to play catch, kick a soccer ball or get some sun.

Self check-in time is anytime after 4pm. We can often arrange an early check-in so please contact us if you will arrive early and we'll do our best.

Parking is located in a gravel drive close to the private entrance. Entrance to the suite is within a fenced area. Please do not park past the gate as some cars have trouble in the gravel, especially if it's been raining.

If you are bringing a boat, jet skis, etc., we do have sufficient parking to park those off-street. Numerous parks, water craft launching areas, and hiking/rock climbing are close by. There are two public boat launches and several marinas within 5 miles.

My attached apartment space is well lit and has a lot of natural light. Because my home is at the end of a cul-de-sac the apartment is quiet and offers privacy. My home is only two miles from lake Hickory and a local boat access used for boating, fishing, and walking (exercise). My space is a 50 minute drive from Blowing Rock/Boone Area and about an hour from Asheville, Charlotte, and Winston Salem.

I am about an hour to hour and a half from the Biltmore Estate, the Bank of America (Carolina Panthers) Stadium, Apple picking, snow and water skiing, great hiking, the Blue Ridge Parkway(beautiful scenery during the fall when the leafs change color) and great shopping in Charlotte or the Outlets in Blowing Rock. I’m less than ten miles from the CRAWDADS stadium and Hickory Metro convention center.

Excellent Location. "Hideaway Cove" is a cozy 2-bedroom 2-bathroom 1900 sq ft. lake house rental is located on the best cove on Lake Hickory in the lovely Players Ridge public golf community. Completely remodeled kitchen. Take advantage of the private dock. Bring your own boat or rent one at the marina. The lake depth is about 5 feet at the dock. Lake Hickory is only 45 minutes from Blowing Rock and an hour from Charlotte and Asheville. Dog Friendly!

The upstairs has a large bedroom with king size bed, full bathroom and gourmet kitchen with great room. The downstairs has a bedroom with king size bed, a separate den, full bathroom and laundry room. Both living spaces have leather sofas. The downstairs den has a doggie door that leads to a fenced in back yard. We are dog friendly - but we do not allow guests to bring cats. The owners have an indoor cat that is inside the house when we stay there.

Guests have full access to the entire house, deck, and boat dock. If you are interested in renting a boat, we suggest Lakeside Marina because it is very close to the house. The address is 81 Marina Dr, Hickory, NC 28601

Other things to note
The home is located in the cove past the River’s Edge marina. You don’t have to worry about speed boats while swimming as most boater don’t pass through no wake zones. There are two restaurants on the lake that you can visit by boat (Copper Penny and Sand Bar Marina and Grill) and one restaurant located in the Players Ridge Golf Club that you can walk to from the home. Boat Rental is available at Lakeside Marina.

This beautiful lakefront home is like new on the inside and out. It is located right next to one of Lake Hickory’s biggest marinas. Very convenient for boat rentals and fishing needs. By bringing a pet, you agree to the terms of our very specific rules for pets including: no pets on furniture (including beds and sofas), unattended pets in the home must be crated, and many other strict requirements. If we find evidence of pets on furniture, you will be charged $100. If we find evidence of pets damaging the property, including using the bathroom in home, you will be charged $200. Pets brought without advance notice will be charged $250 plus the normal pet fee. Pets brought to home that do NOT allow pets can result in immediate eviction with forfeiture of remaining paid stay.

Video Security:
Home is equipped with Ring security system located on the entrance, garage, driveway, backyard and boat dock. There is also a noise monitoring system.

Note: This property has a septic system, so PLEASE do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Do not flush "flushable" wipes either, only toilet paper. Do not put food or fats down the drain on any sink.

Insects/wildlife:
Given the natural environment surrounding the home, encounters with wildlife/insects are possible.

Noise:
This is a waterfront home so noise from watercrafts cruising is expected.

Guest access
As a guest at Emerald Oasis, you will have access to the full home, gounds, and both docks.

The quiet cul-de-sac features a landscaped lawn and parking for 3 vehicles. Enjoy the large covered porch for morning coffee or evening wine. Inside: 2 Queen, 1 Futon, 2 Full, 4 Twin, and 1 Twin Trundle Bed. Kayaks provided for calm water adventures; boat rentals nearby. La Peninsule is cozy yet close to restaurants, bars, stores, and parks.

The space
Our home is nestled at the end of a cul de sac.
We have 2 exterior cameras that are only accessed if security concerns arise. They focus on the front door and back yard. The focal points do not touch screened areas or interior in order to maintain the privacy of our guests.

Bedroom 5 = full

Bedrooms 1 & 2 temps are controlled by mini-split unit and remote control in the bedroom. Please set to 78 in summer and 62 in winter when you leave.
