I have a small log cabin located in the rolling hills of northern Missouri. It’s a nice quiet place for a weekend getaway. Most days you can watch wildlife travel across the open area on the front lawn. The cabin has a loft with a queen bed and full bed. Access to the loft is by ladder type stairs. Not far from a couple small towns for groceries. Several lakes within 30 miles if fishing or kayaking is desired. A few walking trails on the property and lots of scenic gravel roads to just drive around and explore. I have added an extra space in the basement it’s basically set up as it’s very own apt with everything the upstairs has kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom so if 2 couples would like to get away together the extra space can also be rented for an extra cost. It’s been brought to my attention that some where this states not suitable for children (not sure why) children are welcome. That being said I do not have a playground area set up yet but there are plenty of outdoor activities for them such as nature walks and exploring.

When I rented the house I didn't realize the hosts lived in the upstairs. Thankfully, they said they couldn't hear the racket the girls made as they wrestled and we did not hear the hosts either. After returning home, I asked the girls what was their favorite part of the weekend. Of course #1 was sewing, our whole purpose for the weekend, but their next choice was playing with the hosts' bulldog! The hosts were wonderful and made us feel at home. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing weekend. I would stay at this rental again. Thanks!"

The City Loft located at K4C Premier Cottages is a two story city escape. Featuring an open concept studio floor plan the City Loft is contemporary meets industrial. Located off of Highway 65 our cottages are easily accessible with no thru traffic. The main level hosts the living are with a sleeper sofa, a full kitchen, a Smart TV for your entertainment. In the second story of the City Loft, you will find 2 queen beds and a set of twin over twin bunk beds making this cottage perfect for travelers with a large family or group.

Our ranchhouse is nestled in the rolling hills of southern Iowa. Here you can embrace nature and see the stars. Our quaint ranchhouse is unique and the property is expansive. If you're looking for a cozy place to relax, get some fresh air, or experience a breathtaking sunset, you will find that here. Your dog is welcome, but please - no dogs in the beds, and please clean up after your dog in our houseyard. For your convenience we keep our kitchen stocked with plenty of coffee and teas for you to brew, a sampling of our honey from the ranch, cooking oil, sugar and a variety of spices. The kitchen is fully equipped. We'll have some of our ranch-raised beef in the freezer portion of the refrigerator (for purchase). We have a gas grill on-site or you can cook over the fire outdoors or atop our woodburning stove in the living room. There is cast iron cookware in the kitchen to use for those purposes. Give it a try! We have plenty of towels to use in the bathroom, shampoos, soaps, and a hair-dryer. There's also an iron and ironing board downstairs to use if you need it. Additional bedding and pillows are available for floor mattresses. We hope you'll feel right at home at our ranchhouse.

Guest access
Guests are welcome in our ranchhouse and the houseyard. Safety first: a ranch representative must be contacted to discuss our pastures and timber. We are continually rotating pastures which involves moving cattle from one part of the ranch to another. Please contact the host before exploring outside the houseyard. Thank you.

Other things to note
We are actively involved in ongoing environmental improvements of our ranch along with providing the best care possible for our livestock. These are thoughtful, intentional practices, requiring their own expense budget line, including building five additional erosion control ponds - added to the ten already in place. All 15 ponds help prevent soil erosion and enable us to utilize only the flow of gravity and pure rainwater as our cow herd's only water source. We closely monitor, and continually rotate cow groups from pasture to pasture, so that their feed source made up of grasses, clovers and other legumes remains fresh. This allows at least 3 out of every 4 pastures to rest, recover and regrow for an estimated 75% of the growing season. This rotational grazing system helps keep our soils from eroding and progressively more healthy. We harvest large round bales from our alfalfa fields to use as feed for our cows during winter months. Cover crops are another important environmental practice we have established. Utilizing the unused nutrients in our rich soils after the primary crops are grown with 100% no-till crop production, provides not only the environmental benefit of keeping nutrients on the ranch, it enhances appropriate nutrient balance of our soils, and also provides an efficient feed source for our herd. Our tillable crop ground contains a minimum of 10% grassed waterways and edge-of-field grasses to prevent soil erosion from Iowa's often heavy rainfall events. We strongly support and encourage the utilization of cover crops to rebuild organic matter that has been lost through previous generations, as one additional way that we can be responsible agriculturalists. Our timber and pastures are picturesque, and Decatur County is well known for some of the best trophy white-tail deer in the country. (We can show you several examples from our ranch). Water fowl, and game birds, like turkey, pheasant, quail, along with pollinators have made their homes on our ranch, alongside our cow/calf herd. Our strong environmental practices benefit the wildlife, and enhance the growth of wildflowers, along with clover, alfalfa and other legumes that also support pollinators. All pollinators, including our own honey bee hives, benefit from these practices.

My cozy little cabin in the country is a very rustic log cabin makes for a great getaway for a couple. I have a full wrap around porch where most days u can sit and c wildlife pass by. More beds could be added if a few friends just wanted a little getaway

The space
The cabin is all an open floor plan with both the queen and full size bed in the loft. The stair case is more like a ladder to get up to the loft. I do allow pets I just ask they are kept off the furniture/beds and not left unattended with an extra 25 dollar fee per nite.

Guest access
My guests will have full access to the house. Kids can stay free so just don’t count them in the number of guests so it won’t charge you. I have roughly 5 acres you may walk and I do keep some mowed trails. There is always a chance of having wildlife you may see around there. Deer, rabbits, turkey mostly.

Other things to note
The staircase to the loft is more like a ladder and kinda steep. The ceiling in the kitchen measures about 6’4 so if your taller than that it mite be uncomfortable. It is a very rustic cabin, sinks are galvanized buckets and wash tubs. Bathtub is galvanized stock tank with a couple small steps to enter. I do have pics of these things you can refer to if you would like to look.

If you love the thought of being in the middle of nowhere with complete privacy on a dead-end gravel road surrounded by peaceful nature and animal sounds, The Crooked Cabin is for you! The cabin has 2 queen beds, 1 king, and 3 twins so it could sleep up to 9 if you’re willing to share beds. This is lodging only, no hunting.

The space
The family that built this cabin has a neat story; the story of the Seed Savers. Their passion was to save seeds from extinction; preserve the genetic diversity of seeds that were brought to this country by our ancestors. That dream started in this cabin. They built the cabin with lumber cut from this property. I have more details in the welcome book on the entry bench. They wrote a book about their journey, which I have with the welcome book for you to read.
The main living area has a large, comfy sectional and 6-seater dining table where everyone can gather. There's an additional 4-seater table in the living area that can be utilized for additional seating. There’s a spacious, covered deck that faces the east meadow which is a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sun rise and relax in the evening; you might even see deer frolicking around. The deck has patio furniture, dining table, gas grill, gas firepit, and gas heat lamp.
The main floor has 3 bedrooms (2 queens and 1 king) with smart TVs, workspaces and 1 full bathroom. There’s a ton of games in the closet of the front bedroom. The upstairs room has 3 twin beds, 2 fold out bed cushions, a TV, and an Xbox (this is where we stash the children, lol).
We also have 3-50 amp RV plugs between the cabin and barn so your friends and family are welcome to stay on the property with you in their campers.
There’s plenty of firewood behind the barn to build a fire and room to hangout in the “party barn”.
The she-shed (in the barn) has plenty of camping chairs, a corn hole game, and a basketball to shoot hoops.
The cabin sits on 30 acres so you’re welcome to hike around but no hunting please.
A couple disclaimers:
The cabin is old so you will feel some slight sloping in the floors…hence the name, “The Crooked Cabin”.
Like most homes in this area, we experience lady bugs getting in. I call it the beetle battle. They gather in the window sills seeking heat and aren’t bothersome or harmful. There’s a vacuum in the hall closet if you feel the need to suck them up.

Guest access
The key is in the lockbox on the antique milk can on the front porch. Airbnb will send you the check-in instructions which includes the code before your check-in date but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me.
You have access to every room except the basement. You may enter the basement to seek shelter in the event of a tornado.

Other things to note
I would suggest getting groceries before arriving so you don’t have to travel back into town.
