The setting is very tranquil and private, nestled in a 10 acre compound with a bamboo grove and majestic oak and hickory trees providing shade and privacy. Lots of wildlife around including deer, foxes, rabbits, squirrels, and herons. The location is close to everything (grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, hospital, movies, etc) but it feels like you are in another world. Try to catch a bass or bluegill in the two acre pond, hike thru the bamboo trail or use the kayak or canoe over by the gazebo. The setting has to be seen to be believed. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome.

The garage doors opening to a view of the lake really made this house extra special. I thought in the heat of the summer that it would either be too hot or too buggy. There were only a few very hot and humid days where I kept the doors shut, but the bugs were not a problem at all. The house is spacious and conducive to large gatherings. The beds were very comfortable. Note that only nimble people (i.e. kids) will be able to climb up to the loft beds! Two outbuildings from 1948 retain the old farm feel of this property originally owned by the late Woodrow and Frances Smith and their sons. High speed internet and streaming TV in the great room provide the opportunity to watch Netflix or any national network channel from comfortable sofas. Close to a Harris Teeter supermarket and many restaurants, the house is exceptionally quiet, even with the occasional soothing sounds of a passing train. During warm months, the owners have a self-service flower stand out front which sometimes features fresh vegetables. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Comfortable beds and luxuriously soft sheets make this a home away from home, not to be missed! (Note that one bedroom must be walked through to enter the master bedroom/bath, unless you use the exterior door on deck to exit the master.) No cats, no smoking inside house.

I would just recommend fixing the exhaust fan and light over the stove because the whole house smelled like bacon after our breakfast! It would also be nice to be able to use the gas fireplace. The house is convenient to lots of stores, restaurants, parks, etc. Train goes by every few hours even overnight but it's short and not too loud and didn't bother us, We definitely recommend this house!"

There was a bike/walking trail which was nice for the cooler evenings. There are only two Tv's in the home (living and master room) (seems to be normal among the rentals we have stayed in), but we came prepared for that. The rooms are nice sizes, master very spacious. We had a couple minor hiccups while in the home, but owners were very responsive and easy to work with. The home is really nice. Overall great stay, would stay again in the future."

You'll have a private entrance to our In-law suite connected to the main home and parking on the driveway. Our home can best be described as bohemian farmhouse with eclectic decor & personalized hand-crafted furniture peppered in.
We want our guests to feel comfortable, and not as if they are invading someone else's space.

Sunrise to sunset is completely visible from the back patio in the hot tub, without an obstructed view, which is a rare find in North Carolina. Fabulous opportunity to star-watch without all the city lights. With the back yard completely fenced in, you can relax knowing that your pups will be safe and can enjoy being outside with you. If you love nature, you’ll be able to feed our two Peking ducks in the back yard, or see the horses and cows on the neighboring property from anywhere in the back yard.

Inside the home, this enchanting house offers 3 bedrooms with 2 queen beds, 1 queen air mattress and 1 crib. Our main bath will have the plush towels & have all the shampoo, conditioner & body wash you will need. All the linens and towels are freshly washed and newly added.

The hot tub on the back deck is so secluded, you can have a peaceful break from the day without any disturbances. Plenty of dedicated hot tub towels located in the laundry room in a basket. The newly built fire pit is stocked is with firewood by the back gate if you’d like to use it during your stay. It’ll keep the fire rolling all night long while you enjoy s’mores and some drinks with the kids or some friends. And the WiFi reaches to the far backyard.

If you would like to schedule a horse experience while you are here, we teach horse riding lessons. If you are a dog lover, you may enjoy our English Labrador Retreavers. We breed them and often have puppies available.

We are 4 miles from Notheast Park. The park has numerous hiking /biking trails, a Frisbee course, tennis and basketball courts , access to wading in the Haw River, a public pool, and a huge playground .

As well as watching Tv down stairs and upstairs.

During your stay
Depending on my work load, I am usually available. But with running a business, things get hard sometime.
But if you would rather relax, I completely understand, you just have to let me know.

I never discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, ethnicity, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.

I provide coffee, tea and instant noodles to our guest/s apart from the knick knacks included during your check in. Feel free to have your morning coffee on the breakfast nook and use the kitchen if needed be. Please serve yourself.

I am a non smoker, so I politely request our guest/s that smoking is NOT allowed inside the house but within the outside of my residence.

Parking is available on the side, in reserved spots.

The Hangar on Mackintosh estate is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath space for an elegant stay. The Mackintosh estate is a 26 acre horse farm and venue that is home to Hangar 61 coffee company and farm animals.

The space
Our Hangar apartment, completely renovated, is fully furnished with living room space, WiFi TV, and kitchen area with dining table. The bedroom is beautifully appointed with a new queen bed and BeautyRest Black Luxury mattress. The adjustable base offers features such as dual massage, head tilt, Zero-G preset, light therapy and sound therapy to make for a comfortable rest while away from home.

The bathroom offers a large walk-in shower with shower head and handheld shower head. For your convenience, we provide fresh towels and washcloths, makeup towels, makeup removal wipes, hairdryer, and an assortment of toiletries in case you forgot an essential.

The front porch is equipped with two rocking chairs and a bench where you can sit and sip a cup of our very own farm roasted coffee while you enjoy the view of our well manicured property and pastures.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to walk around and explore our horse farm. Enjoy our bench swing overlooking the front pasture or snap a selfie with our LOVE sign or the old Chevy truck.

The main house is a private residence and entry is restricted. You may say hello to our horses or mini highland cows but please do not enter pasture areas with livestock for your safety as well as the animals. Entry to horse stable is not allowed unless owner is present. It may be possible to arrange a cow or horse encounter based on availability. (Signed waivers required)

Play the music as loud as you’d like to, as there are no neighbors to complain. And when it’s getting just a bit too cold outside and you’re ready to warm up, dip into the large hot tub to relax have a drink while the sun sets in front of you.

Inside the home:
The spacious kitchen has every amenity you could want for cooking. While the living room is perfect for sitting around with friends or Netflix and chill. The kids play room right off the living room is easy to keep an eye on little ones but thankfully has a door you can close in case they get too loud.

This home is nestled in Whitsett off of Exit 138, 1 mile down the road from Red Oak.

3 bedrooms featuring a Queen Bed in 2 rooms, & a baby crib and a queen air mattress in the 3rd room. Plush towels and fresh linens in each room with extras in the bottom drawers of the dressers.

Guest access
You have the entire home to yourself as well as the hot tub & front yard & fenced in back yard. Their is an office space out back on the property as well, & you will not have access to this space during your stay. It’s a personal space. You will have access to the hot tub, propane grill, & entire home & front yard area with a saucer swing in the large tree, as well as the fire pit outback.

You may leave the bedding as is and just make sure the towels are in the laundry basket or a bathroom. We just ask that if anything is stained or there is a sticky spill, please clean it up during your stay. You’re welcome to leave the trash in the trash cans.

Your dogs must be friendly with our two Peking ducks out back. They aren’t locked up, so the dogs need to be friendly enough not to hurt them. Our two Peking ducks love when visitors feed them! So we leave food outside in a bin labeled for them. Feel free to throw them three or four scoops outback by the hot tub on the grass if they come up to see you. Or you can visit them over by the fire pit as well.

The indoor fireplace does not operate at this time but the home is heated with electric. The garage and attic & all closets will be locked but you have access to everything within the home and front porch and back patio. Enjoy the fire pit area anytime! We do have a new delivery of fresh wood at the back gate that you are welcome to use during your stay at the fire pit. (Please make sure yard gates stay closed during your stay so the ducks are safe)
