The living room had a pool table, large smart TV (we were able to login to our Netflix and watch a movie on the last night), some games and a piece of furniture that unfolded into a Murphy bed (my 16 year old son slept there. There was a sliding door to the kitchen so that I could get some coffee and breakfast without bothering him too much. Off of the living room was a long narrow room with two built in bunks at the end (my other two kids slept there - 18 and 21). Next to the bunks there was a door leading to a very nice master bedroom with a sitting area, a king size bed, a modern bathroom, and a large sliding glass door over looking the Kootenai river. The back porch had plenty of seating, a nice grill and spanned the length of the house. This was a perfect spot to hang out by the river. There was also a separate guest room on the other side of the kitchen with its own bathroom for my parents. There were no kayaks because of insurance reasons. We had a great stay!"

The cabin overlooks the beautiful Kootenai River in Northwest Montana and is located 13.5 miles east of Libby, MT and is only 3 miles below the Koocanusa Reservoir. The cabin is ‘turnkey’ with a queen bed on the main floor, a loft that sleeps 2 (full bed), a well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, books, games, DVD’s and wifi. There is a covered deck to watch the abundant wildlife, a propane grill for barbequeing and a nearby boat launch and fishing access to the Kootenai River. Full service dining at the River Bend Restaurant is only a mile away.

We have the historic remodeled Ferguson Cabin with a loft bedroom that has a king sized bed on one end, two twin beds on the other. The main level has a full kitchen, dining area, living area, another twin bed, and a 3/4 bathroom (shower/no bath tub). The front porch looks out onto grassy meadows and wooded mountains of the McGinnis Meadows valley.

Summer: Beautiful hiking opportunities, two fly fishing ponds just a 5 minute walk on the property. Access to Cabinet Wilderness Area just 30 minutes away. Blue Ribbon Trout fishing on the Kootenai River just 45 minutes away (ask us about local fly fishing guide). Old abandoned logging roads in all directions for the mountain bikers.

Winter: Excellent BACK COUNTRY SKIING, usually between early December and early April. SNOW SHOEING too.

We are 60 miles from Kalispell, and 35 miles from Libby. Approximately 7 miles south of Highway 2.

The loft was perfect for our needs, convenient to the Kootenai River, Lake Koocanusa, Banff and wilderness attractions. The bedrooms (2) are arranged “roommate style” with the kitchen and living areas separating them. The bath is quite generous, as is the laundry room. The kitchen is well appointed and is quite convenient for cooking in. The surrounding area is remote, up a mountain and well above the town of Libby, so the views are quite spectacular. We viewed deer, elk and wild turkeys from the deck and windows. Be aware, there is a business run from the lower level of the building and there is some heavy equipment on the property. The host is on the premises from time to time and is very considerate and helpful. At this time, GPS will take you only part of the way to the address, so pay close attention to the directions given by the property manager. Overall, the loft is a lovely accommodation. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay again."

This tastefully decorated home is ready for your romantic escape or your quiet and restful vacation to recharge your batteries. High speed internet makes it a good choice for extended stay work-cations. It is a world away from the every day but only 7 miles to town. Just steps away from the gorgeous green waters of the Kootenai River where you can catch your own supper or simply relax and watch the river float by. The cooks kitchen is ready to save you trips out for meals...this is our part time home so it is fairly well equipped for quick & easy meals, baking and even seven course dining nights. The master has a king size bed with shower en suite. The secondary bedroom has a luxurious queen. There is a reading nook with books, dvds and adult board games in the main hall, as well as the centrally located laundry closet and second bathroom with an antique tub for soaking away the effects of a day of play in this beautiful corner of Montana. The loft has two twin beds and a view of the river as well. Fast 50 down/50 up wifi powers up all your devices, log into your streaming services on any of the 3 smart tvs...or go old school with one of our many dvds. (Work-cation? Internet up to 500 down/50 up available with 3 days notice for added fee). There is a picnic table on the river bank for dining alfresco. Covered porches on the front and back of the house are perfect for morning coffee and conversation or evening wine and appetizers. Sleeping in late is one of our favorite things so both bedrooms have blackout drapes to combat the early appearance of the summer sun. This house is perfect at recharging your batteries and reconnecting with your spouse...we think there is magic in it.

The home is set up for you, our guests. You will not find closets and drawers filled with our personal belongings…just empty space for yours.

This home is on a 1.13 acre private lot. There are quiet retired neighbors on both sides but it remains quite private. The area is semi-residential in feel with quality homes but it is right at the edge of Montana’s wilderness. You will see wildlife all around during the day. Deer, bighorn sheep, turkeys, chipmunks, geese, ducks will be seen most days…right in the yard. There are multitudes of birds, eagles, hawks and bats as well. We ask that you keep doors closed so critters do not get in. There are other animals we have not seen in our yard but have found “evidence” left behind…including bear, mountain cats, wolves, moose, porcupines, raccoons, coyotes. We recommend situational awareness at all times while in Montana.

There is a Montana Heritage Trail just at the end of our road…Bighorn Trail #42. It is approx 4.5 miles long tracking right along the rivers edge. It continues as far as the Kootenai Falls so no need to drive there although the last 0.8 miles is a rather primitive talus slope and not the young or the physically challenged. We will not cross it ourselves…too scary. See photo #50 in our listing for trail specifics, however the short description is 3.8 miles of is an easy and fairly level hike on crushed gravel equivalent to a rural driveway, high use, open year round and suitable for most hikers, bikers and photographers. The best part is you can begin right from the house!

What we love about this home…why we own it: peaceful, quiet, serene, immersion into nature, wildlife in our yard, quality of local neighbors, fresh air, beauty of the home, beauty of the river (Eric grew up here but I remember saying in 2007 on my first trip to Libby.” it’s the most beautiful river I’ve ever seen…I can’t believe the color of the water”), the ability to calm down from our Seattle lives and just leave it behind for a while. I’m sure the place will affect your soul, spirit and mind too.

With everything being so tenuous in our modern world, we strongly advise guests secure a “Cancel for any reason” travel insurance policy. Covid is still having its way with us humans, forest fires and natural disasters happen, home, job and health sometimes refuse to let us be…protect the investment in your vacation. This is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house that is just on the edge of town in Libby Montana. It is a quiet secluded neighborhood and backed on the J. Niels Park. It is a short drive to some great attractions such as the swinging bridge, Kootenai Falls and the Libby Dam. Lincoln
County is on the North boarder of Montana and boarders Canada and the West side boarders Idaho. Libby of less than 2,800 people is a town where you can come to relax and get away from a fast paced lifestyle.
The space
This is a cute (about 1,000 square feet) 2 bedroom 1 bath house that is a typical Libby house. We call it Evans Corner, even though it is not located on a corner. It is backed on to a nature park that has a frisbee golf course and baseball fields/fairgrounds. Enjoy a slower paced lifestyle in Libby Montana. There are deer that frequent the neighborhood/front yard.
Guest access
The entire house is accessible to guests, some cabinets are locked for the use of the cleaner. The garage is available for things like skis, snowboards, or bicycles (please don’t bring them inside the actual house). There are two sheds in the backyard which are locked and not accessible.

River runs right through the backyard but there’s no river access. No worries, though. Found an outfitter in Libby for a raft ride down the river, right through our backyard! (Check out Kootenai Float Co.) Well appointed kitchen made dinners easy. All-in-all a great stay!"

This brand new cozy 2-bedroom cabin nestled in the Kootenai National Forest and surrounded by wildlife is fully furnished with all the comforts of home. The master bedroom has a beautiful queen size log bed with clothes hanging area. The bunkbed room has a twin over full log bunk bed also clothes hanging area. The full kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and all the dishes and utensils you will need. There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience. The living room is complete with a smart tv, DVD player, recliner and a queen size sofa sleeper. There is plenty of comfortable space for you and your family to relax and talk about the day's adventures. There is a large bathroom with a hair dryer, and we supply all the towels and bedding. The heating source is a heat pump with air conditioning and a king heater in each bedroom and the bathroom. Outside there is a wall tent with 2 cots for an outdoor camping experience. Please bring your own sleeping bags. There is a covered fire pit and BBQ area with chairs so you can enjoy it no matter what the weather decides to do. We are pet friendly with prior approval and a fee. We ask that you don't leave your pets unattended in the cabin. We do have an outdoor kennel available with food and water dishes for your furry friends. The beautiful Lake Koocanusa and koocanusa resort and marina is only minutes away where you can enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, or lounging on the beach. There are lots of backroads for ATV fun and lots of mountainous terrain for hiking, hunting and exploring. You can enjoy the beauty of Northwest Montana at Warland Creek Getaway and still have all the comforts of home. You just need to arrive with your food and personal items and you can begin your adventure.

Our lakefront cabin is nestled among the pines of Middle Thompson Lake, just a 40 minute drive from Kalispell. A small creek borders the​ east side of the property, and flows into the lake. Enjoy a swim from the private dock that floats on the shoreline. The cabin has been recently renovated and has an open floor plan with fully equipped kitchen. It is easy to enjoy the views from the large screened porch. At the end of the day gather around the fire pit and enjoy the warmth, long into the night. The stars are breathtaking. Campfire Cabin has a spacious lawn for games and tents. Perfect for volleyball (our family favorite) and relaxing in the hammock. Our newly built sauna house is a step away. It is equipped with a changing room, full bath and loft area to sleep or play in. Bring your water toys and boat. Fish, kayak, and paddleboard right from the cabin! Local summer attractions include huckleberry picking, hiking, hunting and fishing tournaments. Also winter attractions include cross country skiing, sledding, ice skating, and snowmobiling. Enjoy a break from technology since we have no tv. (Although we newly added Starlink WiFi ) Learn to relax again.

Welcome to our elevated cabin we call the treehouse! It was created from trees taken down on the property. A larch tree runs through the center of it, with many custom wood accents; cedar, fir, larch, lodgepole, and alder. Since this is right in town you are walking distance from stores, church, hospital etc. Fans provided, but no AC. There is WiFi available to watch on your own device, but no TV available. There is plenty of space to park, and the owner is a local with good info on the surrounding areas.

The space
This is a peaceful and quite place with stunning views of the Cabinet Mountains to the west. Deer, turkeys and many kinds of birds are some of the wildlife you will get to see here. In 2015 the basement suite was remodeled and updated with the current amenities, and that is the space you are renting. There are no steps to access the apartment or any of the interior rooms. It has a small patio under the upper floor deck, and its own private entrance. Everything is handicap accessible.

The upper floor is also a rental so we ask that you remain respectful and considerate of guests who might be staying above you.

The kitchen has a microwave, a toaster, a refrigerator, and features a Keurig coffee maker. The pantry has a blender and a waffle iron, with space to store groceries and such during your stay. There is a 5 foot bar table to use for dining or as a small work space if needed. But the best part, is the gorgeous walk-in shower in the bathroom which features beautiful tiled stone-work. There is not a better place to relax after a long day.
There is a propane BBQ grill outside on the patio, complete with BBQ untensils.

There is a log pavilion next to the lodge, perfect for having a bbq and enjoying the long summer evenings. A good idea to bring lawn chairs.

What makes it special is the gorgeous granite counter-tops and the one piece granite sink. The master bath has a jacuzzi tub with an overhead shower. Living area has a sleeper sofa. Towels, washcloths, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Laundry is located in the master bath. There is also a large walk-out deck with a bbq grill and a patio table. Makes for a perfect evening, dining outside and watching the sun set behind the mountains! The main entrance is on the side porch as you walk-in from the carport.
There are 3 ductless heat pump units for heating and air conditioning.
Since you are renting the upper level of the lodge we ask that you remain respectful and considerate of guests who might be staying below in the basement suite.

Outside, enjoy a peaceful walk to the river and try your luck at catching a fish or simply take in the scenic mountain views on the deck. You may even spot some of the local wildlife.

Step inside and you will find a beautifully designed space that combines modern style with a touch of Montana rustic. This fully renovated home has an open floor plan with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with a total of 1640 SF for you to enjoy and comfortably sleeps 8.

After a day of experiencing all that the Kootenai Valley has to offer, relax, take a nap, play a board game or watch a movie on the Smart TV in our cozy living area.

The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and everything you need to prepare meals. Please enjoy the coffee and tea bar.

The dining room has seating for 6 and a stunning Redwood slab bar with seating for 4 allows for family style dinners or an intimate dinner for 2.

Enjoy the thoughtfully appointed main suite's king size bed with serene botanical themed linens and your own private full bath with a tub/shower combination and a double sink vanity.

Bedroom 2 features 2 queen beds with a flyfishing theme and linens to inspire dreams of tomorrow’s adventure on the Kootenai River just out your door.

Bedroom 3 is our wildlife room with twin size comfy daybeds. If you must work while you are in Montana.... A workstation is provided in this area as well.

The second full bath has a tub/shower combination and is conveniently available for all guests.

There is a full-size laundry room with ample storage for your convenience.

Our private firepit area is perfect for evening gatherings after playing a game of horseshoes or cornhole where you can roast marshmallows and share stories under the stars.

As our guests ,you will enjoy and be able to access 7 acres of river front property with great fishing. This location is just a few minutes from Libby Montana's amenities while yet on a private end of the road location.


There are endless activities in the area including biking, hiking and site seeing. Check out the Cabinet view Golf Course or take a trip to Kootenai Falls. The swinging bridge is a must see! Bring your binoculars, there is an active bald eagle nest nearby.

****While there are train tracks that border one side of the property as with most river properties here, the trains do not whistle at this location, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility of your surroundings.

The Kootenai River is a highly touted fishery and we have plenty of frontage. Libby Dam controls the flow levels. You might consider waders and surround yourself with rainbow trout!

Additional Note:

As with most Kootenai Valley river properties, the train tracks border one side of the property and can be noticeable. The occasional train is about the only thing that could interrupt the solitude and peace this location has to offer. The trains do not honk their horn. We've lived here for decades and find them well worth the views and river frontage our property offers.

The river and legendary fishery it offers is controlled by Libby dam upstream. That means levels can fluctuate with weather and calendar just like any other river. Consider bringing boots or waders just in case the river is up! You've got a thousand feet of frontage to explore! We can also help you arrange a guide if you wish and you could be picked up or dropped off at the BnB!

Timber River Guest House offers gorgeous views of the Kootenai River and the surrounding mountains, plus all the amenities of an upscale hotel, but with more flexibility. This 3 bed/2 bath sleeps 8 total, when utilizing the optional Queen size Murphy Bed. Guest accommodations include a fully stocked kitchen, complimentary guest laundry, and a game room with a 65" smart TV (Dish Network), pool table, games, etc. Guests have direct access to the riverside patio, gas grill and fire pit.

The space
This property is listed as a townhouse because guest areas share a common wall with the owner's second home; the only shared space is the front entrance hallway and the patio. You will be contacted in advance if the owners plan to be on-site during your stay.

Our riverside outdoor space includes a gas grill, fire-pit area, seating for four at a bistro table, and a full size picnic table. Additionally, we offer a variety of comfortable seating options.

You can enjoy boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, snow skiing, cross country skiing, hunting, bird watching, pickleball, and much more.
All within a short drive or a quick 1/2 mile walk into town.

The space
This is a new home completed in October 2024.
It boasts three king bed ensuite rooms and a room with two queen beds.
There is an additional half bath in the middle of the house.

There is a south facing front porch for sun lovers, and a north facing covered rear deck for cool afternoons.

We're currently working on a safe permanent path to the riverbank.
Once down at the river guests can fish or have a campfire.
Guests could spend a night there if they wanted more of a "camping" experience under the stars.

** Guests need to remember the river level can change quickly and there can be serious burn bans during wildfire season.

The boat launch is less than a quarter mile upstream, perfect for anglers to try their luck. The Kootenai river is a "blue ribbon" fishing stream.

There are many local fishing guides and a new local business that rents kayaks, tubes, canoes and much more.

Lake Koocanusa is 17 miles upstream, it's a 90 mile long lake with private beaches all over.

Turner mountain ski area is 22 miles away.
