We keep our place highly maintained and have it professionally cleaned and sanitized after every use.

The place is in a very good neighborhood close to interstates on the south side of Sioux Falls. It is on a busier street.

- "We stayed at this property for twelve days in late July and early August 2023. It is as advertised and even better than advertised in many respects. In addition to the two bedrooms, two baths, there is a den/office type room that can be closed off to provide a third bedroom if needed, plus a delightful three season sun room, a partially fenced small backyard, a two car garage with opener, and a huge kitchen and dining area. The home was well equipped with all the essentials--towels, sheets, paper products, dishes, kitchen supplies, laundry and cleaning products, etc. We had good communication with our host who graciously allowed us to extend our reservation by two days when our plans changed. Two things you may want to note: (1) There is no cable or satellite TV, there is ROKU, which provides access to free and subscription streaming services but does not pick up local or network TV programming in real time. (2) The house is located on a busy four-lane cross-town roadway. There is no on-street parking and no defined turning lane. The house itself sits at an elevated level from the roadway up a somewhat steep driveway. For us it took a few days for to adjust to best ways to enter and exit the property by vehicle but once we did it was fine. This could be a more serious limitation in snowy or icy winter weather. Although we live in California now we still have family and many friends in Sioux Falls and would be happy and privileged to use this VRBO on future visits."

Charming 2 plus bedroom home located in a quiet neighborhood in central Sioux Falls. This home is located within walking distance from Sanford Medical Center, Augustana University and the University of Sioux Falls. Additionally, the Denny Sanford Premier Center, the Sioux Falls Convention Center, Downtown Sioux Falls, Falls Park, the Great Plains Zoo and the Empire Mall are all within 2.3 miles from our home.

The Master bedroom is equipped with a king bed with electrical outlets and USB charging ports located in the headboard. It has a 42 inch TV and a dresser.

The second bedroom is equipped with a queen bed with electrical outlets and USB charging ports located in the headboard and also has a 42 inch TV.

A couch in the living room turns into a sleeper sofa. There is a also 65 inch TV and dining table for four present in this space.

The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, flat top stove with oven, toaster, coffee pot, coffee grounds, coffee filters, pots, pans, cluttery, basic cooking utensils and salt and pepper.

There is a dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer in the home and we do stock the home with a few laundry and dish pods for your convenience. Wi-Fi is available and TV's in the home are Smart or equipped with a Roku devices. Off street parking for four cars is available.

Sioux Falls is a great place to explore but if you decide to stay in, we do offer some games and books for your entertainment.

You definitely do not want to judge this book by its cover! We have packed this main level unit of the duplex house with a mid century modern influence and a contemporary cottage style. It has been remodeled and filled with high end appliances, designer style , custom furniture & custom window treatments and one of kind pieces.

The galley kitchen is completely remodeled with tile floors, quartz counter tops, soft close cabinets, open shelves, GE Cafe appliances, a hidden dishwasher, custom roman shades and plenty of dishes and All-Clad pots, pans and utensils.

The bathroom is newly & uniquely remodeled with designer style tiles, cabinet, quarts counter and fixtures.

The dining room is spacious and comfortable! There is plenty of sitting and walking room around this metal top table and can sit 6-8 people very comfortably, with the farmhouse, slat back chairs you could sit in for hours.

The master bedroom holds, for your comfort, a high end, medium soft, handcrafted Airloom mattress with a luxury adjustable base that includes zero gravity, massage features and lumbar support. The window treatments are custom made with top down / bottom up, light filtering Roman shades.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK: this is our home and the house we live in. We will not be here during your stay and you will have this main level unit 100% to yourselves with privacy. We have decided to travel more and rent our home out while we are away. We will secure or lock our closets that hold our personal belongings to help depersonalize the space for your comfort. You are welcome to use anything in the home that is not locked away. The house is setup like a duplex with the main level being the main unit and accessible through the front door of the house and the basement being the second unit and accessible from the back of the house. The kitchen door from upstairs locks so that you can be comforted knowing that you will be the only ones to have access to the main unit of the house. The lower level is also a rental unit in which the tenants only access through their own separate entrance from the back of the house. If you choose to rent this home, you will be renting the main unit/main level of the home and you will NOT be sharing any spaces of the home. Rest assured, you will have your own private entrance. . GUEST ACCESS: Guests will have access to main part of the house and property, including front yard, driveway, main level of the house. Guests will not have access to backyard or basement/lower level of house as they are designated for the other tenants. The door leading from the kitchen to the staircase that leads to the lower level will remain locked so that upstairs guests can’t go downstairs and downstairs tenants cannot access upstairs. The garage is our cleaning and laundry supply area.

You're just a few blocks away from Augustana University, Sanford Hospital, University of Sioux Falls, Midco Arena, shopping, and restaurants. Downtown and Avera Hospital is a 5-minute drive away.

The space
Vintage Mid Century is our vibe and we had a great time restoring our 1955 home to showcase some of our favorite pieces of actual atomic-era furniture and decor--along with some loving mid mod reproductions.

Our guests tell us that the vaulted post and beam ceilings and retro touches make the house both spacious and cozy at the same time. It's the perfect place to slip off your shoes and relax after a long day, 1950s style. If you want to kick back like Don Draper, we even have a cocktail shaker set ready for your "Mad Men" happy hour.

We provide Kuerig coffee and tea. If you're a coffee purist, there's a teakettle and a french press on the shelf for you to use, along with ground coffee. The house also includes a book exchange shelf and has puzzles and games for you to enjoy.

Two smart TVs are available for use with Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, Prime Video or streaming from your own device. The TV in the den is on a desk and outfitted with an HDMI cord, in case you're working remotely and need another monitor.

The fully-equipped kitchen has a convection oven and is stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and essentials, like basic spices, oil, and vinegar. If you need anything that's not there, just ask and we probably can lend it to you from our kitchen. The dining area has a vintage formica/chrome table with seating for 8.

We have 1 traditional bedroom, with a queen sized bed, dresser and closet. Our second bedroom/groovy rec room has a twin-sized daybed and trundle bed. You can use it as a private bedroom with a sliding barn door, or enjoy the space as a quiet hangout, with a record player, card table and view of the backyard garden.

Our final bed is a full-sized futon in the office/den. This room is semi-private, with an open doorway to the living room and its own closet.

Our home has one newly remodeled bathroom with a shower/tub. You're welcome to use the washer and dryer in the hallway outside the bathroom.

We also have a shady backyard patio with plenty of seating. You've got your own place to sit and enjoy the fresh South Dakota air, plus a new park model charcoal grill. In the winter, we keep it locked in the garage, but we can roll it out if you request it anytime all year long. (We provide the grill and grill tools--you'll need to pick up your own charcoal, unless we have some left behind from previous guests.) We're working to bring the front and back gardens back to their former glory. In the summer, you're welcome to help yourself to some rhubarb from our patch or cut some flowers from our wildflower garden.

We respectfully ask you not to rent our house if you need to bring a pet or animal of any type, as we have family members with severe allergies and some vintage furniture that can't be replaced. No parties please. Smoking is okay outside the house, but please use our outdoor ashtray.

We're super serious about cleaning and have installed an iWave electronic air purifier in the HVAC system proven to reduce airborne pathogens.

We have decided to travel more and rent our home out while we are away. We will secure or lock our closets that hold our personal belongings to help depersonalize the space for your comfort. You are welcome to use anything in the home that is not locked away. The house is setup like a duplex with the main level being the main unit and accessible through the front door of the house and the basement being the second unit and accessible from the back of the house. The kitchen door from upstairs locks so that you can be comforted knowing that you will be the only ones to have access to the main unit of the house. The lower level is also a rental unit in which the tenants only access through their own separate entrance from the back of the house. If you choose to rent this home, you will be renting the main unit/main level of the home and you will NOT be sharing any spaces of the home. Rest assured, you will have your own private entrance. . GUEST ACCESS: Guests will have access to main part of the house and property, including front yard, driveway, main level of the house. Guests will not have access to backyard or basement/lower level of house as they are designated for the other tenants. The door leading from the kitchen to the staircase that leads to the lower level will remain locked so that upstairs guests can’t go downstairs and downstairs tenants cannot access upstairs. Do we have to keep track of keys?
Nope! No keys, card, or fob. Just a 4-digit code sent to you prior to your check-in. And we promise it’ll be an easy one to remember.

Early check-in or Late check-out?
Maybe! Depends on our schedule. Shoot us a message and we’ll accommodate your request if possible.

Do you offer a cleaning service?
Yes! We can make arrangements with our cleaner, and if her schedule allows, she’d be happy to do regular cleanings for an added cost.

Guest access
Enjoy access to the entire property, including the garage.

Guests will check in with a unique keyless entry code sent two days before arrival. The code is changed for every guest to ensure security and safety.

For our guests’ safety, cameras are located above the garage, at the front door, in the back yard, and on the sides of the house.

Other things to note
TVs are streaming only. Guests may link to their own streaming services or watch any of the 100+ free Roku TV channels.

The Historic Victorian Inn is located in the heart of Downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Lodging more personal than a hotel, and usually more affordable. This Grand Lady was built in 1888 and is on the National Historic Register. The Historic Victorian Inn provides an intimate and cozy setting when gathering with colleagues, family, or friends. Book the whole place, book an entire floor, or book an individual room. Enjoy the feeling of being a guest in a lavish home whether your at a day long meeting, or an overnight guest. In the summer enjoy our trademark Victorian wrap around porch. In the winter time, enjoy a seat by the fireplace in the parlor. You are walking distance from Downtown Sioux Falls where you can enjoy great breakfast, lunch, or dinner, wines, local craft breweries, shopping and award winning chefs.

Enjoy a good nights sleep on this queen sized four post bed on the second floor at the back of the property. This room has a shared bathroom just outside the bedroom door.

This a small 6’x10’ office only.

Great for a quick workstation stop in your travels, or for a longer term rental, we offer a retractable desk, shelving, mini-fridge, microwave, and for longer bookings we can setup a private landline phone.

Free WiFi and Ethernet cable.

Heat is sufficient but slightly chilly in winter, so we provide a space heater.

No bed, but we also have small studio apartments available on-site and we can do a discount if you book both.

Bathroom is half a block away.

This is ideal for those who are coming in late and want to check-in after 8pm & check-out before 8am, some people just want to hit the road early!

If you need extra time, it is $6 per hour for early check-in or late-check out.

No laundry use with this rate plan. It will be too late to try to cram a load in before our laundry time ends. If you would like to use the laundry, it will cost $6 and you can also stay an hour late or checkin an hour early.

This is a private bedroom, with a walk in closet on the second story of a 1913 Foursquare "shared" house. This room is a simple, yet has all the amenities needed for a comfortable mid-long term stays. The room is furnished with a twin bed, two forms of light, laundry basket, outlet extender with USB ports, waste basket, bath towels on a rack, clock & hangers.
This is a shared house (myself & 1-3 guests) with living, dining room, well equipped kitchen, laundry on main floor and SWEET front porch.

The room is smaller than a standard bedroom (7'9"x9'11"), great for those that are busy and simply need a safe place to sleep and have access to home element of bath, kitchen and laundry.

The room has the original wood floor/doors/woodwork, small walk in closet with new west facing window.

This is a shared house with 1-4 other adult residents/guests. There are clear house rules (listed under "Things to Know") that cultivate a very pleasant community living experience. The house is over 1500 sft so plenty of space.

Each resident/guest has an assigned basket in the fridge for organization.

The perfect place to stay for work or play (or a stopover through town)! Curl up in front of the fireplace on the full-sized couch and stream your favorite shows on the 48” LED TV (Netflix only, no cable) or take a break from relaxing and get some work done on the desk. Eat takeout on the high-top table in the kitchen or make your own meal with the full-sized kitchen. The place is fully stocked, from dishes and silverware, fresh towels and sheets, to soap and shampoo.

The space
This is a large one bedroom located inside an older house that had been converted into a tri-plex. There is a pullout couch in the living room and lots of space for air mattresses (1 provided). There is shared heat throughout the building and space heaters in the unit to control the temperature to your liking. A window A/C unit and portable fan is available for cooling.

Guest access
In addition to your own private apartment, you'll be able to relax on the front porch or the outdoor patio area with fire pit (bring your own wood) and patio table/chairs. A small charcoal grill is also included but no lighter fluid or charcoal. There is also a washer and dryer available in the basement. We also will provide garage access to keep your vehicle out of the elements during the winter.

Looking for long term renters, such as traveling medical staff! Owner of house is an overnight nurse at the VA and other permanent house residents are in the medical field

You'll have a private bedroom, furnished with queen sized bed. Shared bathroom, although not often used by house residents. Bedding and towels included (if needed). On site laundry. Available parking in driveway or on street.

There is a dog (born 2018) that barks but typically well controlled and one child (born 2020).

The space
Quiet neighborhood on the south side of Sioux Falls. Close to the interstate and main shopping areas. About 15 minutes to the major hospitals. Can get about anywhere in town within 30 minutes.
