Although there is no lake view from Little Bear cabin, you only have a short 250 foot walk to our other property, Big Bear lake house, here you have your own private dune on and overlooking Lake Michigan - now with access to Lake Michigan via a new set on stairs down the dune.
At the top of the dune there is a huge open yard, gazebo, and picnic area overlooking Lake Michigan! It offers spectacular views of the lake all year round, and all seasons are magnificent. The newly built stairs on the dune will take you directly to the white sand beach on Lake Michigan!

The building was originally Manistee National Bank. The recently renovated apartment is where the Bank offices were originally located. It sits on the Manistee River Walk. The building is centrally located in the downtown Historic District, steps away from local shopping, dining, and entertainment. The deck provides beautiful views of the river where you will see sailboats and charter fishing boats pass by. You may even see a Great Lakes Freighter navigate the river channel. The River Walk makes for a nice stroll down to Lake Michigan.
The renovated apartment is 1500 sq ft, has original hardwood floors and exposed brick walls, 11' ceilings, tons of natural lighting, and a beautiful back deck that overlooks the Manistee River. There are stairs leading up to the apartment from the street (pictured). The rear access is via a spiral staircase (pictured) on the patio that leads down to the lower levels of the building. Beautifully redesigned, vintage, comfortable, super clean cabin located in the heart of Manistee National Forest. Totally secluded with no neighbors in sight. Cabin sits on 5 wooded acres and is surrounded by hundreds of acres of Manistee National Forest. Our place has been recently remodeled and beautifully appointed. Close to fishing ( WORLD RECORD BROWN TROUT CAUGHT 4 MILES AWAY), hunting, hiking, downhill and cross country skiing, mountain biking, (Big M Cross Country and mountain bike trails are only 3 miles down the road) canoeing and kayaking, and snowmobiling ( catch the trails right from the driveway). Beautiful covered front porch with huge patio and charcoal grill. Also has a firepit for those evening bonfires! The cabin comes totally furnished and also has a washer and dryer. The bathroom and bedroom are very large and there is a leather sofa and futon in the living room. We also have 2 very comfortable roll away sleeper cots. You will not be disappointed with our place!

It includes making sure the property is left tidy, furniture is in the same place you found it, everything is closed, locked and turned off, and the thermostat is set properly. These items will only take a couple of minutes but help staff immensely.

Please know that all rental policies and house rules are strictly enforced. This includes occupancy limits, age requirements, the ‘no parties’ and ‘no smoking’ clauses or any other rule posted online or within the rental. These are often defined by local ordinances, Homeowner’s Associations or other legal requirements and can result in fines or eviction if violated. We do not provide additional refunds for cancellations, late arrivals or early departures except as required in the posted cancellation policy.

Our home is situated on a wonderfully forested 1.5 acre property and sits on a low bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, with 100 feet of our privately owned beach. Our unique completely cedar home sits extremely close to the lake with unparalleled views of Lake Michigan from the cathedral ceiling great room, kitchen, screened in porch as well as from the master bedroom. Our home has been extensively renovated this year and features absolutely beautiful new furniture and pillow top beds.

Gourmet Kitchen: Fully equipped and completely remodeled gourmet kitchen has wonderful lake views and includes the latest in stainless steel appliances with walk-in pantry/laundry room.

A comfy, light and airy apartment within walking distance to our Historic Downtown and The Ramsdell Theater! You will be only a mile and a half to Lake Michigan's Beaches and Manistee's Big and Little Rivers. Enjoy walking the Riverwalk that stretches along the Downtown River Chanel and out to Lake Michigan to watch the gorgeous sunsets and star gazing! There is a massage therapist on the first floor, so especially when you arrive and are in the stairway, please be mindful of noise so we can be considerate of each other. Our peaceful 2-bedroom house has everything you need for your Manistee trip. Our home comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, a gas grill, outdoor fire pit and a patio, we also have a washer and dryer! We are pet friendly. Our home is situated on a quiet, dead-end street with an alley behind it. Our rental is within walking distance to several popular restaurants, parks, and beaches. This is the ideal base to explore northern Michigan and its natural beauty. We are an hour away from Sleeping Bear National Shoreline, as well as a short drive to other natural hiking areas.

We have a two queen beds along with a sleeper sofa in the front of the house and another full size sleeper in the rear living room.

This is the place for you! Full of nostalgic games, inspired design, just 1/2 mile from downtown shops and restaurants, and less than 3/4 mile from easy beach access!
This cozy comfortable guest house comes equipped with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 full bath, 1 kitchen/dining area, and 1 laundry area.

--Bedroom one, coming in from the front door, has a nickelodeon theme. All of us growing up in the 90s wanted this room. Just the bold colors and dripping slime pattern from the ceiling make this room cool. Not to mention the classic glow in the dark stars. This room also sports a 13'' VHS TV with its own collection of PG tapes, an orange and green lava lamp with glow in the dark features, and a collection of 90s ya (young author) paperback books from 3 different series (Goosebumps, Ani-morphs, and CYOA choose your own adventure). This room also has a comfortable full over full bunk bed with a 500lb capacity per tier, a small dresser, and closet area to hang clothes :) A tip for getting the most out of the glow-in-the-dark features: leave the lights on an hour or so before you plan to turn them off for bedtime. Let your eyes adjust for a second and watch the glow get brighter :)

--The second bedroom is Theatre themed, full of 90's movies posters. With optional mood lighting around the ceiling and at the head of the bed (each lighting feature has it's own remote). A wall-mounted TV with a red curtain backdrop to add to the movie theatre vibes. This TV is equipped with guest mode. That means when you enter your check-out date it will automatically delete any sign-in information from the TV on that date so you don't have to worry about remembering :) There is also a small closet to hang clothes as well as a mirror and dresser combo that have a slightly antique look that also adds to the rooms overall vibe. This room has a Queen bed with an outlet on the 4" sill at the head of the bed :)

--The laundry area is decorated with some classic 90s music posters optional black lights, and a light-up MTV sign. Fully equipped with a washer and dryer. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are also provided for your convenience. Along with a clothes iron and ironing board. A tip for the laundry area: leave the blacklights on for a little bit and then turn them off when it gets dark to see the walls hidden features :) The black light paintings were donated by a previous guest. --A full bathroom has some fun "Rocky and Bullwinkle" decorations. (true, Rocky and Bullwinkle wasn't created in the 90s but, they were still pretty prevalent while growing up then) Equipped with full bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, a hair dryer, some complementary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, emergency toiletries, and some band-aids and salve in case anything is forgotten at home. Also some beach towels/sheets for those hot summer days where there's nothing better than a day at the beach and a dip in the lake:). The tub also has some cute flowers and bubbles decorating the walls and anti-slip properties on the floor of the tub. There is also a drain plug if a bath was desired.

--The full usable kitchen has a "Friends" inspired theme from the purple and faux brick walls, teal cabinets and shelves, hanging pots over the stove, and the "Friends" inspired magna doodle art on the fridge to name a few. It is also equipped with dining ware, cookware, and some small storage containers for guest use. Dish washing and cleaning products can be found under kitchen sink with a first-aid kit and the fire extinguisher.
A complement of complementary food (mac-n-cheese, raman noodles, assorted cereals, pop-tarts) and drink (coffee, tea, hot cocoa) items can be found on the shelves above the counter. Just a tip for the kitchen, unfortunately the only things we are keeping in the refrigerator at the moment are some single-serve coffee creamers, filtered water for the Keurig and coffee maker, and a few bottled waters for personal convenience. So in order to fully enjoy some of the complementary food items like the mac-n-cheese and the cereal we recommend milk and butter be brought:) If needed there is a Meijer 3 min away for any grocery needs:)

--A small adjustable dining table with 4 chairs are also in the kitchen area. Surrounded by friends inspired decor. A perfect place to enjoy a meal and throw some "Friends" on the TV on the kitchen counter!

--The living room area has a slight "Simpson's"/ game room theme going and is all about having fun and relaxing. Starting with the medium size bean-bag chair :P. It is loaded full of different types of games (card, board, bop-it, Simon, a Simpsons arcade cabinet, and several different consoles( including a recently added N64 and Sega ) . As well as a good size TV, and 90s themed magazines for some easy chill time.

--There is a semi-sheltered patio area between the house and garage (This area has upcoming upgrades planned) and a small yard area that is partially sectioned off just for guests. : ) (this area also has some upcoming upgrades planned)
There are 2-3 steps to get into the house but after that every room is on the same level and has step-free access.

--Nearby (two min walk) there is Duffy Park where we have a soccer field, baseball field, basketball court, playground, and picnic areas.
-North Access Beach (usually a less busy area and not too crowded) is .7 mile, about a 12-15 min walk and only a 2 min drive. The parking here is around the base of the water tower. Then you follow the scenic trail and go down the sets of stairs to get to the beautiful sandy beach.
-Dunes Drive Public access is .6 mile. T
-Fifth Ave Beach is 1 mile, 3 min drive and has a beachhouse/snack shop, public bathrooms, playground, and picnic area.
-First Street Beach is 1.8 mile and a 6 min drive. This is the area where the fair will set up. Also near this beach are a couple playgrounds, baseball fields, basketball court, volleyball court, disk golf course, and a dog park.
-Manistee Golf and Country club 1.7 mile and a 5 min drive. Beautiful course and stunning views of lake Michigan.

Just something to be aware of is that there is a $5/night pet charge if you're bringing the furry companions. :) There is also a "guest service fee" if you look at the price breakdown, but that is just the commission that Vrbo charges for using the Vrbo site and services (the host cannot do anything about this fee).

Also, if you leave the place smelling like weed or smoke you will be charged a 100$ cleaning fee!! This is a family friendly retreat, so please don't.

We had hoped to spend more time exploring the outdoors in the Manistee area, but the weather didn’t cooperate. Despite rainy weather conditions throughout the weekend thus causing us to have increased indoor activities, the house accommodated us rather well. The house was clean in every aspect with an updated bathroom. Having air conditioning after a long day on the course was a must for my group and this homes Payne A/C system had no issues maintaining a cool temperature through the home. Brandon our host was easy to communicate with and responded to any questions in a timely manner. This stay was exactly what my group (budget conscientious) was looking for. First thing we noticed is the quiet atmosphere when we arrived. There are neighbors on both sides but one was vacant all week and the other was there but were quiet and respectful. There is also a privacy fence between the property so we didnt see them at all. The house is practically new. Updated and new appliances. Your basic needs are taken care of. Smart TV in living room with descent wifi. Front porch is covered and so nice to just sit and listen to the wildlife. We had a few bonfires at night, it was a great time. The owner (Dan) was polite, attentive and made sure that we knew he was just down the road if we needed anything. He came by a few times to take away the trash from the outdoor bin that was provided. The property is about 20 minutes east of Manistee, but Wellston is only 5 minutes away if you needed to pick up something from the store. Manistee has fantastic beaches and plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. We really enjoyed our stay, it was nice to slow down and rest from the hustle of life. Would reccomend! Thank you Dan!"

The Manistee forest had endless miles of snowmobile and ORV trails. Tippy dam and other great fishing holes are near by so you can fish to yours hearts content, or just float down the Manistee River. We are just over a hour from Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City and worth the drive!

You have the entire house. There is one bedroom and bath on the main level and two beds and another bath upstairs. Within walking distance to downtown shopping/restaurants, the River Walk, beaches, theater and more! Within a short drive to the Little River Casino, Golf Courses, Onekama, M-22, Crystal Mountain, hiking, antiquing and vineyards. We welcome you and your dog, but please let us know if you are bringing a pet in advance. There are several antique family furniture pieces in the house that are more valuable to me then to anyone else, but I hope you enjoy them as part of the decor! You will be asked to fill out a rental agreement at the time of booking.

Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the back deck or snuggled up on the couch, followed by a walk to 5th ave beach. Don’t forget to bring back a stone to add to the collection on the kitchen windowsill. Exploring downtown is easy by foot as the apartment is just a short jaunt to river street. Vintage decorative linoleum (discovered beneath layers of shag carpet) is displayed artfully around the apartment for your enjoyment. Return to the beach in the evening to enjoy a spectacular sunset.

The space
The front door will lead you to the upstairs apartment. You'll enter into the living room, and off to your right hand corner are the main bedroom and guest bedroom as I call them, because I call this place my home in the summer months. In the living room you'll find a space that is both welcoming and relaxing. The couch is pretty comfortable and great for a rainy or cold and snowy day with a book in hand, or simply an afternoon snooze.

The main bedroom is quite roomy, has a queen sized bed and has been thoughtfully decorated (as with the rest of the home). The sheets are soft and the blankets are cozy. The West Facing window brings in just the right amount of light and the closet is enormous but nothing special.

The guest bedroom is smaller and offers a full sized bed with soft and comfy sheets and bedding as well as great natural lighting. The trunk at the end of the bed stores extra sheets and blankets.

Beyond the living room is the kitchen, which has access to the back balcony deck and backyard. The neighborhood is quiet and sitting on the balcony deck in the evening can be quite peaceful. The kitchen has all the essentials including cookware, utensils, plates, cups, mugs, toaster, tea kettle, microwave, etc. Please let me know if we're lacking in some way in the kitchen. I hope you enjoy the vintage feel of the kitchen as much as I do.

Off the kitchen you'll find the bathroom, where there are the essentials - hand soap, toilet paper, linens including beach towels, and a few things like bandaids, peroxide, Tylenol, etc.

Guest access
Guests have access to the upstairs apartment, deck and backyard. Street parking only as the long term tenants on the first floor have rights to the driveway.

Other things to note
The apartment is intended for those in the process of looking for housing and need a place for a month or few or those who are visiting/working in Manistee for an extended period of time (travel nurses for example). It is my hope that this will be a wonderful landing pad for those in need of temporary furnished housing, where you can feel safe, relaxed and at home. With that being said, be respectful of this space while you call it home, as it is a very special place to me and I am looking forward to being able to continue to share it with others like you.

The upper decks including passenger and Officer rooms are available for you to enjoy. The two bunk stateroom is a great place to lay your head when you have a full day planned and need limited time in your room. Perfect for friends traveling, or parents sharing with a child. Great for the single visitor also.

The SS City of Milwaukee is a 360' long ship, built in 1931, and is now a National Historic Landmark. We have passenger staterooms and crew quarters that are available. Staterooms and quarters are restored from the original 1929 design and sleep 1 to 4 people in a room.
The passenger common area provides a comfortable place to relax and socialize. The Grand Saloon has comfy vintage chairs and oriental rugs. The observation room provides an airy space to write, play board games, and/or cards. The interior of the ship allows you to feel as if you were transported back in time to an era before televisions (though cell phones still work!). Wi-Fi is provided on the ship.

The ship's deck space provides the perfect advantage to lounge in the sun and enjoy nature from our provided deck chairs. The boat is moored on Lake Manistee with beautiful views of natural wetlands and the surrounding town activity.

A small continental breakfast will be available from 7:30am to 10:30am in the Galley.

Restroom facilities are shared. We provide both men's and women's restrooms and two showers on board. The rooms do not have private restrooms. The sinks in the state rooms are not usable. Restrooms are closely located to all rooms.

The City of Milwaukee is a true 1930's experience and does not offer air conditioning or heating, but every room has a window and fans are provided.

The S.S. City of Milwaukee's passenger deck is where your room will be located and to access that deck you will have to climb our outside staircase. We suggest that you pack light for your stay.

If you are looking for more excitement, the Little River Casino and Resort has many live shows and events.

The Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area is about 15 miles south of town. If you are looking to #findyourpark, this may be it!

I live in this 100-year+ old bungalow. My home is a long-collected museum from the 1950s. It is never left alone to the public. I do live here. My co-host also lives here. The building is located on the corner of the main road so there is a potential for noise from traffic. If you bring your dog(s), please know this is a busy area and they MUST be on leash!

There is a small outdoor seating area on the east side of the building along with a small side yard.

The passenger common area provides a comfortable place to relax and socialize. The Grand Saloon has comfy vintage chairs and oriental rugs. The observation room provides an airy space to write, play board games, and/or cards. The interior of the ship allows you to feel as if you were transported back in time to an era before televisions (though cell phones still work!). Wi-Fi is provided on the ship.

The ship's deck space provides the perfect advantage to lounge in the sun and enjoy nature from our provided deck chairs. The boat is moored on Lake Manistee with beautiful views of natural wetlands and the surrounding town activity.

A small continental breakfast will be available from 7:30am to 10:30am in the Galley.

Restroom facilities are shared. We provide both men's and women's restrooms and two showers on board. The rooms do not have private restrooms. The sinks in the state rooms are not usable. Restrooms are closely located to all rooms.

The City of Milwaukee is a true 1930's experience and does not offer air conditioning or heating, but every room has a window and fans are provided.

The S.S. City of Milwaukee's passenger deck is where your room will be located and to access that deck you will have to climb our outside staircase. We suggest that you pack light for your stay.

Guest access
In addition to the staterooms, guests have access to passenger lounge areas that provide ample room for relaxing, reading, and family games. Restrooms and shower facilities are provided aboard the ship, and additional restrooms on shore. Stroll the open outdoor decks of the ship or take the opportunity to lounge, watch a sunset, or the sunrise over Manistee Lake.

Guests have access to the shore-side picnicking facilities. There is a microwave, refrigerator, and toaster aboard the ship for your use.
Check-in begins at 3pm, and we ask that all guests are checked in by 9pm. Once you are checked in, you are free to come and go as you please! Our check in cut off time is 11pm, out of respect for our other guests.
Check out time is 11am.
The lower levels of the ship are only available during our regular tour hours, with a paid guided tour. The top three levels are available for you to enjoy during your stay. After you have checked in and have been shown to your room, we encourage you to enjoy the ship and our surrounding areas. You have free access to come and go.
Our Gift Shop is located on the ship, and is open during our regular business hours which you can find on our website.

During your stay
The ships crew will assist you in checking in and provide you with any services you may require. The ship's Purser will stay on board and can answer any questions you may have concerning the ship as well as the surrounding area; we are well versed in both the history of the ship and the local area.

Other things to note
We are located between the Little River Casino Resort and Downtown Manistee, Michigan. Manistee is located on the Manistee River as well as Lake Michigan. This quaint town offers many activities ranging from sitting on the beach to world-class fly fishing.

The Manistee National Forest is close to town and has ample trails and river activities. The National Forest has over a million acres of public land across north Michigan. In addition to hundreds of miles of two-track jeep trails, the Big M and Red Bridge mountain bike trails offer more intermediate rides. Hiking on the North Country Tail and many smaller trails help to make this a great place to experience the ecological wonder of Michigan.

For entertainment Manistee offers a mix of the new and old! The newly renovated Vogue Theater is a 1938 movie house offering first run movies. The Ramsdell Theater is a 100+ year old theater offering a variety of stage shows through the summer. Many of the bars in downtown offer live music throughout summer. If you are looking for more excitement, the Little River Casino and Resort has many live shows and events.

The Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area is about 15 miles south of town. If you are looking to #findyourpark, this may be it!

Manistee has three public beaches and a riverwalk. Freighters and sail boats can often be seen passing through the towns two drawbridges. The public beaches offer amenities such as shelters, fish cleaning stations, and two piers. Many public access rustic beaches can be accessed along Lakeshore Drive to the north.

Downtown dining ranges from classical fine food, great bar food, family style dinning, and local organic fair. Select from a variety of bars for nightlife or simply go for a nighttime stroll down the boardwalk. You can also enjoy Manistee's historic downtown shopping area. The local casino offers fine dining and buffet style food. The crew can offer recommendations for fine dining or the best dive bar!
