The 3500SF home sleeps 22 and provides an upper-level and a lower level each with its own kitchen, laundry room, dining and living areas, and outdoor sitting space.

No extra fees for "additional guests", firewood use, gravel bar access, etc.

Guests conveniently enter onto the property through an automated gate with digital keypad without having to exit the car. The motorized gate automatically closes behind the vehicle for additional security. The gate opens automatically when exiting the property.

Nestled beautifully in the woods, a private 1/2-mile gravel driveway takes you past the spacious house and down to a large, beautiful and private gravel bar on the Meramec River. The house sits roughly 1/4-mile from the gate entrance and a 1/4-mile to the private spacious gravel bar on the Meramec River.

Guests can enjoy an afternoon of fishing or relaxing on the gravel bar and later sit by a bonfire or watch the sunset from more than 500 sq. ft. of covered deck. Free firewood provided to guests (for bonfire area only). A local floating venue can be arranged to come and pickup your group for a 7-mile float trip where you finish right at our gravel bar. They will then come get the canoes, kayaks or rafts and you just walk up to the house.

The upper level has a Master Suite with a king-sized bed, Jacuzzi tub, separate shower and double vanity. Two additional bedrooms on the upper level are furnished with queen-sized beds and share a full bathroom. The lower-level has one bedroom with a king-sized bed, while the three remaining bedrooms are furnished with queen-sized beds. There are two full bathrooms on the lower level. The upper level living room has two queen-sized sofa sleepers while the lover level living room has one queen-sized sofa sleeper and a full-on-full bunk bed. All bedroom mattresses are new, Dr. Greene Sleep System Hadley Acres Super Pillow Top. The house is also furnished with linens & bath towels.

The upper level dining area has a 10' wooden table while the lower level dining area has an 8' wooden table. Both kitchens are fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, deep sinks, gas cooktop stoves, dishwashers and refrigerators (with water and ice dispensers). Both kitchens are also fully equipped with pots/pans, dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, knife sets, cutting boards, outdoor grilling tools, casserole dishes, serving bowls, crockpots, blenders, mixers, coffee pots, dishtowels/washcloths, fire extinguishers, and first-aid kits. Both the upper-level kitchen and lower level kitchen have walk-in pantries to store your food and drink.

The large upper-level living room has a stone fireplace with gas log insert and is furnished with a 55" UHD TV, while the lower-level has a 43" HD TV. Both TVs have a premium ROKU stick and remote where guests can log into their favorite streaming services. High speed wireless Internet is provided and telephones are located on each level (for incoming calls & local outgoing calls). HE front-loaded washers and dryers are on both levels with detergent provided. The upper level laundry room also has a sink and folding counter.

Other home features include a semi-private outdoor hot shower, separate thermostats for each level, an insulated floor for sound, two Weber charcoal grills (on the back patio) and over 500 SF of covered deck off the upper level with 4 rockers, a 10' wooden table, and 3 ceiling fans. The large patio at the lower level has a 5' porch swing, an 8' picnic table, and 3 ceiling fans. Adjacent to the back porch, and overlooking the back deck, is a large gravel area with many chairs that circle around a large fire-pit lined with boulders. Firewood to be used exclusively for the fire-pit is provided complimentary to our guests. Two full corn-hole games are provided on the back patio, along with a "Quarters-Toss" game for outdoor use. There is large working dinner farm bell off the back of the house that guests love. There is ample parking located both in front and at the side-rear of the house. All seven bedrooms have an egress window, separate closet, fan, nightstand and suitcase stand.

Spend the day away and enjoy nearby attractions such as local wineries, antique stores, Meramec Music Theatre, Wildwood Springs Concert Series, Onondaga Cave, Meramec Springs or plan a float trip with one of Steelville's local floating outfitters. There are several beautiful wineries close by.

Holiday weekends have a 3 night minimum stay. No camping, tents or campers are allowed on property. 22 people is the maximum number of guests allowed. Flat Rates, meaning NO "additional guest" fees like many other properties listed on VRBO.

The Walker Ford Cabin sits on two acres right on the banks of the upper Meramec River. Enjoy panoramic views of the river and the bottom hay fields. Bring chairs and sit next to the river, take a swim, dip a worm or just watch the turtles sun on the logs. Relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine watching for the occasional bald Eagle to soar up the river. The cabin has been newly renovated and is ready for guests. There is a beautiful rock fireplace, kitchenette, a queen size bed, queen pull out sofa and a dining table in the main cabin. The back sitting area has beautiful river views along with a twin sleeper sofa. The only thing you need when you come to our cabin is food, charcoal (if needed) and toiletries. The kitchen is fully stocked with what you may need to cook a meal and the linens and towels are also provided. There are several wineries and a canoe/raft outfitter within a mile away or bring your own canoe or kayak and float from our local access Birds Nest right down to your cabin. Shuttle service available...$35 local access. Inquire for more details. There is a BBQ grill and washers game for your use.

- "This little cabin was perfect for us! It was very clean and well stocked. We had planned to explore the area but ended up spending the time sitting by the fire pit by the river. Lots of wildlife and quiet. Do not hesitate to book this property. The owner, Susan, did everything to make the visit perfect. What an amazing find!" - "This is a historic cabin at the end of a dead end road which sits a few feet from Meramec River. It’s quiet and peaceful here. We relaxed on the two person slide and watched the birds and wildlife. The cabin is very clean and nicely decorated. The druzy quartz fireplace is beautiful as well as the rock walls. It has a nice enclosed back porch to relax and look out at the river. Floating and snorkeling on the Huzzah River is nearby."

My use of the pool facilities & lakes during my stay involves certain risks, including but not limited to:
The risk of injury resulting from possible malfunction of the pool/lake equipment.
The risk of injuries resulting from tripping or falling over obstacles in the pool/lake area.
The risk or injuries resulting from participating in any action in the pool/ lake/ or grounds.
3. I recognize fully and understand that the above list is not a complete or exhaustive list of all possible risks; the list only provides examples of types or risks I am assuming.
In Exchange for the owner allowing me to utilize the pool/lakes and area during my stay, I hereby agree to the conditions below. I fully intend and choose to give up the legal rights, as stated below:
TO WAIVE ALL CLAIMS that I have or may have in the future against the Owner, its directors, officers, employees, agents, or representatives (hereinafter referred to as the “Releasees”) Relating to my use of the pool, pool area, lake, lake area, grounds and home.
TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury, expense, or other cost that I may suffer or that my next of kin may suffer in connection with my use of the Releasees pool, pool area, lake, lake area, ground, and home.
TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASEES from any and all liability to property, or personal injury to, any third party, resulting from the use of the pool, pool area, lake, lake area, grounds, and home.

THE SUPERVISION AND SAFETY OF ALL CHILDREN ARE THE DIRECT RESPONSIBILITY OF GUEST OR PARENTS, OR CARETAKERS OF ANY CHILDREN ON THE PREMISES, including but not limited to decks, bunk beds, loft area, dock, pool, and any and all other activities on the premises.

Entire Agreement: This document and any attached addenda constitute the entire agreement between the parties. No oral statements shall be binding. This Agreement may only be amended by a written document duly executed by all parties. It is the intention of the parties that if any portion of this Agreement is invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall not void the remainder of the Rental Agreement.

I have read and understood this document. I am aware that by renting this property, I am waiving certain legal rights that I may have against the Releasees, and I fully agree to do so.

That I am over the age of 30 and that I am responsible and will adhere to all the rules of the property.
That this Waiver, Release, and Agreement is fully effective and shall be effective and binding upon me, and my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assigns, or anyone else authorized to act on my behalf or on behalf of my estate.

I have read and understood this document. I am aware that by renting this property, I am waiving certain legal rights that I may have against the Releasee, and I fully agree to do so.

- "Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! We got a lot of use out of the great pool and hot tub, and fishing was very fun for all ages (Papa got a catfish and the 6 year old became very independent with bluegill and bass!). The house was spacious and we appreciated having a second refrigerator. I like to be prepared when we stay in a rental house, so I appreciate detailed reviews. I brought laundry soap, which was good because each guest gets one towel/washcloth/hand towel, so we needed to do laundry a couple times and there were only two pods. I had brought bug spray, which was lucky because the grass to get out to the pond was extremely high and we had a couple ticks. It was cut toward the end of our stay, though. The owner was responsive and easy to reach. He mentioned that there was a mix up with our group coming the same day someone left, which could be why there were a couple areas that hadn’t been completely cleaned (sticky kitchen floor and toothpaste in sink and dumpster already full) but sheets, towels, tubs and counters were clean. Like most rentals, there were a lot of ants in the kitchen, so bring gallon bags for your snacks, etc. I would definitely rent this property again!"

Self check in via smart lock lets you arrive on your own schedule. Exterior security cameras at the front and side doors provide peace of mind without recording audio or monitoring your stay. We don’t charge extra for additional guests or pets, but please respect the cabin and its surroundings - no smoking indoors or parties. Take a drive down old Route 66 and check out Jesse James Museum and grab a bite to eat at Skippy's(a favorite local place) that is famous for their fried chicken and walleye fish dinners! The Meramac river is a quick 10 minute drive if you feel like floating down the river for the day, casting a line or checking out the local Onandoga Cave. We will even provide your transportation there and back so that you may have a carefree outing. There are also several local wineries (St. James) and brewing companies(Public House) within 20 minutes.
The Onondaga State park has riverfront gravel bar access and many trails to hike and explore.
After all this fun you will probably need to do some laundry . . . . .Full size brand new GE washer and dryer with basic laundry needs starter kit.

Quietly tucked down a small country lane only 1.3 miles from the interstate and 4 miles from the Meramec River, our guesthouse is nestled among the five acres of mostly oak forest. Now with Starlink wifi as of Dec 2024. Guest have full use of the property including organic vegetable garden, hiking trails, and bonfire pit. Two queen beds . Bonfire pit and plenty of yard for family game time. Our two goats, four barn cats are waiting to meet you! We have a NO pet policy.

Patten's Landing is a five-bedroom log home that sleeps 10 (12, if a couple of people sleep on the large sectional sofa) on almost 100 acres of forested land surrounded by the Meramec River and its tributaries, the Huzzah and Courtois Creeks. Built in 1942, the home has been lovingly updated over the last several years, with a fully-furnished modern kitchen, flagstone patio with firepit, and screened porch to watch the birds, butterflies, and occasional deer or wild turkey wander by. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you relax, walk through the woods, or go splash in the river! We have a swing set and outdoor games for the kids as well, and just added a large TV over the mantel with streaming services, and an electric fireplace insert that can be used year round. (NOTE: While we are mostly surrounded by streams, it is a 5-10 minute walk from the cabin downhill on a wooded path to reach the beach area, as the cabin sits on a bluff.)

In warmer weather, there are several outfitters nearby who can provide you with a canoe, raft, or kayak and drive you to a choice of locations to put into the river for a fun adventure! - "Great hostesses who literally thought of everything you would need!" - "Great secluded property. The cabin is very well stocked with everything you could need. Beds are comfortable. The second fridge in the kitchen is stocked with drinks and snacks provided by the host. Great screened in porch and beach/river access. Host responds quickly if needed. There was a storm that knocked out the power while we were there but we were comfortable. There is a land line phone which helped greatly. The cabin is awesome and beautifully restored. We plan to return in the future!"

When we used the oven, and opened it up to check or grab the food out the alarm would go off. Loved it so much!" - "There has been so much attention to detail with this rental, from the well-stocked kitchen with a smores kit to the bathrobes and slides to wear from the house to the hot tub, to the bounty of cut firewood for the firepit. The beds were comfortable, and the towels were plenty! It rained most of our stay, but we didn't let that dampen our spirits. The outside area with a covered hot tub and projector saved the day. We lost power for a time due to a storm, and the owner was so incredibly responsive, even offering to bring us pizzas for dinner. This property and the owner have been one of the best rental experiences. Looking forward to another visit in the future!"

- "We had 13 people staying here for our annual float trip. We loved the location and the pavilion! Everything was clean! The location was close to our kayak location plus it was very peaceful! - "We were a large group with many adults and small children. The sleeping arrangements were comfortable even with so many people in each cabin. The pavilion with the camp kitchen, additional showers and bathrooms, plenty of seating, charcoal grill and handy electrical outlets was perfect for gathering us all comfortably in one place. We cooked giant meals, played football & volleyball, had a bonfire, told stories and visited the local sandbar to take the kids swimming. In general, we made great memories to last a lifetime!"

The farm sits on the end of the road. Only 5 minutes from Hwy 44. The clouds and skies are hard to beat. Though the little house only has one bedroom it is very cozy and has everything you will need in the kitchen.

The house has a living room, dining room and kitchen combined. One large bedroom with a full-size bed and twin bed. One large bathroom with shower and one half bath with toilet, sink, washer and dryer.

The farm sits at the end of a dead end road so it is very private.

Garage is a game room that has ping pong, foosball, pop a shot and ring toss game.

Laundry room has brand new washer/dryer.

Kitchen should all the necessities you need- oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker of course!!

Family room had pull out couch in case extra sleeping places are needed. Enjoy watching movies? We have over 200!

Main floor has full bathroom and a half bath.

There is a loft are which has full bed and day bed.

Upstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds along with books and games.

Downstairs bedroom has bunk bed and trundle bed.

Basement bedroom has 2 full bedrooms. One with a full bed and the other with 2 queens. The basement living room has a queen bed in the corner.

Master has queen and reclining chair.

All bedrooms have ample closet space.

Forget about the rooms! Please spend time on the covered front and back porch as they are the best places. Remember to put your phone down, relax and talk to each other like it’s 1995!
