Nestled in the small community of Holland, MA, the Gateway to Western MA and only minutes from the Connecticut border and Routes 84 and 90, this cozy little house is the perfect get-away for family fun. You can enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking and paddle boating, outdoor dining and our fire pit. We welcome you to bring your own boat to tie up to our dock (the boat launch is directly across the lake). Sleeps 5 comfortably (queen, full and bunk beds), and there is a full futon couch in the screened-in sun room, which by the way, includes a dining area and surround view of the lake. Our home also features a mother-in-law apartment with the full bed, a tv room, refrigerator and the 2nd full bathroom with laundry room. We purchased the house in December, 2014, and upgrades included adding the 2nd full bath, washer/dryer, new furnishings, bedding, towels and tableware, plus lots of cosmetic improvements. Our lake house is "new and improved" for the upcoming season!

Nearby Holland Market is perfect for last-minute purchases, and Diane's Villanova and The Traveler restaurant offer delicious food in family-friendly restaurants. Sturbridge is minutes away for rainy day fun or a change of pace: Old Sturbridge Village, a living museum which re-creates life in rural New England during the 1790s through 1830s; fine dining and family dining, shopping, cinemas, antiquing and more.

Cozy up in this beautiful 10-acre, 6-bedroom, 4-bathroom COUNTRY ESTATE for 2-20 guests, 1-1.5 hours from Boston, Hartford, Providence, and 3 hours from New York City. The property is surrounded by conservation land, which gives you total privacy.

This smart home has its own well and septic field, solar panels, Wi-Fi thermostats, 1Gig mesh internet, motion-control dimmer switches, heat pumps, and mini splits.
The excellent drinking water is filtered through the whole house by several carbon and sediment filters, an iron filter and UV light for any bacteria and viruses.
No salt is used on the land for water softening or as an ice melter in the winter. A product called Ecotraction ( volcanic sediment) is used to de-ice the driveway.

No insecticide or herbicide is used on the property. Many flowers are planted for their fragrance, beauty and pollinator attraction. Weeds are pulled out manually.
We compost food waste, excluding meat because it attracts animals, and separate trash ( 10%) from recycled ( 90%) as practised in our town.

You enter the house through the left garage door.
The three-car garage has been converted into a large mud and recreation room, where you can bring your luggage and groceries and leave your outside shoes.
This recreation room offers a beautiful pool view, has a piano and toys inside the cabinets, and is the perfect indoor-outdoor room during the rain.

When you enter the house from the recreation room, the ivory bathroom and black-and-white bedroom are off the hallway.
You then come to the blue family room with the gas fireplace and card games, connected to the cathedral-ceiling kitchen and the formal dining room that seats 8.
This chef's kitchen has a double oven, Keurig, Expresso, drip coffee, ice cream maker, all baking tools for cakes, cookies, and pies, various spices and condiments, utensils, and plates for 30 plus.
The bar/living room is off the dining room. It has a 55-inch Sony OLED TV and another piano. Please feel free to read any books on any subject.

As you continue walking, you will see the aqua bedroom with a full-size bed, the pink bathroom with double sinks, and the laundry /garden room.
Last, you will encounter the cathedral-ceiling master red bedroom ( 35 feet by 20 feet ) with a 65-inch Sony OLED TV, the master black-and-white bathroom with double sinks, and the cathedral-ceiling oversized jacuzzi.

In summary, the ground floor has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is helpful for any elderly parents or handicapped person.

The second floor has three bedrooms ( pink with a queen-size bed, yellow with two single beds, and grey with a double-size bed), an office, another family room with Karaoke, and a purple bathroom.

If you need more space, 3-4 single air mattresses can be in the red bedroom, one in the pink bedroom, 1-2 in the grey bedroom, and one in the office.

- "The decor is absolutely beautiful and so welcoming! My son and daughter fished all day and night. We all enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. The beds were extremely comfortable! Lots of space for us! Our barbecue was amazing on their traeger grill- so easy to use! We finished our night making s’mores!" - "This home has the perfect mix of chic rustic decor and modern convenience all with lovely lakefront amenities. Highlights are: plenty of space to gather or spread out as needed, high-end soaps and Turkish towels, full and double rainbows, heron, hummingbirds, chipmunks, a quiet lake for swimming, kayaking (provided) and paddle boarding (we brought our own), the best mattresses we’ve ever slept on, and easy fishing from the dock. We found ourselves wishing for: tissues in the bathrooms, a toaster, insulated cups and better restaurants nearby, none of those things negatively impacted our stay but next time we will be prepared. Our pup loved the shade of the yard, the view from the deck and lower patio, the provided dog gate and clear lake water.(We discovered that the doggos a few houses down are free roaming, sometimes ending up in our yard. Our pup was indifferent but we did try to return the dogs to a somewhat unpleasant owner.) The coffee shop in Monson is worth a stop and the pizza from Lake George Tavern was very good. Two members of our family are in their 80s and loved the main level accessibility including the lake view from both inside and outside on the deck, the fast WiFi connectivity, and the quiet. They wished for easier entrance into the home, and had difficulty with access to the lower level due to lack of railings. This did not impact their stay to any significant degree since other family members could assist. We made wonderful memories, thanks to Natasha!"

- "Perfect " - "The cabin was adorable. Was originally going to be 4 of us sharing it but ended up only being two of us. It was just the right size for 4 people though as I worried based on photos. Very quiet and the owner was friendly and helpful. " - "Once we finally found the cabin, we loved it. It's not marked very well as there are other cabins that are similar. We had to get the pic out to look at the details of the cabin (windows, doors, etc). Once we saw which one it was, trying to get to it was a bit tricky but we made it. The cabin is super cute inside! There is a separate shower that is in one of the bedrooms (literally next to the bed ;) ) Fishing wasn't great as there was too much milfoy or whatever it was up near the beach area. Took the canoe out and the same. Maybe way out in the middle, it would have been fine, but it was getting late and we gave up. The cabin is very open (not ceilings - just rafters) so you hear EVERYTHING! We set out on the covered porch for breakfast and it was lovely! You are fairly close to the road so you do hear road noises but it wasn't bad. The beds were comfy! Would definitely come back here again!!"

Sleeps 10. 15 minutes from Sturbridge Village Ma, grocery stores, and restaurants. This is a quiet neighborhood so no parties please.

Hopefully everything you need to relax and enjoy the view and the lake itself. Hiking trails nearby. The Maine Attraction restaurant is right up the road (great seafood). There’s a water skiing show every Friday evening (check time, usually around 7-7:30). Sturbridge is right up the road with the Old Village, wonderful restaurants, and antique shops. Boston is 2 hours away, Salem and the North Shore, Gloucester, and Rockport (2.5 hours), Hartford (1 hour), Berkshires (2 hours). Everything is within a days drive.

Also there’s a very straight, tall oak tree right next to the deck that I was really taken with, just a beautiful tree. This private, single-family home offers a cozy yet spacious environment with 2 bedrooms plus a bunkhouse, accommodating up to 9 guests comfortably. Inside, the spare room boasts two twin XL beds, while the primary bedroom features a luxurious king bed. The bunkhouse provides additional sleeping space with 4 twin beds, perfect for the kids. Need an extra sleeping arrangement? Utilize the twin XL daybed in the kitchen, waking up to beautiful views of the water.

In total, there are two bedrooms and a bunkhouse to accommodate guests during your stay, for easy planning, here are the bedroom layouts:

- Steep stairs required to get to the house as well as to the water, this should be consider for those with limited mobility

Other Things to Note:

As for the parking, please park cautiously near the hillside to avoid accidents. Look for designated parking signs and avoid using neighbors' driveways. The driveway is a pull-off right off the road, not down the steep hill in front of the house. We have space for up to three cars. All guests must agree to be off the exterior spaces by 9PM and keep music down at all times, the house is in close proximity to the neighbors.

Don't worry about accidental damage! Your rental includes an accidental reported damage waiver fee of up to $800. The cost to repair any accidental and reported damage to the rented property, including any missing or broken items up to a maximum of $800, will be covered at no charge to you as long as the damage is reported to your host before you depart.

Greetings! You will enjoy staying at my great big house! It is a 4/2 with professional gym right in the center of Holland! It is super comfortable, filled with character & warm accents, reflecting when craftsmen spent time building houses back in 1959.

The house is an oasis and stands amongst a forest where wildlife and birds abound. All which can be observed from the house. On clear nights the stars are incredibly bright. The air is fresh and the house water tastes great. A small fenced yard for behaved dogs is attached to the house.

Enter through the Sunroom, partitioned by heavy drapes from the rest of the house. Enter the Dining room/living room with wood burning fireplace and bay window for stunning sunsets. The kitchen is straight ahead. There are two doors and the kitchen functions like a breeze. The hallway takes you to a professional gym on your left, a full bath on your right and a charming little bedroom. Go upstairs through the living room, find two very large bedrooms and charming bathroom with shower.

The property is on high land, in the woods, centered in the middle of tiny Holland. Overlooking the tennis and basketball courts and baseball fields, and our little Town Hall. It is 2 blocks to the boat ramp and fishing pier. A few blocks to the Holland Town Community Forest which the Town recently purchased, 177 acres for all to use, complete with spectacular trails. The Trustees of Reservations has Quinebaug Woods just around the corner from the house with a stunning trail. Lake Siog is a few blocks away. There is more fishing there. There are bike trails everywhere, Grand Trunk is close with horseback riding trials and more. A couple blocks to the light and a short jaunt to the Maine Attraction with Gifford's Ice Cream or to the Traveller's Bookshop Restaurant for yummy food. Like to read, we are home to one of the most charming little libraries in the region. Holland Elementary School; Tantasqua Regional School System.

***Much of the furniture can stay or go depending on the VRBOer needs and length of the stay. 3 months-6months will be at a lower rate. One or two smaller dogs at owner's preapproval and for additional fee. Sorry no cats or birds allowed. Access for garage and laundry and storage is negotiable.
