The kitchen had a stovetop with oven, drip coffee maker w filters (and even some ground coffee if you forgot to bring your own), a microwave, plenty of dishes and glasses (wine and regular) and a washer and dryer. The living room had a pool table, large smart TV (we were able to login to our Netflix and watch a movie on the last night), some games and a piece of furniture that unfolded into a Murphy bed (my 16 year old son slept there. There was a sliding door to the kitchen so that I could get some coffee and breakfast without bothering him too much. Off of the living room was a long narrow room with two built in bunks at the end (my other two kids slept there - 18 and 21). Next to the bunks there was a door leading to a very nice master bedroom with a sitting area, a king size bed, a modern bathroom, and a large sliding glass door over looking the Kootenai river. The back porch had plenty of seating, a nice grill and spanned the length of the house. This was a perfect spot to hang out by the river. There was also a separate guest room on the other side of the kitchen with its own bathroom for my parents. There were no kayaks because of insurance reasons. We had a great stay!"

The cabin overlooks the beautiful Kootenai River in Northwest Montana and is located 13.5 miles east of Libby, MT and is only 3 miles below the Koocanusa Reservoir. The cabin is ‘turnkey’ with a queen bed on the main floor, a loft that sleeps 2 (full bed), a well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, books, games, DVD’s and wifi. There is a covered deck to watch the abundant wildlife, a propane grill for barbequeing and a nearby boat launch and fishing access to the Kootenai River. Full service dining at the River Bend Restaurant is only a mile away.

We have the historic remodeled Ferguson Cabin with a loft bedroom that has a king sized bed on one end, two twin beds on the other. The main level has a full kitchen, dining area, living area, another twin bed, and a 3/4 bathroom (shower/no bath tub). The front porch looks out onto grassy meadows and wooded mountains of the McGinnis Meadows valley.

Summer: Beautiful hiking opportunities, two fly fishing ponds just a 5 minute walk on the property. Access to Cabinet Wilderness Area just 30 minutes away. Blue Ribbon Trout fishing on the Kootenai River just 45 minutes away (ask us about local fly fishing guide). Old abandoned logging roads in all directions for the mountain bikers.

Winter: Excellent BACK COUNTRY SKIING, usually between early December and early April. SNOW SHOEING too.

We are 60 miles from Kalispell, and 35 miles from Libby. Approximately 7 miles south of Highway 2.

The bedrooms (2) are arranged “roommate style” with the kitchen and living areas separating them. The bath is quite generous, as is the laundry room. The kitchen is well appointed and is quite convenient for cooking in. The surrounding area is remote, up a mountain and well above the town of Libby, so the views are quite spectacular. We viewed deer, elk and wild turkeys from the deck and windows. Be aware, there is a business run from the lower level of the building and there is some heavy equipment on the property. The host is on the premises from time to time and is very considerate and helpful. At this time, GPS will take you only part of the way to the address, so pay close attention to the directions given by the property manager. Overall, the loft is a lovely accommodation. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay again."
